For superstring dimension it depends on the weather and whether or not you mean agony 1,2 or 3, in ago 3 you may run into some problems if your account is also under developed in terms of attack and such but below that ig you should do fine

By HoF do you mean HoFi or HoFs ? Assuming you mean HoFs both don't really have meta relevancy these days but they are nice for ER crystals and can help you get some decent SS MA scores

Without her divine key not really, and even with it she's kinda redundant these days. For IMG bosses hoyo mainly favors Rita these days. HoFi still can perform these on some of those weathers but only if you already have the trio team + ranks, investing into it now isn't really a good idea. And as a WS support there are other decent options, not that she's a bad WS support though. On top of that backpulling generally isn't recommended because you already missed out on a decent part of her shill and for HoFi specifically it's rather common for the whole team to have ranks if you ever were to compete on a HoFi DPS weather. Where she might see some relevancy for some accounts is as a RoO support since RoO teammates have rather restrictive team building up until now but that's also a rather niche use case

There isn't really a true answer to this because you can't just treat teams as if they're in a vacuum but rather have to take the boss, mechanics, weathers etc. Into account.

Generally do you understand how to build p2 teams, this is a consistent system across p2 so understanding that would probably be the first thing you'd wanna do

Just to still kinda answer your question || Sushang vita SW || will probably be your best brute force option

Depends a lot usually free valk events consist of mission that require you to do the other events in said version, how long those are depends a bit. Sometimes you can just rush them and sometimes there is a daily mission lock

Usually only 1 of the events ( the main events of the patch ) is a bit more lengthy and the other ones are smaller events that shouldn't take longer than an hour

I literally need my hand held on what to play first. I'm on Chapter 31EX, started Part 2 long enough to get the suit and weapon for VBm, have done some side things. I have all the game modes unlocked but coming back I have no clue what to play. I'm slowly doing events when I feel like doing the card game.

I have so much stamina to use.

You are hitting the point where they start to phase out stamina usage for story so you don't need to think about having enough for story.

You end up with way more stamina then you need, so you use some for what is needed for dailies i.e material expedition and three dorm expeditions and then put the rest into open world and if you have anything left you burn it in dorm expeditions.

For what you should be doing that is up to you. You can continue onwards with story or do the events for this patch. Hot on the Trail and the graduation event should be pretty fast and give decent rewards so completing them is probably a good idea.

Also for a roadmap you can focus on the daily/weekly missions tab first and clear out content one by one, since it is the usual content cycle.
Once you're done for the day you can look through the Events tab and see what you can do right now

As for the open world stages (apho and such) there's an adventure tasks section where choosing the tasks to do (upto 5) takes stamina. That and the daily material event stages are main stamina usage in the endgame

for excess stamina, you can burn it on expedition stages in the dorm tab for free materials/valk fragments

there's also this pin which lists the usual content you unlock as you level up and have to do, I feel like having a quick skim may help #👶beginner-help message

Outside of all this is the story, it stops needing stamina at the stage you're at iirc so you can do that at your own leisure

How do I figure out my teams for all these modes? Especially when I have like no Astral Ring stuff? I built Jade Knight and HoH:E on initial release and haven't touched anything since so I've got VBm and a dream lmao.

For ER the VBm is unironically one of the strongest valks in there, give me a bit to send the guide over

Abyss and MA can vary by weather. For Abyss most of the time just bruteforce with whatever team counts as your strongest.
More complicated for MA since multiple teams but there is a buffed mode available for that so even weak teams can clear eventually, though with lower score but you want to clear at least for the rewards since ranking reward increase there is minor

Here's the very simplified part:

• if you're using the valk as the leader (using her as dps), you only look at the ring type (big blue icon)
• if you're using the valk as a non-leader (as support), you only look at the tags (small icons)

The symbol for the tag is a derivative of the symbol for the ring but this can sometimes be hard to see.

so you can see in your screenshot, you can use various options.

• Obviously you cannot use sparkle for herself, but if you ever get another world star dps leader, you can use sparkle to support her too.
• Shessair earlier suggested HLE and HoFi to support your Sparkle if she's leader. VBm coralie and VBs helia are farmable and are generally weaker. (Helia also is more focused on boosting lightning which sparkle is not)

generally speaking, as long as the tags of the gacha valks match the leader's ring type the boosts will be pretty similar to each other. There are differences that do matter high in the game but we don't have to worry about that too much for now

you can also click the filters menu at the bottom left of the valk menu to search for something more specifically

Rite of Oblivion valks with the Omniscient star tag can also be used with anyone while being notably worse then correct tag valks they are still a lot better then non-matching valks.

Should I Pull AstralOps?

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

Hello, Captain!

Playing Honkai Impact 3rd on Steam has both benefits and drawbacks! No matter what other captains say, please decide if it's for you or not!

** DRAWBACKS **

• Cannot link a Hoyoverse account to your game account. This means no HoyoLab features (like daily check in), no twitch drops, and discord linking to Hoyoverse accounts does not work either. Anything that needs a Hoyoverse account does not work.
• No Crossplay, you can only play through Steam so you cannot play the same account on mobile or use any launchers.
• No Hoyoplay launcher, which lets you play most of your Hoyoverse games from one single launcher.
• Can only play on the Global (EU/NA) servers.

BENEFITS

• Harder to forget your login, you have to lose your Steam account to lose your HI3 account. It is still very possible to lose your Steam account, but as long as you have access to your Steam account you have your HI3 account.
• You can use your Steam wallet to top up.
• Steam tracks your hours played (some custom launchers do this too for those with Hoyoverse accounts.)

For many captains the lack of Hoyoverse account features and lack of crossplay is a dealbreaker, but it's up to you how you plan on playing!

• a forced animation meaning it costs time to play them out
• their attacks aren't always strong (especially from supports)
• they may not always provide effects you need currently
• they cause the valk swapping out to incur a longer swap cooldown (4s > 8s afaik)

and ofc you may not want to swap to stop playing the current valk you're on

mainly maybe your support's buff/debuff effect has worn off and you need to refresh them

i can go into many examples but we'll be here all day

i'll tell you straight up you can prob shut off VBm (coralie's) QTE at least

so this is the QTE's effects

• it deals damage (but vbm isn't the main dps)
• it restores 2 bars to her meter (but we don't need it. We restore it in a different way)
• it lets us tap weapon after that QTE animation to access her thumping finisher (but we get to this attack with a different method)

so this QTE is effectively useless to us and just waste our time

generally VBm as a support mainly opts to swap in > jump > air basic (slams to the ground. This restores the one hammering feel we need) > weapon active finisher (this consumes the hammering feel we just gained)

but maybe i'm getting too ahead. We never discussed how VBm works

• 3 stack buffs from casting weapon 3x (or 1x ult at the start of the fight)
• debuff from hitting the enemy with weapon finisher
• stellar drain from hitting the enemy with weapon finisher #👶beginner-help message
• casting weapon active triggers various effects from her stigmata effects. Stacks twice to extend its duration if you have 3pc
• ult technically has some exclusive stuff but isn't always worth casting
• outburst has exclusive stuff but those are generally passive. No need to manually set up the effects if you're going to outburst either.

Get the base weapons for these from...

• Realms of battle
• either
  • Pledge of Sakura from Foundry (farm G1 fire from mirage)
  • Oath of Judah from Exchange Shop (farm mirage to buy and trash weapons from foundry. More info in the mirage faq in the pins)

You do need to upgrade one weapon from each category to access higher unlocks to spend more spirit jades

once you're done maxing out those upgrades in that menu, jades don't really have any other use and can be trashed into asterite

it's only something to get right now if you want to stack its remaining duration as high as possible but most people don't care for that

in most cases a team consist of one dps and two supports

because of how effects are multipliers, it makes the most sense to start your support effects before swapping in your dps

once your supports wear off, you repeat the cycle. hence rotation

i'm not going to cover too much how to play a valk as a dps. Check the ingame tutorials for a basic introduction. (attack > events tab > tactics class)

for supports, in most cases you want to look at their stigmata 3pc effects. You will generally see something like this https://i.imgur.com/NwA9X0a.png

throughout the stigmata, you will see alot of effects refer to some fancy name specific to the set. In this case it's called heart's splendor for HLE

And the way to start that effect is listed there. You can trigger any (not all) of them to get the effect going. Usually the duration is 25s

For HLE:

• hitting something with weapon skill
• hitting something with QTE
  • this hit condition is important. If you don't hit, it won't activate. Sometimes you can still hit something even if it doesn't take damage and still get the effects but don't worry about that for now
• enter stellar outburst
• enter the battle as leader
• enter stellar surplus state (granted by only specific other valks)

Stigmata 3pc are NOT the only source of support effects though. You do need to explore your valk's skill descriptions, weapons, other stigmata effects, as well as boss effects and stage/weather effects. But 3pc is one of the major ones overall.

It is also worth looking for the stellar drain condition for the valk to help with charging SO. This is under astral ring under valk skills normally.

that is correct, a helia is far less usable than a coralie

coralie is pretty much a wildcard, because she is RoO she can basically plug support holes in any astral ring team. She's even best for support for RoO dpses sometimes, because RoO dpses demands other RoO valks to support them.
helia, however, has been pretty bad from the start having long animations and not really much use in her actual ring type, world star either - as soon as there were better options for world star she got thrown out immediately. Helia is only really used as an extremely copium world star/lightning support

if you really don't want to pull sw dkey you don't have to, you have HoH geared and she should be able to clear at least some of SW's weathers like ice clock which is confirmed to be running in week 3 next patch, but she won't be able to compete against anything specific to astral ring. It depends what abyss ranks you are aiming for, or if you are happy to sit in the lower ones (keep in mind abyss rank directly affects crystal income)

I'll be completely honest, 'more grindable p2 units' is not going to happen - the game is very fair to f2p in the new system despite new characters and their weapons being gacha only, because the extended patch length allows f2ps who put consistent effort into the game to pull pretty much any new valk they want. If you wanted to focus on p1 stuff like old elysias, those mainly become longer side-projects because gearing up (and ranking up - which is required to make them usable in ranks where people are using p2 teams) p1 teams is a long grind.

there isn't really such thing as mid-game anymore because players get catapulted into endgame content very quickly, and you go straight to BiS setups after beginner setups

whether they need their weapon as a support depends on what support utility the weapon offers and how reliant their actual kit is on having the weapon.

stigmata are not complicated anymore, all p2 stigs are farmable now in the foundry

Yes exactly, the problem is with farming stigs is that you can't just go picking up all p2 stigs in the game, you will quickly run out of prisms. You need to evaluate which valkyries you actually use frequently (by trying them out with beginner setups like 2pc fhm) and if you can justify crafting their best set

you're not supposed to craft a lot of p2 stigs because for every new release you get given a free stig box for them and you're extremely likely to get the entire stig set while pulling for weapons plus some duplicates to salvage for prisms

for beginners we only really recommend things like coralie's set if you're swimming in prisms, which you are not so definitely hold off on the idea of crafting p2 stigs for now

I understand you're technically not a beginner but most of the advice for beginners and returnees is the same

Characters under the Astral Ring System will have one ring type (Specialization), and one or multiple tags (Attributes) that will determine how they can form teams. This system is only activated if a Character with Astral Ring is set as the leader. When activated:

• Usually we offer meta advice, focusing on how to stay high in abyss against other players. Doing so helps you gain more crystals.
  • You may consider keeping this old account on the side, while starting a new separate one. A new account has beginner event and lets you reset your previous crystal rewards so you can focus more on new gacha banners earlier.
  • If you want to continue using the current account, that's ok too. It will take more time but it's not impossible to build towards the meta again.
• However, meta is not needed. You can enjoy parts of the game like story and events without the gacha.
  • Asuka is no longer useful but we can still tell you how to build her. However building her to her best performance will be costly and time consuming, and will not achieve any strong results. We can also suggest cheap builds too.

For valks you own, even if they are not the latest meta, you can still find places in the game to appreciate them such as lower abyss, elysian realm, mirage, or seeing them on your main menu, etc

if you see yourself not playing for long or takes many long breaks, not a person who enjoys figuring out details, or don't enjoy playing long periods to improve your score, then maybe consider being more casual about the game

You save the crystals for weapon and only pull for it after getting the character as weapon without character does nothing.
