do I have to finish each heat lvl with at least 1 weapon, in order for me to be able to acquire the bounties from the next heat level?

e.g. I beat Redacted with Blade with 0 heat - I could gather the bounties for all weapons on Heat 1
Now once I beat Redacted with any weapon on heat 1, I will be able to start collecting the bounties from heat 2?

It’ll just finish the previous bounty, not start a new one

So if you start a run with 1 heat and get 2 bounties, you need another run to get the other 2 bounties then you can move to heat 2 bounties

And so on

And up to 20 heat

You don’t have to up the heat one by one. If you want the challenge you could do 50 heat 20 times and that would get you all the bounties. You can use the meter as a guide, once it’s full you’re getting bounties.

Crush shot is the main build. Usually you'll be killing things, so the upgrade for faster cast exit won't come up until tough enemies like bosses

Oh yeah she is. But I found Skelly to be very helpful when I was still learning as he trivialized getting behind the shield.

There's a bunch but also depends on your weapon
An easy one is hera bow + crush shot

The loading mechanic allows for better burdt and you delete the short range of crush shot

for cast boons in general i recommend either ares or demeter, and then you want the trio of artemis, poseidon and zeus to get mirage shot and lightning rod

The "castpects", if you have aspects unlocked are posideon, achilles, ||beo||, hera, sorta eris and talos but not really. Which one of those you choose will influence which casts you build towards generally.

Hera crush has been noted above. Achilles with blades or beams has also been mentioned. In both of those cases, you'll want the artemis duo, which works out nicely. ||Beo|| benefits greatly from a mirage shot bug so posideon cast is pretty common on that one. Posideon aspect can get you lodging casts back faster if things tragically do not die.

I find Achiles to be the most fun for cast builds. Or hidden shield, but that one doesn't have the "normal" casts that all the other weapons get.

Achiles may not look like a cast aspect at the surface, until you realize that its bonus damage applies to casts as well. It is the strongest aspect for DoT casts (Ares and Demeter).

so you could put out 3 hunting blades and an attack and then rush and do 4 attacks over and over and the blades would keep the buff

Generally there are no bests for all scenarios but it's roughly something like: Nemesis, Achilles, Demeter, Eris, Hestia, Hidden Shield, Hera, Hidden Bow. Not in order, those are just the best of each weapon.

To answer the "why", it mostly boils down to: The build has the least requirements compared to all the other shields.
||Once you have Approval Process 2 and Underworld customs on, any build that requires more than 2 epic boons to beat the game just isn't consistent enough, much less so a build that requires a duo boon (Mirage Shot for hidden shield)||

Also yeah as Bananas said ||not having access to multiple blood stones / faster blood stone regen through the mirror||

For the lock, you need to do a favor for each character (mostly in theme with them, for example charon = spend lots of money) but can be shortened to "just keep talking/playing"

and then after that try to get ocean's bounty from him

You could. They're good but might be a bit advanced if you cant get the builds reliably. At the start you generally want to explore and learn weapon mechanics and enemy patterns. Later on you can optimize your builds for dmg etc

You'll want Heartbreak Flourish or Deadly Flourish ideally, anyway, for the high % damage. Guan Yu's Special has 45 base damage, piercing, and wide AOE. Anything with % damage is good on Attack except Tempest Strike is unorthodox and requires fully leaning into Poseidon to make it work (though it can be effective and fun).

For optimal DPS, you're either doing Special > Dash-Strike x2 or Cast > Dash-Strike x2 with Guan Yu. Cast for single-target, Special when you can hit multiple enemies with it (or if you have Charged Skewer). And just your Special and reposition if it's enough to one-shot things (which it often is if you have Charged Skewer).

There are two ways to charge the spin: from a normal Attack and from a Dash-Attack. 99% of the time you want to charge from a Dash-Attack. And there are three ways to release a spin: let go of Attack, Dash, and Dash-Attack. Letting go of Attack is the safest method and how you want to release it most of the time. It's also usually the best method for keeping the spin on your enemy. Releasing with a dash gives you i-frames and a lot more range for the spin, but it travels faster. You mainly use that to quickly escape a situation or to throw your spin at very far-away enemies. And releasing with a Dash-Attack gives you the extra range that a Dash gives but without any of the i-frames, but the benefit is that you can immediately charge a new spin. This method is the most aggressive and best for DPS, and it can keep you within the Deflect spin if you happen to use Divine Strike.
