Anyone else having issues with the new chapter being really laggy and crashing?

I know i have a pretty mediocre iPad but it typically runs fine on good graphics it’s just this chapter that’s lagging and it sucks bc I want the rewards

Since you have been a victim of this here's some notes I want you to follow

Don't download files offering free items / fps boost
Don't click links and putting your information there
Don't share account
Do link email and phone number for 2FA activation
Activate gaming email 2FA
Don't use the same password
Don't use your username as nickname

When using Hoyoverse on Web browser clear cookies after using them or just use incognito so that cookies used will be auto deleted (This is just for extra safety measures)

So you can buy a new hardware
Or just lower your settings

Check if there's any broken files

Also check your audio both in game and outside

Prob you just set it on Headphone and not speaker or In game sounds is low

No. While Steam similarly uses the server of Global (NA/EU), they have different types of login method. Thus, you cannot use your steam credentials to login in mobile. The only way to play in both PC and Mobile platform using the same account would be to use the official launcher, which means you will have to start anew.

Data cannot be transferred from one account to another but as someone else already pointed out you can link a different login method like changing the the email before deleting your Gmail to sign into the same account. You can do this at account.hoyoverse.com

so i dont have to retype tomorrow:

1. go to your Games folder, the one with bh3.exe in it. Copy the games folder, not the whole honkai folder but just the games folder to somewhere else like desktop or something, doesnt really matter where but just copy it somewhere else.
2. after its copied then go to your honkai folder (the one that had the games folder in it) and run uninstall.exe to fully and properly uninstall the game.
3. after it is uninstalled then redownload a fresh copy of the global launcher from here, dont use the one you already have but download a new one: https://api-os-takumi.mihoyo.com/event/download_porter/link/bh3_os/pcglobal/default (or for any SEA players doing this then heres the SEA launcher: https://api-os-takumi.mihoyo.com/event/download_porter/link/bh3_os/pcsea/default )
4. After download is finished run the file to install the launcher. Open the launcher but do NOT click get game. Just wait 1 minute without doing ANYTHING and then close the launcher.
5. copy the games folder you copied in step 1 back into the new honkai folder (if you left the installation at the default then it would be c:\program files\Honkai impact 3rd glb
6. after the games folder is copied into the honkai folder then open the launcher as admin and in the launcher settings click repair game files. it'll make sure the launcher knows everything is right and it'll download anything that isnt there or corrupted.
7. once thats done just click launch and it should work. if it doesnt then the issue is with your computer and not honkai cuz it is a fresh, clean and working installation. if it doesnt launch then i suspect the issue is with the pending windows 11 update or something else going on with your windows

but yes your internet connection specifically to honkai servers is what caused it to corrupt

ok i thought that was the case. so cyberindo is using a virtual machine to do this and honkai does not work on virtual machines since it could be used to exploit the game pretty easily so if you want to play on pc i recommend using the official launcher to install the game. for the SEA server its https://api-os-takumi.mihoyo.com/event/download_porter/link/bh3_os/pcsea/default

So for anyone that are having issues with the launcher update itself (NOT THE PREINSTALL, but the launcher update itself). its about 160MB but i've compressed it to like 27MB so should be much nicer on your ISP. just need to extract it to your Honkai impact 3 sea (or glb) folder. The one ABOVE your games folder with bh3.exe in it. The folder you put this in and then extract it should be the same folder with the launcher.exe file in it.

If you've extracted and get a 6.3 launcher update folder then you didn't extract here but made a new folder which is fine! Just go ahead and copy the contents of that folder to your honkai impact 3 sea\glb folder.

If it asks to overwrite any files just go ahead and overwrite them

oh also keep in mind for the pre-install if you're going to do that. its 10GB so considering you're already getting network issues, try connecting to a VPN before you update it. If you dont have a VPN then protonVPN is fast and free

So, issue: I can't do anything when VPN is up. Pre-install disappears, I can't check the game updates, and I can't play. Disable VPN and the initial issues return.

That's usually due to a partially corrupted download. Probably a connection issue of some kind. Try this

1. Close launcher and go to your honkai impact 3rd glb\games folder (the one with bh3.exe in it). In that folder there may be a bh3_v6.3.0 tmp file. If you see that delete it. That's the corrupted pre-install.
2. Connect to a VPN (proton VPN is free and fast if you don't have one. Also just connect to the USA one).
3. Download the 6.3 pre install file from the first pin.
4. Once the file is finished downloading move it to your games folder (the one with bh3.exe in it).
5. Open launcher and it should unpack the pre-install. If not then you can manually extract and just overwrite any preexisting files. But try to let the launcher do it first. (Also instead of moving the download to the games folder, copy it in case of needing to manually extract)

Not sure for mobile, but for SEA on PC, the .7z file is 10.16GiB, and once extracted it will take up 14.05GiB, which will take up a total of 24.21GiB.
Of course, this won't permanently add 14.05GiB to your game because the .7z itself probably contains files you already have from previous patches. So your game most likely just be a little bit bigger than before. Also, this doesn't take into account the extra files that it downloads in-game, I can't figure that out right now.

i think it's mostly on how unoptimized the launcher's downloader is. there are unofficial launchers that people have made that work more reliably and even use mirrors hosted by themselves.

thats mostly quantity of users downloading plus host location it seems like no one does have problems but you consider hundreds of thousands vs a few hundred or so

so to really simplify why it corrupted initially its because the honkai SEA server is hosted in the alibaba cloud in china and uses international internet traffic, not local internet traffic.

international internet traffic means that it just goes from one Internet service provider to the next till it gets all the way to china. somewhere along that long chain (usually 20 or more) of random companies one of them had an unstable connection where even like 1MB or less maybe got corrupted. but its one zip file so the whole thing has to get redownloaded.

it seems common but on the other hand its less than 1% of SEA players i'd say. only like 10-15 reported issues in here but theres hundreds of thousands of SEA players

You can't move your honkai about to a different hoyoverse account but if you can access the email address then you can change the email being used to log in with the hoyoverse it's currently using. To do that go go to account.hoyoverse.com and log in with the email it's currently using then to to account security settings on the left side and then click on change or modify link next to the email address to change it to a different email

yeah it is a pain. but the reason it does this is because to make the updates as small as possible they are zipped in 7zip and well to put it one way... they are VERY compressed lol. its actually impressive how compressed they are. but on the other hand its just 1 file so if even half a MB gets corrupted due to a milisecond blip in the connection or something it'll have to redownload the corrupted file.... which unfortunately is the whole 10gb 1 file

yo curious question how do files get corrupted when low download speed? like how does it happen

so first thing to keep in mind that a file is considered corrupted if even a single byte of it is missing or wrong. usually its not a large chunk of the file but its a very tiny bit. usually just a few bytes or less. large files or a slow download speed increases the chance of a milisecond network interruption causing a tiny bit to get corrupted. thats usually what it is. so take for instance this snippit of of the 6.3 pre-install in notepad. (this isnt a text file so thats why it looks like gibberish, also this file is like tens of thousands of pages long. its huge and each letter is like a single byte of it)

and now by deleting this tiny amount, the entire file is corrupted and unusable

That delta-patch file is supposed for Collapse Launcher only.

The Delta-patch is basically a technique to update your game but with a very much smaller size (for example: delta-patch only needs 480 MiB in size to download compared to the official launcher method that requires downloading 10GB of file). Basically, you can't use a delta-patch with an official launcher and you must use Collapse Launcher to use it.

This is a brief explanation how it works:
The delta-patch file contains bytes differences of files between the old version and the new version that will be used as a reference to update your game. It takes only a bit of space to update your game since it only needs to replace those differences between versions.

This method is really suitable for everyone who has an unreliable internet connection.

hmm then you're not doing it wrong, but on the other hand that isnt every single file so if it downloaded some thats fine. when y ou extracted you should have selected overwrite or replace the existing files since they are the same name so you're overwriting them. i guess what you can do if you still have the CN cg zips is to not delete the existing files but just extract to that folder and replace any that are named the same

just making sure, but basically whats happening is that your slow download speed has resulted in some files being corrupted. if you delete those specific files from your \Games\BH3_Data\StreamingAssets\Asb\pc folder it will redownload the them.

the message only shows a few at a time so if theres like 20 for instance that are corrupted you'll have to do this a few times or more

DirectX API is already bundled with the Windows files , You can uninstall the DirectX Runtime but not the DirectX API

DirectX is depend on the Hardware you use too , for Example if you have Terascale Graphics (AMD Radeon HD 6000 or 7000) it will show as DirectX 12 in the first dxdiag screen , but when you move to Display tab you will see the version is 11.2 and its support Feature Level 11.1 that Indicate the Graphics cards cant use DirectX 12 at all , Its different if you have Nvidia Kepler Graphics card (GTX 700 series) it will display Version 12 in the display tab , because the Graphics is DirectX 12 Feature Level 11.0 Capable , it also limits the DirectX 12 rendering that can cause Glitch display or Not run the game at all (Usually Occurse when the DirectX 12 Feature Level 12.0 Games is Required)

i downloaded the intel driver support due to my friends suggestion. and it says Update failed to download. so i think i'm just not going to mess with Driver stuff

for SEA yes, but apparently as of this patch they have implemented delta patching for in game. its only 900ish MB. if i were to upload with my thing it then it would be closer to 5GB so i figure it would be best if you tried normally this time
