Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone's been having problems with Hades and discord call streaming! I used to be able to do it, but now it only refreshes when I alt-tab. My friend can hear the game up to date, just not the visuals. (Please ping me, i have notifs muted)

@digital garnet I haven't had that specific problem but I've found that discord streaming completely destroys the game's ability to perform my keyboard inputs in a timely fashion, which makes playing almost impossible. Zag will dash and walk a good ten seconds after I actually pressed the buttons to do so.....which makes for very short runs.

I feel like the aegis shield is a little too strong compared to the other weapons, mostly because you can hold that block for a really long time. I think there should be some restrictions on it, like make it automatically go off after a shorter qmount of time or it can only block a certain amount of attacks from the direction
You could turn the whole, hold indefinitely thing into a boon for it

I'd love to see a few different kinds of weapons added to the game namely:
- A Labrys, a dual sided greek axe. Probably with a slower swing but higher damage. Maybe the special could be something like an attack speed and or damage buff on a cooldown period. Similar to a berserk status. Granted there are plenty of ideas the special could be, but the short version of the request is big heavy weapon with heavy damage. Maybe baseline 30-35 damage per strike.
2)Not sure how realistic it is, but some type of summoning weapons would be exceedingly cool. summoning hellhounds, skeletons, what have you, or maybe just having an active pet that you command with attack and special. I can imagine dash and cast would stay much the same.
- Some type of dagger or extremely light weapon that's focus is far more on attack speed than damage. Getting in and out of combat would probably be the main focus. Would like it to have like maybe 2-5 damage per strike but with a stackable bleed debuff, similar to the poison/blight.

i feel like the spear is already a pretty high speed weapon, not to mention the rapid fire on the gun - what would a dagger have over that other than a potential debuff?
i think a lot of people have been asking for various slow/heavy weapons though and that at least does seem to be something missing from the lineup lol

I suppose not much would be different. Im just imagining base attack speed something akin to the [flurry of strikes?] hammer upgrade on the gladius. I was just thinking about it as a mostly dash/dodge based weapon. Have you ever just.... gotten into /the zone/ where you're striking in and out, strike, dash, strike strike striek, dash dash, etc. You know, that feeling you get when you're just... destroying enemies without getting hit xD I just felt like a weapon that not only capatalizes on that, but rewards that type of playstyle would be great.

They've truly created a fearsome character. The fact that she doesn't say anything aside from "murder/murderer" actually adds to the character, because she cannot be reasoned with.

The spear is a very high speed weapon. And it has great range. The shield I think works reasonably well. The gun allows you to use the special and normal in tandem which is great. The sword is basic, but it's your introduction and has greater depth to it with the different swings. The bow is trickiest because you have to learn a cadence with it and if that gets disrupted or you are on the run it's tough to use. It is a great weapon though.
I agree a slow weapon is missing but I don't know if slow is the right speed for Hades. The game itself moves pretty quick so that might be at odds with the design in a fundamental way. But I'm no game designer, and SGG are full of smart, talented folk.

It's all about dodging, Batparade. No need for armor damaging stuff, regular damage is enough (especially since they don't have much armor compared to their health). Try focusing on a single god to get tier 2 and tier 3 boons and get some powerful stuff.

I would love to see more character models for the bad guys. So, when I am attacked by 3 louts for example, it would be cool if they were unique from one another, but still identifiable as louts. This would help me suspend my disbelief that each of these bad guys were a unique person in life.

Hi! I want to buy one more game this month and i am deciding between two right now. I have two questins that would help me decide if hades is the one. Is there a plan to increase the price as the game develops more? How is a build diversity between runs? Do you have to work with what is offered to you or are you more free to do whatewer you want each run?

It's possible that the final price of the game upon release will be higher than it is now, but nothing has been decided. The price will most likely be the same throughout early access, though.
In my opinion, most of the weapons are totally viable right now, and while there are some boons that could be buffed or changed, that's part of what the early access process is about. Build diversity and viability is only going to get better as the game is developed.
While you do need to work with what you get early on, the game introduces tools that allow you to somewhat tailor your runs as you play more and unlock more of the game. If you choose to play with higher difficulty, you can make it so that runs are made or broken by luck/RNG, but if you play on standard difficulty, it's possible to make just about any run work, imo.
Another thing to keep in mind is that the game is unfinished - so if something's maybe not exactly how you like it now, there's a very high chance that it'll be better later.

As to the weapons - each feels pretty unique, each is very much capable of finishing runs. Opinions about weapons seem to differ rather wildly, which imo just shows that it has options for a lot of different playstyles. It takes a while to really get to the parts where you can pick and choose exactly what you want, since the upgrade to switch out room rewards is rather expensive, but even without it I have decent customization in my runs.

Here's a reason a PC gaming computer is probably necessary: time-based stress tests. Often, devs will leave a game running without playing it to see what happens. This serves multiple purposes, including 1) seeing if there are serious memory leaks, 2) seeing if loops properly loop and don't have any strange behaviors, and 3) seeing how much the game taxes the computer if other activities are being run.
Additionally, while the game is playable at lower frame rates, it's certainly not ideal if you're trying to rapidly find a bug; or if the game crashes your computer while testing for bugs, that's not good. A Gaming PC helps a ton in preventing this thanks to their high performance.
At least, that's the thoughts off the top of my head.

A main reason for the PC requirement is that us developers play debug builds, which log a TON of information, and run much slower than the version of the game that is available to the public. The requirement is mainly there to say that if the game already barely runs for you, it probably won't be able to run a debug build well enough to actually get any work done. If Hades runs close to 60fps for you I'd guess that debug builds would still run well enough to work. We also want to avoid any data caps on the network side since we update builds multiple times a day, requiring a lot of bandwidth usage. Hope this is somewhat clarifying!

It's hard to say anything conclusive about its "bad" points because it's constantly being updated and improved - that's what early access means!
There are things that may be irritating to some people now that could be fixed in the very next update
Of course if you choose to participate in early access you may get a say in that, so that's...more than a good or a bad point, just an observation.
The biggest downside to it is...I saw a word for it somewhere but I can't remember it right now, but basically, when you run out all of an NPC's lines and start to feel kind of empty because you can't get anymore conversations with them
You're definitely going to be doing a lot more runs than there is narrative content
(obviously, that's because the game's unfinished)
That doesn't bother everyone though.
Gameplay is in a really solid place right now imo, and like I said, always improving too. Balance changes happen multiple times every update, and we're still due for even more gods and a new weapon in future updates, so it's bound to keep evolving
Basically the only reason I wouldn't recommend it is if you don't like roguelikes, or if you think the constraints of Early Access just as a process (content updates monthly, hard limits on what you can and can't do at any given time, etc.) won't be something you can tolerate

I don't know where to put this, or if it's already been discussed, or if it's even feasible, but I think the addition of Ahklys, Godess of Misery could be interesting. You could meet her in event rooms like Sisyphus, only she'll take a random resource and give you a random resource. Or something along those lines. I think people have had issues with Hades and Discord call before, yeah
You can figure out if it's Epic causing the problem by launching the game directly from its .exe file in Program Files\Epic Games\Hades

I think it may be Discord - I've had some issues with other games via screenshare and had to really tangle with the setup to get things going at all.

My go-to for discord video sharing is to make whatever game I'm running windowed-fullscreen or windowed. Full screen only gives them a still image, but still carries over audio.

OK, Hades is being downloaded.... Is this game as beautiful as a Supergiant Rogue-lite sounds on the face of it or is it better?

I mean, I may be a tiny bit biased, but so far I've honestly been surprised how much I'm enjoying it! I was anxious about it being a rogue-lite because I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the gameplay, but it's been fantastic
and I really love the art direction, with all the golds and moody lighting making a return, it feels like a pivot back towards Transistor's design somewhat

Well Transistor's art design was potentially the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen, and I say that being someone who prides themselves on never fanboying and remaining objectively critical

I presume you're using mouse and keyboard
From what I understand, if you aren't using autoaim then you have to aim for their shadows (same goes for the current end boss)
