i suspect that the real issue that makes the magazine feel so small is that actually landing exactly 3 headshots and 3 bodyshots with the hsmg, with its horizontal recoil, isn't necessarily reliable, and if you don't get exactly that its just straight up worse than the AR and you put more bullets down range for less killing and a smaller mag
i feel like you're misunderstanding my statement
after testing and trying to achieve the performance that the numbers could hypothetically support, i run into the magazine size constraint you mention a lot
and that matches my past experience with the gun
if the gun was more accurate with less bloom and recoil, i wonder if it'd work better in living up to those numbers
I feel heavy variants of guns are just useless, they offer nothing different from the regular counterpart
They kinda took the same apporach to it to both of them so i dont know what the're vision of the gun its suppose to be
they just cut the mag added some slight damage improvement and gave it some cool sights
I rather have them release guns like saw off that actually change how we play and bring more variety to the table

i think the ability to run around between shots, the burst damage aspect, is something that doesn't necessarily get mentioned a lot

a lot of games have that for shotguns
wouldn't make sense for the mag loaded ones but it could for the sawed off
a lot of guns have the requirement that you basically sit there and commit to shooting to kill/stagger. You're a lot more mobile when the damage required to kill happens in an extremely brief moment, like with the sawed off, and i find positioning and dodging to be way easier with it than most other primaries
its funny, i walked in expecting to hate the gun. In most games i play, sawed off shotguns suck horribly.

frankly i think the reason i love the gun so much is that with how fast the enemies are now, i feel like i run into a lot of situations where enemies end up in the sawed off's range

and a lot of guns are harder to use at that distance, esp primaries
usually they balance shotguns for theyre multiplayer counterpart
so usually theyre either super awesome or just crap
i remember loving the long range on the shotguns in payday 2, which was another game that benefitted from not having to make their balance around pvp
i feel like the pump could perhaps use more range to help it in scenarios where the combat shotgun isn't viable, to help differentiate it more. that's my only real annoyance with the shotguns right now, that in most of the ranges i'd like to have the pump, i'd rather have the combat shotgun
I think shotguns are in a good spot, i would make the pump have tighter spread to pull charger oneshots more reliable

its good has a lot of ammo, and you cannot go wrong with in any map....... well maybe floodways but even then theyre always nice
pump could use slightly more ammo and a tighther spread for more reliable one pumps on chargers, since now you kinda have to be right infront to pull one off
a little more safety wouldnt hurt the gun
its already pretty strong at everything, from small to giants
i tend to find that when fighting groups i struggle to clear them with it, which is obviously the combat shotgun's niche so of course it gets out performed there
but most of my gameplay has been stuck in the A and early B tiers so the enemies i fight tend to be of a certain type
if its you vs the horde then yes, but if you have a teammate by your side dealing with waves its pump specialty, 8 guarantee striker kill gives so much breathing room
you are basically clean up crew when you have pump

i never pull out the shotgun and wonder "if i mess up and start missing shots am i gonna get screwed here"
and it can take out enemies attacking team mates from a further distance without clipping those teammates pretty reliably

it's mostly placement rather than quantity imo

imo burst isnt the greatest, just get an auto at that point
sentry placement is the key factor in what makes a sentry good
Regardless of how you place your burst sentry, the sniper sentry will perform better using less tool
I've never had its targeting speed be an issue

The best place to start is either with friends or using the lfg beginners channel
Is amount of enemies always same and they just placed randomly or even amount of enemies random?
We've had some examples where the spawn location was set as well
To add onto this (or make it more easily understandable imo):
Sometimes you'll have 2-3 of a set enemy spawning within 5-6 rooms. Which room(s) they spawn in, and whether they spawn in the same or different rooms is RNG, but you'll always have 2-3 - never 4, or 1.
?? you can have up to 14 or more spawning in rooms. Spawn patterns depend on room size etc and how the game decides to put enemies in rooms

not always in the same rooms but always a certain amount in a certain set of rooms
Do cocoons respawn scouts? In my experience in A3 they don't but apparently in D2 they do

I never had that issue but I had an issue where if I switched headphones the audio would come out of my laptop instead. The mic still worked

hey so i played a bit for the first time last night and i was having a serious issue with seeing.. is that intended? haha i know it's probably a stupid question but especially around the sleeping mobs are you really only supposed to navigate by sound with them or have a bioscanner to even see anything?

If you flash them they'll start to glow
If you flash em while they're glowing they'll start to pulse

they don't alert if you just shine their toes so you can keep your light on but just look at the floor at about 60 degrees

C2 high if you want to kite a lot of them
C2 high is probably the most accessible

and after that don't clear any rooms just sprint back to spawn ignoring the hub rooms
and have two people ready to kite the first, second and another second respawned hub room if something goes wrong
as long as you keep in mind that the hybrids exist you can round the 30 giants, big shooters and hybrids all the way to extreme and back
not that it's consistent use that as your final resort

yes, extreme and overload have their own bulkhead. the bulkhead for overload in A2 is on the rights side of the bridge area.
as a side note, what is "prisoner efficiency"? the badge for it appears right next to overload

how does precision mult work
Its a gun's individual crit multiplier, different from enemy headshot mult
So if a gun has 1 damage and it has x2 precision mult, it'll deal 2, multiply that with a striker's headshot mult, say x3, it'll now deal 6 damage
does precision multiplier only apply when you headshot

My friends and I just started a couple days ago and we’ve been struggling on this mission. After starting the alarm and moving to find a terminal to ping the HSU, these guys seem to charge at us while being extremely beefy and hitting super hard. Any tips other than hit their backs since I heard that’s their weak point?
Same as the little spiky boi that’s why the weak point is the same. But you don’t have a chance to hammer the big one when they are active. HEL rifle is the best one to stagger and deal damage at the same time
It does penetration shot so lining them up, shoot them 4 times then they will die

HEL weapons are always the meta of the game because of the penetration shot. Basically you can get through all maps with those weapons

You need two. However, since you are running, you don’t need two on one door for that map
You basically just want to find the HSU as fast as you can then kill everything in the HSU scan
@eternal flame if the HSU is in zone 96, go to the door at the very top of the stairs. if it's in zone 98, stay to the left without going through any doors. and the HEL rifle is the best weapon overall, not just for chargers

HEL gun is more like a support weapon when the HEL rifle users are in the middle of the charge up time and you help to kill your enemies for them

cfoam can be dropped for auto or another mine depending on how you feel

cause i mess up bhop alot 
One person is always going to be separated from the group a lot
So knowing how to do it without panicking is the key I guess
Especially when you wake up the entire room. If it’s just a bunch of small sleepers, just bhop and kill them all.

the funny thing is whenever i kite a room i woke i get shot more by my friends than getting hit from sleepers

I think a better strategy for people struggling with B4 is to focus a lot more on fighting the waves
Some general guidance:
- phase 1 generally spawns a wave every minute
- phase 2 generally spawns a wave every 2 minutes
- phase 3 generally spawns a wave every 3 minutes
You can completely skip the fog turbine if you guys can keep up and make sure you're ready at the next security door for each phase
there will be some fog pits ahead but you can just simply not walk into them
Try to only loot as many zones as you actually need
And be as efficient with your equipment as possible
I usually do both zones on phase 1 and only 1 zone on phase 2
Then whatever we can get on phase 3
If you're not looting anymore, you can find a good spot to hold and apply the 2 room away rule for where waves will be coming from
A lot of B4 is basically static so you could make as many notes as you want to make your future runs easier.
What does the burst sentry prioritize in targeting?
Does it account for weak spots or does it just shoot blindly at the nearest target?
I think all sentries aim for weakspots
what zone is the password protected terminal in C-3 in?
sentries shoot the target furthest from them and usually go hs then bs once the head gets destroyed

if you use the lfg channels like #lfg-beginners, it can be pretty easy to find a team
or just any group that is doing A tier levels on high as long as it doesn't say artifact hunting or speed running or 'know what to do' or something that implies have multiple hours in the game. and you should totally buy the game, very fun, and the community is pretty good for the most part

Wrong conclusion
They target whatever is first in range
Which means if it's aiming down a hallway, looking at their backs as they run past, the dude in front gets targeted and yes usually he will be the furthest from the sentry on shot
But it doesn't necessarily have to be like that
It'll continue to target the same dude until it dies or gets out of range
Depends on the sentry, sniper sentry currently targets anything with a head first

@sharp radish i think, since one of the most recent patches, there's issues with fog turbines if someone was holding the turbine while fog settings are changing
haven't tested that theory a whole lot
but it seems to be right for all situations i've ran into so far

Guys I have 2 questions: 1. I have this issue where I cannot reaload if I am crouching (I have my crouch key on hold, not toggle). 2. Where can I enable a red dot in the middle of the crosshair? I saw some people that have it in some Youtube videos.
first one is probably just keyboard issues - search keyboard ghosting. the second can be triggered by pinging (middle mouse button) during the drop/loading sequence, which causes a glitched x to remain in the center of your crosshair, if that's what you meant.

Buds and I were on the first stage - damn me for forgetting the designation - and we snuck past a handful in one zone, went to the next and got an alert there.
