She is broadly similar to most p2 characters.
You want her for her bosses as without her you are struggling on her shill but her bruteforce performance isn't great as dps and you should expect to lose to anyone which uses the correct dps unless they are misplaying a lot.
As support she has some decent tags and some cases where she is bis but the difference between her and another character with the same tags isn't worth obsessing over.
I would recommend getting her if you can also get her weapon before she leaves

Restarting is making a new account and sticking with it regardless of luck with your first pulls

Rerolling is a lot of effort and can lead to burnout so we don't push it too hard

The only thing is her weapon banner is really short so if you are gonna pull her, you'd have to pull weapon first. She's not really recommended to pull since her usages are quite niche, but it's up to you - you'd use her for a while on a new acc (like almost any geared p2 s rank)

Also ||you need to have a think about sw dkey as well, since you can get her from the free box this patch (or WT if you end up too late) then probably snag both her wep and paws stuff with beginner income if you reroll||

I'm kind of assuming your goal is to play helia because she's cool not because of meta reasons, but with next patch being "cheap" for the majority of players it's the perfect time to be able to afford grabbing an older valk

Not really. The difference between this game and genshin is that eventually in abyss, you'll compete against other players, so every point can potentially matter. It may not be good enough to just merely clear or go after some standard cut off like 3 minutes as you would in GI.

And in general i highly advise not comparing this game to genshin. I understand they are hoyo games and have similarities but this game has a much larger and older age gap as opposed to GI vs HSR vs ZZZ. Frankly you might run into costly misconceptions attempting to do so (many new players mistakenly build crit on elemental valks when elemental damage does not crit in this game as an example)

Anyway signature weapons in this game are very important. They are often

• 30-40% of the valk's personal damage compared to the next best alternative. This difference might be similar to other hoyo games and can be fine when you're only aiming to clear in those games. However in the case of HI3 where you're competing for high scores against others, it's too much of a drop.
• some weapons might have critical utility for the valk's gameplay flow or for specific boss matchups. Depends on the valk
  Overall if you cannot plan to guarantee both a new release valk and weapon together, i rather you skip to better ensure getting the next pair afterwards

the only time i would consider going weaponless is if you wind up with a rerun/free valk past her release. In such cases, trying to catch up spending crystals or real money to get her weapon will be less mileage, and in some cases you may still be able to appreciate the weaponless valk as a support for other teams.

oh one last thing. You might be wondering why the meta is even so important. It's stressed by default because abyss ([quantum manifold] and later on [superstring dimension]) are a major crystal income source. Doing better against other players will reward you with more crystals.

But meta isn't everything. Casually you really don't need anything gacha to enjoy the story or events in this game. Let us know if you're asking for non-meta advice and we can adjust appropriately.

if you're playing properly you shouldn't have to dodge more than 1-2 hits per dps cycle

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

You can also look into ||Youyun the astral op|| which would be a big upgrade for Thelema, especially if you don’t have sera or sonq

Other nice Thelema upgrades are Miss Espionage (currently on banner, not reccomended to pull but often BiS thelema support) and Senadina (another common BiS or nearly support for Thelema, ||free next patch||
