if you're gonna ask here we're gonna be a bit biased so i'd suggest to try it out and judge for yourself, one think i wanna note is that one of the rather important endgame modes is competitive meaning you compete against other player in terms of how fast you can beat a boss
imo this isnt as bad as it sounds but everyone feels different about this, though if you're casual you can also choose to not really engage with this gammemode and chill in lower tiers where things arent as heated, though lower tiers also mean less crystals. In general i enjoy the gameplay and the story but this is subjective again

The game is very f2p friendly and casual friendly, retaining red lotus is all you need for max comfort and crystal income and the game is very generous with income and freebies

while i do agree that the game itself is relatively f2p friendly just to put it in a perspective you might struggle a bit if you wanna compete at the highest abyss rank consistently, i'm not saying that it's completely impossible it will just take a lot of time and some very meta dedicated pulling decisions, so if this is something you feel like you might be intersted in keep that in mind
other than that as already mentioned the second lowest rank (redlotus) is rather chill and once you've settled into that rank you can also make some more casual/personalised decisions while still maintaining that rank.
