I've been wondering, the valheimplus grantapher temporary, is does it interfer with many other mods, or just some?
it astounds me that they can alter a games core, for updates, so much that it breaks almost all mods... i mean really? i know bepinex is pretty much just hacking inot the engine, but still... what are we doing here reading memory directly or somehting equally chopshopish?

Well the code in the mods needs to be compatible with the code in the game. If the game changes certain code elements, then the mods have to match that or they break. Obviously.

as above, i suspect bepinex is literally directly accessing the games memory, so any change they make to it will alter the offsets of those locations.... i cant imagine anyhting else that would be so disruptive
It could be changing code things like adding new class categories for items or actions or visual effects. Or maybe new division headers similarly. Any mods using the old ones would break.

Doubtful. Changing anything makes extra work. No one likes that or does it without good reason. And Valheim is an 'early access' game so changes are inevitable.

Hey question: does bepin ex need to be updated before mods can be used again or is the mods themselves being updated enough?
Bepinex shouldnt require an update, it's the mods that do.

I don't know of many mods that didnt break, so I would suggest making sure that you find updated or wait on mod authors to update - often they list a means of contact such as discord that you can find out if they are working on an update.
I appreciate it, i usually only play with a few QOL mods like speedy paths, compass and tree respawns (for my no map world) and none of these have been updated. It does however seem that they work after updating Jotun lib. ill have to run some tests
very possible that they work then, JVL or jotunn is a lib that authors can build their mod with, if that is updated then mods built on jvl should work.
kinda funny that I used to call it the retirement home for authors, cause they can build with jvl and quit modding so long as jvl is updated, but now I'm starting to wish for retirement of updating.
Ha, it's called divided responsibility. It's intentional to have a common API so that mods only need to update if their parts are out of date
Yeah, I think any mods that I resurrect in the future, I will add JVL. I know a lot of modders are getting burned out on this game. They should definitely add JVL before leaving.
I mean, of course Jotunn isn't a silver bullet. But mods definitively tend to require less maintenance
It is great for my purposes, I still had 5 mods to fix but not having to touch the ones that use Jotunn saves much time
haha yeah, retirement home was just a joke, it's improved 100% since it first started and great for new or experienced modders.

though I do love the managers, sometimes knowing about a feature is finding out after requesting it, "oh when was that added?" like 10 updates ago, i just didnt document it.
Oh definitely, it got a lot of improvements in the past two years. The removal of mmhook and lazy loading of systems being the biggest one IMO. But well, I've basically re-wrote half of the backend

Anyone know if there's a mod that levels all of your combat skills at once?
Eg. Using a knife levels all your melee weapon skills, not just Knives.
I really dislike how once you start using a weapon type a lot, you're pretty much locked into it because you have so much skill progress in it.
(mainly dislike it because there's no ashlands tier knife, and theres a bunch of other gaps in weapon progression, like no blackmetal spear)

Anybody know how I would go about making a mod that would improve sailing with tames? I'm thinking I could force tames to be happy while on a boat, so they don't jump off, and I could potentially disable tames (specifically loxes) from damaging boats and/or all player built pieces

One of the weirdest breaks I saw recently was an inventory mod breaking all crafting

The problem is that whenever my friend plays he gets terrible lag around me. This is for regular MP or dedi server, both on high speed internet. He claims it may be all the items I put in the chests but I dunno...
Something to consider... Internet connections that are high speed, even when tested by the user, may still have lousy routes to a particular destination. Lots of dropped packets, or just lousy hop(s), etc. in the route.
So 'high speed' internet is meaningless when talking about the comm link to a particular destination.
Also, does he notice the lag only when near you or only near the chests or only when near both you and the chests?

Well that rules out the chests, anyway. So it's likely either yours or his comm link. That's assuming it happens only to him.
If both of you felt it, it might be something about the world. Like high instance counts or super active areas (Ashlands).
We never did Ashlands. I think that the best solution might be a hosted server from some company as opposed to the dedicated I run from home. I know some have mods but yeah
We both know how to use modpacks so if creating one is necessary but can be used on the hosted service fhats cool
Why don't both of you first try using the BetterNetworking mod (should be on the server, too). That's free, at least. And there are comm link booster applications he could try, too. Like Cloudflare's "Warp" app, which is free for personal use.
There are other service apps like the Warp app that you can find with a google search, if you want to.

is there a mod that makes so instead of having to make two portals with the same name and only being able to teleport through one another, you can make any amount of teleporters and teleport to any by choosing when interacting with the portal, or something close to this..?

Also, the dverger models are all bald and have no beards
Only the skeleton can properly use player gear.
All other models can equip but it will not be visually correct.

You can use MagicalMounts and then use the Cosmic Cell to put your creature in the cell.
You can use CarryMeMaster to pick it up by hand and then releasing it once you've gone through!
Oh, there's also PortablePals from meldurson you can use.

r2modman is a mod manager, manual download, unzip and install the program
Make sure you delete old mod files once you start using r2modman. If you're not sure which to delete just do the whole valheim installation and then verify your game files through steam settings -> installed files tab

You can just delete the Valheim or Valheim dedicated server folders because your Worlds and Characters are stored elsewhere. Is that correct?

It's possible you still have old mods sticking around that are broken. If not we would need to see the bepinex/logoutput.log file to verify what mods are loading and the errors you are seeing

Advize in the Modding Discord says that the memory leak issue is occuring to some folks per the Bog Witch update, and that it aint mod related.
Causes a few stutters in gameplay but otherwise not world ending. Not sure why but when I open my hammer menu FPS tanks too.

Best thing would be to go to thunderstore.io website and join the Valheim community there and then download their r2modman mod manager.
Spend a little time exploring it and seeing how the buttons work. You can go online and search for mods and then just click to install them. Install BepInEx mod first.

Has anyone tried the updated Marketplace mod on bogwitch? It loads and you can place NPCs, but even though the cfg files are correct. Yes, I did see the patch notes, and this is not the yaml config file, its the cfg files for the npcs

The last time I used that mod, it worked fine with no problems. You can live with the lag for now or temporarily disable it until more mods are updated.
Alternatively, you could trouble shoot any possible mod incompatibility problems by disabling other mods and testing to see if you can get it fixed that way.
This has happened to me too. No errors, but a message saying some raider helm, etc
I had to disable it BUT... it is possible that the error is with the viking ship spawns. Tonight I will try shutting off all the ship stuff but leave raids and land personnel on.
In the meantime, does anyone have any other NPC mods? I know Horem has one but I hate the weird goblins it adds

Its a mod that messes with the stamina stuff. Do you have any mods that affect stamina?
only evasion by smoothbrain that i know of but I still have the error with that one out

Try disabling the following to see if it works: Evasion, Vitality, PlantEverything, AzuSkillTweaks, Blacksmithing.
same error, but one of those was causing the all characters being bald men. those were apparently 2 seperate issues
It also seems the NPCS are not mining or chopping wood even if they have the tools
they are happy

For building mods that are vanilla themed check out Missing Pieces. I personally love Clutter for adding life to builds too along with one of the newer Gizmo mods so you can rotate stuff in fun ways.
As far as I've tried, Missing PIeces is still broken. Looks like no update for the last 6 months.

If you remove a mod with custom items and play without it you lose your stuff. Will have to restore a world backup or replace everything

well, we found the file, put in on server, but that mod feels like its bug, timer stops at 10:46-47, glitching and than go again

I always found messing with day/night lengths to have weird effects, like one person it ends up being day while it's night for me.

I think ValheimPlus still has that feature, I mean like most mods, everyone needs it, it syncs with the server so the setting there is enforced.

Hello, good evening, how are you, could anyone help me? I play Valheim on a custom map called βSantuarioβ, all terrains are modified with better continents mod. Will the new swamp NPC appear normally in the world, as I haven't fully explored the map yet, or is there a mod that generates new upgrade structures in locations that have already been explored?
The BogWitch_Camp location should appear automatically in your world as long as there is a suitable Swamp biome still unexplored for her to land in. If not, you can use the UpgradeWorld mod to add the location manually.

It is easier than some as it has some extensive directions you can follow. You can practice with it on a solo world to see how the Locations_add command works with it's 'start' and 'force' options per the instructions.
Before tackling that, you can use your F5 console devcommands 'find' command to see if the BogWitch_Camp already exists in your world. You'd need to have installed ServerDevcommands on the server and your game and be listed in the server's Adminlist file as an Admin there.

Also, on another quick note, and I know this is the mod-discussion area, but, not regarding hardware and connection, how many mods are too many mods π I know that a big question that can have 1000 answers, I am just curious in general. As far as hardware/connection, etc, I am not worried about that. π

As long as they all get along together with eadh other, you can go as high as you want. Keeping in mind that when a mod acts up, and you don't know which one did it, you'll have to trouble shoot all of them. So try not to use any you don't really want.
Troubleshooting alot of mods can be a pain. I have a process of how I add mods and update them. A sound troubleshooting method is very much needed when working with alot of mods.

I also try, and are able to most of the time, not mix mods that do the same things. Like for example the Wizardry mod and the magic plugin. They do very similar things. all be it a little differently. So I am evaluating now, if I keep both on the server or only go with one. I am leaning towards wizardry.

Hey all, bit of a long question here.
Been away from the game for QUITE sometime and really looking to get back into it. I've just seen that the modding side of Valheim looks to be in an incredible place. If you're just getting started with mods, I suggest that you go to thunderstore.io web site, join their Valheim community, and look through the mods that come up there.
They will be ordered by their update date and you'll want to stay with mods updated for the BogWitch game version. So, within the last week or so.
There is a modpak search button you can use to view just the modpaks, also sorted by latest update.
You'll want to download and use their r2modman mod manager. It makes using and managing your mods a lot easier and way less time consuming.

Good afternoon. Can someone tell me what the bug is related to when resources for summoning the boss are not spent? For example, there are only 2 Deer trophies, I use them on the altar - Eykture is called - these 2 trophies remain in the inventory and so on in a circle.
I know EnhancedBosses did that after Ashlands update, haven't checked if it's been updated. You probably have an error in your log about offering bowl, or something.
That's the joke. There are no errors in the logs. This problem is only when playing on the server. That is, if you play in your own world, then everything works fine. and there is no mod specified by you, but there is a Creature Level Control.
You're not using ServerDevCommands with God mode, and item usage turned off, are you?
No, players cannot use console commands, etc., because there is an Anti-cheat.

Yea, I'm not sure about what you're experiencing without an error. I'm doubting it's CLLC, maybe someone here has a better answer. My next thought would be something got corrupted on the server, since it works fine otherwise.

Yes, very true. And I use InfinityHammer myself quite successfully for copy pasting bldgs.
However, I also recommend archiving a backup copy of your world before starting any kind of a project with InfinityHammer's copy/paste building function.
And, after pasting in a building, move out of render range of the pasted in structure and then come back in range to assure that the pasted in bldg. looks normal. I've had some unexpected issues with that in the past.

Working on 2.0. Bulk planting is now done in a coroutine and won't freeze your game no matter how many you place at once. Replant on harvest supports all modded plants automatically and also let's you choose which plant to replant with. LineRenderers are used to draw lines indicating row and column direction. All snapping logic has been redone from scratch, reducing jank and improving performance. The root placement ghost uses custom highlighting for a visual aid during placement. A few other things I'm forgetting about but have written down.
Currently working on a criss cross grid pattern where each odd row has its columns offset. Adding in a few last minute things.

Hey Iβve spent 30+ hours over the past few months trying to get mods to work on the new versions of Valheim with no luck π¦
Iβve uninstalled and reinstalled mods and the base game tons of times and yes, Iβve made sure to use ones that have been changed for the most recent game update.
What arenβt working are any mods Iβve tried that affects textures. I just donβt know if theyβre out of date or if Iβm not doing it right, have watched every video I can online and none of them work for me.
Is there anyone that could help talk me through it? It would really mean a lot to me and make my week. Hope this isnβt against server rules but if someone can help me Iβd be happy to Venmo something as a way to say thanks
A couple questions to help diagnose the problem. You're working with the texture mods for your solo game and not for a server? Are you installing the mods manually or with a mod manager program?
Have you been able to check your log files to verify that the mods are loading without any errors? There is a Player.Log file in the same folder as your world saves. And there is a LogOutput.log inside the BepInEx folder. Both logs may have errors that could explain why the mods don't seem to work.
Is this the first time you've used these particular mods? Are you familiar with how they're supposed to work and can you easily see that they aren't doing their job?
Have you looked through the mod's .cfg and/or .yml files to see what options are available there that might change their performance? Do any of the ReadMe files advise that a particular resolution or game graphic setting must be used?
I need to go AFK now. It's late here and way past bed time. Perhaps others in a different time zone can jump in and help, too.

I havenβt checked the files, no, but there is no red error text on the launch info. Previously there were red error messages about certain mods not loading, but this is not always the case. I will check the logs in the game folder and bepinex next time I can.

Some of the mods are new ones that I havenβt used before. These are to see if the problem is just with older versions, but these mods donβt seem to be taking effect either.

I canβt say honestly that I am 100% sure how I am supposed to put them in the game folder since a lot of them have different structures. Most, though, I am very confident that I am putting them in correctly. For some, I am guessing that the texture names arenβt the same anymore or they canβt be changed in the same way and thatβs why theyβre not loading, but I could be wrong there.

Okay I found both the Player.log and LogOutput.log files and am reading them over.
From what I see, the mod is loading properly from the LogOutput file.
However, in the Player.log file itβs saying that some βreference scriptsβ are βmissingβ.
From what I can see here too it is saying that it canβt do a retexture for something because it is over the maximum polygon limit. βConsider simplifying your meshβ.
Iβll try one thing for that.

The errors about βConsider simplifying your meshβ are pretty common for servers especially. They probably aren't anything to worry about here.
The part of your post which is concerning is the missing reference scripts. If you haven't already done so, check the mod's web page and any ReadMe file that might explain where those are located.
Maybe do a manual download to your desktop and see if they are in the .zip file from the download. Also, you can go back to the mod's web page and see if you can locate the author for assistance. Perhaps on his/her own discord or with a link to another site for any information about the missing scripts.

I recommend picking up VNEI, it's like an in-game dictionary of all the prefabs and recipes. But it's blueberry and coal for dye on the workbench.
@serene swift I've been using ItemDrawers, but you are kind of locked into it since if you put stuff in drawers and then load the world without the mod installed, all your stored stuff will be gone when you load that save later, even with the mod

yes - but unless you have a .yml that customises a bunch of different variants you just tget the one standard smoothbrain backpack, out of the box. Theres a jamesjonestv mod that adds a bunch, but they are all content-explicit ones for very specific tasks... so i guess most people who want somehting esle make thier own
i made a series of different ones, but theyare all basically the same unless i can figure out how to apply the effect: config variable, and even blaxxun/smoothbrain couldnt give me a simple example of that, so i assume its not a case of adding an effect like 'meginjord', and more a case of writing a mod to hook into the effect you apply to the backpavck..... so i basically just use the bigass one i made, all the time, and toss different pouch sets into it

and if the packs arent in yoiur workbench drop some leather onto the floor and pick it up again... thats a backpacks issue
the whole packs thing is pretty janky to be hjonest, but it works for me nicely. Make sit a lot harder to accidentally dump them when emptying inv/backpack of stuff i collected, and i habitually check the gobags to make sure they are packed as expected.
Currently its basically:
green: general food + combat food, ooze, teleporter and 10 wood
orange: ballista
blue: taming gear from allTameable mod (hat, gloves, and two "wands"), taming food, maybe saddle

if you are a mod writer its (smoothbrain's) probably an excellent platform for making far more sophisticated packs, like vapoks adventurebackpacks (they have useful effects like front resist, strenght etc) , but i really want to be able to use bowsbeforehoes, so i'm using smoothbrains (again)
and Sb and vapok conflict due to using at least one of the same asset... the original boxy jotunn backback iirc... and i dont want to find out the hard way if AB conflicts with bowsb4hoes
What auto-pack / auto-fill mods did you try that caused you to lose items?
it was a recycler, by someone new to mod writing iirc, that made me lose items. I have more faith in the skills of people like azumatt, whos autoThingy i tried recently.... its just that they seem more complex than i need, so i tire of trying them out really fast
also, anyhting that pulls or pushes stuff to inv is a little scary to me, and theres a leanring curve with learning HOW to get them to do their thing in the desired amounts and places
also; re teleporters: TargetPortal cough is the best cough

Is there a mod that lets you build stuff that isnβt player owned? Like make a town and have monster spawns in it so when people play your world it can be a ruined city without mobs destroying the stuff?
Well, you could build a village or town with vanilla build pieces but then give the buildings infinite health so that mobs could attack them but the couldn't do any damage.
And you can suppress mob spawns in the area, although the village would still be subject to mob raids which would also do no damage to the buildings with their infinite health.
That may not be exactly what you want but it's a start, anyway.

Now when you build there's no creator to the piece.

I would guess not, since it han't been updated in a year. Some small outdated mods still work for me, but I'd think something as complex as networking would need an update. Only way to know is to try it and see if you get red text in the bepinex console
I couldnβt figure out what the problem with the reference scripts were but the good news is that everything is working even better than originally, since I have a better understanding now and the folders are better organized.
Honestly, getting the mods off thunderstore and using that manager was what really helped, since I think they were more up to date versions and it was putting everything in the right place. From there I was able to drag and drop stuff into the thunderstore mods for some changes and everything has been working great.

Hey guys I'm trying to use Vortex from Nexus Mods to install my mods. I'm having trouble getting it to run mods properly. When I launch the game via Vortex, I get a wall of red text in the log window. Any tips?
I should probably add that I have all game-related files installed on a separate drive from my main system files like OS etc.
I can click "open Bepinex Payload Folder", and the folder it opens is NOT on the same drive as all the other game files. Is that a problem? if so, does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks.
Delete Vortex, completely reinstall Valheim and then download Thunderstore modmanager instead.

I already have a virtual machine I use for my test server so my solution would be just running a client on that
Duplicate your Valheim folder and launch both clients.
Launch your server and simply connect to your local server with both clients.
If you don't have one then you can just download the server app via Steam Tools and launch that.

I've only used Network by smoothbrin, though the fix for server lag is usually "less mods"
We currently on vanilla. And the lag was bad from like day 2 of the server. Everyoneβs got great internet and lives near server, but it just game limitations with bandwidth/send/receive it seems is the issue
BetterNetworking works ok but it really depends on exactly what kind of network problem you have. You just have to test them and see which works for you. IIRC, you have more config options w/BetterNetworking. Check it as I could be wrong about that.
Issues weβve been having is the AI being out of sync between players, and just general stutters. But itβs not for all users. I believe it has to do with whoβs the chunk loader where the lag happens. Could be wrong
One of the networking mods might help with that. Put the mod on all players games as well as the server for best results. If you can identify which player and he's far away then a routing app like Cloudflare's Warp utility might help. It's free for personal use.

whoever arrives first is chunkmaster. But my money is on the casue being players setting high graphics, having weak/overloaded laptop CPUs and just thinking they should be able to set everything to ExTrEmE!! Becasue it barely works when they are alone in thier own game and dont have 50 tames/monsters or other players near them.

There are a few guides out there to increase FPS, however, mods do not usually increase FPS and usually have the reverse effect on it outside of a few.
There are some mods that may help to improve data sending between players, or mods like OdinsUndercroft or Basements that you can build/store things outside of ground load. OdinsKingdom I made optimized versions of the firepit and other light sources that helps cut down fps drain.
LightTweaks and ParticleControl by coemt are also good options to reduce fps drain.

Regarding the Jewelcrafting mod, anyone knows what the "Split Sockets" option does? The description says "If on, the sockets in utility, necklace and ring slots are split, if multiple items are equipped." but I'm not sure what that means.
It's to balance the mod better if using multiple utility items (ring, neck, + belt or something)
It will only allow you to use 3 gems throughout those items, if you have 6 sockets, only 3 will work, rest will say "no effect" when socketing.
I have a question about having a mod if you host a server. So i was planning on to have a "PlanBuild" mod, does it work if i have a friend to join the server if he dosent own the mod?
PlanBuild only works if it's installed on your game. When you have PlanBuild on your game and want to join a server, PlanBuild also has to be installed on the server.
Okay but what if i have PlanBuild, and make a single house then remove the PlanBuild mod will my friend be able to join?
Yes, the PlanBuild house is just like any other once it's built. It wouldn't cause problems.
He would only be unable to join if he still had PlanBuild on his game and it was not on the server.

are good, overlap a little so you can decide if you want a checkbox or an upgrade process to add shields etc, shudnals is the only one that offers ballistae afaik, but you can run one or both together and decide for yourself

Craft from Containers also shows how many of an individual item is in range

size. I really only want to add vegetation in a small area. if I use
vegetation_add terrain=50 it seems to affect the whole seed (takes forever).
Use ServerDevcommands mod to set your mini map to show your position. Then you can go to where you want to add the vegetation and add "zone=x,y safeZones=0" (using your position x/y zones in the mini map) to the command instead of "terrain-50".

Try the command on a test world first. Or at least have a good backup of your world. π
Also, you might want vegetation_reset instead of vegetation_add to just regrow the original vegetation. And, if you want to re-grow the trees, you can use InfinityHammer to find and select a large forest area and then copy/paste it where ever you want.
using ServerCharacters and TargetPortral mod on a dedicated server and the portrals always have to be "discovered" to be able to teleported to. Anyone seens this? As in I can go to portal 1 and 2 (they show directly when the chunck is loaded), quit the game and log back in, the portals are gone until I find them again

This mod does not give results even before the release of the Ash Lands. That's why I use Networking and ReturnToSender on my server. In combination, these two mods showed a greater effect than you indicated.

I also heard that with the Bog-witch and the Unity engine it's mod is no longer necessary but I'm not 100% sure
You can easily watch streams of different people where they are already playing in co-op on the current update of the game. The out-of-sync and lags have not gone away, because no one has canceled the system "whoever first entered the region is the owner of the region." Also, large buildings (where there are a lot of elements) still greatly lose fps. The new engine does not mean that performance will get better.
There are people here who are more knowledgeable in this matter - if anything, they will correct me.

Hi everyone. I am wanting to do a playthrough using epic loot this go around.
My server will ultimately have two instances running on different ports at all times. (my last mostly vanilla that friends are still active in, and the new one I intend to start with epic loot)
If i install epic loot on the server, will it impact the clients that are on my vanilla-ish server that are not running the mod?
"two instances" do each have their own folder directories or they both loading from the same exe. if using 2 folder directories for each instance it shouldnt have any impact on non-el users.
the mod is mostly client side anyways, the server really just enforces the configs for the client.

I am struggling with vegetation commands from the wonderful upgrade world (JereKuusela). In particular I am trying to reset vegetation at my pos like this:

This does nothing.
I also tried to remove things and reset afterwards, still nothing gets removed / affected.

What am I missing?
Did you do start command or add start to the command?
yes using start of course, did not affect anything
You can try force instead of safeZones=0. Because not sure if people use safeZones= that much so it could be broken.

I think the min/max values are the command radius. So maybe min=1 max=3 or something like that. Or maybe just max=2. Dunno. Been a long time since I played with that command. π

I've heard of good results with 'BetterNetworking'.
And also with using 'ReturnToSender' and 'Networking' together.
In both cases, they need to go on the server and all players to be effective.
Do they also work for PC hosted multiplayer?
They are mainly for PC hosted servers. If you can get them installed on a remote rented server, then they should work the same in that environment, too. I'm not at all sure you could get them put on the remote rented server, though. You'd have to put in a support ticket to find out about that.
Gotcha, so yes. I either host on my PC or I set up a work PC to host it from my home, but without those mods the lag/desync issue was the same, modded and unmodded

If the base owner has a ward running and it's notification is turned on, that would work. You might need the BetterWards mod or the WardIsLove mod to get that. I'm not sure the vanilla mod will notify.

you mean the dvergr lantern? they are set to cull at 10%, normal walls and things cull at 3%, so yes they will vanish before the wall vanishes the further you get away.

Use thunderstore. Nexus doesn't work well for Valheim.
Head over to thunderstore.io and check out their modpaks there. Some of them are for private servers but the other ones are great for solo game.
Try this one if you want something a little different. But it's not 'easy' and you'll need to give it some extra time to load up the first time you run it. Be sure to use it on a new world.

Easiest way to install any mod is to go to thunderstore.io and get their r2modman. It's free and makes mods really quick and easy to install and manage.

Unless your EpicLoot mod comes with custom cfg and/or yml thingys. Those need to go in the config folder.

You've got an old out of date mod in there.
Jotunn is really a library of scripts and coding shortcuts for modders. You don't need it by itself but some of your other mods won't work without it.

Well, one of them is definitely broken. So you still have to find that one and remove it. You can disable them in groups for testing to make it quicker. I know it's frustrating. Been there... π

No, some error msgs just are too generic and don't let you know what mod it is. That's why using r2modman to test in groups instead of one at a time is so much better than manual. Doesn't mean it's easy, though.

What is a good mod to reset burial chambers? I know abot the one called Venture_Location_Reset, but it says it does not reset sky locations, which are what burial chambers are. I would like for it to restock the loot

It does reset them unless you're using dungeon splitter. In that case you should use Jere's resetting mod (upgrade world) since it works server side
Question about server characters mod
does it need installed on a fresh start, or will it be a problem to add it to a dedicated server once its already started?
It's easiest if added to a "fresh start" but if you add it, allow all players to join without restrictions, then turn on the enforcement for items and what not, it should create a save with peoples current stuff.
idk, there is something like that where you can turn off the enforcement to create the saves for people then after they have a save turn it back on
The problem with mods on Xbox isn't so much with whether they're supported or not. It's with the design of the Xbox console and it's limitations as to physically installing the mods. With the current Xbox design, there's simply no way to get a mod onto the game with an Xbox.

Some mods take a few days longer to update for whatever reason. The mod authors usually have full time jobs elsewhere and families to deal with. So, yeah, just gotta wait.

Do an easy search for 'magic' over at thunderstore.io and check the ones that come up there. Choose one that's had a recent update.

In a case like that, you could get the mod loaded into r2modman all by itself and then test the game before loading any other mods. That way you can easily find and correct any problems it creates. And continue to be suspicious of that mod in the future in case of problems cropping up later. Loading in a mod like that along with other mods makes trouble shooting a lot harder.

PlantEverything shows plant growth. The display of which can be customized in the [UI] category of the mod config.

There are no known issues with PlantEverything nor are there any known conflicts. The only thing that can be affecting it is a broken mod.
Which is why you should always play vanilla before modding...

I think Azu has all except for planting, for that I'd use either Advize's mods and or FarmGrid by Venture.
Up to date are those with Bog Witch tag on thunderstore and some others that are not tagged but updated after the Bog Witch.

Upgrade World can do locations or world resources, and paired with CronJobs you can automate a dedicated server to running the commands for you.
If you just want locations then Venture Location Reset can do that for you without a lot of setup.
basically all the dungeons including morgen holes, fortress ideally as well and crypts tombs etc and also copper nodes and tin and silver
Depends on how you want to set up, but Upgrade World is how you reset any world resources, like copper. Venture is good for locations, minimal setup compared writing automated location resets with Upgrade World.
You'll likely want both, and then learn CronJobs to do a whole world reset on a schedule.
thanks writing that down, dont mind actually just running upgrade world manually instead of scheduled but you're right maybe automating that is a great idea even if its only monthly, we intend that build server to be up for like 2 years or so

Currently having a half-timed (up to moder no mods, but recently got lots of to make my friend interested again) playthrough with unbalances foods from Valharvest, epic loot and insanely difficult mobs (2* lox one-shotting you in a 117 defense gear with blunt/slash damage reduction while having all sorts of defensive potions).
Basics: Epic loot Wizardy Heightmap Extra slots Skills give carry weight Harpoon fishing Simple meads And the rest is QoL.
I need and advice on a modpack, 30-40 mods in total, not much more or less, to give my friend a particular reason to not feel as if he is constantly falling behind me in stuff, that he can get something to pick and be the cook at it. (I play more than him on our world and it makes him sad, feeling useless for the playthrough).
He is a fan of blood magic, hard fights, but not exactly unfair (you can have op gear, but if a lox can oneshot you in a 13 level silver gear - its strange and unplayable) My friend also a fan of building and cooking. I myself like to adventure, crawl into dungeons and come back home with dozens of chests worth of loot.
Any advice?
Venture can do the locations for you, cfg to change when you want it to happen based on days in-game.
UW/CJ you can set it to IRL time. Like my world reset is set for Sunday 3am, with lowest activity during those hours.
I use both.

'zones_reset' will destroy the whole world (minus SafeZones) and reset all resources and locations.

Yes, but not all pieces count, like floors, roof, walls; it's pieces like workbenches, wards, fires. And default is a 3x radius from that piece (e.g. workbench is 20m, protects 60m).

you kind of pointed out the problem yourself. you play more than he does and progress while they are offline. i dont think mods is the solution here. you could maybe get those mods that add skills to building and farming for your friend, but that's a band-aid fix. the way i would handle this situation is to either:
- wait for them to play or
- have your own world to play to your heart's content
I know. I have one for myself on harder dificulty. I just want to make him a modpack so we can play on that (like a vanilla minecraft vs modded)
While troubleshooting Valheim RAFT issues, are there any other working vehicle mods, be it airships or watercraft or land craft, that work AND can be built upon?
not really, the problem is moving pieces that aren't normally intended to move is usually a huge hit to performance, so a simple idea like making a moving platform able to be built on becomes a whole network code project just so you dont crash the game.
i mean sure there is airship and ship mods, but building stuff on them isn't typically possible.

I've heard good words about Jewelheim modpacks. It's about configs that balance those mods. Other than that it's a DIY thing mostly, it's not difficult to make one by yourself.

If you can't find a way to remove snowstorms, ParticleControl by coemt is a great way at giving control to reducing particle effects (i.e. snow, rain) for slower PCs.

im planning to have a scheduled restart on my server, so might as well have a auto-save at X time before scheduled restart.
You can set the save interval with the server startup commands. The server should also save when shutting down unless it's shut down improperly

If you are using a hosting provider then it's up to how they have it setup. You would need to pass a launch parameter
If you have the dedicated server downloaded through steam there is a PDF in that directory that has all the info
the default is -saveinterval 1800 which is every 30 minutes
CronJob, you have to write it yourself tho.
