rivals polyphemus is very scary at first but it's possible to get REALLY confident with him to the point that you get poisoned 0-1 times per fight without trying too hard
by contrast rivals Hec is like.... fine at baseline, but at high fear she becomes a pain because of timer and your build not being very good yet in erebus (with debt and forfeit on)

I loved 1’s story, 2’s might compare with the new changes, but i doubt it. The fear system clears the heat system so hard, especially how different the rivals(EM) bosses are in 2 compared to 1

Oh and also, it literally has double the gameplay content.

Secondary consideration also, besides just the standard "Hades 1 is an excellent game on its own merits and shouldn't be rushed through just for the sake of shiny new thing, that also isn't going anywhere", is that SSG is currently in the midst of revising the writing of the Hades 2 ending, and while they've done so via a preview patch players can opt into, they haven't technically officially released the patch with the changes yet.

So if you want a more fulfilling narrative experience, it could be worth waiting a little bit before jumping right into Hades 2 anyways, in which case you may as well finish out all you want to do in 1 first.
