the acorn is a good keepsake for living through boss battles, if you aren't using it already. it will absorb more damage from the final boss than e.g. Skelly's tooth will. for the final boss you'll want to play defensively- ||stay behind him, play slowly, just focus on dodging his attacks until you are more comfortable with his attack pattern.|| it can help to dedicate a run or two to just learning the fight patterns

there is no time limit, and ||his attacks hit pretty hard. trying to get through the fight too quickly, without having a high enough dps to kill him before he killed me, was usually where i ran into trouble when i was first fighting him||

Focus on one boss first

Focus down Asterius first. He does grunt - swing - swing, so take the grunt as a cue to get out of the way, or right behind him since his swings don't hit there. mind the shockwaves when he does the jump attack
When Theseus aims at you, there will be a crosshair on you. right before he throws, the crosshair turns red and there's a sound effect. Either run in a circle, or put a pillar between you and him. his shield blocks front-facing attacks, but if you throw your spear and recall it quickly, it's guaranteed to hit him once. Theseus also turns his back to you right after he does the spear toss, use that to get a few hits in. He's fully vulnerable during the first wave of Olympian aid. Depending on who's helping him, you can get quite a lot of damage in by doing dash - attack - dash in a circle around him.
Oh and bring Eurydice's acorn with you

If you end up with Athena's aid, using a full gauge when he activates his aid basically means it does nothing and you get free hits

you just have to do more runs, and talk to him every time you do.

pretty much no one unlocks immediately after clearing the condition

it seems like the favor conversations have less priority than any other in the game, so you have to wait until you wouldnt have gotten a new conversation that run anyway. maybe the game checks to see if there are any pending conversations with that character, and only gives you the favor one if theres not.

either that or its just a completely random number of runs after meeting the condition

What you will typically find is that you'll struggle a bit on a new boss for a few runs and then everything just clicks and you'll hardly have any problems again.

You just learn their patterns and timing and it's all much easier.

Having the codex tell you what you need to unlock certain boons helped me alot - The run after I realized I had it, I got the last two Poseidon boons I needed to finish his prophecy.

I'm just glad you don't need the legendaries to finish THOSE prophecies. They have their own prophecy, but it's so good that specific one isn't locked to needing Legendaries.

It really depends on your playstyle and the build you're working on. Each weapon has a total of four aspects (but a specific thing needs to happen for the 4th to be available). They each give you different abilities for that weapon.

It’s significantly better than authority because if you reroll a door, it’s still not that likely you’ll get what you need, but if you roll a boon you’ll likely get something solid. Also you can reroll wells to get 3 new items to buy which if you have the money makes elysium a breeze with the hourglass if there’s good stuff in the well

Made it up to Elysium yesterday but the bosses there killed me the Minotaur was easy but Theseus was much tougher cuz he kept using that shield

Still proud of that run tho wasn’t expecting to actually reach the elysium bosses

But once you get a good build you can melt through them

tbh you can pretty consistently kill Theseus with 0 damage once you know how

I just all-out dash-strike to kill the Mino and then move onto Theseus who already has lower health because of getting between the Mino and my weapon.

you want to end the fight there if you can. lodge your cast, get behind him for backstab damage, save up your call

and dump all your burst damage there to kill him before he starts summoning magic

Alright well thanks for the advice I’ve actually been working on improving my dash timing when avoiding attacks since I use ruthless reflex

well if you beat mino first try you definitely got it, i wont explain it too much

i cant use it anymore

once you get used to double dashes

you cant really go back

you feel slow and awful with just the 1

its alot stronger than it seems. 2 dashes means you can dash twice the distance with your I frames up

so you end up taking much fewer hits, even if you just spam both back to back

or you can use just 1, and have the 2nd one still available as a back up, dodge 2 quick attacks back to back

ruthless reflex is hard

I see didn’t know all that seems like using greater reflex is way better then I just assumed ruthless reflex would be one of those talents that makes mobility tough but pays off well if you time it correctly

but tbh dash strikes are really really important to meta dps

and having 2 dashes doubles that

so its pretty rarely used

I always go after The Mino and get him killed first. Theseus will wittle his own health down by getting between you and Mino, so he'll be easy to deal with after the Mino is dead.

Not really. I mean high level players just take down both together. I think most newer players do better if they focus on Asterius first and hide behind the pillars or something from Theseus to not have to deal with that.

The easiest one tbh is just whatever is the most fun for you because that means you're the most motivated to learn that weapon. My Newbie Build Guide is pinned in this channel if you need some help with that to get you started with builds for the different base weapons.

Base Bow is mainly about finding the rhythm for Dash-Strike Power Shots. Dash-Strikes charge faster than your normal attack.

You'll want Heartbreak Strike or Deadly Strike on Attack, with either Hunter Dash for more Dash-Strike damage or Tidal Dash for great AOE damage (scales super well with poms, too).

Or just Divine Dash for safety.

And then try to take as many Chaos Gates as you can to look for Strike and Lunge boons from them.

Strike = Attack damage; Lunge = Dash-Strike damage

But Lucky Tooth is a good pick if you have no DDs when you enter Elysium to hopefully carry you to a Well or something to buy a Kiss of Styx.

i only end up using my DDs against the bone hydra fight and the theseus and the minotaur fight

i find the rest of elysium to be rlly easy

which was the opposite of when i just got to asphodel

i kept dying to magma lol

but i will sometimes end up using a DD in tartarus if i end up against alecto. megaera and tisiphone are rlly easy for me, but alecto can sometimes make me use a DD

So here's the thing about the Hydra... when it's only the main head, its attacks are so predictable and easy to avoid, you should really try to not get hit at all. That's not too difficult. You usually only end up taking damage there because you were taking very unnecessary risks or not respecting its attack. Like when it's about to shoot the arrows, you just hide behind a pillar, when it's about to do a head slam, you just run away to where it can't reach you, etc.

If you don't take damage in those phases, you'll have more HP for the difficult phases with more heads.

Yeah, so long as you're sure you can do that without taking damage.

One very simple tactic is also just to dash behind the head when it shoots.

Yeah, you want to use the Blood-Filled Vial in Tartarus to get Curse of Agony, then swap to the Owl Pendant in Asphodel to get Divine Flourish, and then hopefully Merciful End and Divine Dash from either of them.

Switch to the Acorn in Elysium and keep it on for the rest of the run.

Zeus is the stronger one ultimately, but that only matters when you play both optimally or close to optimal, anyway.

If one is working better for you, then that's the one to use.

and the zeus one makes my q move slower and i can press q again to make it come back

Your Special can keep doing damage while you're blocking or Bull-Rushing, that's really good.
