i tried doing a suicide bomber build with every revenge power in the game and spearhead

and it doesnt work with spearhead

Though unlike rail Zeus shield special is much more flexible beyond that. Others will work, It’s just that if you want to deal huge damage with Zeus shield you really don’t need to think too much harder than his special boon

ok so what i like to do is keep a nice bit of distance, enough where i can still be hit but dodge much easier since having him offscreen is never a good idea. outside of that only break the skulls if you A: have the time(i.e. hes summoning mobs and or is in the invis bit) B: the damage output to deal with them easily) otherwise its better to just ignore them imo. what bow do you use generally so i can give more specific tips

since a lot of the fight is knowing the fight and your weapon

my most recent go is with chiron though not upgraded very much -- I did get a hammer upgrade that gave me +4 special, ended up going with zeus boon for the special, trippy shot? for my cast, and I got a duo boon that makes lighting hit twice in the fog

(oh also on the skulls the waves have limited range so if youre good at playing in a more confined spot then you can just go to the other side of the arena or far enough away where its easy to react)

first off the aspect is garbage without being at least 3rd level

and zeus special doesnt work on it

since the lightning has a cooldown that chiron is faster than

i recommend heart rend setup(artemis special aphrodite attack), sea storm setup(zeus cast and posiedon special), and if you want demeter special with arctic blast and or ares special with dire misfortune and impending doom works well

also hangover on special isnt that bad either

and tbh trippy shot is busted on the right weapon

take it on base hera bow, get scint feast(the duo you got) and ice wine(dio/dem duo) and youll shred

Family Favorite just gives you straight up more damage for all the different gods you have boons from, so you don't need to apply status curses first to get the damage bonus, and it will be active from your very first boon on.

Dark Foresight increases the odds for getting gold laurel rewards in your run: boons, Centaur Hearts, Poms, Obols, Daedalus hammers. So your builds will be stronger.

lol yep. He's hard. first thing is try to beat him down when he's summoning his god. He's super venerable

He has two attacks. He'll do a spin attack when you're close and after that keep moving forward for a bit, or he'll throw his spear when you're far and after that turn around to get some distance.

When he throws the spear, you can just wait behind a pillar, then dash out afterwards and hit him in the back.

also, right after he attacks, don't try to dash behind him. he does a whole 180 after he attacks, so just walk up to him and nail him

I feel like I get really bad at dodging things if I have boons that fill the screen with stuff

Just did a run with Dionysus's Drunken Dash and it leaves the pulsating purple clouds everywhere when I dash

and ended up blocking a ton of attacks with my face because I couldn't see them coming lmao

v: Yeah definitely, I'm still at that stage where I haven't seen all the boons yet and am trying them all out, so sometimes I have a really weird set of boons just because I come across something new

I definitely feel like if I want to play close to enemies and try to properly dash to dodge moves and stuff I want less clutter so I can see them winding up for attacks

idk if anyone else does this but whenever I'm trying a new weapon or see a set of two or more boons / hammer upgrades that I haven't gotten yet, I always go with the one I think I'll dread using more so that next time I won't have to pick that one lol

i think an alright way to learn how to play every weapon is just use what you feel like using

dark thirst rewards you for trying out every weapon accordingly but you don't have to pick the weapon with dark thirst every time

unless you're actually trying to get as much darkness as possible

You'll get a lot better at that with experience and practice.

Like, you'll get better at gauging what enemies you can dismiss for the moment, which ones you actually gotta focus your attention on, what cues to look for, your positioning, etc.

And your Dashes etc. are more deliberate, so whenever there's visual clutter from the effects, it's at a more deliberate time when you're also in a better position to not have to look for so many things.

Like say, there's always a minimum amount of time after any enemy's action before they can do another one. A Wretched Thug can't attack with its club and then immediately attack again. Early on, you would see three Wretched Thugs, two of them use their attack at the same time, you dash out of the way, and now you're trying to keep track of what all three of them are doing next.

But you only really need to pay attention to the third Thug. That's the only one that can attack you for the time being.

Duo boons are boons between 2 gods, they have requirements before they can show up first, (1 boon from each of the gods of said duo, you have to check your codex for those requirements, some boons don't count towards activating the duo), after you have the 2 boons that are suitable for that duo, you need to find a third boon from one of the gods in question, ill give an example:
First boon: Artemis Attack
Second Boon: Athena Special
Those 2 boons activated Deadly Reversal, the Duo of the 2 gods, I now need to find an Athena Boon or an Artemis boon and the Duo has a chance to show up, mirror spoiler: ||(can be increased using god's legacy from mirror)||, Note: Duo boons cant be obtained in trials even if you have the requirements

As an addendum, most duos require a core boon (ie attack, special, cast, dash or call) from each god

For a more accurate list of requirements, refer to thr codex in game after you've purchased the upgrade for it from the contractor
