Refer to the faq on how to go straight to part 2 story early. The first arc of part 2 has little mentions of part 1. At the very least you should progress in it enough for coralie and her signature hammer which shouldn't take long.

check the following image for a measure of each part 2 story chapter's lengths. Spoiler tagging in case knowing the lengths can create any impressions you would like to avoid.

anyway the reason why it's important to get both valk and their weapon is because weapons often are a huge portion of their personal damage, and often have important utilities for them to function

it is also the meta standard to have a valk with her weapon

so having only one or the other tends to be very cope or even dysfunctional

when spending crystals, you should have some sort of plan to guarantee both before the banner goes away at worst (late in the game it's more preferably at the start of the patch though)

The screenshot of the advice also wasnt an advice directly pointed at you and it could be they discussed account specific problems. We recommend players to roll for Kiana while staying above 16.8k crystals to guarantee weapon, maybe this is why you have this number in mind the whole time

but you cannot get enough in time no matter what

we don't want to wind up with only weapon or valk

but you can still try to be lucky while staying safe

so while staying above the amount you need to guarantee weapon, any excess can be tossed early on the valk banner

if you get lucky on the valk, great. You already planned enough crystals to guarantee weapons afterwards

if you don't get lucky, that's ok. Just stop. The pity will carry over and you won't effectively lose anything or force yourself into a bad situation

if you roll below weapon guarantee to force getting the valk, then you're now gambling to get lucky on weapon and it's likely you won't get lucky

and yeah this is the main banner of interest. However don't roll on it now. At least go above 17k. Unless you're willing to binge playing the game for the week, what's likely going to happen is that banner will leave before you save enough

and instead you'll focus on the next new character in the next patch

if you're f2p keep in mind income in this game is limited and you may not really have enough to pull all new valks and weapons (esp with bad luck)

so with that in mind, it's difficult to expect to pull older units too.

"catching up" to the meta in this game is more about keeping up with new releases the best you can while waiting for the older meta to fall off

so if you don't have stamina excessive of the highest stamina to expend, be mindful of using that button

LoA doesn't have a strict rotation. It's very flexible.

Main idea is to set up all support effects first. Songque gets hers from QTE mainly. Kiana has it at the start if she's lead, and triggers it from qte and CA. Sparkle has hers passively.

Loosely speaking you can cycle freely across two or all three of them but how you do so will take much more specific considerations such as damage, animation time, utilities or environmental factors (mobs for fws)

also keep in mind your supports can generate 15 ARI from qte once every 16s

fire damage and total damage are also some of the more common and stackable buffs. With how the formula is like, you can run into diminishing returns easily with them so it's not actually as notable as the numbers may seem

she just QTEs in and does her weapon shot. You generally can check the valk's 3pc effect to see how to access their main team effects. This also resets swap cd and qtes in an loa team and hits weakpoints as mentioned earlier.

Ofc there can be exceptions for optimizations.

In the case of JDS i'm actually not really familiar beyond her 3pc.

anyway i hate to be abrupt but i don't have too much more time

• JDS mainly triggers her team buffs via QTE.
  • CA is an alternate condition which may be relevant if she's the main dps and is swapping off at the end of her dps cycle for other teammates to deal damage as they set up their own effects again.
  • there may be more as i mentioned for thelema above. I'm not familiar with them so you'll need to look and explore

Aside from helping the team, JDS may value casting her CA as well for the following

• for supporting an LoA team, the CA will reset the leader's swap cd and qte
• if she has her signature weapon, she'll deal good damage with her attacks
• if she's fighting an SD type enemy, her first CA per enemy phase will force their first critical point early. This lets you skip whittling their regular hp down to that first critical point. If you're not sure what I'm saying then do check out the SD type tutorial in attack > events > tactics class > mechanics tab
• the CA animation also stalls the timer well in memorial arena (these are called suspended animations but there isn't really anything in game that makes this clear. Just need to observe and learn what moves have them)

if she lacks her signature weapon, then you may opt to skip her CA, and have HoHE swap in to reset the leader's swap cd and qte instead
