now that i'm not being pinged in the middle of a game; the area was chilly for a mesozoic environment, but the earth overall was much warmer meaning that cold in the dinosaur's time would be actually pretty warm. Mark Witton points this out in his blog too, even colder areas like where pachyrhino was would be warm enough that pachyrhino would totally be able to survive without any major feathering.

On the topic of bracketing, feathers being totally absent isn't necessarily that accurate, in truth. Most accurate for very large animals would be the prehistoric planet rex. The babies are heavily feathered, and they don't actually lose these feathers as they age (we have no evidence of an animal transitioning from feathery to scaly, at best we have feathery to bald). In the prehistoric planet rex the babies just don't grow new feathers, so as their surface area increases their feathering becomes more sparse until you reach the adult which, in PP, does have feathers. A thin coat like this is totally possible and downright likely for theri or cheirus.

or at least, that's the interpretation Prehistoric Planet goes with. Obviously, that can vary; Saurian goes with a fully bald rex through its entire lifecycle.

I believe your GPU may be adequate but you might want to upgrade your RAM. 8GB of RAM is a tad on the lower end and 16GB is the new standard. Thankfully, upgrading RAM on a laptop is the easiest of upgrades to do on a laptop.

It can be a bit tricky, but for me what helped was doing a YouTube search for how to upgrade my RAM for my model of laptop and then watch the video of how they did it. It was really helpful and I was able to do it successfully

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, PoT is a great and enjoyable game (if you play on community servers, officials are sorta trash), and I find it less toxic and "relaxing" than The Isle. It has a lot going for it and the development is coming along rather quickly. I won't at all say it is better or worse than The Isle, but I do find myself enjoying playing it more and more as development comes along. Providing you have enough space on your device you should be able to run it a little better than The Isle right now as well. It's optimized a bit better I feel and can even be played on your mobile device.
