@wise oyster I did my first Nightmare mode it went alright I ended up getting the ghost wrong it was either a myling or poltergeist and notice it was throwing a lot of objects but when I picked poltergeist, it said it was a myling lol

Not a bad first game! I'll often say it's better to survive and be wrong than die and be right. Polter can be tricky sometimes. Every ghost has a 50% chance to throw every 0.5s during a hunt, but Polter has a 100% chance. So non-Polters can get a "hot streak" and seem like they're throwing a lot. What you want to also pay attention to is how far the throws are. Polters will launch just about everything across the room.

One of Insym's tips that I like: If you think it's a Polter, it's not. Because you know when it's a Polter

What I like to do actually is make a few trips from the van at the start to haul at least most of the gear I'm going to need. I'll open the door on the first trip, and that gives the ghost a chance to start cooling down its room, which often makes it easier to find. And then I don't have to go all the way back when I want more gear.

I haven't played in a while and I see a lot more "spikes" on the activity board than I used to. I thought it was meant to give all EMF readings in the map, usually meaning whatever it went up by means it went down by the same amount 20 seconds later, but now I see it go up and then either back down immediately or it's going down by random amounts (up 5 and then down 2 followed by down 1 a few seconds later and nothing else). Did they change this over the past year and a half?
