1. Keep it civil and do not make personal attacks or use offensive language in addressing others. Absolutely no harassment, witch hunting, sexism, racism or hate speech will be tolerated. Furthermore, discussions regarding politics, religion, sex, or the like will be removed. Discussions or content that feature anyone such as individual or groups of users in a negative view including but not limited to topics of mental health, disabilities, fandoms, will not be tolerated.

2. Content generally accepted as NSFW (Porn, Gore, Nudity, etc) and anything remotely like it is not allowed in any capacity. This extends to both Media and Text. A clear intent to post such may result in an immediate ban without warning pending the severity.

3. Please keep conversations in English whenever possible. We understand this may be difficult for many of you so you can speak in your native language but do try to avoid long conversations. This allows moderators and other users to assist best. Exceptions are granted in the Looking For Group Channels, Voice Channels, as well as moderator discretion based on situational needs.

4. Don't promote or advertise anything without prior mod approval. This includes, but is not limited to: Twitch/YouTube channels, Clans, Discord servers, or communities. GTFO Content can be promoted in our Content Creators channels. In addition, solicitation, buying, trading or selling of goods and services is not permitted.

5. Don't spam. This includes, but is not limited to: unnecessarily tagging any user or group, sending excessive amounts of messages, emoji, or emoji reactions at once or constant use of capital letters. This extends to within the server and in DMs.

6. No inappropriate profiles (usernames, nicknames, avatars, banners, status text, etc.). This can include: blank names, unusual unicode, political views, slurs, or any other offensive material. Mods reserve right to reset or change nicknames if necessary. In addition alternative accounts / multiple accounts are not allowed in the server if there is already another account in and will result in a removal of said account. Furthermore, impersonating anyone in order to defame, to get them in trouble or try to mislead others is not tolerated.

7. Please use the provided voice channels appropriately. Do not hop into various voice channels to look for a group, follow, harass, troll or otherwise disturb users, and do not join a channel without an invitation from a LFG post or a personal invite. Furthermore, broadcasting movies and TV shows is not permitted as per discord community guidelines. You are free to screen share games in any of the voice channels, as long as the game abides our server rules.

8. Be sure to follow Discord's Guidelines (https://discordapp.com/guidelines), and their Terms of Service (https://discordapp.com/terms).

9. Be sure to mark any content that has a likelihood of spoiling someone. This means that for 2 weeks after something major is released you must use Discord's spoiler formatting and include non-spoiler context when submitting the content. This includes GTFO content such as Rundowns, Expeditions, as well as other content like major Movie/TV Show releases, etc. You can use #gtfo-spoiler-chat to talk about anything GTFO related without spoiler tagging, outside of there it needs to be tagged if within 2 weeks of release. 10. If a moderator asks you to stop something, please comply. Just because something isn't explicitly outlined in the rules doesn't mean Moderators aren't going to use their own fair and unbiased discretion. In addition do not block any staff (Mods, Admins, Devs). If you have questions, ask our mod team by messaging @keen shell.

11. Please do not spoil unreleased content (things you can't access immediately by playing the game normally.) This includes (but isn't limited to) information, screenshots and videos of unreleased weapons, tools, enemies, props, environments, game mechanics as well as audio clips. Encouraging cheating or sharing resources for cheating is also not permitted. If you'd like to report a violation, please message @keen shell to reach the server staff. Data mined weapon stats, enemy health and voice lines available via in-game may be shared but keep it in #gtfo-spoiler-chat.

12. We do not currently support modding for GTFO, as we - first and foremost - must focus our efforts on delivering the high quality game that we've promised on the product page. For this reason, the use of most mods and the posting of most modded content is not permitted and still against the Terms of Service. There are though a few exceptions to this rule here on Discord, which are:

  • Cinematic mods
  • Visual mods which have no impact on gameplay
  • Quality of life mods
    However, any mods used must only affect your own gameplay experience and at your own risk. If moderators believe you are using a mod maliciously even if it follows these guidelines they can decide to treat it as a disallowed mod, if you are not sure about whether a mod would be allowed or not you can always DM the community manager.
