that is the official hi3 launcher yes. the ones i was taling about are custom launchers. theres two (collapse and the BetterHI3Launcher) the collapse is made by a team of fans and the betterHI3 launcher is made by one of the mods here. they are safe to use

but they do handle downloading and updating the game better than the official one, its part of why they were made in the first place

well anyone can make a launcher if you know programming, all it does is download the file from the links in the manual update thing i sent you and unzips them in the correct place. and its better because of some technical things but it has more stability checking things and parallel downloading, things like that

but all a launcher is is a glorified file downloader and auto unzip thing + making sure the file that was downloaded isnt corrupted

but like i said, you can try manually updating or you can try a custom launcher, its up to you and you can try both if one of them doesnt work either

I assume your game files are stored in a HDD if yes then .... HDD are really slow when it comes to read/write I suggest for a speed up is to buy a SSD a SATA will do but M.2 is better

not really possible to speed it up, you'll just have to let it do its thing but it can take up to around an hour on particularly slow devices so just let it do its thing, luckily it only needs to do this once it updates but the % speed will be pretty inconsistant until its done

could be that they updated the APHO menu to render lower after many users had performance issues with the new engine
try changing video settings to a higher one, if that doesn't improve it, your only option is too talk to CS and see if they can change it in the future #how-to-contact-cs

and just in case check your gpu settings/drivers if you are on PC

It seems that my malwarebytes detected a file in C:\PROGRAM FILES\HONKAI IMPACT 3RD GLB\GAMES\ called MHYPROTECT.SYS
i'm not sure how I got this and if it's an actual file, but I have it quarantined and from my research its randomware
does anyone have any info on this and what I should do? like should I just delete it and alll will be fine or is there something specific I should do to make sure the game doesnt break

its a safe file, that file is the anticheat and malwarebytes is just doing a false positive on it. just set it as an exemption and/or report it as a not harmful file with malwarebytes

though that its the old anticheat iirc so might be fine to just leave it as is

well the file in that article, mhyprot2.sys is not the same file so it should be fine, and like i said iirc mhyprotect.sys is the old anticheat so you can see if the game runs ok without it since it might not need it anymore

if you want to be extra sure, just reinstall the game for a fresh copy of the anticheat if your suspicious of the one on your computer being infected

But you don't have the installed game files in the location

Because you already have the zip, just select the games folder that had the 7z file on the "change file path" and use "get game"

so for the official launcher version of this error, you can try either reinstalling by uninstalling via windows or the uninstall.exe in your game installation folders (this is the recommended way) or deleting the bh3 data folder in your game installation folder and then opening the game to have it redownload 98% of the game (by default its c:\program files\honkai impact 3\games\bh3_data) tbh both options are basically reinstalling with how much it needs to download but thats the only fix for this

But I can't zip the files, though what you can do is get one of the custom launchers in the pins and after it detects your game installation you can run the repair tool from those launchers to download most of the missing files

2. Press Windows + R, input regedit.
3. In the opened window, please locate \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\miHoYo\Honkai Impact 3 and delete it.
4. Press Windows + R, and input %userprofile%\Appdata\LocalLow\miHoYo\ in the opened window. Delete all the files in the Honkai Impact 3/3rd folder.
5. Restart your PC.

hmm, yeah try toggling it off and on with right alt though if that doesnt work it looks like it just might be bugged out or locked for the tutorial, you can try restarting your pc and making sure its set to mouse input settings for the current plan in the ai chan phone > settings (not in the mid combat menu, that can sometimes just not work) and if it still isnt doing anything then might try contacting customer support #how-to-contact-cs

oh and just a little disclaimer since you're using the steam version. keep in mind that you cannot link a steam account to a hoyoverse account so if you think you will want to do any hoyolab integration with it or twitch drop events, that kind of stuff then you might want to start over on the regular pc client since you did just recently start. if you dont care about that then dont worry about it! just letting you know and all that

well its pretty easy these days, but the issue is that you're trying to find an old account that only exists on the old mihoyo login system which isnt in use anymore which is why you're having to do the whole account retreival thing to try and find that old mihoyo account so you can link it to the current hoyoverse account system

that wouldnt work, cant link anything to mihoyo accounts these days since it is not in use anymore, the most you can do with mihoyo accounts is reset the password if you had it linked to an email address or phone number. but with the google accounts theres no need for a password reset since as long as you've signed into the correct google account it auto logs in.

but yes the email addresses and the google accounts are two totally different things, a mihoyo account can be linked to a google play account, but no email address and linking to a google play account does not automatically link the email address of that google play account to the mihoyo account (so like you can have a google play account that is [e-mail], you could in theory have a game account linked to that google play account and then a different game account linked to the [e-mail] email address)

but like iho said, dont try to log in at *all * to the main game login (the hoyoverse one) until y ou've found your old account in the account retreival thing

hmm true, its the anticheat thats the failing bit. and without a minidump you can also try going to C:\windows\system32\drivers and delete ace-base.sys and then copy the ace-base.sys from your game folder to that system32 folder, also might want to try turning off any AV you have running to test, its possible too that its being sus of that .sys driver and cacnelling it which is freaking out windows

mhmm not the strongest battery plus hi3 is a pretty demanding game these days, but as far as settings goes it honestly depends on how much you can handle. obviously turning the graphics all the way down will help the battery life a lot but if you cant bear to look at it then that defeats the purpose and all that lol. but i'd recommend not using battery saver mode and starting with the lowest or second lowest graphic preset and then working your way up till its at a bearable level, just keep in mind that the lower it is the less battery it will consume (i know turning battery saver off sounds backwards but it will a lot of times cause a lot of performance issues and make the game harder to actually play because its making the gpu work with one arm tied behind its back)

if you want individual settings that might help more than others, maybe anti aliasing, any lighting effects like bloom, shadows etc, and rendering accuracy has the biggest impact if it lets you customize those choices on mobile

keep in mind though that you're not going to double your battery life while playing or anything, it still at the end of the day is an incredibly graphics heavy mobile game, but you will get more time if you lower the stuff

they are all battery intensive yes, this game recently was very much optimized but to compare hi3 with hsr and genshin isnt a good comparison. hi3 is over 8 years old now and the early game stuff does look pretty dated back when hi3 was the companies first ever 3d game but the more modern stuff (aka the stuff they came out with after HSR and Genshin) look just as good or even more cinematic depending on the section. but if your device cannot make hi3 look good then hsr and genshin will look around the same if you're looking at all 3 games more modern stuff.

This stat gain for Coralie is almost certainly a typo, at least the defense gain number is. My own Coralie has everything identical to the story trial one, with the exception of extra ATK, a small amount of SP, and crit DMG added from affixes. She is S2 currently, and after getting 40 fragments she will be SS rank, like the trial Coralie. the problem is, she is 12 DEF away from being identical to the trial version, but this screen says she will gain 9. Due to this, I am inclined to believe that the DEF stat points gained (9) in the screenshot attached is a typo.

probably your best option is to reinstall the game, if you still have the 7z file you can save it on a different folder to skip that download later

tbh i havent been able to test on mac so all (dont have one and dont have the money to buy a new computer just for hi3 testing ) i can only say what the windows version + what other people have said but there are some known issues with textures missing like in this message #🐛bug-report message

you can try things like restarting your device, lowering graphics a bit, if you're hooked up to a high resolution external monitor then maybe test not on that monitor and see what it does

Yeah if I had to guess, because my chip should be strong enough to run on max settings with no issues, and it might not be because my mac is refurbished (since that other captain had issues too) it mightttt be related to MetalFX upscaling (heard its built in)

hello, i am having trouble opening up honkai on my pc. I can launch it and it opens up the loading screen like normal, then it tells me it's installing an update every single time. When the download is finished, a little pop up widow appears like when there is server maintanence. The thing is, on that little pop up widnow there is nothing written, it's literally blank. When i press on that widow it closes the game. This happened yesterday, before then i was able to play the game as normal with no problems, this came out of a sudden basically. Could anyone help perhaps? :)

Can anyone help me? I'm trying to find my old account that was logged in using a username. When I try to link it, for some reason, the email shown does not match the one I input, and I even created several new hoyoverse accounts but still encountered the same issue

what that screen is telling you is if you want to continue to link the mihoyo account (UID) with the hoyoverse account (email)
that way you can check before linking that they are the correct accounts, because you can't undo the process later

Mac developer here who likes Honkai, I want to clear up some stuff about the mac version of HI3. I have extensive experience with Mac and iOS development and reverse engineering and am ready to cite sources.

1. it's not a Mac-native version, it runs as an iOS app on your Mac thanks to macOS on M-series chips supporting iOS apps (Apple calls this iOSSupport and WrappedBundle), same as PlayCover. PlayCover did not create this layer, they just use it.
2. Yes, it requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M-series chip). This is not something that's going to change because if MiHoYo compiles a macOS-native version of the game with a macOS-native Unity version, they lose ARM64 (M-series chip) support, because the version of Unity MiHoYo uses does not support ARM64 on macOS, only iOS.
3. High framerate (120FPS) support will need a Mac with a high refresh rate display, this includes MacBook Pro 14"/16" from 2021 and newer
4. Controller support will work the exact same as on iOS 14 or later

but for what i saw since last ver., the low/mid options "break" the bloom effect, like the game doesn't know exactly where the "borders" are, so it shines stronger and "further" from the point of origin. (you can see it better on the valk screen with some weapons and more if they move)
what i forget to check was if the distortion effect still is link to that option

I also have an issue where a button of my xbox controller (usually, the attack button, which is B in my case) randomly stops working
In my case, I solved the issue by going to pause, taping Alt Gr on my keyboard to switch between Keyboard and Keyboard+Mouse mode each time it happened, and quitting the pause menu
The button switches stayed as if I was playing with a controller

Probably check your device connection, for me windows have change the controller status to a "generic" one for many reasons when using Bluetooth (low battery, windows turning on/off the Bluetooth, interference,etc...) so games stop detecting the controller as a xbox one, or if a had steam open, start using a config I had for another controller

I don't know if anyone else hit this issue but I had a ton of issues unzipping the recent update on PC recently. I replaced the 7z.exe and 7z.dll files in the Honkai Impact 3rd glb folder with the the latest version (looks like it was version 19.0 in that folder) and it finally unzipped without error

The only official option is to redownload them via ingame, the game let you delete most of them so those you can easily redownload, but for the first chapters ones the only option is to reinstall
The other option is to do the same steps as with the CN but i don't remember if they have the JP files on the same drive you got the CN ones

Good that is working, that is a way to fix the unzip process, but only when you get x error msg, the other errors are mostly corrupted download or install (like an AV blocking/faulty drive/...) so that "fix" will not work on those cases

That was my last resort on the error. I tried most (if not all) the other fixes I could find here. I was using the BetterHi3 launcher prior to this and had even done it with the direct download of the zip folder. Funnily enough if I just unzipped it on my owna and just ran it directly with BH3.exe instead of the launcher, I had no issues

Well that could be the issue, HYV games default path is C:\Program Files\"Game name"\Games so if for both HI3 and HSR launcher you use the same path D:\Games they are overwriting the files of each one

Just create a game folder for each one and you will be fine for future updates.
I have my HYV games on I:\miHoYo\"Game title"\Games
So the launchers never confuse the "games" folder of each one

in the game CG folder, can you copy the Version.txt file to somewhere outside of the game? (e.g. your downloads folder or something) and then copy the CN cgs into the CG folder, replacing the JP ones, then paste the Version.txt file back into the folder

one potential cause of the re-downloading thing in your case might be cause the Version.txt file became missing or something after pasting the CGs in there, prompting the app to re-download all the CGs as it doesn't have a database (what the txt file is) of what CGs are downloaded

this might help mitigate/fix that

not sure how you got there either lol but yup thats the tw server, i think you can make a second google play account and set its location to taiwan and then if you're signed into that google play account while vpn'ing into taiwan the app store should show it. though if that seems like a lot i'd just email customer support and ask for the link to the tw .apk download and then just reuse that link after new version maintenance starts to download game updates in the future

(might try the SEA customer support first, i dont know what the tw one is)

Okay I think I find what could had happened before, by having a file missing or corrupted of the default one will ask to download the assets again showing the full "chapter" size, but by proceeding will just download the missing file, so probably was a bad copy process

Probably you could update your txt file on the mega folder, or the msg to add the info that for mobile the first chapter is only on JP

but if you're talking about Blessing of Feast then yes that is normal, please re-read the description of it, it doesnt have any special things for after astral ring ends iirc
