There are significantly more enemies, and they all live for far longer while dealing more damage and attacking faster. A lot of your agency is removes because RI takes away all your mirror upgrades and AP2 takes away all your boon choices. You will deal less damage and enemies are tankier

The base game is fairly easy, and it changes quite a bit with adding heat, so I don't think this is an accurate way to depict the game, but I can see why you might think that before increasing heat

I love love LOVE the song "In the Blood" from the H1 soundtrack. I actually use it as an inspirational track for when I'm writing my fantasy character. His touchstone is his adoptive mother. He is a human orphan, and she is an elf. So quite literally, they have no blood connection, but their bond runs deeper than blood, so the song is almost ironic. Easiest place to start off with builds is your mirror and your pacts because the rest really depend on the aspect you’re using

You’d just want to swap the circled ones based on your heat and your weapon and your build

Fiery presence is generally better on weapons whose primary attacking core (attack or special) is chunkier to help hit breakpoints

Shadow presence makes more sense on like fists

In general they’re story related

Just keep talking to the npcs for most of them and boosting you relations with all npcs to get them

Aphros involves forging bonds with the 3 “romance-able” npcs

Also you don’t need to get dem’s favour for the epilogue

Just getting her to max relationship before that counts because you can’t finish her favour until the epilogue is complete

seconding this. i was stuck on meg for probably months but after i got to the point where i was beating her consistently, it was only a few more runs until i was beating the end boss consistently. Meg has a rhythm to her and she has blindspots where, if you’re like me and you like a fast build, you can keep dashing through her and wailing on her. but start by just trying to stay alive as long as possible so you can really internalize what she does

And honestly I second using divine dash too. For a long time, I’d take athena keepsake and reroll until I got divine dash as my first boon, every time. Sometimes you just need to get the hang of staying alive long enough to really get good hits in

Mainly, blade dash can do way more single target damage if you have less dash range (more rifts in one area)

And ravenous will with being unable to pick up bloodstones (depending on the build, but there’s less micromanaging bloodstones for the boost)

most ideal early on because you can pretty much guarantee the boost to rarity of your cores though
