no no it wont skip steps because it shapeshifts. it will skip steps during normal state if they skipped a UV print so i dont think that would apply. you cannot play zero evidence properly on this event

also the missing steps would account for the ghost turning as it cant produce step sounds as it turns

You have to use the DOTS to get them to show up. You'll hear rustling noises near some of the nests. Shine a DOTS on them - T1 works best for it

so you’ll hear like hissing/rustling and go towards it and there’ll be a nest, place dots near the nest and a jackalope will appear.
It’ll either

• jump at you and drain your sanity
• run away and gives you sanity
• turns gold and starts a hunt.

Each rabbit you find will grant some points, the more you find the more you earn. I think it’s like 30 points for finding them all + getting all objectives (about 3/4 per game I’ve experienced) The points will be on the screen at the end of your game, they add towards getting the badges.
