• being .3s slower means losing that 1 point that became the difference between 49th and 50th/51st
• the actual threshold i posted had a tie at 50th and 51st which meant the one at 50th got their score earlier. Early bird gets the worm. The game doesn't measure anything more precise for rankings so there's no 862.1 vs 862.9 going on.

you can play the teams in a lot of different ways, but theres a single one that is undoubtly better, even tho that one is usually not the one they explain in the tutorial, and it changes in every place you use it

Well let’s say I am doing one stellar outburst in a run, and I’m doing it part 2. Stellar drain would unlock SO early, and then I spend 30 seconds with it full in transition waiting to trigger

Whereas if I need to SO asap I gotta get in that drain

vita is slow af so sometimes you dont switch to her at all before ring since it applies her buff anyway, thel doesn't need to ever go on the field to apply buffs for wod so if her utility/damage doesnt matter you dont swap to her, songque pops critical points so you use her before your supports on some sd bosses, songque and thel both have combo variety and probably more things im missing

You can think of astral ring as the foundation of all modern teams now. Basically it's a mode that's turned on when you have a valk with astral ring properties as the leader of the team.

With astral ring on, you gain access to

• Astral ring only effects which includes ring types and tags. Some description effects may say...

  • when the valk has the domain resonance tag https://i.imgur.com/sW0lqQv.png (songque astral op effect)
  • during stellar outburst

• astral ring intensity (energy) which is a new button that charges up slowly as you attack. Once full you can trigger it to enter stellar outburst
• Astral Ops which are the fourth member of the team similar to ELFs (passive member you don't control directly). ELFs can be used as astral ops too.

it's not something you necessarily obtain directly. It's just something a valk has. All newer valks have it.

Sometimes older valks get new weapons that gives them astral ring properties (hohe in this case)

yeah. once you have the valk, it turns on or not depending on how they are placed in the team. If you place a non astral ring valk as the leader, then astral ring for the team is OFF

i highly recommend casting aside all knowledge of genshin or other hoyo games away from this game. While there can be similarities, HI3 is an older game by several years

and some conclusions people try to make relating it to other games can lead to some pretty bad mistakes

mainly stigmata are craftable in foundry now. The only things you need to roll for are valk and weapon

Alright cool. So the answer is right now you don’t have any super op battlesuits, but your best two are Lantern (lone destruction shadowchaser, pink with blue circle on bottom left) and VBm (Valkyrie blastmetal, same)

You’ll want to build those two to support next patch release

They’re better than most of your battlesuits by a lot but not as strong as new releases

Right now all your battlesuits are at least a year old, which doesn’t mean they’re bad but it does mean they’re mostly not super op anymore

Because their weather doesn’t run a lot

Your newest three are Lantern, Valkyrie Blastmetal, and Dreamweaver

Of them, Lantern is currently a slightly niche DPS and okay support for some rings, Valkyrie Blastmetal is the best free support in general, and Dreamweaver is a niche dps

Terminal Aide is also a fairly solid generic support

If you have meta goals, broadly speaking meta in this game involves saving up crystals until you can afford to pull a new release and their weapon (weapons are basically obligatory in this game for meta, but dupes are unneeded) and then as you keep pulling new releases you’ll catch up

The next new release is Rita in a bit over two weeks, but if you don’t have a lot of crystals you might want to save for the patch after her which is an anniversary patch and expected to be unusually good

The next really good banner is like I said going to be Battlesuit+equipment supply in about two weeks for Miss Espionage / Rita and her weapon, but if you don’t have a lot of crystals (and it sounds like you don’t) you could just do the discounted 10 pull and then save for the Chinese new year patch

And in the mean time you can use lantern (her signature stigmata’s can be crafted in foundry) with Valkyrie Blastmetal and Terminal Aide as supports

In the future consider referring to chapter number to mitigate potential story details.

The main thing is your crystal count is too low to consider Rita for now. Try to save up until you can safely expect valk and weapon together. By the time you achieved this it may be late in rita's patch to mileage well and/or next new valk details may be known to consider with.

For now you at least have a well functioning HLE team.

Truth be told, i don't know rita's full details but we can at least discuss general aspects to expect from her.

WoD ring type dps. You can support this with HLE. WoD dps generally only needs one tagged valk to get enough rondo uptime for outburst.

• WoD, lightning, and a functional mech (your FDD cant' really dps well) Edit: IMG type are all dps properties you don't really cover yet. But keep in mind abyss schedule is skewed to latest releases. Coverage isn't emphasized equally. As far as element weathers go, generally lightning up means physical down but you have ice to deal against it neutrally.
• img emphasis are generally more niche
• You will miss out on very specific fights tailored to rita but that's the case with any valk you skip, and you can't get them all anyway

Support tag wise, Rita only offers shadow star and Heavenly shift. The latter is notable for making your PS dps viable if she has her weapon but overall Rita doesn't offer many tags to be flexible in team building.

• I have heard of rita being an exceptional shadow star support but currently your roster is too lacking to appreciate this niche. Keep in mind p2 valks are more balanced and lesser options are still pretty close

none of this changes what i said above. Save to roughly 40k/guarantee before considering further (can ask again here at that time). I prob would set sights more on the cny valk after rita instead

be mindful of how much you actually need too. Even if you follow priorities to maximize performance with limited resources, it might not be meaningful if it's still behind enough other people. HoFi isn't new either so others will have her well invested and her scenarios aren't so numerous.

If it was early in the patch with a new valk in an environment full of developing players then i think it makes sense to know what the priority is to potentially gain an edge

but otherwise you may consider just holding off until you can max all at once (except the m stig), encounter an actual situation where you're slightly off by, and/or just skip and save your resources to better build up a future more relevant release instead

okay so the biggest thing I'm noticing is that, for a variety of reasons including the stage effect, the majority of your damage is in stellar outburst. This suggests two plans to me

firstly, try to time things so that you go into RC to combo or ult right before you SO

you really want the buffs up when they matter most

secondly, you could consider not ending your SO early and doing basics in stellar outburst

Generally speaking yes, pull only new valks with their units upon when you can afford both safely (imo 40k crystals). That said, what's your crystal count and prospects currently? Would you have enough by the time ME is here in a few weeks?

Tbh i'm not too sure why ME is being suggested. She doesn't have the tag to support HLE main dps. However you can still swap the leaders around so HLE is supporting ME instead. HLE has the tag for ME's ring type.

At this point it is a bit debatable. We don't know what the valk after ME is going to be like so you may opt to wait until you hear further details before deciding on ME or not.

Imo, ME for a developing account isn't really appealing. Her main ring type is one of the older ones so she might end up niche sooner than later. Img typing is more of a gimmicky/niche matchup as well. Tag-wise she only has two but her ability to support other WoD leaders is actually higher from what i loosely heard. However this isn't meaningful when other options can come close enough and you're not at an account development level to really appreciate this slight advantage over other options. By the time your account develops, ME may not be best anymore either.

As for the upcoming valk, people are anticipating it more highly since it's the CNY valk which generally may have more notable use cases. But bear in mind astral ring valks are more balanced nowadays so it's prob not a complete deal breaker to give up on it in favor of something else if you prefer. Ultimately I can't guarantee anything here for now though.

i think for now i mainly would recommend you to do what you reasonably can with your current HLE team. Needing to go through losses in abyss is normal and you'll eventually wind up in a tier suitable to your current performance capabilities. As long as you focus on pulling new valks w/ weapons, you'll eventually build enough coverage to rise higher.

Yeah that’s tough. You could consider rouald Amusen over Theresa + FHM, the buffs are worse but they last longer which might be worth something (or just Ogier T over Teri), or if you’re not pulling ME then you can upgrade the M stig but I don’t think either of those get you to 6k

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

from that perspective maybe keep gluttony T and FHM MB on RC

but i do encourage trying out both ways
