idk if they change it again, but like 3-4 yrs ago was increased to 4gb the default, keep in mind that depending of the game, selecting a higher option are not going to do anything if they save the shaders on another folder or if they have an "internal size limit"
still remember that stuttering can be caused be many things, that option only can help if you play many games that uses the default folder, that way is not "overwriting" the older shader on the folder too soon

even if 2 brands have the same specs, the cooling can have a huge impact on the performance

the wattage of the GPU might have some effect on the performance too

not that im aware of for laptops, obviously the mobile version supports ARM cpus but the pc requirements only list x86 processors

and the HI3 mac version only supports the m2 (or m1 i forgor) or newer chips, the intel ones so i doubt it supports ARM for pc version

the manual install actually is the same download as the official launcher tbh. its the exact same file in fact the links (not the mirrors but the hoyoverse links) is just the same link the launcher gets its download from

so even with manual updating, downloading the big 16+GB file is just the same file the launcher downloads which is replacing the whole base game

i dont think the blank tab is causing the issue though so its probably fine for now. but assuming your windows is up to date, that laptop probably has more than enough RAM and a decent enough CPU to not crash the game.

i'd try restarting your laptop, then opening the launcher and run the repair in the launcher before starting the game. then when the game is open run the red repair tool at the bottom left corner of the login screen if it gets there (just check assets, no need to delete them) and if it still crashes then let me know and put your output log file here

I realize I failed to mention that I never reach the red repair tool because I get stuck in the loading section of the elevator. Also the same thing happened, and here's the log

ok, rude that the launcher repair didnt fix it but give me a few to go through your output log and see if i can spot the issue

seems to be a windows issue, which might also be related to why the dxdiag system tab was blank actually. so try this:

1. open command prompt as administrator (click on start, type "cmd" and right click it and click run as administrator)
2. type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth and hit enter
3. once thats done type DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and hit enter.
4. once thats done type sfc /scannow and hit enter.
5. once that is done restart your computer again and try running the launcher as admin by right clicking it and clicking run as administrator and try to run the game and let me know what happens

Did all that and same thing, generates another crash report

in that case the only other thing i can think of is that the game did not install correctly, the error in the output log was it basically saying it couldnt read files correctly which is usually a windows issue but sometimes just a botched installation. sometimes the repair doesnt find the issue either so the only thing i can think of to try is to reinstall the game and if it still isnt working then you can try customer support. they can at least route the error log to the devs and they can figure out what exactly is causing the issue #how-to-contact-cs has their email addresses and stuff

one thing to keep in mind is to remember to DDU before you install the graphics card for a nice clean install. but i would start at medium and if you have more than one monitor keep an eye on your GPU levels and if its not maxing out then can try high and then tweak it from there

Honestly if you're worried I can find the most up to date drivers for your cpu pretty easily but it is your computer and all that, as long as you're aware that is there's any issues with it it's probably a driver conflict

But I hope it runs well and stuff for you and let's you do high settings

I mean even if I uninstall the APU driver it would still work but the driver will be resetted to the base version

Also hypotetically I did agree with uninstalling the APU drivers is it only DDU or should I tweak something on to my system like going to Device Manager and removing the Display driver there?

mhmm and if you ever need to switch to the APU graphics all you have to do is reinstall the drivers to their latest version

nah ddu takes care of all that, you just got to select the brand option basically so it knows what drivers to look for

but if you did do it it would ideally be in this process. 1. DDU your old drivers out 2. turn off computer and plug in new card and connect display to GPU and turn computer on. 3. deal with low resolution while you install the nvidia drivers adn then you're done with another restart again

its okie the DDU is the most complicated part since its not as user friendly as the nvidia geforce experience app (can probably install that and register an account before DDU)

but it is still pretty self driving. just got to select the right brand of drivers and if you want to totally uninstall them or not

-Still plugged into the MOBO (APU)

1. Boot to Safe Mode
2. DDU
   -After
3. Plugged the GPU and the monitors cord to it
4. DL GeForce Experience then update drivers
5. Restart after it's done
6. ENJOY

dont need to do safe mode tbh and can probably install teh geforce app before DDU, though it might complain about not detecting anything so when you DL it is up to you but other than that yeah! oh and the n vidia app will auto install the latest driver for your device so no picking required

yes, you can just download it from one of the custom launchers, but you cannot make an account without a CN ID to register. if you dont have that then you can make a bilibili hi3 account through the bilibili app on android but you still would need to register your foreign ID with it to use the bilibili app version of the CN server

there is no translation, all audio and text is in simplified chinese. and no the bilibili app version is on android only afaik

pretty much, and one trick that i learned is that if you've already done the OW stuff like apho for instance and are just needing to do tasks, you can click cancel on the resource download prompt and still get to the hub to accept tasks. you just need to download the stuff if you're going to actually go in there and run around/fight

if you extracted the file like that before, that could explain why is not working, you have to extract the file on the "Video" folder of your Honkai install, the ### on the instructions are because of the differences on the clients folder, if you dont know where you installed the game you can see it on the launcher options
and yeah that is the windows program, sadly can have some issues when replacing larger files, so try to extract the files on a "new folder" and then copy the files to the final location

on launcher installations it will work on external drive, but not on older macs without the m1 chip (not mobile package for older macs since if they dont have the m1 chip or higher it is technically running the iphone version of the game)

if the external hard drive is an SSD then r/w speed isnt an issue, just make sure its connected to usb 3.0 and make sure the drive doesnt have any power saving mode turned on or anything that disconnects it if its not actively in use

the main bottleneck for external drives is the cable transfer speed. using an old cable or connecting it to usb 2.0 or something will seriously throttle the transfer speed

to get under server max upload i do the following:

set cbr to 6kbps

use whatever encoder is better, usually gpu if you want to retain game performance

(mkv is technically better if u crash but this is for lazy videoe)

I have a weird issue with the sfx sound in some stages and prob bgm as well, basically they are muted until I go into settings and change their volume, after that they come back (they are obviusly not muted).

but if possible too though you'll need to think about upgrading the amount of RAM your laptop has. 8gb is the minimum needed as of right now so your laptop doesnt have much wiggle room with it

that is pretty weird. have you tried running the repair in both the launcher and in the red repair button on the login screen? if not try that and restart your pc. otherwise im not sure what could be causing that tbh. unless your pc has some kind of audio monitoring/muting software then it might just be a rare bug with the game itself and customer support would know more about that #how-to-contact-cs

but its definitely not an in game setting or a windows audio setting that im aware of that would be causing that

they dont update all of the valks/stages whenever they bring out more modern graphics on the latest stuff, it mostly only affects the latest characters or newest maps so as a general rule of thumb, the older stuff tends to take less resources than the newer stuff
