Yeah, Acorn will help a lot. That's the go-to for survivability in Elysium and the biome after that.

So unless you feel very confident in your build, you're usually best off taking that.

Lucky Tooth can sometimes help you make it to Patroclus to get your DDs back if you've been barely scraping by, so that can also be a good option.

But mostly Acorn is best for survival in Elysium.

You don't really gotta go out of your way to play any different. Acorn will generally absorb more damage than the 100 HP you'd get from Lucky Tooth in those fights.

I struggle to think how that is possible. You will only pick two hammers, no matter from room rewards or buying from Charon. If you enter Styx with less than 2 hammers, there will be one there, but I don't think it's possible to have two spawn at Styx (one as tunnel reward, one at Charon)

It's a legendary boon, the prerequisite is another boon from Chaos. It's very rare, you can increase your chances with yarn of Ariadne, Refreshing Nectar from Eurydice or Chaos' keepsake
