A valk with a specific attribute (tag) may not have the ring type. One example of such a team would be

Thelema leader with VBs Helia and Sparkle.
All valks on this team have the domain resonance tag (supports world star). However Thelema is not a world star leader. She is wheel of destiny (wants harmonized shadow star tag, which only thelema has on this team)

there's various factors but arguably the main one is she provides team breach which lets the team bypass a portion of the enemy's resistance/defense stats

this sounds very important but for most intents and purposes it actually isn't that big compared to other supports that lack it. It's only a big deal if you're competing in the highest tiers of the game where tiny differences can matter

So for story and events, you don't need anything for that. Barebone stuff can clear early story. Otherwise the game give you trial stuff to use that are good enough.

Yeah so when more regular players talk about preparing your account for content, they prob more refer to Abyss (which is superstring dimension at lv 81+ captain levels, q-manifold for those below)

This is emphasized because you get alot of crystals from abyss but to do well there, you eventually (in Superstring) will need to compete against other players for high scores (fast clears) on the boss

but the thing about abyss is that content within it constantly changes. We have abyss twice every week, with all sorts of different effects and bosses

so just having one team isn't going to get you very far. You eventually want to have many newer and well built valkyries (s0 valk and her signature weapon at synergy 1 is enough) for many teams for coverage. You don't need to cover every single situation, but more positive than negative to stay in a higher tier for higher crystal income

said situations are dictated by weathers and boss types, resistances and weaknesses

That's why we're saying you can keep your account. You already have some gacha only astral ring stuff like lantern, fdd, hohe, rs. The thing about astral ring valks is you can make multiple teams from just a few of them.

Certainly some of these are older than others and some of them are quite lackluster compared to other options nowadays, but astral ring is more balanced than back in part 1. Numbers across similar options are closer. (Not to say power creep doesn't exist though)

if you still want to start a new account, that's up to you (keep your old account login info handy if you do so). Certainly, you can reallocate your beginner/one time crystals more efficiently on more recent stuff and get them more quickly. However, keep in mind you'll lose all that is mentioned above, and all limited crystals you got up to that point too.

Also keep in mind the beginner situation is incredibly awkward right now. They don't make farmables to support newer releases so early teams are very jank. As far as the newest ring type goes, you have FDD and RS already for symbiosis tags, so you are capable of supporting Grail of Infinitude leaders.

We may tell returnees to restart their account if they only have part 1 stuff because all that past crystals spent are on stuff barely in the meta anymore. However that is not the case for you.

(memorial arena is another meta gamemode mentioned but the rewards from ranking well there aren't important. You just need to clear the fights regardless of ranking/time for the actual rewards)

the boxes don't expire so there's no need to decide now, generally i'd keep the boxes until you have enough to 3* said elf since before that DS is just straight up better. If you do have enough to 3* an elf at some point you could have a look at this write up Sairaan made about an elf box a while ago #👶beginner-help message it covers quite a bit so take it so take your time. The general consensus is kia elf yeah since her high SO dmg in lightning and fire damage can be notable but you're completely fine with DS for RL and below and we can also take your personal preferences into consideration

u can get asterite from salvaging daily farmed Advanced Skill Material (keep around 200 for lvling stuffs), weekly raid Jade (if u dont need them for ur Divine keys)

coin source is rarer. either OW task or expedition

expedition is fine though. they increase the daily stamina threshold for expedition to 240 from p1 120. if u use stamina potion u can do a lot of expedition for both Imaginon and Coin
every two weeks the armada shop will have ~200k coins too
not too much but thats also a source lol
idk if its good or bad since the big choices of that shops are dorm tickets and honkai cube shard
about minor sources u can salvage collected Schicksal HQ mech crafting material, Dorm upgrade/currency material, the worst (gray) exp chip, the liquid material for 3* gears, etc. lol i just listed the coin salvaging options in inventory

Depends on the unit. for all p2 valks (yes Sparkle falls in this category) the stigmatas are craftable from the foundry. It's just recommended to finish pulling the weapon before doing so since you get a lot of dupes during that.
