Both options are solid, but silver sword deals highest damage due to higher spirit damage.

Whichever you have higher skill level use the higher option.

As long as not getting hit or using shield to block the slight weaknesses don't matter that much, they matter only if you take direct hits.

It affects to all weapons that deal that damage type.

Atgeirs, spears, bows, knives, Porcupine.

Also, if the slight weaknesses worry you, then replacing one piece with any other takes away the weaknesses (plus also bonuses), like using heavy armor helmet. That way you have moderately good armor rate and no movement speed penalty.

Hi, i'm sorry to bother but this issue has been getting me and my girlfriend so frustrated lately:
I'm getting disconnected so often, and sadly i tried almost everything in my powers to avoid the disconnection issue.
Yet, i get disconnected when she hosts the server, and when i host the server she gets disconnected.
How can we solve this issue?

The hammers are part of the club skill, and are very useful in combat. Picks can be used, but are not meant for combat.

I have a wifi connection but we've been playing together for 200+ hours without any issue, i can't understand why it started creating this issue all of sudden. My internet bandwidth is proper even if its not high, and i can even stream on discord and play other games together without issues. So i can't understand, really.

I've even tried connecting to her server by using MAIUSC+TAB on Steam and joining her lobby in that way.

Solved the issue, removed the crossplay when starting the server and joined via Steam, this seems like being the only way for connecting. Valheim has serious issues about this.

Its always been how my wife and I connect. Neither of us use a console to play. So cross play has never been needed.

Having a nice outline of the node made by the snow underneath is a good indicator. Plus mine every bit of stone out of the area outlined. The only time I have trouble with stone from the sides is when rock was embedded in the node in the first place.

You can eat up to 3 different foods, if you find some red mushrooms, mark them on the map along with the berries so you can come back and forage again after a few in game days to keep a stockpile of them. As you progress you'll be able to make substantially better foods for much higher hp and stamina.

Foods will become very important starting in the next biome

Also starting out there are 3 categories of foods, health, stamina, and balanced. Kill a boar and cook it's meat over a fire and you'll get a hp food (higher health, lower stamina), raspberries are stamina foods and red mushrooms are balanced (equal hp and stam)

The higher your stamina the more activities (dodge attack etc) you can do, and more hp equals more tank

Pick literally anything else to shoot at them, unless you want to level elemental magic.

Even then, I'd recommend trapping a golem in a hole and shooting him instead.

It levels from your feet, if that helps. So where your standing is really important.

Sometimes you'll run into dips or bumps that you'll have to either fill in with the hoe or pick down and then reflatten those spots. As well there is a limitation to how high or low you can terraform that ground.

Right. It fills in some creveces, but not other. Flattens some humps, but not others. Sometimes flattens to the level of my feet, but sometimes not.

Like i said use the hoe to fill in the dips then reflatten, the hoe has more than just the level ground function. If you find a bump, hit it with the pickaxe, and then use the level ground function again on that spot.
If the ground isn't leveling up to the height you want, as well you'll have to use the raise ground function of the hoe and then switch back to leveling after you've raised the ground up.

Yes but it's a bit convoluted and cheesy.|| You can put down a workbench outside the area of the ward and build a cart. Then smash the cart against the ward repeatedly to break it.||

You can also attempt to kite enemies in to break it for you, although the dverger will obviously try to kill them. Seeker soldiers are great for this. stand on the ward and jump when they headbut you.

Or have them killed by attracting things to do it.

I recommend pushing all fire mages outside of the tower before you do that, though.

The magic of Valheim (and other sandbox games) is that you can do anything you want, and you don't necessarily need to only progress through the main game line.

I enjoy building outpost bases in every biome. My plains one is a stone castle, my swamp one is a good old wood tree house, and my mist and mountain one is rock and black marble bits

If you can get it as soon as possible, the root harnesk is really good as it's peirce resistant. You will need to kill some abominations tho, I recommend fire arrows and campfires. If you stand on top of a crypt or a invincible root they can't hit you

If you want bronze leggings might give you extra protection. But any leggings are okay. If you can do the full root armor go for that

For entering swamp I'd go with either full bear or bear chest/legs and bronze helmet

But bear armor is weak to peirce and slash. If you're expieranced, then sure, anything will work but if it's their first time in the swamp bear armor is not gonna help then. They'll be vulnerable to everything in the swamp

I like Troll armor when first entering plains, you can stealth away a bit easier if you aren't looking to fight right away.

I mean it's technically personal preference. Iron armor is good protection, but it's pretty heavy. The root armor will help you out later in Plains but by then you could also have silver/wolf armor. So if you want to tank, iron armor is alright, but if you do a bit of everything a combo of say iron greaves, helmet, and root chest might be okay? I kind of skipped iron and wolf armor in my run and just kept root for a while but it's up to you!

Hey all, does anyone know about ZDO issues? We are having an issue where one person SUDDENLY despite having good internet, has a really low "sent" amount of ZDO, and it flatlines and refuses to let him play.

Hey me and my friend made the main base on a small island between two larger meadow islands, it takes like 1min of boat time to get to any bigger island and we have placed crafting stations, campfires and buildings there and yet there are still greylings, deers and boars spawning on the island.
They actually stopped spawning on the island once we covered the whole island with stone, encased it and build walls around it but now they are just spawning outside the walls and we wanted to build a port or a dock for the ships but when we have even a small opening, greylings and other meadows creatures get inside via that small opening.
We believe because the mobs have nowhere to spawn they just kinda spawn anywhere they can (which is outside into the water of our island) even if there are campfires and workstations everywhere.
Does anyone knows how to fix the creatures from spawning at all and let us have a peaceful life on a little island. Because normally workstations should prevents spawns but maybe its a bug idk?

I've always ran into that problem with their spawning in the water. Apparently, best as I ever figured out, the water has to be too deep for them to spawn in order to stop them.

But unfortunately, after not making it work, i messed up with the world save file and accidentally deleted it 😢
I know it was stupid, for sure, and i managed to restore the backup file (<worldName>_backup_auto-20260306200718) with a recovery soft but now it's still not loading.
I don't know the reason so i reeeeeally need an advise - whom can i ask for a help to check what is wrong with my save and why it's not loading?

So, my husband has hosted Valheim server(s) before via Nitrado. We're fixing for some Valheim things again, we've paid for a 30-day nitrado dedicated server, it's up and running (according to Nitrado) - and apparently has been for well over 2 hours BUT.... neither of us can find it. Not sure if this is the right place to go but community help has ALWAYS been better than google 🩷

So, we've done the typical google search, we've tried the standard - verify this, verify that - but we still cannot find it. We cannot direct join via IP (gives us a fail to connect notif.)
I tried a quick search here to see if there's any current issues/outages relevant and couldn't find anything immediately. So, any tips would be greatly appreciated 🩷

Just go around gathering materials from the ground, chop down trees and forage/ hunt for food. Once you can gather enough wood you can put down a workbench and make a small shack or something to put a bed and fire and cooking racks to cook meat from deer and boar. Use the gathered materials to make armor and better weapons than a torch and upgrades for your workbench.

It is a lot easier with friends since yall can work together to get a base going, gather mats, etc BUT..... yes, early game, getting deers is probably the most tedious for the first step into progression. Bow + Sneaky(crouch, keep watch on that eyeball icon and kill dem before u get too close spook it) will make your life WAY easier starting out.

it is possible too with uhhhhh what is it, sneaky + hunting knife? I had one seed where getting a bow was so silly but getting a hunting knife was ezpz so i just crouch, sneaky, pokey on deers

One way could be trying to get the serpent near shores, so other mobs started to fight it.

Wood walls will erode to half hp if left uncovered, putting a roof over the top of them will stop that. And later down the line you'll be able to build stone walls and such that will be immune to the eroding effect from rain

Most of the feasts suck, mistlamds one finally gives enough raw stats to be worth it.

I'm having some serious issues with monsters being utterly invulnerable. bonemass wont take damage from anything, I've looked at countless guides telling you how to easily fight him by standing in certain areas with specific weapons and using certain meads. But he will NOT take damage. This is not the only time I've had issues with this. It occurs with greydwarfs to stone golems and it's very arbitrary as to when it happens. I can be hosting a server for me and my peers or playing the same save file solo. My wolves and other tames are also REALLY janky in that they WILL NOT stop following me and walking through walls frequently to escape their pens. I dont want to have to start a new world after 600 days and struggling along for as long as I have so any input would be really great, thank you.

It's my first playthrough - so I am trying to keep it vanilla as much as I can.

I admit I had to use the console once to fly out of somewhere I got pinned in, but aside from that it's been clean sailing apart from losing my gravestones (they dont appear always when I die and I lose all I had on me) or things in the water chasing me across the ocean throwing stones at my Karve - and now this nonsense with wolves going through or over walls and refusing to not follow me, and invulnerable things appearing all the time...

Valheim isnt like minecraft where the danger level of a chunk increases as more time is spent in it, right?

Danger is determined by the 'biome' you're in. The more dangerous biomes cannot spawn too close to the spawn.

if you want to play it safe, make portals and beds so you can respawn closer to new zones. That's what has worked for me usually.

The danger level increases? I guess if you stay in an area it gives more time for mobs to spawn, in Valheim or Minecraft

As you progress and kill bosses though, more dangerous mobs may start spawning especially at night, even though you're not in that mobs biome. That's a minor change tho

Usually related to playing over VPN and using crossplay on the server. If you are all on Steam, tell the server owner to disable crossplay.

I think there a mods to copy buildings but it can be messy on new terrain. If you generate a world with the same seed hash you could probably closely replicate something’s but not perfectly. What’s messed up in the world generation?

So me and a friend were sailing on a boat towards south. Then a Sea Serpent started attacking us. 30 seconds Later our Game started to run at 1 fps while on the boat. When finally making it ashore and he jumped off the boat his fps went back to normal. Mine stayed at 1.... Then i portaled away and it stopped. Now i always have 1 Fps when going to that certain location... I restarted the dedicated server already...

Probably mod related. Do you have Floating items mod? If so, remove it.

This issue can't occur when playing single player offline, or while playing alone while hosting a server via in-game options.
There is a difference when playing alone on a dedicated server.
If the issue happened while you are in the new area on your dedicated server, and you were playing alone, then either the server or you have network related issues.

Your save got messed up. Your current .fwl file doesn't match your .db file.
You will have to stop the server. Access server files via FileZila or similar FPT tool, and restore a backup with matching .fwl and .db file.
Find worldname_auto-backup_timestamp.db and worldname_auto-backup_timestamp.fwl that have matching timestamps and rename them both into worldname.db and worldname.fwl. Then start the server. Choose those with latest timestamp prior to issue happening.
To avoid the issue happening again, be careful how you stop the server. This usually happens when improperly shutting down the server, and cutting world saving process mid progress that executes on server shutdown.

Hello im having trouble finding whats causing all of the forsaken trophies to already be hung and there powers avaliable when i create a new character. I am running a few mods but ive never had that on any of my other modded runs. Any help would be great

Why no shelter? You can build a pretty quick and simple shelter to get out of the rain and have a burning camp fire.

Think of the old phone booths. Just with roofing.

Just put the fire on an outside wall, with roofing.

Expand it a little, and you can even put a bed down.

Just pick axe a quick hole big enough for a bed and a fire, and hop in with a few roof pieces over the top.

If by any chance you want that for using commands to spawn things or fly then sadly that is not possible on dedicated servers as only host can use those, regardless if you are on admin list or not.

Nowadays I like using HSF diet after getting mountain/seafarer feast.

50 min duration and balanced stats, plus saves inventory slots from food items per feast used.

Also Mistlands and Ashlands feasts grant also some eitr on top of the HP and stamina stats.

yess, Yag vegvisir stones are the rarest in game so far, usually you run into the altar before even finding a single vegvivir ||(they're huge and very peculiar looking, so you'll see it from quite afar)||, more than once i found it just sailing next to shore but Plain patches can be huge, so stopping and have a quick run around is adviceable imo

I'm running the game through steam and hitting start server - not using the seperate program for a dedicated server. The game pauses when I hit escape when I'm playing alone. Should I still be able to experience networking issues like this when I'm playing in that fashion??

And is there a way to run console commands on other players in my server? like giving them raiseskills or godmode?

No, this can't occur when you are playing alone in that fashion. Or more precisely no report of it ever ocurring. The moment you launch as server and someone joins, this can happen, and remain as issue even after they leave, until you restart the server.

lol wellp. good thing i didn't put the cart on the boat because valheim indeed did the thing. massive storm happened immediately. and i was like "i don't need all my spears i'll just bring my new bark spear". also started sailign with a 2/3 durability boat. it was an epic fight that ended with me whiffing a spear throw sending the spear to the bottom of the ocean which makes it not float up for a long time so i had no range and my boat was 1 hp left, so i leapt out of the boat at its face as it approached and it ate me XD neverbow is good if you arent a dumby and dont bring multiple spears on the boat...

The arrow is gonna sink as it flies it's not a straight shot. If you're shooting close range it should be fine, but for any great distance aim a little above the target

Just run around and kill what you see. You never know what will spawn as their replacement.

Also, I have spent many hours gettng used to accounting for the drop on arrows. Its just like in real life, and what you will have to do no matter how good the bow is.

To the point where when I was playing on servers I often got called Robin Hood.

Trolls show up in the forest occasionally. Especially if you're mining or making noise. But for me, I'd rather fight a troll then a bear at the start 😂
