keep in mind you dont need your own units for the story (starting chapter 7 you are given trial units to use instead) so pulling is specifically for endgame content such as abyss or ma

dont need to go through all of these right now, but if you end up reaching a point where these get confusing it doesnt hurt to check

in most cases, signature stigmata are the best in slot pieces for a unit
signature just means that its made for that specific unit

there are 4 pieces of equipment each valkyrie has, a weapon and 3 stigmata slots
stigmatas are pieces that directly power up a valk through specifc buffs and get stronger when you combine pieces of the same set

no, you can think of the stigmatas as artifacts, but their main stats never change and their effects increase with the level of the stigmata

however, there are 2 substat slots that you can roll (called affixes). of course you dont need to worry about this until your account is more established as you can get away with it early on

well its not completely wrong, but powercreep in this game is misunderstood, the units themselves dont become weaker 1 patch after their release or anything crazy like that

the way the meta in this game works is the units who will perform the best in abyss are the units who are considered "meta"
of course, who can clear abyss depends on a lot of factors, newer units will be stronger but not always the best option

in abyss there is a "weather" system that dictates which valks are buffed and nerfed for that specifc abyss weather, valks who are buffed will be the preferable option
and when a new valk releases, weather is usually biased towards her (what we refer to as shill) which makes the newer valk a better unit for that specific patch

Well the buff thing is something all gacha games do. Can't really complain about that

as long as its not as bad as hsr, and genshin's stygian onslaught

and the other important factor is disturbance, to give a basic tl;dr the better the players perform in their bracket, the higher this number goes, when this number goes higher the enemies become stronger
so if all players are pulling the new unit and performing well in abyss, then abyss will get harder, and older units with lower scalings will be "powercrept" in a sense

At first its easier, I'd say with experience and a more established account it gets easier

But unlike other hoyo games you have to keep in mind units are heavily reliant on their signature equipment (more specifically their weapon)

To be very specific, her last remaining BiS use is only with Trio. She used to be BiS with Lunar Vow, but SImp replaced her. Starless weathers where ignite valks are favored are still her BiS, but Sparkle is required as second support. ||General ignite will have a new part 2 valkyrie next patch that will push that niche into Astral Ring teams only, replacing the need for HoTr entirely.||

Also a note on stygian onslaught, the highest difficulties are designed for whales and as such you dont get primos as rewards. If you're trying to farm from it the first 3 diffulties are also finishable through coop. Difficulty 4 is for people who have 3 teams built, and Difficulty 5 is completely aimed at whales.

and once you get a gacha char and their weapon you mainly just pair them with Coralie and/or Helia and that's your go to team till you pull something else in the future

It applies if you want to compete in any way/rank well in abyss. Lower abyss ranks anything goes but when part of a characters kit or major qol is locked behind weapon it becomes needed for higher tiers.

~30k+ is what's recommended to save for a 75% chance, pity is 40.6k on debut banners (including weapon).
It's at worst 2 patches worth of saving but in the average case you can pull most stuff with the occasional skip. All upto rng

This route can be discarded if you don't care for abyss.

was this from clearing abstinence difficulty? If so then you can take it easy. The main priority are the crystals and abstinence gives you the full weekly amount

The one from corruption and above is only for the emblem which you can get at any other week. It's a non permanent emblem too so you really only need to get it once for collection

only get it now if you care about making that limited time availability of the emblem extend for as long as possible but that particular emblem is not used in any of the main modes of the game. It grants ER only effects. I suppose you can consider it if you want to focus especially on maximizing ER performance but this isn't necessary either.
