if you'd want to only start playing the p2 story after finishing p1 yes, though up until part 2 chapter 3 p2 story does not contain any p1 spoilers, 3 EX is the first chapter where both of the stories tart to connect. your starter manual also wants you to play a bit of part 2 story and that bit would already be enough to get VBm + her weapon

you don't really have anything else to spend your asterite on yet besides maybe some mats, also VBm is a RoO units and a decent support that can slot into any p2 team to at least contribute to the leader bonus and provide some buffs, you'll use her a lot until your roster starts to expand especially in MA

really depends on how quickly u expand ur roster, the idea of getting her sss first is because you will prob be stuck with her for a good while, and the only farmable that you might bring in the case that you dont have a supporting valk for 3/3 leader effect,
but at the same time, its like, hard to say whether going from ss to sss will really matter because if you're still using vbm as cope then you likely not in a top bracket, and ur bracket is likely not going to be filled with sweats, so potentially you can just play better than do better without sss,
but then again, she is something you want to sss eventually because she is still a roo valk, and whenever u get a roo dps, you prob will be using coralie to support, and its unlikely that you will pull another roo units relatively soon

Short Answer:

• It is highly recommended to break through for better rewards, but be aware that it is irreversible!

first of all read through this fully and make sure you understand what to expect to change the next time things reset after you breakthrough (next week after doing so?)

even if your account is ready, maybe you may not enjoy the game with the changes and you won't be able to reverse it so i encourage you to look up some fights to see how they are like

anyway in the future keep in mind that sig gacha weapons are very important for a valk's meta performance

• 30-40% of their personal damage usually compared to the next best alternative
• some of them might have important utility. In HLE's case she restores SP from her weapon active attack with her sig weapon

every p2 valk can be used as a dps or as a support depending on how they are placed in the team and what their ring type/tags are, but without her weapon, you wouldn't consider dps cases

therefore when rolling for any future valk, please try to plan and make sure you can get the weapon. Otherwise consider skipping.

now talking about your specific account, without HLE's weapon...

• your best team is prob sparkle dps with HLE and VBm coralie supports. The dps is World Star while both supports are domain resonance.
• you can still use HoHE as a main dps. This will be a wheel of destiny team so you'll want shadow star supports. HLE is all you have that matches this but WoD teams mainy need just one matching tagged support to function fine enough. For the last slot, use VBm since she can still give you full leader effects (but no core WoD mechanics). Keep in mind HoHE is an older valk so competing veterans will have her at much higher ranks (not saying you should catch up on them). Beware HoHE dps is very lackluster when in charging state (not outburst) and she often wants a different DPS on field (thelema or HLE, but your HLE doesn't have weapon)
• both of these teams aren't really strong neutrally. I expect you struggle and overall be in Agony 1 or 2 if you choose to breakthrough. Perhaps assess what your current abyss standing is like in Masters tier and the difference in crystal income from doing so.

Overall if you determine that your current crystal income will be worse after breaking through, you may consider just holding off until you pull a new gacha valk with her weapon and have a fully gacha supported team for her. (~40k crystals per valk+weap together. Search !faq rates for more details)

• For purple flashes (the enemy will attack vertically) you need to use a regular evade (horizontal)
• for yellow flashes (enemy attacks horizontally) you need to jump

This is a bit of a strange response because normally, you should be aiming for valk and her corresponding gacha weapon together, preferably on their release patch. If you can't afford both you may even consider skipping to save more for something else. This is important in the meta because signature weapon gives:

• 30-40% of their personal damage usually compared to the next best alternative
• some of them might have important utility for their gameplay flow/important niche for specific fights
  and meta is important because you get more crystals from abyss that way.

If you're just here to collect characters and just enjoy story/events then it's fine to skip weapon. maybe tell us more what you're playing the game for

hi guys, maybe dumb question , but i noticed some people got weapons like this that are 6 stars, for example I have elysia's weapon from her banner but mine isn't looking like that so im not sure whether its something to do with upgrades or some other whale thing

you need to pri arm the weapon in the foundry, that'll be unlocked once you reach evel 50

after you reached level 81 you can then upgrade that pri arm to level 65 before that it's still stuck at level 50

pri arming the weapon is already a good upgrade though, you get new/enhanced passives and an atk boost

for most intents and purposes, it's just for detonations

although i think it does turn blue for RoO lead ring type too

Terms:

• Domain Resonance Mark - This is what is created by mark placers of the team. It can be detonated or even devoured for damage.
• Resonance Attack - This refers to attacks that would trigger a detonation of a mark.
• Resonance - This refers to damage from both detonating marks, as well as resonance attacks themselves.
• Quantum Mech Energy - This is gained by detonators of the team, indicating how many resonance attacks they can do. It may restrict other actions of the character, and may have other effects in non-World-Star teams.

tbh understanding quantum mech energy is not that much of an importance, it's really just a fancy way for hoyo to say, you get x amount of this resource and until your valk still has that resource every attack does something special ( let it be reso triggers or more damage ) and then once that energy is gone your attacks are normal again

do note that normally her mark triggers 8 times iirc but as leader, her leader skill gives her two more detonations

for a total of 10

minus 1 from herself so that leaves 9 for her teammates

most teammates detonate 6 times each so with two detonators on the team, you'll want one of them to only detonate half

This is a very curious team by the way. Is this team organized because everyone is fire typing? That doesn't matter with astral ring.

What's important in astral ring is having the leader's ring type match the tags of the supports. In this case, the team is correct because sparkle is World Star, which matches with Domain Resonance tag (which both lantern and coralie has). However:

• VBm Coralie is farmable. If you have any other gacha valks with domain resonance then that's probably better.
• Lantern is solid but still one of the worser domain resonance supports compared to other gacha valks. For this role, she's only good against high hitcounts like Kosma boss.

spamming ults isn't necessarily a good thing either. It depends on what the ult is and what it's doing

VBm's ult in particular usually takes more time than it's worth. You only really do it at the start of the fight when waiting for enemies to spawn.

Secondly that logic of an "expy" replacing their prior version is completely wrong too. Some alternate versions of a character can have different roles and uses that coexists or exists separately from the original. This applies to both games.

• a large amount of personal damage (30-40% more than the next best usually). When everyone else has this weapon, this is too big to ignore. Keep in mind every valk can now be used as a dps if they are the leader.
• Some weapons may give important utility for some valkyries. It'll be very awkward to play them or they may not be able to perform important functions without them.

older character team building is different. It still follows the general idea of 1 dps and 2 supports usually (there are exceptions)

but teams are more element/damage type focused

but keep in mind these teams are very old and out of date now

astral ring is the modern core of teams now

so let's take lunar vow for example

she is a bleed lightning psychic dps

there isn't anything that really boosts psy, mech, qua, etc in the game

details matter alot in hi3 so i hope this encourages you to pay more mind to them

if you want to prepare for her in that sense, use that time to farm her signature gear if you like

Zeno is her stigmata set, already farmable in Foundry

and Lost Conviction is in the Exchange House, so going the Reserve Works route isn't necessary

although it saves you a lot of tedious farming

You can click on it and you'll see a new menu with further passive buffs.

when you click on it, you will see 4 lines (if you have all 4 genes unlocked)
you can select between 2 buffs on each line to apply, the main ones being bonus elemental/physical damage

These are passive buffs that you first need to unlock from upgrading the menu. (To upgrade the menu, you'll need to collect very specific weapons for it, then spend materials to unlock effects from certain categories within it)

Once they are accessible, they aren't permanently on. Instead you need to pay coins periodically to turn them on.

The buffs are small but are still important at the higher levels of the game. For now you can ignore them.

Also what's making you come back to the game? We default to meta advice here for crystal income from abyss, but we can adjust if you have anything more in mind.

If you're coming back to the game to be active in the meta and have no gacha astral ring stuff, I will suggest the idea of restarting a new account. However this is not required, and if you have any attachments (#👶beginner-help message) with your current account it's possible to recover. It'll just take more time. The benefit of a new account is resetting permanent crystals and getting beginner event crystals to jump start into newer gachas.

Also since you're familiar with the game, I would like to discuss changes since you last played. Specifically gacha changes and how team building has changed. The latter is a big topic however.

First of all, the valks you're bringing up are very out of date and not really recommended to spend resources on anymore. Nowadays modern valkyries and teambuilding revolves around astral ring. The team building for this is different from how it used to be.

But going back to your question: there isn't really a filter option. You just have to learn and know what roles each valkyrie have. Teams without Astral Ring are focused on a particular damage type. For example: a fire team can have one fire dps and two fire supports. However a fire support may not always be fire type. Herrscher of Truth is an Ice valkyrie that supports fire and lightning.

For a flamescion dps team,

• Flamescion is the dps
• Herrscher of Truth and Sparkle (Thousand Faced Maestro Cameo) are supports

If you're looking for cheaper options, consider RC, VBm, CN

SD is a new typing added to the game. Beware any type bonus is only a ~30% independent boost. Don't go out of your way for it if your valkyries for it are too weak. Cosmic Expression Griseo is SD type and is technically farmable but she is more of a bleed support than a dps

Data suggests that it does exist (starting at 76 pulls), but it is not confirmed anywhere by HoYoverse so we can't be 100% sure.

Averages and Worst Cases (Valkyrie + All Gear)

• Part 1 vs 2 Average - 140 Pulls (40k ) vs 78 pulls (22k )
• Part 2 "Soft pity valk" + average wep 106 pulls (30k )
• Worst Case:
• Part 1 vs 2 Max - 300 pulls (84k ) vs 150 pulls (42k )

I suggest planning around worst possible outcomes by the way

which means 90 pulls for valk, 60 pulls for weapon. Total is 150 pulls (but we do get a half discount on the first ten roll for a new release so this is more around 145)

take that number and multiply it by 280 and you'll get roughly 40k crystals in cost

There's no 50/50 in this game, so you can plan more consistently. You shouldn't need to take risks or rely on luck. If you can't afford the current patch valk, skip and save for the next one.

The score looks high on its own but keep in mind everything is relative in HI3. Scores are naturally higher in lower tiers when the bosses are weaker. Bosses aren't equal either and some bosses can be weaker/have less content than others too

Lower tiers is also far from more standardized parts of the game (red lotus or nirvana) so it makes approximating it harder.

If you haven't yet, look up a red lotus reference (maybe from hieu le) and see if there's anything in it you can implement there. Of course things are much weaker in agony 2 so you prob will need to cut out some bits or adjust to optimize it. Optimizing in hi3 is about finding a fastest/best fit to the boss hp. Anything that's not astral ring even at its max potential will largely be lackluster in today's meta i'm afraid. But we can still work with it the best we can for now

what's important is not spending any further important resources (crystals, honkai shards, source prisms) because we want to save them for new units.

Especially crystals. Even with max f2p income, we cannot get enough to get every new valk+weapon already. So there's no room to get reruns or astral ops, etc.

Anyway if you can, sending screenshots would be preferrred. For valks, use the grid menu at the bottom right of the valk menu

For restart considerations, I will say most of this is farmable. The main thing that won't be easily reobtainable are going to be HoO valk (reserve work shop which takes a long time to accumulate), and costumes (they prob will show up again time capsule shops but we have no schedule or guarantee about this)

I'm surprised you were considering Flamescion dps earlier because I don't see her weapon here. Keep in mind signature weapons are very important in this game for personal damage (30-40% nowadays. Too much of a loss compared to other players to not have.) and some may have further utility for the valkyrie.

• in the case of flamescion, tranquil arias can be a budget weapon, but you don't have it and it would costly to get now.

The main things you have geared on your account are Spina Astera Rita and Herrscher of Origins Mei. So if you're still sticking with your account, you would build teams around them for now. However

• SpA is 2 generations behind so to speak. She got replaced by MMG Sirin who got replaced by FDD Coralie. Very old and out of date.
• HoO dps was briefly revived in the meta with HoFinality's new gacha weapon to support her, which you don't have. As of this patch, Rita has largely replaced HoO (both are img lightning dps)

Your gears are full of stuff that aren't well maxed out too.

Overall I expect your account to be in agony 1 in abyss if you want to continue with this.

More recent gears here also aren't going to be easy to get back if you choose to restart since they are often in foundry, exchange shop, and reserve works which are all costly and takes alot of time to accumulate.

You can get miss esponage with reroll char and get weapon normally, and still have enough for next patch but its time consiming

bringing this back up again. I don't know how far you got in the story but

you can look in the first link to see how much beginner event gives you, and how much story crystals and similar permanent content gets reset so you can get crystals from them again

it wouldn't the same with helia since helia is more of a mark placer than a detonator
so sena > helia > coralie
1 + 1 + 5 = 7 dets total for sena's mark. 6 for helia's mark.

As for the vita line, yes. 6 QME but sena's mark expires before the 5th and 6th QME triggers in my example. If i used vita's first then she would trigger all of them, but then coralie afterwards would expire the mark early. (which is prob more optimal since you can stop coralie early)

Well you create new account and do 1 or 2 chapter and roll on espionage, if you get her then story again for weapon

Sorry i'm not sure if i fully understand the last part of what you're saying.
But I think it will be easier to start a brand new account. Maybe reroll (constantly make new accounts until you get lucky on gacha early) for Rita valk (this is what Hertz is saying).
If you still want to stick with your old account and NOT restart, that's ok. We will discuss how to use SpA and HoO in that case.

Without restarting: With HoO dps you’ll want to run Golden Diva and then some cope Support like VBM, TA, RC. Spina Astera would want VBM and Chrono Navi

Maybe Fischl is an option, you seem to have her gear but I’ve never used her as a lightning support

So you’d need someone else’s advice there
