The spear just seems weak, it seems to suffer from "middle weapon syndrome" where it's mid-speed and mid-damage and it doesnt really excel at any one thing, at least I've never gotten it to.

I used to use the nectar a lot - but have come to realize that usually I should have what I need by that point and switched to the poms.

Ambrosia only if I have limited boons that can be hit

But I think ultimately, Poms and Nectar are both better than Ambrosia. Poms is almost never wrong, Nectar has its uses and Ambrosia is just often not helpful enough.

If your build is focusing on one specific thing and you don't have many boons total the first option can be great. I find I take it a lot in cast builds hoping to get the cast upgraded.

For unpommables like the dash, yeah, that makes a lot of sense, that's a good point.

But for pommable stuff? Imo scaling from rarity is about equivalent to a single pom, and so you end up losing two chances to get the right boon upgraded and two levels overall

(on most boons - there's a few where the scaling from rarity is more significant, but that's not the casts, afaict)

Prominent roguelikes like BOI and ETG has hundreds of perks you can find. Hades, you won't see half the boons any given run so you're less likely to be om level three with a bunch of unusable horseradish

i have played a lot on mkb and agree about dash-strike

something about two buttons at the same time on different hands

i tried rebinding dash to a mouse button and it made it easier to dash-strike. controller dash-strike is way easier for me to do consistently

probably because its not even two different fingers
