Odd question. I've been playing with some buddies of mine, but whenever we retire to lobby after hitting a checkpoint, only the host earns the progress for artifacts. Is there something I'm missing?
I know quitting will result in loss of artifacts, but why is it that through retiring, the host only gets the rewards of artifacts?

Hel gun with burst sentry. You can solo hold the alarm while the team does scans
The room above the ||sleeping moms|| was an absolute miracle on our part lmao. We threw a grenade to trap a scout and after killing them, a bit later another scout walked into the remaining bubbles and got trapped. We scatterguned the last one

I brought the dmr on D3 and realized I shouldn't have if I knew I was gonna meet ||shadow sleepers ||

- what are the rules for sharing boosters from artifacts after the mission? For example sometimes my friends get 3-1-1 while i get 2-1-0, and vice versa i get more and higher quality while they get less
- Do you lose artifacts after you die several times and use checkpoint system?
Your friend and you might have played with different team so your percentage of gaining a booster is different 
You lose them if you return to the lobby
you notice the artifact heat thing on each mission
those affect the booster grade you get
also yea like the dude above me said, you might have diff percentages
the way artifacts work is they add to a decimal for each of the 3 type of boosters
and when it passes 1 (or 100%) with the artifacts you pick up in a mission, you get a booster of that type at the end
thanks for all the answers, i learnt the basics about the decimal part etc. But we play only in our group and we always get different amount of boosters each time, so the spread is somewhat unknown for me. Its not exactly the problem, I just want to know if there is any rule to help me understand it, especially the dying part. Do we get less if we die and respawn @ checkpoints? @shell gyro @keen solar
Artifact heat should only drop when you complete or when you return the lobby
But good question I actually don’t know because I’ve never used checkpoint and haven’t used a single booster in this rundown

hey, anyone know how to get apparel? I only bought the game yesterday and have gathered that you get them from completing the main missions (e.g. A1, B1, C1 etc.), but so far I've only gotten colour palettes, is there a more reliable way to get better cosmetics like shirts and gasmasks? or should I just continue going down that checklist?

Knife is "quieter" than other melees?
We don't know how that translates
Agro range wise, normal melees are 12m and i tested that the knife can agro from 9m (not sure about 9-12, haven't tried)
Maybe for quieter it means less range by a few meters, or lower chance to wake up another sleeper with distant agro
(Yes, distant agro has odds unless you wake a sleeper by movement)
Or it could be just a mith

Efficiency wise we are in pistol territory, but with pistol you are trying to hit 1 headshot + 2 body, with machine it's 4 headshots and 4 body

Any full auto will always be harder to use efficiently as it is more fire rate and less damage, which translates to more incosistent

Side objectives are meant to be challenging
Main is what your focus should be if you’re dropping in the level as a new player
ah I see. I hoped for mask drop that's why 😛 Just finished B2 main
B2 side objective is pretty easy, as long as you have good setup. There’s a checkpoint right before it so it’s very forgiving , and you don’t have to finish it since it gives you the bulkhead key before completion

I've had 6 chances to hit multiple enemies and every time it stopped after the first, several other people also tried it and no one got the multi-hit to work

I'd not get used to knife as it is not MENT to kill scouts in the occiput, right now it can time to time, not reliable for a back damage multiplier going around
looks like sledge is just better in damage, but bat has a few utility advantages

When you are solo, having 2 primaries so you can kill more things before needing to reload helps a lot
And ofc you are sharing ammo between 2 guns
thats true, i thought that would be good for scouts and heavies and i could use the knife for stealth because its fast for dealing with more than 1 sleeper
If you look at most solo runs, the secondary is usually a shotgun or heavy assault
If you are soloing you'd probably know how to melee scouts reliably

So now that scatter is nerfed, is Sniper the only viable option to one tap giants?
Headshot on hybrids and giant shooters doh, less efficient by 1 bullet per refill compared to sniper @tropic lava
Basically take it to kill bosses, if giants bother you take sniper
If you find giants while having a scatter blast them away as it is roughly x5 more efficient than any other gun. (Sniper is x6)

most non-main missions have optional objectives that you can complete in them
you chose to either play high or extreme at a bulkhead dc in B2
you always have to finish high, and finishing the optional objectives gets you the drip

I told one of my bots to sea foam an enemy. He didn't do it. And now he is just sitting in the same spot, and won't move. Is there a way/command to un-fuck him? I tried the 'On me' command, and I'm 2 rooms away now, and he's still just sitting there.

If the bot is stuck somewhere, or you need to de-spawn and re-spawn it, hit the ESCAPE key, locate the bot and change the permission to "locked" to despawn the bot, then change the permission back. Bot will then respawn.

You are never forced to finish within a time limit but it is advised to do so
I'm in B2, and I found the bulkhead thing... To progress it says I need bulkhead_dc_657.
If I ping that, it takes me to a terminal that says it needs bulkhead security key ... What is the best way to find that? it is not something I can ping.

Shotgun: Doesn't exist anymore.
Auto: Stagger, low damage
Burst: Slightly less stagger, more damage
Sniper: Long tracking time, high kill potential
honestly the "nerf" to burst sentry burst delay makes it better

use it for maps where there's long straights
Like Wes said sniper makes use of long straight areas
it has 50m range
so it's got vastly more range than the other sentries, unfortunately there are not too many of those this rundown
it still can get some use in other areas though with longer than typical LoS

you should only have access to one, since the other is in the secondary layer so that you can complete the main afterwards

No.
If you load back to lobby, you are leaving the expedition, which means no checkpoint loads.
You can only adjust player slots from in-game, everything else requires a full exit.

We are like running frantic not knowing how to shut it off
You need to rush through a few zones and find the terminal. You can query the terminal before the allarm to know which room to look for
I'd advice to leave 1 / 2 ppl defending in the ladder depending on skills and the other 2 to look for it
Place a sniper sentry below to get the shooters as they will bother you
The other missions dont have these elaborate "set pieces" and voice logs playing when you open doors and stuff, but there are still text and audio logs in every other level.
Well I found a terminal but I don’t know what the code is for it
If its the correct terminal you can type "commands" to have the command you need at the bottom of the list
I think it's Deactivate_Alarms or something like that
So I just type commands and it’ll display it for me?

jup, you'll get a list of all commands the terminal can execute and the relevant one to you will be the lowest one on that list
Sentries on the stairs leading to the lower levels are probably the best call. The scan locations are also the same every time for this scan, so you can try to remember the locations and set up for specific choke points close to these scans.
gotcha even if we only have one sentry?
With one sentry you can either gamble for a staircase of your choice and hope the enemies favor that path or you just carry it around and place it for every scan location
Did they change which way the creatures come do you during a security breach. I thought they always come whichever way is faster to you but I had three different attempts where they came from different ways. Is it random now?

It was on C1 it was just a level 4 security alarm door and we cfoamed door closest to us and they came from opposite door. I thought they come whichever way is faster.

They can spawn in different parts of the same room so they can spawn closer to different doors and just go a different one instead. If you mean the first scan in C1, I would just advise you leave the doors on the upper floors open to funnel them through, otherwise you have way to many doors to prepare.

they dont care about foam
they spawn two rooms away, so keep that in mind when preping
if theres a single door they have to go through two rooms away then thats a door youll benefit alot from cfoam and mining
I don't now the layout perfectly for that scan but in most cases you can predict it
In terms of pathing, enemies will focus the fastest route to get into the room, ignoring cfoamed doors, the size of the door, and ladders. They will still climb ladders, but they don't account for the extra time taken to do so
If a door to the room is open they will go to the open path. I.E. Funneling
It was like the area for a security door that had a huge middle section with ladder you could climb up this tiny building and just camp up there

Hey, I apologize if this is too much of a noob question, but some friends and I who are new to the game just reached B1 and were struggling to stealth kill the scouts without alerting them. Namely, we noticed the sniper can take em out with a headshot which works well enough when they're alone, but a fully charged spear to the face didn't seem to be doing it (we were able to get close without alerting them once or twice to try this but they started doing the scream thing afterwards). Should I be aiming for the back of the head or can they not be stealth killed? Do we need multiple people to attack at once in stealth or just one of us?
they can be stealthed by just one person, but if u trigger them they'll be immune for a few seconds before screaming
did the head pop when you hit the scout?
It did not
With the spear, just have to full charge the head
Guessing we alerted then when we tried to swing

Is the trick to attack them as they move in that case?

Trick is to have them walk towards you, or have it be stationary
if u touch a feeler, u have less than a second and a half to kill it before it goes blue
You have at least a second after touching a tendril
Tried this, hit it square in the face with a fully charged spear (I know the spear was fully charged and think it was the face), it wasn't blue/hadn't extended tendrils yet, and it didn't die. I'm guessing I must've hit the chest on accident or something?

Lol, I work on some games myself so I just like playing them to relax and admire what makes each interesting and fun
the crosshair in the center becomes small when the target is within range, keep that in mind when going for a scout

What's generally considered the best melee? The only other time I played besides today was Rundown 1 or 2 on the first level and I remember the hammer was the only option back then.

Also, is there any reason to use the sniper sentry over auto or burst sentries? I see that it obviously has longer range and does a crapton of damage, but it seemed to be prioritizing enemies poorly and hardly ever firing (maybe 2-3 times per security segment)
I did see people recommended it with cpu boosters, but I don't have those quite yet
it takes around 4 seconds to lock on and then 2 to fire after
4 seconds for the initial shot, 2.8 for each follow up

i'm literally telling you that when we designed the role for knife, we intended for it to not be able to kill scouts.
The fact it can kill scouts is the bug
There's a separate bug about melee damage multipliers not working correctly, which could explain why the knife can sometimes kill scouts.
We're going to fix the melee damage multi, because it's important to fix that bug. I'm not the one who balances the melee weapons, so who knows what'll happen after that bug gets fixed, but currently, the role of knife is to not be able to kill scouts

my 3 man group seems to having trouble in C1. It's our first time playing it GTFO. We 100% hp/ammo fully before starting the final event. w/ us having around 40-60% on our burst turrets but we can't seem to beat the event, any tips?
our load outs are dmr+sniper machinegun+sniper and smg+shotgun
Just run around, easier to avoid them than shooting

There’s a small door to the left of the apex door you could use to mine and foam that’ll hold them off for a bit
Placing both sentries facing the stairs leading down also helps immensely
there really isnt much more to it than shoot
you should all have max ammo so don't worry about using it up
we got to 98/99% one time and then we just flop.

There’s only 1 real threat concerning giants and it’s that one zone leading to the 6 scouts
HEL weapons are pretty strong
and we move/use the turrets to chokepoints.

Up to the final stairs you can just move and shoot, for that final part just back off the scan and clear
so if anything, no sniper or if we do a sniper/dmr we don't multi up on it so much.
we ran 2 sniper or dmr and sadly this last case 2 sniper 1 dmr (1 person had both) because of the big boy room.
for us they tend to pack up too tightly.
and run a machinegun or something like that.

my duo c1 run ended because the bots ran in front of us on the last stairs and got downed
so they'll help but its up to rng
we had a 4'th (before they dc'd on us) and it felt a bit harder for us, we tended to lose in the scout room every time.
the thought of melee only runs like that scare me lmao.
the scouts and big dudes, having to melee them... ugh.
