worth mentioning that the gold trophy doesn't require stormy weather. the weather is one of the few things you can change without dropping below 15X. so you can still set it to fog as long as you don't change anything else. that way you can hear the ghost better. congrats on silver though!

Yes, it's supposed to say that. There are cross play servers and Non crossplay servers in preparation for console release when it comes. The 'normal' default option is cross play on, which will include everyone selecting this option. Since it is the default option, this will be the largest percentage of people. If you were to opt out of crossplay servers, you would only see and be able to play with others who have also opted out. For a better experience and more grouping options, it's best to just leave it on currently.

Turning it off will put you in non crossplay servers, as explained above. As 'on' is the default option, you will not see many people in the non crossplay servers. So yes, there is a difference between on and off, as I explained above.

I've found that if I take 3 star pictures of everything valid that could potentially be in the background first, I usually successfully get my ghost picture. (Salt as soon as it's stepped in, written in ghost book, cursed objects, etc) Then the photo only has one thing to focus on for the ghost picture.

Is that how it actually works? Or is that just my confirmation bias?

The stars work by how close you are. Try placing the camera directly over the center of the salt and croutching down. It doesn't have to actually LOOK pretty, (or identifiable at all, really) it just has to be super close and centered.

The board is a soft tell at best. EMF 5 ghosts are still fairly obvious most of the time unless you're in a group, but still better to get a reader for confirmation of course.

Personally I've said it's most likely emf 5 with the board without actually seeing any and then later in the game I've gotten emf 5 but it's not that frequent

Some would say that if it jumps up to five in one go and then down to zero in one go, no stopping through other numbers in between, it might be EMF5. This is just circumstantial evidence, and not a definitive tell. If you get this happen multiple times, then it could probably be EMF5, and if you are between a couple of possible ghosts and one of the missing evidences is EMF5, then you have a strong contender, but we are advised not to take this as gospel, as it can be misleading. For example, a ghost might do two interactions closely together which would show on the board as one big jump, meaning that it is not actually EMF5 but two lower ones combined.

It can be used to roughly estimate an em5 if you see jumps in 5s over and over but it is not guaranteed and therefore it's frowned upon to tell people it's reliable because it really isn't

I have made emf5 guesses on no electronic runs before using that screen and was right about 60% of the time

I have found that it's best not to risk photos of anything that is clipping within the hitbox of something else, as for a 3 star to be counted you need a full clear shot of the entire hitbox of the item, be it a bone, the ghost, salts, etc.

The same thing I posted above goes for your shots as well, the edges of the salt hitbox is within the walls of the doorframe so it doesn't count as a full shot. I figured this out on my own experimenting with shots throughout my own games

I watch this channel a lot and have also noticed that the large majority of failed ghost photos people post and complain about are also not full shots, often the ghost is inside a bed, behind another player, halfway hidden by a door, etc. I'm not sure how accurate my find is as I know that bugs exist and the game isn't perfect, but I think the game as well as Dk himself and his team deserve a bit more credit. I sum most photo issues to player error as every time I make sure I go for clean shots only where I know the ghost is perfectly in my view, and I have no issues whatsoever

My only complaint is how hard it is to photo event shy ghosts with a hunt due to them flickering and leaving it up to a 50/50 chance of actually getting the shot

If you're doing 11.47x, you're probably starting at zero sanity, which means even a Shade will be able to do an event right away. Shadiness only comes into play when you're in the same physical room as it.

Shade cannot do events at 100% sanity and their chances of doing events increases as sanity lowers to 50%. At 50% they have the same chance to do events as any other ghost (with normal multiplier) as long as you're not in it's room. Lots of shade related event things.

it takes about 200 hours if you know what you're doing with grinding strats so players couldve done it with an hour a day at this point

my strat is to just smudge the first hunt maybe try and identify if i somehow can and then loop around female wing for ghost photo, and i will not do any objectives besides cleanse, repel, escape and photo

wraiths, phantoms and banshees are identifieble with their roaming and salt, twins with the speed, mimic with inconsistent behavior between hunts, myling with disturbance and walking noise, yokai with detection as well (tho it's a bit risky) yureis, jinns and goryos will f you up
