Detailed Feedback: Juvenile Rex vs. Juvenile Triceratops & General Trike Mechanic Issues
I am submitting detailed feedback regarding a recent engagement and general observations on the Triceratops mechanics that currently break combat balance.
The Mobility Gap (Juvi Rex vs. Juvi Trike)
During a recent encounter, a Juvenile Trike was able to consistently outpace and run down my Juvenile Rex (28% growth).
The Issue: A juvenile predator should not be an easy target for a juvenile herbivore of similar growth. The current speed scaling allows the Trike to act as an aggressor/hunter, which completely flips the intended survival roles.
Hitbox Inconsistency: Sparring Priority
During the fight, bites clearly aimed at the Trike’s flank/body were registered as Sparring hits (head-on).
Problem: The Sparring hitbox appears to have an oversized radius that "overrides" side attacks. This makes it nearly impossible for a Rex to punish a Trike's positioning, as the game forces a frontal collision animation even when attacking from the side.
The "Thrash" Ability Hitbox Flaw
Beyond my specific encounter, there is a persistent issue with the "Thrash" (horns in ground) ability that affects all growth stages.
The Issue: The damage hitbox for Thrash is not aligned with its animation. Although the animation shows the Trike planting its horns in the ground in front of it, the damage is often applied in a full circle around the model.
Observation: Players are frequently hit or killed by the rear/tail of a Triceratops while it is using Thrash. An ability focused on the head should not deal lethal damage to anyone positioned behind the animal. This lack of a "dead zone" makes the Triceratops unfairly protected from all angles during this move.
Summary & Suggestions:
Speed Scaling: Adjust Juvenile Trike speed so it cannot easily chase down Juvenile apexes.
Sparring Detection: Refine hitboxes so that flank bites register as damage, not as a head-on sparring lock.
Thrash Accuracy: Narrow the Thrash hitbox to a frontal cone. It should be physically impossible to be hit by "the tail" of a move that uses the horns.

Why can a 910kg pachy jump but a 700kg dilo can't?
