The Sunken Elder

Ultimate misadventure today. I found Hildir and was a bit excited, little did I know it's actually the lady vendor and not the gnome dude and she sells only useless stuff. On top of that, for some reason she decided to camp exactly on the border between a nice little Draugr village and Plains. For some reason I thought it was a good idea to leave my portal unprotected and venture into the Draugr village. And ofc I got killed inside one of their houses by a 3-star Draugr Elite. Then ofc my portal back at home is disconnected, so I had to do a bunch of stuff to get a minimal noob gear and a new karve and sail back there and somehow reclaim my stuff. Now as soon as I frickin' dock my boat a big bunch of greydwarves try to lynch me, including a shaman and a 2-star brute. As soon as I managed to take care of the bastards, the stupid ground is shaking and my spot is being attacked by a gang of big blue mfs. Barely managed to sail outta there alive. Now floating around like an idiot waiting for them to get bored.

Wow! What an absolutely epic moment. My first swamp boss raid hit suddenly, and right in the middle of the chaos I was ambushed. Draugr archers closed in, and as I tried to flee, I heard a roar. A bear had charged in and was fighting the undead horde. Watching that bear clash with them while I battled my own enemies was incredible, almost like fighting side by side as brothers.

Another reason why more creatures like the bear should be tameable. 🫂

there are two different raids with that exact name, one is before bonemass, the other after. the one before is skellies and draugr, the one after is blobs. i can't see any enemies in the fog (except maybe a blob near the top of the screen) so i can't tell for sure which of the two that is 😅

I discovered that the edges of the roof have something to do with the damage caused by rain. If I place the support in the center of the roof, it doesn't protect anything underneath, even though it completely covers the entire building.

After my lucky Bonemass find earlier while sailing, the Valheim gods get their revenge with this Moder spawn after I found the Moder boss stone

finally hit 1000 iron scraps with this load. no map, no portals and hardcore. 1 death in black forest, but a much stronger start from that point on. i think its time i hunt down bonemass for his power and some bow training. This is absolutely the best way to play the game

Guys wanna share a story here in case anybody can help me. So, I chasing a shipwreck and the place is unstable cause wave keep moving on the land, so I died 3 times trying to recover my corpse there because of a bear then, the 3rd times I died, omg a Troll spawned there. Why I cant recover easily? Because the place is somewhat remote and I need to swim to recover, while bear is around my corpse now also a troll. I asking help for however can help tomorrow 🙂

Not the most exciting screenshot, but this is a pretty lucky find. Just downed Bonemass and was sailing for Mountain and saw this pillar off the coast and decided to stop in to investigate and lo and behold, Yagluth's boss stone!

Now this is a more exciting screenshot, you can really see the World Tree, Yggdrasil from the top of this really really really high mountain, i'm at the very top of this really tall mountain, and it almost feels like you can build something that will get you there.

The Mistlands biome really surprised me with the huge amount of new content it unlocks — weapons, armor, and magic, which I absolutely love. That’s probably why I like this biome so much. The way it connects with everything that came before is fascinating to me, and the views are incredible, especially with the giant’s horns sounding in the background.

First day of solo asksvin run. The plan is for Loxboy (since there are no cows) to face all bosses with his trusty mount. The seed is Asksvin, and this food is all I brought from my other world, alongside the saddle and egg. If I lose my mount, I'm probably going to use devcommands to spawn another egg. If I can't beat a boss, I'll probably spawn an egg with a higher star.

First night went peacefully. I want every base I build to have a space for my mount, but for this first one next to Eikhtyr, we will share the space.
The next day will be spent waiting for my sole weapon to hatch. I already got a skill point in fists and axes because of greylings bothering my woodcutting, and I don't want to get any more, so I need patience.

Days 2, 3 and 4. I magically found a serving tray (why shouldn't I be able to craft this in the meadows?) to help Moiran pick her favourite food.
Once the time came, I discovered the gate was too small for her to go through. Good to know for future homes.

We need 2 deer trophies for Eikthyr.
I'll post about how our first hunting expedition went later. There were some... surprises.

Boars and necks were easy enough to kill, although my mount would take an uneasy amount of damage if they surrounded her.
Deer were... problematic. I tried to let Moiran chase them on her own, which almost worked a few times if she didn't get stuck on trees or distracted by something else. But it seemed easiest to sprint behind a deer and press backwards to stop and hope she does a quick melee attack. The pounce attack never hit a deer, although it only barely missed once. Maybe if the ground was more even.

One deer ran away to the sea, and I made the mistake of dismounting, leaving Moiran to swim after it. I had to scramble together some more wood for a raft and chase after them. I saw her eventually get the kill, but if there was a trophy, it must have sunk. Moiran did eventually hunt me 2.

I crafted a tower shield with a pattern I've never used before, but it was closest to the asksvin in style.

Eikthyr stood no chance. The asksvin had more health and did more damage.

I redesigned the fireplace so Moiran would stop stepping into it, and we rested.
A saddle, rags and no weapons. Black forest, here we come.

Adventures of Loxboy continue! Bears and trolls gave Moiran some bruises that took a while to heal, even with Loxboy tanking a hit with his life, but we managed it.

The bronze age is here! I will finally make a bow, since I need to fight by myself in dungeons. Plus I might need to eventually down some drakes or birds.

Adventures of Loxboy continue! We have a new Asksvin now, Avalia... don't ask what happened to the old one. (Somehow lost to a troll even though we've beaten them before. My poor girl just wasn't attacking properly. Wasn't even a 1 star troll).

Elder is the next boss on the menu, and we have our first portal there. Haven't found any swamp or mountains yet, so I should probably do more exploring. Especially since healing the asksvin takes so long.

Is it possible to beat the Elder with just an Asksvin? Maybe, but not if they get surrounded by roots. I didn't manage to draw aggro, and I was hesitant to interfere at first because I thought I wouldn't be needed.
Avalia died. I finished the job since the Elder was at less than 10% hp. If I was more brave, I could have ran through the roots and hopped on to get her out of there, but then I would have had to save us both from the ranged attack that would follow. Not sure how it would have gone.
I buried Avalia (threw the loot) into the ocean.

We have a new Asksvin. A 1 star this time, because we are already losing to 1 star trolls and bears. I don't know if the healing from food gets any better, but if it does, that's also a good enough reason for me to upgrade.

My starting continent does not seem to have swamp. So you know what that means... Asksvin on a karve!
