It automatically snap itself in the middle of floor pieces like on your screen, that's what fit best if you want to add things onto it. I wouldn't manually place things that aren't on any snap point if you are just starting to figure out the system

how can i farm feathers?

Cut down trees and shot down the birds when it's night and / or a storm and / or raining.
They're usually sitting at the ground at that point.
And wooden arrows because those are the only ones not using feathers.

Another option is to explore a lot in the meadows and black forest and loot them - as well as flint arrows - from each and every chest you find.

Over time you will be able to harvest them from a "pet" in the 6th biome.

Like you said yourself, part of it has ground support. Remove that staircase and that wall piece and see if it collapse then.

Remove the workbench / stone cutter from underneath and see if it collapse after that.

It has nothing to do with touching the ground.

It has something to do with "touching" the hitbox at some point, just like how it works with the copper nodes.
There need to be at least 2 meters distance between the ground and the object(s) before it collapses.
If there isn't because of the hitboxes being a PitA occasionally, things won't collapse.
So either remove those two pieces or dig a hole under it to make sure there's more than 2 meters between them and see if it collapses after that.

Well, something is touching it.
So either build a scaffold and remove that bottom part or cut down any trees / bushes nearby, or use dev-commands to fly and destroy that bottom part so it falls down. Although with the latter you might as well use your middle mouse button to demolish it all.

If you were able to build it, you should be able to demolish it.

Use spawn suppressing items like camp fires to make sure they won't come back.
Also: destroy the spawning stones of the charred with a pickaxe - or fire ball - so they won't respawn.

But the intented method is to go there after killing the queen so unless you like risking your experience, I’d advice you kill the queen first

Yeah, but there is not really any faster way without using commands, you can also make greydwarf farm but i dont believe that is much faster, it is more sustainable tho

If you destroy any stone structure that is naturally generated you will get its resources. Not as many as if you built it yourself but still quite a lot

Depends on what you have already located in your world.

1. In long term you can dig a hole around greydwarf spawner and farm them
2. If you know location of many nearby stone structures, you can dismantle them via stonecutter (and everytime just teleport the stone home, move to another structure and so on)

That way you get the structural strength from two places at the same time.

With krom you really want to make sure you are rested, you make the hits counts and parrying before hitting enemies will help a ton to get rid of enemies faster

Just using Krom might be challenging, you'd like to have some AoE weapons like Himminafl or Demolisher if going melee.

Hi everyone!! Question! I'm getting ready to go into the Swamp biome and I'd like to know what the best weapons are for it. I currently have a bronze sword and banded shield and a finewood bow at lvl 4..
I've done a little research online to see what is best against the dragurs but I'm not finding anything super definitive other than people say to pick them off with a bow from a distance. but I'm more of a close combat kind of fighter.. so what shield/sword are best?

Any melee weapon will work well for draugr. Skeletons and blobs are weak to blunt but their health is so low that anything is good enough. Slash damage is good for abominations.

For: It will give you easier access to the chest with that important piece needed for the sap extractor.
Against: they may be a pain in the butt to kill. And you may need their assistance later if / when a monster attack you, as they're basically neutral to you, but hostile to all the other monsters.

You can cheese things, though.
One is to build a workbench and a cart nearby, take the cart and use it to demolish the chest; then pick up that item.
The other one is to lure a seeker in there and let that destroy the chest and / or the Dvergr so you can loot the contents of the chest.

if you're holding a shield/buckler, it won't care at all about the weapon's block armor and parry bonus, so only the 30 block armor of the shield matter. even if the shield's block armor is lower than the weapon's, it'll still be the shield's that's taken.

Not for boars, the only requirement for those to have stars is to be further than 800m from centre of the map 🙂 for wolfs however the starred variants spawn only at night

You can also find stared boars around certain runestones and in abandoned villages, but those are one time spawns only

But yeah, boars don't go to that category.

Your best bet for a 2 star is to find a bore rune stone and make sure your away from your spawn area like another island. Kill all the boars in the area and all other animals. This will increase the chance of a 1 or 2 star boars to spawn. It will take a while but it can happen eventually.

Atgeir is 2 handed, has longer reach and strong secondary attack for crowd control and staggering. Spear is 1 handed so you can use shield with it, has somewhat short range (sadly) but fast 1 attack combo pattern and secondary attack is throw which deals more damage than primary hit. So it really depends on your preference, both are devastating against trolls at least.

I just did a royal mess-up on a friends server, we just managed to secure a first foothold on the ashlands shore in one of the ruin towers just off the shoreline, put up a portal, shield, basic roofing and went back to end the session. A few hours later i had the brilliant idea to log back in and replace the hastily constructed thatch roof with graustein just in case our shield runs out. In itself probably a sound idea. Problem is, by replacing the roof i caught the attention of a Morgen that started to spin-dash against the towers foundational walls. I mitigated by immideately jumping back through the portal to unload the chunk. But here is my question now: Since the wiki says Morgen deals pickaxe damage, can it also break through dirt walls, or is it like the seeker soldiers attacks?

We had our fair share of blobs already, luckily we could lure them a bit away to detonate safely out of range. My idea was to hopefully pile up a dirt wall to replace the damaged foundations if the water isn't too deep. Glad to be affirmed that would prevent further damage from Boney the Hedgehog, thanks. ^^'

Oh, just out of my own curiosity as our groups navigator: is there a trick to establishing a foothold in the ashlands, or does it always have to feel like d-day? (We have fully upgraded our gear after the queen, but feel woefully underprepared since it took us two hours and three attempts to even secure a temporary location to put down a portal)

One advice, you dont need to fight everything you see, just running is enough to keep most stuff of your back until they decide to ignore you. If you will stay and fight it is very likely that before you finish another group of enemies will find you and fighting starts again, so learn to ignore enemies and explore away 🙂

I've established a rather successful base in the ashlands.... What I did is find one of those ruined towers on Ashlands Ground, made sure I wasn't aggro'd by any enemies, and ran up it's stairs near the top to then build a floor across the small gap, and place a Portal with a chest or two. I got to the point where I was comfortable enough to run down and slowly but surely build a grausten stone floor plate and then walls. I lined it with the Ashwood spikes and got a shield generator as the fire demolishes anything that isn't like stone in hardness. After that, I eventually lined the bubble just inside of it using more ashwood spikes (With the tips just reaching the edge of the shield bubble). At that point, I barely ever get aggro'd by enemies anymore as they can't see me through the distance, my shield, and passed the ashwood spikes.

I didn’t try it with Eikthyr power I used bonemass and got him down to 33% hp in that 5 min power window

I imagine with berserker mead you could probably kill him in one cycle of bonemass

25k health and he will heal 1/12 of that regen in 5 mins that’s ~27k health to go through and thunder berserker axes have a dps of around 300-350 your best case scenario is killing him in under 2 mins not accounting for dodging his attacks and stamina

I like to think padded armor is the ‘checkpoint’ of armor- it’s pretty easy to make so if you ever find yourself completely without armor or materials for one reason or another, you can pretty easily craft a set without too much investment.

agreed, the entire swamp biome was a huge pain, we ended up using console commands to smooth it out

i did this every time we entered a swamp dungeon, and it greatly reduces the tedium of grinding so much iron

Limited? Unless you're using a Raft there should be plenty. Don't forget you can sail encumbered.

Even still, having to make multiple trips is more tedious than clearing out all the crypts in a swamp imo, at least there's an element of exploration present there, and isn't just a long sailing journey. I usually do sail encumbered and with a full boat storage, but one trip of iron is usually just enough for initial iron armor/weaponry/upgrades/stations. Anything beyond that will require more.

I read over the Terms and Conditions, and while there's nothing directly against using editing programs, there is some language in here describing submissions as screenshots, which could infer it should be a screenshot only and not an edited image. It also describes that the screenshot can be used as promotional material, and it's a safe assumption that they would want to advertise the vanilla scenic/action shots available in Valheim, though that's just my opinion of course.

they are hard to find, explore more and further and wider... or use #mods-discussion to increase mistlight radius so you can see better. Another trick is this, but it might be too late for it, if you don't talk to the bird when you are at the remains, the bird will appear if you are nearby a new one, and you might then look for it there and find it after the bird pops up 🙂

What app did you use to setup the hotkey? If you can adjust the timings for the macro, you should play around delays.

Vanilla issues can be related to you connecting to previous server entries in your favorites list, so delete any server you might have there and add a new one via new join code. Join codes can be seen by the host in the pause menu after then start their world as a host with crossplay enabled. If you use VPN, you should know that they can be incompatible with certain VPN protocols and NAT restrictions, so if you are both using Steam, you can try disabling crossplay as well and joining via Steam invite. Don't use other tabs in join servers section, and use only favourites tab.

Soooooo Im having issues with my friend joining my game, we are playing modded and neither of us can join each others world. We tried vannila and I was able to join their friend once but nothing was loaded when I did and we couldn't see each other. They then tried to join my vannila world and kept getting 'failed to connect' - we both have the same version and everything is updated and verfified. Another friend of mine was able to join my modded world and my vanilla world.. so we are thinking the issue is with the first friends game.

I always have difficult defeating the second boss. Me and my friends normally just run away shooting flame arrows, dying and teleporting back. Any other advice on what to do or it just be like that?

I normally use melee weapons. Any bronze weapon will work well
Make sure you're only using food cooked at a cauldron and have level 3 armor

Normally 50-60, but in meadows and black forest(I have not yet progressed past black forest) sometimes it just drops to 10-20 just for running around. I treid with different weapons equipped, but it doesnt seem to be tied to my equipment.

Hiding behind trees, rocks and the pillars helps.
Dodgerolling and parrying the attacks you can't avoid to minimize the dmg you take can also help.
Don't be to eager, slow and methodical, rather have a swing less or a shot less but being able to get to safety than making that attack and getting hit.

If you plan to sail to the Ashlands, it's best to set up a temporary base at the southern most point of nearby Mistlands. Sail there with a longboat with the materials for the Drakar, a portal and a workbench, build the Drakar and sail to the Ashlands from that base.
It'll make the journey a lot shorter, easier and in case something goes wrong you got a good starting point for a body recovery trip.

Well, with two players, both using Moder power when they command the boat things will be a little bit faster.

But when you're in a hurry to get somewhere in this game, you might too often run into problems.
It's - imho - better to slow down a bit and make sure you're (over) prepared, since Ashlands is a very unforgiving area. Especially when entering it the first time.

There's a reason I compare it to the landing at the Tarawa Atoll.

its not about being in a hurry really, we just want the feeling of progression and advancement, drakkar being slower is annoying because it makes us doubt upgrading

also, because its far more stable and less prone to rocking, it FEELS far slower than it is, its a tame and boring ride by comparison ;-;

There's less than 0.5m/s in it at full sail. You get the advancement as its the only proper way to reach Ashlands.

Depends. Both have their own upsides.

Mistwalker slows due to frost damage, plus has some additional spirit damage which is effective in Ashlands.

Nidhögg has higher physical damage so it staggers enemies better, plus enchanting with gems is only possible for flametal weapons so you have more variable options.

Enchanting is good idea. Iolite will fit the best for dealing damage and jade for crowd control. Bloodstone is.. more challenging to be more effective.

gotta practise parrying morgens they were easy to deal with once you can parry theyr patterns and always having lingering stamina mead helps a lot

I do parry them most of the time, I'd say 8/10 hits
still, missing one parry is deadly to me

having light armor/fast weapons all my gameplay, I always ran food with s-s-h

if I go s-h-h I lose all the extra stamina required for properly parrying and moving around a morgen, not to mention in case I have to run away if other mobs start tagging along...

at the same time, running s-s-h even in full asksvin armor, it's still a 2 hit from a morgen

Jumping is very effective against morgens, their swipe attack only reaches 2.4m up

You have to be careful of their legs though because someone thought it would be a good idea to give them separate colliders

Because the character is saved separately from the world, you can go to a new world with endgame character and it will keep all your things, levels and like in this case the Forsaken power 🙂

With Mistwalker you are able to keep Morgen in place by going/sprinting around it in circle and hitting from time to time to slow its movement.

Himminafl is also effective against it. The weakness to lightning balances the resistance to physical damage, plus lightning damage is also added to stagger.

generally yes.

But it depends how much you explored though. New content only appears in areas of the map you haven't explored. So for example if you visited all swamps in the world before bog witch update, bog witch will not spawn

been a while since I've seen talk of swords damage numbers in Ashlands, but from what I remember the general rule is that nidhogg, mistwalker, and silver sword have relatively similar damage in ashlands. Mistwalker is typically favored for the frost effect though, or if you really like some of the ||enchantments || maybe nidhogg

Marinated greens and sparkling shroomshake have the most eitr but you could do also well by replacing shroomshake with seeker aspic, I'd recommend having either stamina food or Mistlands feast for 3rd food option.
