I've read somewhere that Theseus and Asterius at some point start doubting each other, then reforge their bond. Does anyone know what triggers this? I've seen them a lot of times and have never seen that dialogue, they also just say one generic sentence before the fight (both the boss fight and the solos Asterius fight)

just got home but! if you just turn up extreme measures all it will affect is bosses, not any other part of your run. so the powered up bosses may give you trouble but everything else will stay the same. there is always god mode in settings, which only adds a % of damage resistance that you can turn on and off at any point in a run if you need the extra boost against bosses

I'm just going to point you back to rule 1 of this server in #readme-first, there is no need for the tone. Let people enjoy fiction without taking a superior tone about other works. In some cases, Hades can be an entryway for people interested in classics to branch out to reading them, but not when people act in this manner about it.

if shes still giving you new dialogue you may just need to wait it out until the right dialogue for progressing bond pops up. the dialogue system just sees that you've met x requirement for dialogue and enters that into a pool of available dialogue that can potentially come up when you speak with an npc.

Pal, you don’t know Athena is white. Because they’re gods - they’re whatever people believe them to be so therefore they cannot be one thing or another. So the Hades dev team made a conscious decision to make the god designs as diverse as possible to reflect the actual real world.

I think if you want to discuss the topic further it's probably best to do so via DM with someone. Ultimately the official dev response is that there is not inherently a right or wrong way to interpret the gods due to the nature of mythos and how myths were spread, though saying some of what you did will rile people up because regardless of your intent it comes off... not that great. Oh I already did, but it's kinda frustrating going through 10 or even 15+ runs of him never turning up when he's blocking a story or two from progress. I practically managed to get to the end credits thanks to that - I got all the way to Elysium waiting for him to appear, then I told myself "what the heck, may as well finish the run and have a hack at the boss" only to pretty much accidentally kill him. I just wondered whether there's some sort of trick to get him to spawn more easily, because he's the single biggest roadblock in terms of story completion for me

oh big mood lmao but yeah you don't need to take damage each chamber, the game just checks if you've been hit at any point in the previous few and that will trigger a chance for him to appear. I think you need to be a minimum depth in tart for him to appear there but i don't remember the chamber count. tart is usually pretty quick to get through anyway, i wanna say the other biomes didn't have a min chamber depth count?

@open berry @rigid kernel Thanatos encounters have nothing to do with taking damage in previous chamber; that was just a misreading of the lua script by some people that happens to live on. The line was actually for when Zag hit an enemy within 5 seconds or something before a trap kills the enemy, it counts as a kill for Zagreus.

Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to ask this but I need some help with unlocking zeus' last heart. I have read the wiki and searched chat logs in this server but still couldn't figure it out. I have forged bonds with all other characters and finished the whole story. I have done runs with a zeus boon first then each other god after to make sure I have had all the voicelines talking about him. I also got the zeus+demeter duo from both sides (without swapping choices) to make sure I had those dialogues. sorry for the long message.

For several of the olympians I think you just need to max out their keepsake and talk to them while using it.

that's only required for hermes. none of the other olympians have dialogue for maxed keepsake, at most they'll remark on you using their keepsake and that's it. they're not required for other dialogue

|| So a while ago when I was wearing the Hades Keepsake in Elysium I encountered Athena for the first time in the run, and she had some special dialogue related to it. I took a picture of it, I can try to post a picture if y’all want. Anyway, I saw that happened with Hermes earlier but I didn’t take a picture. I assume that each god had something to say while wearing the keepsake. I may have already missed them, but I started a new run with the keepsake at the beginning and none of them said anything. Does anyone have a list of the special dialogue that occurs wearing this keepsake?||

there isn't any dialogue gated behind specific levels of heat. there is dialogue gated behind heat in general, but there isn't dialogue gated behind specific numbers other than, say, the skelly statues.
i cant say with full certainty for hades, but i have gone through meg and theseus dialogue enough that i know they do not have dialogue specific to certain heat levels, outside of extreme measures dialogue

maybe the threshold for the dialogue is actually much less than 32 but some bosses do have dialogue for bumping up the heat maybe a bit too high

it's more around the range of 20 iirc but it's one dialogue. there is little acknowledgement in narrative for high heat
probably mostly for the fact it's beyond the skill of most players so high heat is personal satisfaction and achievement more than anything, as much heat specific dialogue content simply drops off around when bounties max out, aside from the last skelly statue (so in that way it's incorrect on my end to say there's no heat gated dialogue because even just em dialogue is technically gated but like. there's not for 32 heat)
which i kinda get is also disappointing for people who play 30+ but at the same time im glad supergiant didn't really lock much behind high gates, like an achievement for 32 heat statue for instance
