then the only thing i can think of is either the launcher is pointing to a different folder entirely for teh game, maybe multiple installations or something.
or the other possibility is that the download file got corrupted. the first thing the launcher does is verify the file and if its corrupted then it will start to redownload it
i'd recommend trying a different mirror with the manual download steps

If it's taking that long to download then I very highly recommend either using a chain launcher from the first pin or a download Manager when doing the manual download

The reason for that is because the update download got corrupted (probably due to the long download time) I'd recommend manually downloading with these steps

then yeah probably your file is corrupted, you can try to download the file using a download manager or use a custom launcher (#🔌technical-help message) they can download the file better, but there is still a small chance of corruption too if your network is still with issues
it may have leftover files from downloading update inside the launcher itself, if that's the case do delete them
tho the launcher itself is usually unstable so 3rd party one like collapse can help with bad internet

oh wait you're on mac? im sorry i assumed you were on PC but tbh for mac the only way to get it to prompt for a download type is to totally reinstall the game since its running the iphone version and thats the only way to do it for mobile versions
that would delete all the asset data yes but if you've already tried that then you could try downloading the collapse custom launcher if you're on pc and using its repair function (links in the first pin)

out of curiosity what things did you try from this article? #🔌technical-help message and did you already try downloading the .apk file again and running it? usually this kind of stuff is just a corrupted download
(might seem a bit nosy) but i looked through their previous msgs and they might have bootcamped windows instead of using an apple sillicon mac with the mobile version #🔌technical-help message so the registry thing would still work
also just to clarify on the lag question, i did some testing where I went into a stage and then literally disabled the internet on my device (aka 0 internet) and there was no lag. it just needs to be connected at the end of the stage and while in the menu but it does not affect lag while inside of combat
snooping is fine, i snoop a lot myself but true if they're on a bootcamped windows then they'd still have a registry to work it with mhmm
for that registry setting to appear i think you need to have opened the game from the launcher iirc. but dont worry, the game doesnt auto download anything. it will still give you a window with the download size and have an ok button before the download starts so you can update from the launcher and then open the game and then close the game at that part and then check out the registry (assuming cactism is right and you're on bootcamped windows)

ah cause for some reason i have the laucher updated and ready to actually install the game but in registry it has mihoyo but the only thing under it is genshin(i do have this one installed) and Mihoyosdk
but there isn't anything with honkai
did you already run honkai? because for what i read you where asking about the install size, but what the launcher/app install is just the "base" files, in-game you will get the basic/full install option before you can play the game

when you install the game you have to download the "base files", after you install that and run the game you still have to download some assets in-game, and on that process the game will ask you what you want to install, if just the basic files or the full assets
if you still don't run the game, the registry is going to show blank because the game still doesn't generate the data

so the basic files are 43 gb cause that what it seems it takes up
a clean game install is what Luna shared with you before #🔌technical-help message
after you finish the launcher install the game will be like ~20GB, once you run the game will ask you what you want to install, and then the game will take more, and 43gb is the final size of the game for the full assets option.
if your game size is higher that what is on that msg, could be that some files are there that are not need it anymore, for example the launcher doesnt delete old event data, so if you updated the game, some old data could still be on your files and unfortunately the only option on that case is to reinstall the game if you what the used storage back
installing the game is like 18-19 gb for me but then it askes to verify and that takes a bunch of space
yeah that is normal when you are unzipping a file, you need 2 times the space for that process,
the 7z install file is ~19 gb so you need at least ~38 gb for the process... once is done the 7z file is deleted and the folder will end with only ~19gb
after that, you will get the in-game basic/full install option and you will end up with the final game install size (~35GB basic / ~43GB full)
will this be an additional 35 gb or in total 35 if i went with basic
35gb in total, is counting the 19 you already installed with the launcher

yes but in his ex it took 19 to download than 19 to unzip adding up to 38 needed total but for unzipping mine seems to need more than 19 to unzip leading to more than 38 needed total

well launcher says 18.12 gb to download but i tried to download yesterday it went fine untill it started to unzip where it said it needed anohter 18.12 to unzip but i have slightly over 40 gb available and it still wasn't enough it got it to like 90% unzip
You could try manually unzipping it because the launcher is probably also saving space for the in game install
this is is the process, where what is on () is the files on your drive during the process:
-launcher download the file (A1)
-launcher start the "install", so start to copy the 7z files (A1+A2)
-launcher check that the files are copy correctly so need to have the original files and the copy (A1+A2)
-launcher confirm that files are correct so doesnt need the 7z file anymore (A2)
as you can see, on the 2 and 3 part your drive will have 2 times the same files, until can check that nothing is wrong and will delete the first file
if something fails during the 2 part, the launcher will see it on the 3rd part and will ask you to start the unzip again
launcher doesnt seem to give me that choice just goes it it immediatly is there a way i could stop it than do that
To manually do it you would need to unzip the file itself with an unzip program. There's no launcher button to manually to it

If your going to manually unzip it then follow these steps but instead of not extracting you can go ahead and extract with 7zip. But be warned that since you're not verifying the file isn't corrupted you might have to reinstall it all if it's corrupted

reading this ↑ msg looks like the download got corrupted, so the game try start the redownload, but didnt find the space because of the tmp file taking the 19gb, afaik the launcher only show that "size" msg only on the download process, if you dont have space after the 7z is downloaded correctly its going to show other error msg

yeah that could be the problem, the file got corrupted, the launcher try to unzip but failed, ask you to try to redownload but doesn't find the space because of the corrupted 7z file. you can just follow the step that luna shared with Ai-chan and should work if the file doesnt get corrupted again

Nope, if you're manually unzipping too then you actually technically don't need to even have the launcher installed. You just download the file, put it in your hi3 installation folder (the games folder) and then unzip it with 7zip. Just make sure there isn't a tmp copy of the download and then after it's unzipped you can open the launcher, don't need to open it before hand
alr so the download is the one sent by ai chan and i just use 7zip to manually unzip then the launcher can download the actual game and stuff
After unzipping it if everything is done correctly the the launcher will just say launch and not need to do any updates. The rest of the download will happen after you start the game

yeah i said it just because i helped one user a couple of ver. ago about the game not getting detected and was just because of the missing config file... but was ver. ago, idk if some update "fix" that or if still need the file on the folder

ah yep, the launcher needs a config.ini in the games folder that it doesnt generate till after the unzip process so they'll have to add it in
one last thing i forgot to mention, after manually unzipping the 18GB patch file you'll need to then delete the patch file to save on space and put this config.ini file in the games folder (the same folder your patch file was in, along with the bh3.exe file and all that)
so you unzip by creating a duplicate than delete the original right
but if the launcher is installed it'll have the launcher config file which says where the game is installed. i think thats what it was previously but i dont remember enough about it to find it in a search rn
also for confirmation the 18 gb patch file should be a patch 7Z file right
so heres the full steps. to make things cleaner just uninstall the launcher entirely and install a fresh copy of it and open the launcher but do NOT click "get game" yet. just note where the launcher says the installation location in the launcher settings. Also make sure you have 7zip installed on that bootcamp thing. also CLOSE the launcher before doing this stuff below
- Download the manual download 18GB 7z file and put that file in the installation location, by default this should be an empty games folder in your launcher folder at this point iirc.
- right click the file and in the 7zip context menu just click extract here and let it extract.
- after its finished extracting put the config.ini file i shared above in the same folder with the bh3.exe and all the other files.
- delete the manual download file or whatever you want to save on space.
- open the launcher and click launch
then the game should open and finish the update normally assuming the manual download file wasnt corrupted or anything like that
and after opening the game is where you'll get the prompt to do basic asset install
alr rq does the config file go in the games folder as well or in the general hi3rd launcher folder

you're not supposed to be unzipping with the launcher, but with the program called 7zip
and all it does is unzip files, it has no other purpose really

ah no, the 'copy' that they were talking about before was windows reserving enough free space. When you're unpacking a box on your desk, can you unpack the box in the exact same space as the box is taking up? or do you have to empty its contents somewhere else on your desk and then throw the box away? Its the same concept.
oh so if im correct the 18 gb download is just a ginourmous file of a bunch of concepts and the unzip file breaks it down into a bunch of different folders?
yes, the 18gb single file is the entire base game, a few thousand files and folders and so on in a figurative "box". the unzip process just unpacks that box and the launcher throws the box away afterwards, 7zip doesnt so thats why you need to remember to delete it later on but thats essentially it

after you unzip it it'll still be sitting there and im guessing you dont want 18GB of space taken up by something no longer needed

as you can see the patch file is still there so you'd need to delete it at that point and probably remove it from teh recycle bin before opening the game
alr last thing before i wait for the redownload after i manually downloaded it for the first time it went to my downloads so i copy and pasted the file into the games folder under Honkai Impact 3rd glb than deleted the first one than clicked extract on the copied one in the games folder.
thats a fine process right shouldnt lead to any errors because a reoccuring error in unzipping was that it couldn't find the path specified and thus couldn't create the folder

it shouldnt no. as long as you arent actually creating a shortcut or anything and actually copying the file into the games folder (or with how little free space you have maybe you should consider cutting instead of copying)

that means that specific file is corrupted, go to the folder where it is at and make sure that it is not there, delete it if it is and then open the game again, you may need to do this several times since it'll only show 1 or 2 files at a time
if you have a custom launcher like collapse, its full repair function can sometimes fix this stuff too

let me check how much compression is on the zip file, i thought it was close to 18GB when unzipped but let me check
incidentally the compression is why its a zip file in the first place, they compress all of the files before putting them in the zip file to save people on downloading bandwidth

but ah i see now, the compression must have gotten more compressed recently. the total file size of the unzipped contents is 24.5GB which explains why the basic assets install is ~34GB in total (its a 10GB in game download on top of the uncompressed 24.5GB patch file)
so you're gonna need to free up around 3GB from somewhere to even manually unzip it

so 24.5 GB of free space should do the trick when you go to unzip
btw when an update hits again how much extra space should i need to have to download it
well if we assume the next update is 18GB again (usually its a little more every time but for the sake of hypotheticals) you would need the usual 18GB for the file and then an additional 24.5 for the uncompressed contents like this time but it'll probably be a little more
so the easiest way to get around this would be to just uninstall than reinstall right
that way lets say i have like 8 gb remaining id be able to use that and it'd be enough
most likely yeah, the grand total after you've finished updating and deleting the zip file and stuff shouldnt be much more than it currently is, typically the game total increases by less than 1GB every patch but you still need the amount of free space to hold the update files and stuff
not sure what you mean by the 8GB, basically you'd need as much as you had when you got it working today (after uninstalling hi3) + a little bit more

those audio files are also downloaded in the in game download after you opened the game
plus regardles of where or how you downloaded them, you still downloaded them over your internet connection
so its still your internet service providers fault

i have a problem with game volume, it's lower than it used to even after setting everything close to 100.
previous patch was setup to 60 and the game sound higher.

yes that would delete all of the non base game files so it would redownload everything that you had downloaded after opening the game since the maintainence
so not the entire game, but like around half of it depending on if you picked the full assets install option or the basic assets one
you can try deleting and redownloading everything, or you can install a custom launcher like the collapse launcher and run a full repair with it to fix any broken files if there are any
(also dont forget to check your volume mixer in windows just to make sure that its not lowered volume in windows)

make sure your antivirus isnt quarantining the honkai impact program or anything like that.
if you're running it in a virtual machine thats probably why
restart your pc and make sure the game is running as admin if you dont have it installed in the default c:\program files\ location

i just ended up increasing my device volume in volume mix and just reconfigure my audio settings for other games to match that hi3.

Hello, I seem to have problems regarding "verifying" screen. I know it says "verification time depends on devices" but it has been 0.0% for a long time. I have been trying for 2 days now but it's the same. It never happened to me in previous updates where the verification took a few minutes. What do I do?
how long have you let it sit at a time before giving up? it can take up to 30 minutes on some devices and can appear frozen at times
Uh the most I think was 17 mins. The other tries were of lower duration cuz my patience is limited

and tbh sometimes even the same device can take longer for no real reason but you can see if its actually frozen or not by looking at it in task manager, if its using a decent amount of CPU or disk usage then its still working away at it

its fine :3 is it still using disk space? its not a matter of if its using both CPU and disk usage but if its using disk usage OR CPU then its still just working at it. your CPU might be plenty good enough to not need a ton of it. if you want you could send a screenshot of hi3 in your task manager and i could look at it

its verifying basically all of the game files to make sure they are not corrupted or broken or anything like that, it takes a while becuase it has to scan through all of these thousands of files
Holy- I never realized hi3 had 4.7k files. Damn that's a lot!
mhmm and sometimes windows is just sluggish for no real reason so scanning through those can take a longer than normal. theres a lot of things you could do to "spring cleaning" your computer that might help but for hi3 the longest i've seen it tak eis 30 minutes and it can appear frozen at times so i'd recommend just letting it cook and if its been over 30 minutes then you might need to reinstall or something

possible i guess but usually that wouldnt break the verification. only if the thing doing the verification got broken because of that which is why if you've waited for 30 minutes and its not doing anything then yeah that might have been what happened i'd recommend a complete uninstall and reinstall at that point

yes please use collapses full repair function (the repair icon on the left side of the launcher) as that should fix any issues with the game files which is probably the issue but the nvidia driver is your graphics driver. if collapse doesnt work and you have to update your audio drivers then i'd recommend googling how to update your audio drivers and follow the article you find, you'd need to download a specific one for your laptop model and then install it basically (i guess you could just google "audio drivers for [laptop model]" and it should take you to your manufacturers website where you can get them and then its just download and run the file.

by any chance do you use a "surround" software? sometimes those can fail detecting other software and cause some issues, sometimes is broken sound, other is that you only have sound on "some speakers". and those problem only end up showing on your hardware, so if you try to record the problem with any other software (like screen/audio recording) they don't show that issue

then yeah that rules out a janky audio driver
try running the launcher as admin? maybe that'll help
if it is still refusing to unzip you can always manually unzip the manual download, just do "extract here" when its in the right folder and that'll unzip it but you would need to keep in mind that since you arent checking if the zip file is corrupted or anything you might have to do some repairs later if it is corrupted

It’s so weird bc I run hi3 and have the volume at 20 or even 30 I can barely hear anything and then if I run anything else with the volume at 20 (for example: ffxiv) I can hear just fine
if you didn't change the path on the install, the default path is C:\Program Files\Honkai Impact...\Games
you could try to use betterhi3 #🔌technical-help message, and do the install with the console open, so if there is an issue in there we could get better info about what could be the issue
and you've double checked your volume mixer right?

and also check the sound mixer options windows setting (just click on your start menu and type "sound mixer" to find it) while the game is open to see if theres anything there too
and did you check what i said before, if you have any "surround software" working (windows have one by default), those can cause some issues in some rare cases

hmm that looks corrupted, though winrar can sometimes say things are corrupted when they arent. I'd still try teh better launcher and turn the console view on so if it has issues we can see what its saying too
in short, the download is corrupted so you need to redownload the file
ah yup thats definitely a corrupted download again, try just letting the better launcher update it, it usually downloads a bit more stably than the official one

tbh ping doesnt matter during a stage, only when at the end when it checks into the server to update your account. you enter a stage, pause it, disable your internet entirely and unpause it and have no lag until you get to the end when you'll get a spinning yellow circle until you reconnect

could be many things, some giftcards are for only one payment, others are compatible with only some merchants, that for international operations you have additional fees so the amount is not enough, that some giftcard don't use some secure protocol that most online stores need, etc.
you can contact the company that generated the card for info, or if what you want is buy something on x game, contact their support and see if they have info about that card and if you can use it

ok, i dont think betterhi3 launcher stores logs in a text file anywhere but if you click next to launch and then click show log it shows a console window that is all the logs since the last time it was opened
still the same issue, it just happens after I choose between two download method (basic download vs full download), then after that it will show this, and will continue to loop going back to the opening screen

thought to tell you in case someone else needs help
Managed to fix it;
I play on epic games launcher and for some reason a new update to the software caused the EOSOVH-Win64-Shipping.dll to show up in 2 different directories in the game's folder, so when you otherwise launch or close the game it probably tries to run or exit the dll twice, even though only 1 instance could run at any time. This causes a conflict that results in a crash.
The fix is pretty simple:
-go to game folder
-delete both copies of the dll(or probably sometimes 1)
-go the epic games app library
-manage -> verify files
-restart pc
that did it for me, game runs normally now.

- Please, close both game and launcher.
- Press Windows + R, input
regedit. - In the opened window, please locate
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\miHoYo\Honkai Impact 3and delete it. - Press Windows + R, and input
%userprofile%\Appdata\LocalLow\miHoYo\in the opened window. Delete all the files in the Honkai Impact 3/3rd folder. - Restart your PC.

Even with a 1.5k IsD gaming PC it’s tough running two instances
nice on getting it to work but yeah fam honkai takes a lot of resources to run i wouldnt be surprised if it struggles running two instances

I have retrieved my old mihoyo account and bound it to my email and it said thay i was linked and when i logged it in it just makes me play to the very start which is the TUTORIAL PART how can I play my account again 😢

its why i recommend asking for the ability to link steam accounts and hoyoverse accounts in feedback surveys but as for why? steams like that with a lot of games, its why a lot of mmo's on steam the "game" you download is really just the launcher which then downloads the rest of the game through the launcher, but steam really likes making accounts with its steamID thingy

in case of the same server it's 99.9% that you played before hoyo account system and didn't link your old account to the hoyo acc system
and now you have your old (unlinked) account as well as "new" account created by logging in via hoyo
try to use "miHoYo" on the account retrieval screen and input your credentials, you may find your old acc
is this even worth trying when my hoyolab account i never used shows the new progress already
yes, cuz you can ask CS to unlink your new account
but do not make much progress on it, or it would become unlinkable

if you don't remember any details about it (the most important one is UID), then it's probably not worth trying to recover it

Just a heads up, with a lvl 75 returnee account you may want to just make a new one anyway but that's a discussion for #👶beginner-help , you can find info on why going through returnee is so bad on a low level account compared to restarting in the pinned messages there
Only make a new one when you do actually plan to play consistently btw, not worth it if you're just here for story or playing on and off
i dont particularly like starting over, and i am quite clingy to my stuff but i did create another via steam which i plan to play on more
the main reason i haven't been playing active is because i lost my progress as you know, and i dont really have a device that can handle honkai Impact well at the moment

you can create a new account with a different email or something but account sharing of any kind is against TOS and can/will result in an account ban if discovered
just make a new account to play with thats yours until you get your old one back

Well you gave them your UID right?
Because accounts can't normally get deleted so yours is either linked to a hoyoverse already and you forgot about it and didn't notice during the account retrieval button that it gave you an error (if you've al played at all in the last 2 years then this is almost guaranteed the issue) or it will needs to be linked to an available hoyoverse account but either way it's almost guaranteed not deleted and customer support will so their best to get it back for you
But until then please don't ask anyone to break TOS for you

how to solve this problem? i had reinstall 5 time,and try swap other hard driver

iirc CN uses the new 米哈游启动器 (basically CN HoYoPlay)
so they may just be using global/sea server with CN language
oh yeah thats right i forgot they're on hoyoplay already, though that error was the corrupte download message as far as my phone translated lol

I gotcha, phone hotspots are usually less stable than wifi (usually). I'd recommend either using one of the custom launchers or using a download manager program like IDM or something like that to do the manual download
the game file was downloaded, first time when verification are in progress, suddenly it jump this error.

I dont think its an issue with the launcher but maybe your ISP will have fixed their issue when it comes to hoyoplay so it'll download normally then

fighting some part 1 and 1.5 bosses I find that my game has a fixed camera and it cant be moved

Honkai Impact 3 will no longer receive updates on the HUAWEI AppGallery. Captains will be unable to download or update the app from the HUAWEI AppGallery and will no longer be able to log in to the game using HUAWEI ID.
The in-game Account Transfer function is only available from APR 25 to JUL 25. To transfer your game account to a HoYoverse account after this period, please contact CS at honkai3rd_asia@hoyoverse.com. After the transfer, Captains can continue playing the game using any official SEA client thereafter. Currently, the official clients support Windows PC, iOS, and Google Play.

I have global launcher and cant switch from EU server to America one what's wrong? I never had SEA server installed anyway
if you don't have the server button on top right (in-game), then you've downloaded SEA client
to go back to global can I just download the update itself or have to redownload whole launcher?

then you logged into the game and it created a hoyoverse account if you logged in and got a new account, probably accidentally did register or something. but you'll need to wait on customer support for assistance, you cannot unbind a honkai account to a hoyoverse account. but dont play on that new account while you wait on customer support to reply
also if you havent given customer support your old accounts UID then please try to find that as they will need your old accounts UID to be able to help you with your old account since without it they cant find the account

then that email is already being used for a hoyvoerse account, so instead of registering a new hoyoverse account you can try forgot password or something with that email.
and yes that is your UID.
also as a disclaimer, since you presumably havent played in the last 2 years if you care at all about meta or doing well in the competitive modes in the end game then you might consider starting over with a new account since the new player rewards far outperform the returnee player rewards and all of the part 2 characters vastly outperform the part 1 characters. but its up to you you dont have to start over or anything i just figured i'd let you know so you can think about it
I don't know what is happening inside the game. like you said part 1 and part 2, I don't even know what that is. I will likely not start over, but look into everything that has been changed over the years
so to very very sum up what part 1 and 2 are, the part 1 main story ended and the girls and Part 2 is a whole big new engine, updated combat system (still mostly the same as you're used to) and whole new cast and story etc but you'll find out once you get your old account back

Yooo Luna. I'm here to state an issue about my honkai account being inaccessible. I just came back to honkai impact after YEARS, but when i tried to log in about a year ago. It said "System Busy." I put in the correct information which is my password and username and even tried my ID. But it always says "System Busy." So I wanted help in getting back into my old honkai account. But there's also another issue. I used a specific gmail/email but I don't have access to that either which makes it harder for me to gain proper access. What can I do? Also i remembered it told me something about making a hoyoverse account at the time. So I don't know if my account is inaccessible due to me not making an hoyoverse account when it told me to.
