devs cannot see the difference between spawned playable and connected players so they display spawned dinos as players on the server. So when server is full and you see 96/100 it means that 4 players are in selection screen

You're a minority to have problems connecting/launching the game. If your only problem is that the servers are full just keep trying and you'll get in eventually, or try an unofficial server.

Hi, can I just ask why the servers are so small. For the last two days it's taken me over and hour to get in and today I cant get in after 2 hours of trying. Surley just have servers of 200 which would be way more interactive.

Your drivers aren't up-to-date, but I'm unsure it still receives updates, seems pretty old; and, most importantly, it only supports feature level 11_0, so it can't support the features now used by the game. Sorry. :/

To join the counter has to be at 100/100, and the server needs the queue option turned on. (only some official servers have it)
Its also boken and doesnt let you join even if you join the queue

Yeah, its different for each kind of graphics card, but their website, or typing like "Nvidia graphics card drivers" in google should give you a webpage of theirs with either a list of them, or some software to do choose the right one

For anyone encountering fatal errors leading to crashes You will have to manually uninstall “The Isle” from Steam. This issue is typically caused when someone switches from the Legacy to the EVRIMA branch.
Open “Steam”
Right Click The Isle
Select Properties > Local Files > Browse Local Files
Delete everything inside of The Isle’s folder.
Then

• Press Windows key.

• Type "Run" to launch Run program.

• Type in "%localappdata% and click 'Ok'.

• Search for TheIsle folder.

• Delete the TheIsle folder once it has been located.

It has also been known to be caused by strict permissions with a Windows User Account and/or strict Anti-Virus settings

Please reduce what Windows and/or Anti-virus will block as far as programs go. You may need to create a new Windows User account to bypass the issue.

-If the above fails, make sure your GPU/GFX Drivers are updated. If you already updated them, uninstall them and reinstall them if the issue persists.

Yeah I was already familiar with those fixes. Some can help, however the one that works the most according to my observations here is simply to update the drivers, or to uninstall them using DDU and then reinstall them. The last fix he suggests, to edit the registry, it's pretty useless to do (and it can be quite risky to mess with the registry), it doesn't prevent the crashes, it only delays them.

Other potential fixes is to lower the graphics settings, the FPS cap, and the resolution as well. The crashes are due to an issue with DX12 rendering, so basically asking less of your hardware can help.

I fear we will have to wait for a hotfix for those issues to be solved, but yeah, updating the drivers and asking less of your GPU is pretty much the only options for now.

    • check your temperatures, google normal temperatures for your hardware this is very specific to your parts (but above 100°C is always bad)
    • make sure the PC/laptop has enough airflow
    • clean the fans (look online for tutorials)
    • check if all fans are working
  • corrupted system files -> have windows repair them
    • press Windows key
    • find the "Command Prompt" app
    • right click and "Run as Administrator"
    • paste sfc /scannow
    • press enter
    • make sure to "Restart" (not Shutdown and boot back up as this might do a "quick boot" which is not what we want)
  • missing windows update -> check for updates
    • press Windows-Key
    • type "check for updates"
    • click it and install all missing updates
    • reboot, even if it doesn't say you have to (for good measure)
  • corrupted or outdated drivers -> update drivers (get them from the manufacturer)

  • outdated BIOS -> update (procedure is very manufacturer specfic)

    • this is is so technical that you should be looking for help elsewhere now
