The actual value should be in here. I've heard in the past that you may have to apply the settings once or twice in the menu for it to actually be saved. Otherwise you can just change it manually in the doc directly.

Just try to save it. If it overwrites it then you can try to apply the settings in the menu (apply it twice) and if still doesn't work you can try and put it in read only.

@queen axle I've checked in on it: So the blurriness is caused by the false resolution in your settings. The 3D resolution in my (updated) settings is at 0 too, but it's at normal quality in-game.

You should go in your NVIDIA settings and check if you have some settings set to a value that could cause your poor visuals. Since you're on a stronger card, I'd recommend just trying out setting it to quality in the overall 3D-Settings. Or you go into the advanced settings and check things like image scaling and texture quality. Might also wanna give the resolution tab a shot and check if everything's set to the correct values there.

Hello, for some reason I am unable to get more than 12 fps in Evrima. I haven’t played since mid April and decided to play last night and could barely move my character. The graphics were horrific and the foliage barely loaded in. In April, I had over 80+ fps, with the graphics all set to high or epic, with the exception of shadows. I uninstalled the game from steam and reinstalled but had the exact same issue. I then tested it on my ROG Ally (last played on April 2nd) and had the same issue. Any ideas as to what can be causing this? Is there a setting I should change or an old file that needs to be deleted? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if this can be fixed but uhm I also have a performance issue (a very weird one), just with the exception being that for some reason upon deleting the config file (a friend of mine said it could improve my fps even more), it instead of that got way worse that it's unplayable for me now. That is still even when I validated and reinstalled the game, nothing helped. Someone knows what to do? By the way before deleting the file I had lowest graphic settings and the max fps I could get to was around 22. Once I deleted the config though and opened the game it for some reason keeps trying to be at forced high graphics (flicking between 1-15 fps) even if I set it all the same like before (noticed because of the high quality sky that appeared to me after doing the said thing, and the dinosaur looks glossy even if it's not raining.)

plus, some settings work far better at medium than at low, for example: shadows

and effects/materials is the one i found that consumes the most of the gpu

delete config folder to reset settings
click apply 2x or 3x to make sure
tune the settings down (some works better at medium)
disable lumen
put 3d render at 46/47

(nb. after adding exception to your antivirus for the isle you may need to delete the 'The Isle' game folder from where it is installed (right click on the isle in steam - properties - installed files - browse to find the location where the game is installed which will open as a File Explorer window in the background in the taskbar) and then maybe restart your pc/laptop then back into windows and run steam again and see if it successfully downloads the game again and runs ok)

yes, its up to date. Im playing on Pop OS, steam install. The Isle worked fine, untill i switched to the Evrima beta, then it stopped launching and gives me a "Fatal Error" when I go to launch

I got the proton GE distro installed, still does not work, same error

I wish I could post pics, When I launch the game in normal default mode, it launches, no servers of course, but I can get into the game, so I know it runs. As soon as I switch to the Evrima update, it fails

i played legacy again earlier this year (not played legacy since 2020/2021) and i remember at the start no servers came up but then i think i left it for 5 mins or so and when came back to pc the screen was full of servers and ended playing for a short time on an australian legacy server

also a few months back i switched to isla spiro branch for some nostalgia and there was one server i was able to play on i think in denmark or germany ... was fun playing isla spiro again

maybe one of the others will know more when they log in later?

Idk whats wrong. Yesterday evening i was playing fine, logged off, logging back on today and i cant start the game. An error about some file missing popped up (forgot to screenshot and cant seem to replicade), so I tried to validate the games files which made it update for broken/missing files but it cant finish due to the "Disk write error". Then I un- and reinstalled the game but it cant finish that either due to the same error. Other games update/play fine.

sanctuary mushrooms seems to be okay, but I'm not playing in the officials (only admin server) so I don't know about the spawn rates of the nutrients

what I know is: migrations tend to change each 5 minutes if they trigger a bug, migrations tend to not spawn many lines (and a lot of S)

Ok, so this is weird.... yesterday I had frame rate issues, and switching V-sync on made my FPS go up significantly. Today, it is the exact opposite, I logged on and hade FPS troubles again, switching V-sync OFF resolved it. What the hell is the rule of thumb when it comes ot V-sync???

If you are experiencing issues with your controls since the latest update (can't move camera, unable to court, etc) then please try wiping your config files in localappdata.

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Press the Windows key
3. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
4. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
5. Open the "Saved" folder.
6. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults.
7. Restart the game. The issues should be fixed.

Does anyone know a fix for this.
When I play, I will have about 120fps, play normal. Then all of a sudden, my frames seem to drop all the way down, and if I turn it's almost like the screen is smearing for a second then I will see things normally, then it will smear again as soon as I move my mouse.
When I go into settings, click apply (without changing any settings), the frames will go back up. But I can't do this in the middle of a fight. It happens with no one else around and around others.
I have tried changing all my settings to the lowest, nothing. I have updated my graphics card. Any setting that has an on and off I have tried with both.

it can also be if the easy anti-cheat has flagged the client/player for cheating/hacking ...

(my comment: epic online services/easy anti-cheat don't want players knowing too much about how it all works as they are trying to stop hacking/cheating - so can only speculate in general why some genuine players appear to be encountering this issue and offer general solutions such as ensuring easy anti-cheat/the isle game is properly installed/updated and not being blocked by antivirus/firewall or a permissions issue, checking for potentially conflicting software apps such as keyboard/mouse/gamepad macro/remapping/rgb lighting or scripting software etc, windows up to date (including optional updates) and running latest windows version, graphics driver up to date, latest c++ runtime installed, .net framework up to date etc, try running steam and the isle game .exe as admin - with admin rights)

if you have a discrete graphics card and onboard integrated graphics gpu (in the cpu) then windows will determine which one to use when a game runs but you can manually select and tell windows to use the more powerful of the two for a specific game/app - which would normally be your discrete graphics card ...

can check what power plan windows is using:

windows start - in the search box type powercfg.cpl and run that

in the selected plan (Power/Balanced/High Performance) choose Change plan settings if you want to change ... you need to check though if your pc/latop cpu and gpu are already running at a high temp as switching to a high performance plan could be detrimental

also can check in NVIDIA Control Panel (right click on an empty space on your desktop. It should be one of the options in the menu) → Manage 3D Settings → Global Settings or Program Settings (to custom set for Isle game only), and check “Power Management Mode” eg. “Prefer Maximum Performance.” if you have adequate cooling hence check gpu temp/cpu temp

If you're having FPS issues, you could try what I did, toggle the V-Sync on/off. Doesn't seem to be standardized to resolve things by specifically have it on or off, but for me for instance, on EU 5, having it switched on gives my FPS a significant boost. And then on every other EU server, it gives the same boost to have it switched off. It doesn't make any sense, but play around. ^^

Ok below what I would call minimum for Evrima, but you should get 30fps on low/medium settings ay 1080p

Try this bit of maintenance below, wont hurt

Verify the game in steam

Update your GPU Driver and your Windows to the latest version

Delete the games Config file to reset all settings

How to Delete the Config folder

1. If running The Isle, exit the game.
2. Open File Explorer.
3. Click the address bar at the top.
4. Type %localappdata% then press Enter.
5. Find "TheIsle" folder. Open it.
6. Open the "Saved" folder.
7. Delete the "Config" folder. Note: This will reset any of your custom settings to their defaults, may also improve performance
8. Start the game.

Note: Due to a known bug that stops settings sticking, Hit 'Apply' in settings before or during every play time, may improve performance

One huge issue with that card is that it only has 4GB of Vram, 6GB is probably minimum for Evrima

How much system RAM do you have? 16GB of system RAM is the minimum for smooth gameplay, thing is it could be more than just one thing

Hello, I just install The Isle on my laptop and when I go to open it the game says easy anti cheat is not installed
Steps taken so far: verify integrity of game files
Reinstalled
Ran as admin

For the disc write error, try repairing the steam library. iirc, click Steam in the top left corner, click Settings, click Storage, and there should be a repair button there
