If you don't have any other gacha operators, Coralie (valkyrie blastmetal) can be obtained via asterite shop and part 2 story (also has her weapon). Next best is Valkyrie Boltstorm (Asterite shop) but it will take a bit to buy her so you can use someone like reverist calico as an even more cope option in the mean time

if you have any gacha operators they're going to be better than coralie

but you won't if you're new

honkai descriptions/skills are often a bit over the place and pretty overwhelming when you're just starting out but already trying to read the skills is a good step in the right direction

When looking at a reference video, I encourage you to become familiar with the moves of your valkyries. You can try accessing them in the last stage of their tactics class (attack > events tab) tutorials for a stage that lets you refill your outburst and sp.

Once you're familiar, don't try to watch through the entire video at once. Make use of pausing or slowing the video down to digest each action. However, I understand some actions may be more subtle than others. This isn't really a two step process either. You may have to go back and forth from this and the above.

As mango said, since you have PS, beware of any adjustments you will have to make.

One big general rule of any team rotating is you're setting up supporting effects so the dps can capitalize off of them afterwards. Some effects can be very clear (buff icons above your hp bar) while others may be more subtle and you'll have to plan or mentally keep track of them.

If you're ever wondering why a particular action is done in a video, that's when you should try looking through the skill descriptions (and again, don't try to go through it all at once. It's too much that way)

PAWS lead but the lead is the dps. So you don't usually want to do anything with her atm since no support effects are up yet.

Swap to coralie. She has actions she can do while we're waiting for the boss to spawn.

• Weapon active
  • mainly for 3pc stig effect
  • this also triggers buffs from her skills but it's redundant with what we're doing next
• immediately cancel the animation into ult
  • maxes her passive buff (see above your hp bar)
  • restores slight (3) astral ring intensity
  • normally it would trigger 2pc stigmata and debuffs the enemy but in this case it hits nothing
  • coralie's ult isn't usually used anywhere else in the fight since the time it takes isn't usually worth it
  • abyss gamemode starts you with some sp. Beware other gamemodes like arena may not provide that. In such case, you can try weapon active 2x > jump > basic > weapon
• jump > basic attack (slam to the ground. not the spin) > weapon active for the thumping finisher move
  • debuffs enemy
  • Triggers stellar drain which restores astral ring intensity but you can only trigger this once every outburst cycle
  • Second weapon active input for extending 3pc stigmata effect
  • normally a weapon active would increase your passive buff stacks but the ult already maxed it to 3. So this will only refresh the duration.

not going to elaborate on boltstorm stuff too much since you have PS but the main thing i'll note is i did a weapon active after her aim mode finisher to trigger PAWS qte. This is technically optional but i found the timing to QTE early too tight.

For PAWS inputs please refer to her ingame tutorial. The general idea is to ult to full meter and hold attack. If you cannot ult, then weapon active or basic attack will refill sp.

i wouldn't say absolutely no differences. Controls of course would differ and with that there will be changes in precision, mappings, ability to buffer certain inputs, personal preferences, etc, but largely speaking any control scheme can attain competitive outcomes.

if you cant clear q-manifold agony, assuming you are on cope gear, see if you can improve your gear at all or send a recording of your run so we can know specifically where the issues stems from (not applying support buffs, spamming buttons etc...)

if she's SS you can start with her ult to instantly gain 3 stacks, but you would never use her ult after that

In case anyone else is wondering… I remember asking what the numbers on the Aponia thingies mean and no-one seemed to know and I finally figured it out — if you don’t destroy all of ’em before that number reaches 0, then they get the shield back

Right now I’m having major issues with both physical and PSY teams. I would really like some help figuring out how to form effective teams.

Characters are not equal in this game. There are various kinds of farmables. Gacha only valks as well and some are older and less valued than others.

When it comes to rolling in this game, if you're looking for meta value always save crystals until you have good odds or near guarantees of getting both the newest valk of the patch and her weapon. Signature weapons competitively are mostly non negotiable for performance.

this is an old game so it's going to be overwhelming at first but take things at your own pace for now is my main advice, and avoid spending crystals or resources if you're not sure of their value

oh if you want to try out most characters in the game, you can do so via attack > events tab > tactics class for their tutorials. You'll be provided trials so you don't even need to own them
