You can play her as support for Law of Ascension and Wheel of destiny teams. May work as a cope dps option for SD stages but her dps performance isn't particularly impactful. If you have gotten Mei she will be better for basically all physical fights.

1 pull away from what exactly? If it's for the guarantee s rank then i'm just going to say anything you can get from it is probably worthless for meta usage, and you're better off delaying it if you haven't finished buying stuff from WT shop yet (assuming the guarantee is for a new s rank)

if it's for spending event and it's going to end soon, then in the future i would encourage you to plan and wait until you have the 10 rolls at a time.

general rule of thumb is to go for the latest release which is XDC mei. However we're kinda near the end of her banner. I wouldn't pull unless you can guarantee herself and her weapon. (40k crystals total cost roughly to be safe)

still good of you to ask though. Sometimes there can be exceptions where we know a current new valk is kinda bad.

but yeah XDC Mei is fine overall if you can afford her in time. Being a CNY valk we do kinda expect her to be a bit more prevalant than others. However if your account is barebone of astral ring stuff, you might struggle using her early on since her supports aren't farmable.

  • do you understand how astral ring team building works?
  • do you understand how the gacha has changed from p1? especially equipment supply?

Astral Ring and Specializations

Allow me to explain, Captain! AichanCool

Characters under the Astral Ring System will have one ring type (Specialization), and one or multiple tags (Attributes) that will determine how they can form teams. This system is only activated if a Character with Astral Ring is set as the leader. When activated:

  • the leader's ring type will decide the team's playstyle.
  • the team will benefit from effects (e.g., Stigmata buffs) that require Astral Ring.
  • the team will gain access to Stellar Outburst, a high damage output state you can enter after charging enough energy (Astral Ring Intensity).

in the future, try to avoid unintentional pulls. Pity does carry over so having it reset on a valk you weren't looking to get is arguably wasteful.

If it happens on a discounted ten pull then it's kinda fine but i would advise you to consider weapon at that point if the valk is new. Weapons are important for huge personal dps damage and sometimes utility for dps and/or support purposes.

if you got a rerun valk via some other way (e.g. free carnival pulls) then you can leave them weaponless for the most part until you find some reasonable (non crystal/pink card costing) way to get them. EDIT: Weaponless valks might still see use as supports mainly rather than as dps (e.g. like the PS we're seing now)

the main idea is

  • every ring type has a particular tag it matches with
  • for leader you look at their ring type
  • for non leader (supports) you look at their tags

so sparkle leader will set down a mark (visibly looks like two rotating fish on the field), and then the entire team (domain resonance tagged valks) takes turn popping on it 6 times each (18 triggers total) to deal damage

again don't stress over (don't spend crystals/pink cards catching up on) weaponless PS. THe main deficit is you won't be able to use her very well as a dps (leader) especially if some bleed scenario shows up (e.g. bleed hos) in abyss (should be more rare nowadays). But as a support she can still perform well. Her weapon doesn't offer her too much in that role and generally damage from a support isn't too significant (it can still matter at a high level but that's not your concern for now)

they're basically very specific weapons from a variety of sources that offer you passive global (in other words to all valks in your account) benefits

#

stellar keys in particular are the newest kind. They're gacha only and do actually have meta relevant use in actual battle currently.

They are made for specific older valks but grants them modern astral ring mechancis to work with newer valks and teams

#

for the most part, we treat stellar keys similar to any regular gacha valk: it's not recommended to catch up on them but you can highly consider them when they are newly released.

the main general ideas behind our recommendations are:

  • meta is important for crystal gain from abyss
  • eventually abyss becomes a place where you contest against other players. simply clearing isn't good enough
  • abyss constantly changes its scenario so you need many valks to build many teams to cover these scenarios.
  • if you're f2p or light spending, the main advice to achieve this broad but solid coverage is to focus on newest release of the patch only (valk and weapon together). You will afford most but not all of them this way, and that is still enough to get far in abyss.
  • you don't have to absolutely meta slave though. There are intermediates to settle for that fits you best.

tbh. i dont really care about all of the endgame. i just want the few character i like and play with them cause i think there are fun to use and all. i play enouth other games where i already stress out with builds (hsr, genshin and single player jrpgs) so i just want the "few" chars i have and enjoy to play with good equipment. thats why i asked on how to get the 1 weapon for luna vow

i guess the main things i would say are that

  • assuming you already own LV valk (was free last patch), getting the stellar key will only cost you 60 pulls or ~17k crystals at worst
  • building LV as an astral ring dps might be awkward for newer or less developed accounts. LV's stellar key makes her a grail ring type. This ring type as a leader wants her supports to have symbiosis tags (can search for this in the valk menu at the bottom left filter button). There aren't any symbiosis supports that are farmable.

It has to be in one run

so abstinence or 2.25x is minimum to get full crystals

the one difficulty above it gets you an emblem but the effect of that is only effective in ER, and it's something you can always get later.

The only reason to get it now is if you want to get as much time remaining duration on it as possible from this point (but this is incredibly minor/unimportant)

Should I Pull AstralOps?

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

  • Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
  • Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30kCrystal).
    • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
  • The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

Ok a few things to note

  • take off darwin set. It's not really a practical set to use. Alot of its activation conditions in its effects are not reasonable. Probably use edison instead. You can give mobi the handel T though.

  • it doesn't seem like you have eden's signature gun. That gun is notable for skipping a big portion of her attacks. Without it i wouldn't recommend using Eden for now.

  • You'll prob use some combination of HoTr, Fischl, VBm Coralie, and/or Pardofelis to support mobi for now the best you can.

  • Mobius is highly sp hungry to keep her ults up cycle after cycle. Ideal teammates for her sustain are Lunar Vow and HoTruth S2. For damage, LV and ScI are probably best although a well invested HoTr and/or Eden can prob be used here and there.

  • it seems you've been opening new patch stig selector boxes preemptively. Consider not doing this in the future. New prism stigs on their own are very minor (their biggest effects are on 3pc) and are hyper specific for their intended users.

If you are pulling for the corresponding weapon, you should open the box AFTER you have 2 different pieces of that stigmata set already. These stigma boxes are optimally used to finish a stigmata set. This also applies to Part 1 stigmata boxes, if you have any.

If you...

  • Obtained the weapon before you got at least 2 stigmata set pieces, stop pulling! Open the box to get the best piece and then craft any missing stigmata (you can find these in Foundry).
  • Already got the full stigmata set before the weapon (there are high chances that you did), keep the box as a collectible or open it, select a random stigma and salvage it for Source Prism.
  • Are skipping or have skipped the corresponding weapon but want to get the Stigmata set, open the box first for the best piece then craft the other two via Foundry.
  • Skipped the weapon and do not intend to craft the Stigmata set, you have no urgent reason to open the box, so keep it.

for vbm it is Tsiolkovsky. All astral ring valk stigs are now craftable in foundry. Beware source prism is a highly bottle necked resources early on though

There are many reasons to not build pity. It's not worth it in 99% of situations.
Please read them and reconsider whether you actually need to build pity:

  • Some banners do not carry pity into others, Please confirm it carries over before even considering building pity.
  • There are events with added rewards for rolling during their durations. Any pity built beforehand will not count towards them!
  • Building pity will risk getting "lucky" with the Valkyrie/weapon early. This resets your pity. A dupe or an incomplete Valkyrie will not be greatly beneficial!
  • If opting to build pity on a weapon supply, it's likely to miss out on later newer stigmas and end up overspending rolls or crafting materials to get them.

VBs does have a long elemental buff but most of her other buffs and debuffs are lightning specific. Can keep her in or try to swap her out for other lesser duration options like RC. Maybe also TA (debuffs enemies as long as her shield stays up) or Shigure Kira (can QTE in passively to apply effects. Turn off envoy of paradise skill so her ult doesn't force a swap)

You may have heard elsewhere that "powercreep is aggresive in hi3" and that's just not really true, it takes years for valkyries to get powercrept directly and it only has a big impact, no pun intended, for the highest abyss tier which is a) not f2p territory anyway and b) the crystal rewards compared to the 2nd highest bracket are kinda mid considering it takes a lot more effort - excluding the extra crystal bonus for being in top 100

What happens instead is that HoYo creates a problem (a new boss or "weather" - old boss with new stage modifiers to benefit a specific team or valk type) and sells a solution (a new valk that has specific mechanics and attributes designed to have a significant advantage on that boss)

P2 teams function completely differently and she's a DPS/support depending on if she's the leader or not. Who she can support has something to do with the astral ring system which functions as the core of p2 Team building

early on biggest income is just spamming story and doing your weekly Elysian Realm valkyrie unlock and clears

also there definitely isn't enough time to get mei with the remaining banner duration but there is a high chance she'll rerun next version so you can save for that

soft tip, most of the time it's better to pivot to other signet choices once you've gotten the Core signet for a flamechaser.
Getting a Kevin core definitely would have helped more than going 9 kalpas signets there. Good job on the clear though SeelePat

There is no benefit to starter compared to other banners so you are just getting older valks at the standard rate.
