and for this you need p2 gacha valks to have something with enough value. Basically any new gacha valk is way more effective in all situations then any team you can make with free valks

and for part 2 teams, you specifically want Valkyrie Blastmetal (Coralie) on SSS rank

she is actually a good cope support in most astral ring teams and a viable option to support Rite of Oblivion dps

early on, she will carry you by pretty much oneshotting very old stages

Funny thing is that I get with HLE DPS almost the same score as with BFD DPS, mentioning 15% fire bonus and active buff ability (T button). It seems that either the resistance is not that big or HLE is much better as DPS than BFD overall. I may be wrong though, cannot retain Q-Manifold Redlotus like the OP.

About DPS and Leader, yeah, I believed I knew that DPS = Leader but I got an advice here to try to change the rotation with HLE Leader to use BFD most of the time (but it was too unefficient though)

Overall, you should only affix Best-in-Slot Stigmata and generally aim to get as much Atk as possible on your DPS Valkyries first. Ensure that the Battlesuit/Weapon Type matches what the Affix line demands otherwise the Atk will not apply.

Remember only Physical Damage can crit, and "crit ratios" do not apply to Honkai Impact 3rd.

Affixes spent early on are likely not helpful and are an endless sink late in the game.

The main convoluted part of this is the CRT stat which is different from Crit Rate and Crit Damage, but is just a small part of Crit Rate calculations.

Otherwise, add up all crit rate

and separately add up all crit damage

and that's it in basic terms

for certain valkyries, they may convert overflowing crit rate into crit damage
or they may convert crit damage to maximize crit rate

If you're asking this because you're coming from other hoyoverse games, i recommend you to avoid applying logistics from those games to this one. The approach is different in this game. You don't get as much room to fine tune your stats and ratios as you do in other games. It's not really a focus here. If you're building properly, you'll get enough of a ratio to not think about, and any run where you don't crit enough boils down to just resetting for better luck.

There can be rare exceptions, but overall the options you're picking from are more in large chunks (different support options, astral ops). Some fine tuning does exist (see affix guide above) but for most intents and purposes, don't matter (whatever that's high is fine to get)

and you've seen the recent raffle event. Even f2p can get paid bp vouchers

If you're more casual you may be interested in non meta things too but if you're saying that, then it doesn't sound like that would be the case

Allow me to explain, Captain!

The "Wheel of Destiny" Astral Ring Specialization focuses on one character having the vast majority of field time. In Stellar Outburst, switching Valkyrie is replaced with "Rondo in the Shadows" meaning a phantom is cast that provides buffs without needing to switch character (see image below).

The Wheel of Destiny Specialization goes hand in hand with the "Harmonized Shadow Star" tag. Characters with this tag can transform into a specialized phantom and provide additional buffs (characters without this tag will turn into standard phantoms which have the same icon as the on-field Valkyrie).

clear is a weird word to use here because abyss isn't merely about clearing. It's about doing better than others in the same bracket. Even if you clear, you may still lose trophies if everyone else does better than you.

But agony 1 is considerably lower than more standard tiers like red lotus or agony 3. Honestly, I don't really know how the scaling is like there so i can't give a complete answer. For now it might be fine but this becomes less and less as time goes on with powercreeping.

Obviously it varies by cycles too. HoFi is suited to some and not to others. The main thing to keep in mind is that without dkey

• her main team as a dps loses alot of damage
• she doesn't really support HoO main dps
• she cannot support other astral ring teams

i do want to talk about team building later since there's an issue with something you said about your team but first of all

not all valks are equal but we do expect a valk to have meta uses for a decent length of time

so you don't really want to roll on reruns ever. Even if the valk is one of the best at the time, you're possibly not getting as much long term use out of her

and also generally a valk has the most uses at her release, so picking her up late means you missed out on those early many use cases

astral ring valks are more balanced now too. So as long as the team building makes sense, the valks are usually good enough even if they aren't the best

this brings me to my next question though. Do you understand how astral ring team building works?

Because i can tell you Vita as a leader doesn't work with PAWS as a support

i don't care how good a valk may be. if you can't get both her and her weapon you would have to skip unfortunately

the worst thing you can do is to constantly pick up new characters without weapons and vice versa

that's just alot of half baked stuff that can't do anything

if you're a collector that isn't meta, then that's more valid

anyway keep in mind a weapon is usually

• 30-40% of the valk's personal dps. That's too much to ignore when everyone else also has it
• some valks have important effects for their gameplay flow from their weapon. So not having the weapon can mean you can't do important things

one quick example is not having HLE's weapon means she doesn't restore sp from her weapon active

and she needs that sp to ult

the only exception i would make is if you get an older valk for free without spending crystals and cards

for some valks, the weapon isn't as important and you can still make use of them as a support

and for a rerun, spending crystals for the weapon is a bit of a waste when those crystals can go to a newer release that may have way more uses long term

but yeah for anything you're spending crystals on, always plan for valk+weapon together. 40k crystals (safe number. it might more be around 30k but i rather you plan more safe than sorry)

tldr if you want to be meta and start moving to agony 3 or even red lotus

• don't pull reruns. that means forget about PS sushang or HoFi dkey
• save to 40k crystals. Consider rita next patch (I'm not saying to definitely get her). Also consider the next new release after rita.
• Your main teams for now are
  • FDD coralie dps with vita and helia supports
  • Vita main dps with two coralies as supports
• your helia team looks incomplete (unless you have one more actual grail support). Maybe avoid her as a leader for now (can still try her out but don't expect as much)

oh one more thing i didn't cover. Forget about all other banners like gacha ops too. The only thing you want to spend on are new releases (valk and weapon together)

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

If you are a f2p meta player, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

you have 3 damage modifiers

10% total damage bonus
5% elemental damage bonus
3% total damage bonus

you want to look for the modifiers that have the same name, so 10% and 3% are both total damage bonuses, we will add them
now we have 13% total damage bonus, the last buff is an elemental damage bonus, since it doesnt share the same name, we will multiply the 2
13% (1.13) and 5% (1.05) when multiplied gives us 1.1865 (or 18.65% increase)

with smaller amount of buffs this looks like a tiny increase 0.65% like who cares
but keep in mind that in hi3, you get buffs that give you hundres of stat bonuses just for existing, so while 3 small buffs are a 0.65% difference, imagine more bigger buffs

PAWS signature weapon is gacha only for now. If she gets old enough (very far in the future from now) you can expect it to be more accessible in other ways like paid battle pass or spending event.

If you need a cope weapon, I don't recommend maxing synergy of tada the blow. Just craft it and don't upgrade it. (don't push from 35/35 to 1/45). For now you can still prob use PAWS for support uses but don't expect main dps use cases. Even with max Tada you'll prob still be 30-40% damage off from her actual signature so it's just a waste of mats.

Leaving tada at 35/35 means you can trash it later for full efficiency (3 honkai shards = 150 AE imaginons)
