Wanted to submit a bug here (I know, F10) because video is the best way to show several things happening at the same time and any of them may have caused it. The bug is that I couldn't move with WASD, only could dodge. All the things that happened at almost exactly the same time as in the video:

1. Night form ran out

4. New phase of combat started

Aight, hmm. It looks like the default settings got duplicated somehow, and the game is treating that as "custom arguments". If you check the .exe properties, does it have anything like that there?

Gotcha. Try also deleting GlobalSettingsWin.sjson, and if that doesn't work, try setting the launch options in the game's Properties to just one of those, like /SaveCollectionRate=1 - I wonder if it'll accept a manual override

This happens to me too, it seems to happen when your casting special at the end of the duration of night. one time it disabled my dodge too, which was weird. running by holding down dodge still works while you're bugged though

I have verified file integrity, rebooted, logged off my comp to test it shutting down and other various ways. It's not a crash specifically because I'm trying to exit the game itself I think? unless that counts as a crash

FYI to devs: For 5120x2160p users (21:9 4K Ultrawide), the game for whatever reason is maxing out at 3440x1440 even on 4090s and other 5K2K capable GPUs I own using 5K2K monitors. I'll also test the game on my 6K monitor to see if it has similar weird caps for high-res 16:10 users. Hopefully these resolutions caps can be sorted out for ultrawide monitor users.

Merci! And just hard core crashes where the deck constantly has to verify the installation before booting back up. They almost always occur in Erebus, and are preceded by the ground texture splitting, particularly noticeable with shadows that Mel creates from objects and enemies.

||I was sprinting with the poseidon sprint boon, while in the demonic form of Dark Side (Selene), I killed the enemy in the water (outside the walkable area) and then lost all my movement speed. I started recording afterwards. Tried out different abilities to see if it would fix it but it was only fixed after moving on to the next area. Okay, ready to confirm, lighting strike from Fire Extinguisher of Hestia doesn't make any damage and just nulifying all built up scorch. I've capture video with test and couldn't find any trace of damage by this boon. It's not like as if game not showing this damage, there no damage by it. Going to report through f10.

Hi, I think I encountered a bug during the final fight. I did an F10 bug report too (hence the long pause during the video) but I thought a video clip might be clearer in showing what the bug is. Basically, the second time he did his large AOE attack when u have to stand in a small circle to not take damage, the effect never went away, and lasted all the way through to the end of the fight, and even after, during the dialogue. Yea, you're just dangerously close on memory, so you'll likely need to lower the resolution further or find other ways to free up more memory on your system

Not sure where to report this, but I cannot use the bug reporter feature on Steam Deck. I've bound it to the "select" button, the small one on the left above the dpad and left joystick.

I want to point out I had the same bug already, and the bug occured on the same corner of the arena for me as well (as in, the location of where you are supposed to go to dodge the AoE attack was the same when I had this bug). My game has crashed on my 9th night the last 5 runs I attempted, I've wasted hours now. Most recently I was at Chronos and it froze right before I started the 2nd phase... I read the tech-fixes channel to find the save file location, but it doesn't exist. Only my Hades 1 saves are in %userprofile%/Documents/Saved Games. I can't find my Hades 2 saves. I am using Steam.

I thought I'd be clever and was able to afford the game, but had to buy it through Epic.

Is the native Epic version just not a good fit with Steam Deck? I know that Epic doesn't always have the best support among the game community, but I got lucky and was able to afford.

I'd get into the game and controls would work until moving into a new area. Then the A button fails and trying to cast with B will usually pause the game. I haven't been able to change any controller settings or much at all.

I downloaded it through Heroic Launcher. I've gone through several Proton versions (8, 9, Next, Experimental), added it to the steam library, used Steam Runtime to try and override. I can get it to show in my library. Press the play button and it would launch, but then crash back to the Game Page.

Now it refuses to launch in both Desktop and Game mode, with an error message this time; Renderer Creation Failed.

This is in Norwegian, sorry, but I think you get the picture. Windows 11 keeps blocking hades2.exe to run. I uninstall and reinstall and then it may or may not work. Works once, then it's blocked again.

Running Steam as an administrator does seem to help though. Steam craches a few times, then you disable webhelper, and then it starts. Maybe I should reinstall Steam completely!?

I found a workaround for the bug where Melinoe's facing is stuck in the direction of her last attack, and she can't interact or do specials anymore.
If you've got Nectar and there's a boon in the room, gift the god(ess) and it will reset Melinoe's animation state back to normal.

Might be quite an edge case, but for a variety of reasons I'm stuck on a fairly old build of Windows 10 on my laptop, which locks me into older Nvidia drivers. The laptop is also scratching on the min. requirements for the game (GeForce GTX 950M, Intel i7-6500U, 20GB RAM).

Right now I get a generic "Renderer creation failed." error on game start (DirectX 12 is available, max level listed in dxdiag is 12_1).
Is it worth to report this as a bug or would this fall under not supported hardware/OS version?

I’m guessing anything where you are able to interact like that should fix? I couldn’t say for sure cuz in my case it was literally worst case scenario, on fields, last boon, no mini extras and there wasn’t even doors to interact with cuz I couldn’t redeem last boon.
Tried killing enemies, doing all attacks, activating defiance on a cactus, literally nothing worked so if there’s a fix it might be interacting with something else

So I initially downloaded the game in the D drive, and all the progress files have been saved in the D drive "common/Hades II" folder in SteamLibrary. Every time I ran the game on Steam, it opened the correct folder until downloading the update. After that, Steam made a new folder under C drive and opened an empty Hades II folder.

I couldn't interact with anything that required Right Shoulder button, so couldn't use the boon or any gatherables. Gifting was the only one available. So if this bug happened without a boon to gift to, you'd be stuck in the room and unable to use the exit portal, as that also uses right shoulder on the gamepad.

I did just submit a report with my email in regards to being unable to move out of nowhere while in Tartarus. I could only move if I dashed into sprint but otherwise could not walk. First Bug i found is after beating this area and going to the next one, there is this sound bug where the waterflow sound keeps going to the next location. It still continued even when I lost and respawned back to base. I had to quit the game, got back in and it got fixed!

I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, pretty sure it is a bug, but when you use the moon power to turn into an invincible dark goddess (dark transformation?). After it ends it will break the Zeus boon that allows you to target your (B) ground target that also calls lightning. It just turns off that boon completely for the rest of the room; no targeting or damage anymore.

Oh, is THAT what was causing it? I was convinced it was related to using casts that can place the circle far away from you (I think both Hestia and Zeus have boons that due that) and being in either the 3rd or 4th regions. Hadn't pieced together that Darkside was doing it. Lost a good run to that when my cast was only usable for what seemed to be 30% of the time. Also on Steam Deck. Might try to reproduce this on an earlier floor, to make sure that's what causes it for me.

As for the F10 not working, you could try Alt Tabbing next time, as sometimes the bug reporter window doesn't pop up to front automatically.

MAGICK CAST NO LONGER WORKS POST RECENT STEAM UPDATE. As you can see in the video, holding cast won't allow me to shoot the fireball to launch it, also in the screenshot you can clearly see I have the boon. I reported it via F10 in game as well, Only fix is quitting and restarting the game, where it will work for about 1 minute then lock you out again from holding the cast button. I also posted a discussion on this on the steam page and multiple people replied stating they are having the same issue.

@wispy pelican If you have Windows Defender Firewall, this can sometimes interfere with Steam. Turning it off might resolve the issue. If that doesn't work, I'd try running Steam as administrator (right-click Steam shortcut icon > "Properties" > "Run this program as an administrator" > hit Apply and OK). Finally, if that doesn't work, try clearing your Steam download cache: In Steam, go to Steam Settings > Downloads > Clear Download Cache.

"You have to beat Hecate once with every tool equipped. I got all the dialogue with the cat and beat the boss 40+ times and didn't get the incantation. The first run i did ever with the spade equipped she brought up the use of tools and the familiar dialogue. I finally got the incantation after beating her with the spade."
This worked for me, I almost never used the tablet and I soon as I beat Hecate with it equipped it unlocked the familiar recipe. Hope this helps!

in my experience, upon reaching 0 Health, you get healed up to whatever the keepsake says and Moros counts down from 10. During then, you are impervious. If you fail to finish the Encounter by the time Moros says Zero, Death Defiance rules apply if you have any else you die. I'm saying I straight up just died when I hit 0 HP.

I didn't know in game bug reporting so I'll just write it here. Also, it was a audio bug so it does not matter whether I post a screenshot or not. So, this bug happened because I spammed my witch's staff special (right-click) with scorch attack with so much I would hear burning effect kind of thing even in the next encounters. It was upgraded to double attack as well. The sound bug didn't stop after I died and returned to woods and continued through my next run. Restarting the game didn't fix it.

I think the arcana upgrade incantation is bugged. I have all but 2 unlocked, have close to 50 runs of the game. I have not been given the incantation required to upgrade my arcana.s

Unfortunately after finding the save game folder my issue still persist. I wanted to delete the second save slot because if you delete from the game and do not make a new in its place then it won't delete it after you quit the game. I tried to disable steam cloud saves, then deleted it manually from the Saved Games folder, but after enabling Steam Cloud there is no option to snyc the local saves to the Cloud and Steam just automaically downloads the deleted profiles.... Any idea?

I have 2 notable issues, one I'm fairly certain is a bug and another I am simply hoping is a bug cause otherwise it would be a drag.
I have made lots of progress and beaten both paths to their current fullest multiple times. A friend of mine has been playing around the same period as I have, but has made less progress overall. However, he has over a full page of chaos trials available to him while I have not unlocked any other than the 3 you start with. From what I've googled, the trigger is unlocking various aspects, however, I have unlocked every available aspect and tried out multiple in runs and still only have the original 3 chaos trials. Is this a bug or am I missing something?
My second issue that is less likely to be a bug is that I cannot seem to unlock the animal companions. I am aware that it is an incantation given to you by Hecate either when you encounter her as a boss or when you talk to her in the crossroads, however I have done around 50 runs on both paths combined and she has yet to give it to me. I have encountered the cat in the fountain room repeatedly as well as at the docks in the Rift of Thessaly. My running theory is that I have simply done too much to quickly and Hecate has so many things to talk to me about that the animal companions trigger is buried, in which case the way to fix this would be to just continuously get to Hecate and return to the crossroads in hopes of her giving me the message trigger. Is there some other issue here or do I just have to lock in?

Hello, I just stumbled upon a bug.
During my Scylla and the Sirens fight, I couldn’t move. Not even when I remapped my controls to my directional pad (I play on the Steam Deck). It happened after a Death Defiance from the Luckier Tooth, before then I could move. I could also move while sprinting, but I couldn’t change directions.

Also, another bug was that one of the Sea Serpents were invincible, but only one.

I encountered the exact same bug just now, also shadow form hex but it happened in the fields of mourning in a random room and then again in the boss fight. Also a similar bug where the glowing coal boon stopped working (the one where you can aim your cast).

When the Chaos Trial requirement is just fit the "Oath" requirement, then when you beat the final boss, and he dropped "Star Dust" and "Nightmare" in the same time. But if you forget to pick up the "Nightmare" first and you will only get the "Star Dust" (because when you pick up "Star Dust" you will be sent back home immediately) Then you weill never get that Nightmare back.

has anyone else experienced attack, cast and dash not working mid run? I swapped controllers then swapped to keyboard and mouse to see if that was an issue, but it was still happening. When I got back to the crossroads I was then stuck in a sprint and it seemed like controller drift but it was happening on keyboard as well.

I have just unlocked ||6 new chaos trials|| after beating ||eris with fear 4 for the sister blades||. Not sure why this would fix it but if someone else has ||no chaos trials|| for no reason they can try this I guess.

Hi, i have done a lot of runs already all the way to ||Chronos|| but i have yet to find some G Rock ... i know its suposed to appear in the || Mourning Fields || but everytime i go through there i see none, and yes i bring the pickaxe and Hecate shows the resources at the end of the fights , but i haven't seen a single one yet. So much so that it doesnt even show in the inventory as seen

So, I don't know if this is common for everybody else, but on Steam Deck, when you kill Skelly at the same time he has something new to say to you, when he respawns he won't have that new message anymore

Idk where to report bug and is rather small things. 1) there are fishing spot covered by terrain and you have to rely on audio to do. If intentional then cool but may be hard for new players. 2) when you dash through cat to a fishing spot for toula to use she will waste some seconds wandering for an enemy to pounce before fishing for you. could suck up your time. 3) the animation on the fish circle attack in charybdis fight is a little fast. It seems like you should be able to dodge but the attack happens faster than the animation happens.

I've followed the instructions in tech fixes (updated drivers, toggled in game settings, etc) and I'm still getting input lag on every action, and in menus; compared to my friend's computer right next to mine where there is no input lag whatsoever.

Yep, but not really having issues running the game at all, framerate is fine. Just a lot of input delay, and only in Hades 2.

If you mean in the book of shadows, it doesn't seem to be visible while accepting a boon from the gods, which may be a bug since that was a feature in Hades 1

Just wanted to report a bug that was happening consistently with the cast
Here's a list of all boons affecting the cast:
Geyser Ring, Dominion (Dark Side Hex), Gale Force, Seismic Hammer, and Howling Soul
Upon activating Hex the cast was no longer chargeable, and no longer launched with Howling Soul (even if the cast was not used during the hex). This persisted until the next encounter.

The Hexes "DARK SIDE" from Selene, I found this has many "BUGS"

1. Once I got this Hex and left the game later on, when I got back to the same run, I could not use my attack and Special, I could only use sprint and cast.
2. I got the boon called "Howling Soul" from Hades, and after I use "DARK SIDE" , the cast return to the original cast, like the Hades "Howling Soul" just disappeared (This one happened two times)

i have a issue with being told to update my game but not being given a steam update on whats new to the game, i really dont feel comfortable with that
(even hotfixes, i want to know. just put in bug fixes or : boons rebalanced in the notes and that be useful)
