No. That doesn’t happen really. If someone dies out in the van the only way that happens outside of lag at the end of a hunt is a mod. I’d report whoever was using a mod.

It's not a bug exactly. You must have gotten that sound in the journal twice and deleted the original, leaving the duplicate. I see that you have 3 deletes used, so that seems like the likely scenario. It happened to me yesterday. Make sure you only delete duplicates to prevent that from happening.

They've made most interactions that were photos into video evidence.
So the ghost having turned on the radio used to be a photo of "interaction".

I guess thematically we can assume the cameras have mics on them. Hopefully the radio is sound evidence too, with the sound recorder

• the integrated mics are often not fantastic
• it's easier for editing

It's likely in game universe we might want to make documentaries, so using the sound recorder then becomes pointful

For the tier 2/3 video cameras, they would very likely have a decent audio recorder (the models seem to be high end) which would remove the point of have a separate sound recorders.

Your point about video editing would just mean that you only need to use a sound recorder so you don't need to film and edit it out(given that filming a radio before and after playing has no difference unless it has sound recorded).

I probably going too realistic given its a ghost game but I just thought the radio being played by a ghost should be sound recorded and not filmed. Which I understand your point with making documentaries.

I was walking in to put some audio equipment down to see if i could hear anything in the van, the door closed behind me, and i saw my friend hiding. Me, being the slow idiot i am, continued trying to put the equipment down, saw the ghost, ran to try hide in the closet behind it (which i saw was blocked when dying), and then proceeded to run into the ghost and die immediately lol

Dots have always been, and remain, broken to all hell. This update just revealed how bad it is. here's my collection so far.

and no, it is NOT a client host desync issue, some of these were singleplayer. It is also not just due to 2 emitters, though it seems having 1 makes it more likely to take. But even with just 1 emitter, it also fails on occasion. On top of this, VIDEO evidence is similarly broken with Dots ghosts, leading to videos of clear dots ghosts going unrecorded. Often, the ghost isn't even in Dots mode long enough for a video too. so even when it could be valid, the ghost disappears too soon

I genuinely hope once feedback comes back, they take this seriously and overhaul dots, making it more consistent to record, and making the form last longer. at least long enough to capture video of it. a minimum time the ghost remains in dots form.

Personally, I think they need to get rid of the limit on deleting media, or make it impossible to take duplicate media. it's all well and good they make it impossible to take motion detected or orbs multiple times. but object thrown? door movement? It's rediculous.

I'd lean onto infinite deletes. because once again, we are dealing with digital media. why the hell do we have a limit on digital deletions, and how does it work that we share that limit across up to a maximum of 6 different media devices (presuming 2 different sets of tiered recording material are taken in)? It makes no sense that this arbitrary limit is enforced on a techincal basis. digital media can be erased at will.
