You might have heard this already, but as a heads-up for those who haven't, apparently there's a Discord client exploit going around with .mp4 embeds that executes shell code. In particular, this one is known to be at minimum harvesting credentials from installed mail clients.
If someone is sharing "a video that crashes your client/PC/whatever" for its meme value, chances are that's because it's this.
tl;dr don't play .mp4 embeds from randos you don't know or ones that are supposed to freeze/crash something as a joke. If you have, assume your local passwords are probably compromised.

In the case of GME, there is a true but very temporary demand. Still, a demand nonetheless. The hedge funds need to cover their shorts which means that they need to buy a large amount of stock within a short period. This drives prices up because other people on Reddit are also buying it. Big demand small supply = high price.
The only similarity between a bubble and a short squeeze is that GME is still overvalued af.
