i just want an explanation for this then: as i said.. on single player i was uncrouched near the tanglewood kitchen counter (near the fridge to be precise). it was a thaye not a yokai. i wanted to smudge it, it hunted from the basement, came out the basement door, went right into the garage even from the ghosts's pov i was directly to the left

I tried to go in front of her to check if it will change to me, if it does, Deogens will always have LOS of all players all the time. It will always change to the closest one.

on this test, it didnt have LOS of me , it did not slow down as I was standing still. if it saw me it will slowdown with accordance to the following:
more than 6m: 3 m/s
Between 2.5 - 6m: Assumed speed gradient between 0.4 - 3 m/s
less than 2.5m: 0.4 m/s

all ghosts have 360 degree vision, which gives them line of sight to anyone in the area. It typically has a target based on either distance, or RNG (banshee).

Xbox is having a whole host of issues with crashing and such. They're working on a hotfix right now for xbox folks. Some people have been able to get it to work but if you get crashing issues, you may want to swap back to text until they do a hotfix. Devs know about it 🙂

1. Make sure you're in a lobby, not in a match
2. Try turning Voice to "None", hit "apply", then switch it back to "Voice" and hit apply again
3. Make sure your Option --> Game --> Voice Recognition Mode --> Voice is turned on
4. Make sure your Audio --> Voice Input mode is set. Some people get better results with Voice Activation, others use toggle or push to talk, it's kind of a crapshoot unfortunately.
5. If you crash at the end of a match, switch it back to Text for now.

Deo slows down close to you. Even on 150% ghost speed and 50% player speed you're very slightly faster

You’re not likely to get Doom Slayed during Apoc3 because it’s 0 sanity so it’s more likely to just hunt naturally in the first minute versus its ability

So I joined a random public lobby that was doing 15x on cww. The objectives were immediately checked off as soon as I loaded in. Then, when guessing the ghost, I got it wrong most of the time. But, the game still told me I was right EVERY SINGLE TIME! The people I was playing with said I might be bugged. But after a couple of contracts with them, they started laughing and said something to the host and then I got kicked. (I’m on console btw). Also, one of the guys walked in, and heard the banshee scream twice at once. And a couple contracts later, he got it again as soon as he stepped through the gate. Was this maybe a hacked/exploited lobby? And the people were just acting like they don’t know what’s going?

If you're on Xbox please try this until they bring out a hotfix update
There's been issues with Xbox users with their voice recognition but they (QA) did post

"Swapping back to Voice Recognition Mode: TEXT for now will help until we are able to get a hotfix out."

If you're on PS5 you could try that as well and see if it helps with your crashing issue since the update
If you would like to see minor updates to this issue if something changes, you can find info from the pinned post in tech support by the QA :)

**If you're having issues with voice recognition and not crashing per say, give this a try **
Potential Console Voice Recognition fix:

• If in a game, exit back to the lobby (changing voice recognition won't work mid-game and can break it)
• If voice recognition is enabled, disable it and apply
• Go back and turn voice recognition on and apply
• Enter a game and test it

Note: VOSK only supports basic questions such as "Where are you?", "How old are you?" and "Are you friendly?" for spirit box and "Where are you?", "Where is the bone?" and other basic questions for ouija board. Yes, this means you cannot ask "Do you like me?" or the "How many pickles" question.

easiest ghost to tell based on speed

Thaye : at the beginning of the game, thayes are fast regardless of if they see u or not, quick footsteps, and they tend to hunt more at the beginning too, they can hunt the earliest at 85% sanity i believe, so if it hunts and the ghost is fast off rip, (and not coming towards u) then itll most likely be thaye (or mimic)

deogen : fastest??? ghost in the game, UNLESS they are very close to you, they find you regardless, so best bet is to have a smudge on you when u think a hunt will begin, deogens are gonna find u regardless of where you are, so really its best to just walk in a straight line to see if they slow down when they get near

revanant : Fast ghost when they see u but slooooowwww when they cant, so if u hear a ghost walking slowly around the house, best bet its a rev, and u can test that by waiting for another hunt with a smudge and letting it spot u

Raiju : fast near equipment but they get slower when they get further away, super easy to tell when u arent screaming, best bet to figuring that out is to set up some stuff, listening for any pick ups in pace, and theres ur raiju

moroi : slow during first few hunts, but super fast when ur at 0% sanity, best bet to finding that out is to js let ur sanity drain, then take medicine during the hunt to listen for the change of pace

these next ones you can only find out by being out in the open during a hunt

Jinn : has the ability to move fast when far away from u, but slow down when it gets close, NOT slow like the deo, keep that in mind, and they can only do that when the breaker is on

mare : I believe has the same ability as the jinn, just backwards tho, gets most power from the dark

VOSK only recognizes the same phrases that text had. Windows voice on PC is notorious for just plain misunderstanding you, which is how the pickles question came to be. Some folks say they’ve gotten weird questions to work on console but generally, it won’t register/understand you most of the time if you ask the silly ones on console

`If you're on Xbox please try this until they bring out a hotfix update
There's been issues with Xbox users with their voice recognition but they (QA) did post

"Swapping back to Voice Recognition Mode: TEXT for now will help until we are able to get a hotfix out."

If you're on PS5 you could try that as well and see if it helps with your crashing issue since the update
If you would like to see minor updates to this issue if something changes, you can find info from the pinned post in tech support by the QA :)

**If you're having issues with voice recognition and not crashing per say, give this a try **
Potential Console Voice Recognition fix:

• If in a game, exit back to the lobby (changing voice recognition won't work mid-game and can break it)
• If voice recognition is enabled, disable it and apply
• Go back and turn voice recognition on and apply
• Enter a game and test it

Note: VOSK only supports basic questions such as "Where are you?", "How old are you?" and "Are you friendly?" for spirit box and "Where are you?", "Where is the bone?" and other basic questions for ouija board. Yes, this means you cannot ask "Do you like me?" or the "How many pickles" question.

VOSK is now called “voice” on PC. Windows voice recognition is now called “System Voice.” So yes, but System Voice/Windows is the one that let folks ask the silly questions because it mishears you more often

You have to time it soon as you smudge not at the end of hunts and test more than once

You might be using it wrong, when its hunting, the smudge timer starts when you first stun it
Any other stuns will not reset the timer
