The game can be divided into part 1 and part 2 based on story chapters, and part 2 Valkyries use the astral ring system

Part 2 Valkyries have craftable stigmata, whereas in part 1 you had to keep rolling until you got it

Monthly card is significantly more valuable from a crystals perspective

Bpass is still solid value though and you get some useful mats, plus crystallum which can be turned into dkeys or not fully outdated battlesuits or such

I wouldn’t get knight bpass unless I was already using monthly card or really wanted a specific character from it but if either was true it’s a decent grab

In terms of reserve works I think only HoHE Hofi and HoO still have teams? And the first two need their gacha dkey and the last one needs their full gear and teammates

Battlesuits from the version exclusive store knight unlocks are a little less dated but they’re still pretty dated and they’re more expensive too

The best you should hope for if you get them is very niche utility

everything comes gradually that there's no set way to "grind" apart from playing the game and doing the daily missions/ starter book missions.

important one is stuff like the supply cards and crystallum though but thats just time/money gated.
Having about close to ~100 of adv skill mats, fluid blocks and phase shifters in prep for new releases is fine. More depends on how loaded the patch is.
Definitely save SC-metals and torus though since you need ~500 and ~300 per pri for any new release you get.

if i have to draw some relation to other hoyo games, think about how HSR constantly shift across various damage type emphasis (FUA DoT ult etc) and various endgame modes (PF MOC AS)

the big thing in HI3 is that there are two abyss cycles every week which is much more frequent

so there's a bigger emphasis on having wider but still strong coverage. S.0 valk and synergy 1 weapon (one copy of each. no need for dupes) is the competitive standard

as f2p you may not be able to save enough for every single release, but as long as you get what crystals you can, you will afford enough of them to eventually contest against most of these abyss scenarios for a net gain

it's a common mistake for new players to think they need one of every element

but emphasis on abyss is not even

endgame content especially early in the patch is more focused on the latest releases

just like how we saw alot of content suitable for castorice upon her release in hsr

so as long as you focus on the latest releases, you'll mileage well with them

meanwhile if you try to pick up sparkle, her emphasized content is much more rare now

elements/damage types aren't the only factors either. HI3 finds all sorts of ways to emphasize something

you can see there are some fire and lightning which are damage types

but then there's other conditions like ignite and paralyze which are statuses

so the game can take all sorts of angles to make a particular team or valk dps stand out

having an ice valk isn't going to handle every ice situation. HoHE is an ice psychic dps but will fair poorly against huodou, who often gets ice weather but the boss itself is bio type, which counters hohe's psy type

and overall the best and simplest general idea i can offer is to just focus on getting new releases

although if you still want to consider sparkle, we can resume our talk from yesterday

we talked about her ring type as a primary dps but we haven't talked about her tags as a support, or her damage type and valk typing

I stopped doing part 1 main story when I finished the stages and reached the last 3 open worlds (kolosten, er, moon) because I thought crystals would be too slow to gain because open world but I'm almost done with kolosten and it actually gave a bunch of pulls very fast. Are er and moon open worlds after it similar or kinda less or slower/more annoying to get?

When I mean slower/more annoying I mean if it feels more grindy. Because for kolosten so far just completing the quests that guide you gives a bunch of pulls by itself

Without having to really grind the self contained progression

Basically do you get roughly as many pulls in er and moon open world by similarly mostly ignoring the grindy portion and just breezing through the quests?

Should I Pull AstralOps?

NOO CAPTAIN!

From a meta standpoint, you should not pull gacha AstralOps - only players who are retaining or trying to retain Nirvana should consider it if they have the funds (unlikely for f2p players).

Reasons:

• Dreamseeker is good enough despite being free.
• Too expensive, especially if they need SS (~20-30k).
  • AstralOps have the same cost as a gacha weapon, therefore pulling one may result in being unable to afford a Valkyrie's weapon down the line (for meta players, this means skipping said Valkyrie entirely).
• The damage and score increase they provide in Redlotus and below is often minimal and not needed to retain.

I'd say without considering what the buffs are, the usual order is Wep > T > B > M
