According to pic you have attempted some times already. Usual having best upgraded gear, best foods and meads, having rested buff and Bonemass power ready add to her too, but some extra tips:

• As she summons seekers and broods during the fight, you might want to have some weapon(s) to deal AoE damage against her adds. Bilebombs, Demolisher, Himminafl and Ember staff are effective for that.
• You can have some breather spots inside the citadel, like some corners and the entrance she cannot fit. Also floating from top with Feather cape gives you some time to regain stamina/eitr/hp in dire situation.
• If you use Bonemass power with melee gear and heavy armor you can facetank her attacks some time while dealing damage, so standing between her and a wall helps counter her knockbacks.

Quite a lot, not sure exactly, but they end a tiny bit before the end of the animation

Little tip, it might be better to roll into the attack. The I-frames will save you, and since you're in their face you can retaliate

You can find the Queen's location by searching the Mistland Catacombs. Or, you might find right where she is. Look carefully at where the blue lights are installed. I also had a very hard time finding the location.

Don't forget to look for other fog areas to find it.

valheim-map.world, input your world seed and find all infested mines, also you only need 15 black cores in total so once you get them you don't need anymore

Thats valid, I use it to plot bases and large journeys due to time constraints.

You only need 4? mines on standard resource gain for everything providing theyre good ones. Finding them can be a pain though, they can unqiuely be right on coast lines which is cool.

They arent too difficult with bonemass, the biggest thing to worry about is the seeker soliders since theyre a pain indoors.

Easiest way to do that is to turn on console commands and use the fly command to fly under the water and you can use your tools that way, but it is cheating as pardon pointed out

Recently gotten back into Valheim, is it still possible to do that teleport trick where you go to a new location, set a new portal to say your home portal, then quickly rename the teleporter to the new location as you run through so that you can later add the new location to your teleport room at home? Haven't been able to get it to work at all. Not sure if my timing is just that bad now or if patched out

Mage playstyle is totally viable till the end game as you will get more staff options later. However, it would be a good idea to have at least one melee weapon for certain situations like keeping enemies away from you. I've seen many keeping Frostner for combined knockback and slow effect or Himminafl for secondary attack knockback and stagger.

It's up to you really. Protection staff with dead raiser for protected bros or being able to tank an extra hit is good

All staves has their uses. Protection staff is quite strong for mages, as the shield protects from all upcoming damage (except pure and falling damage), which allows you to use more eitr/stamina foods. Ember staff has good damage and AoE. Ice staff has good single target damage and slow effect. Dead raiser gives you minions to fight for you which also can be protected by shield.

EEF (2 eitr 1 feast) food combination could work, feast for balanced stamina and hp stats.

They are stronger than normal skeletons. Their damage increases with higher blood magic skill.

There is nothing wrong with asking, but one thing is certain: only you can define what playstyle suits you the best.

Hens don't need to be near fire to lay eggs, only fed, not alerted and near each other so they can mate. Eggs need shelter and warmth to hatch.

There are a number of reasons but if you have it in steam you can go to the game in steam and create a new shortcut and replace the old one.

Depends.
If there is still fuel and material that need to be processed in it, then yeah that is normal.
It means smoke is suffocating it, making it not work, then when the smoke dissipates enough it starts up again.
If there isn't fuel and such in it then that is some weird behavior and you might need to perform an exorcism and get the wraith out of it.

No there is a limit to how many eggs, chicks and hens there can be in a certain area for hens to lay new eggs.
If you trap the hens on a ledge so the eggs roll down and out of the area then they can lay eggs as long as they have food.

Build Iron gates (bars) around it, and 1 window for putting sap, and a iron door you open to pick up eitr and make sure u can place tissue at the top by making a ladder

Also make sure to close the door after you get the eitr so it doesn't shoot stuff when it's being made (or wait for it all to be done at once)

if a person wanted to carry an old character to a new progression server is it possible to reset the boss progression through the character files but leave the skill stats and recepies?

not sure if it helps at all, but make sure you can't see them. My base is huge, with my henhouse and asksvin pen. I usually have about 50 hens and 20 asksvin and my fps can drop to single digits.

I don't usually have both pens full at all times so I can manage closer to 40 fps most of the time.

Hi guys im playing solo and im trying to build a base on a black forest island bordering a swamp

now the problem is while its a small island that is entirely not swamp area

SOMEHOW
draugr and skeletons keep invading my island THROUGH THE WATER

like they WALK from the swamp mainland through the 50-100m to my island

and its not a horde but it never stops. Its like 2 draugr 3 skeletons

a minute later another 2 draugr and one of those jelly monsters
and again and again

they also destroy my workbenches that i place there, i assume they dont spawn in the workbench radius in the first place to be honest

anyways im rocking troll armor with a bronze helmet and im so far from my main base. So far ive been managing but i cant terraform the island in peace to build a base

im looking for someone who could maybe lend me a hand

The undead can walk under water 🙂 and workbench radius indeed prevents spawns but they are also atacked on sight, so you can use campfires to suppress spawns since the work even when not lit and are not attacked on sight. It might be a good idea to spawnproof the coast of the swamp thats closest to you

If you're concerned about survivability make sure that you're rested and well fed before going into the swamp itself. Spawn proofing that edge seems like the only viable option to prevent the enemies from entering your area, unless you build defenses surrounding the area you want to terraform first.

The markers will always show the one closest to your current location so I recommend going in a very different direction (I always view the map as quadrants) to find another one.

You're going to die, a lot, and often times in precarious positions that seems near impossible to defeat. You'll get better at it as you go and learn new techniques to defeat or avoid enemies on your way.

Afaik both increase with upgrade, but since poison doesn't stack the lingering vines are really only benefiting from the Blunt increase.

Hi guys, big fan of the game here. I noticed I built something in the ashlands pre-update and it seems to have dissapeared since the update. It was one small structure. I am concerned becuse I have built my home town in the deep north and wanted to make sure it wont dissapar in the new update. Anyone know?

You can do a hybrid build once you've unlocked staff of the wilds

I go with 1 health, 1 stamina, 1 eitr, mage chest + pants, armored cloak, and armored helm

Weapons I go dual axes, mistwalker, shield, bow, staff of the wilds, and staff of protection

your general idea is to be a support battle mage for everyone else, cast wild roots and bubbles, and slow/stagger enemies using mistwalker and then combo it up with axes (with occasional bow use for annoying enemies)

reminder tho you are still paper, since you have less armor + health than full armor build, but you make it up with the plethora of support opportunities

So if I manage to find the exact center of a zone, then I should expect that I can draw a 196x196m square around that center, and animal breeding will always be active when at that point? Guessing then that the biggest 'always active' base is a 128x128m centered around a zone corner?

You're going to want a harpoon just in case they get aggroed towards something, unless you're running it back to your base. As for the conditions, I don't remember the particulars, but I think it needs to be at night.

If you run into a serpent or get too close to shore where they want to attack something they'll try to jump off. I'm not sure if the drakkar keeps them in or not, I haven't used that ship to transport animals myself.

I'd rather be safe than sorry after going through the trouble of taming a 2 star wolf. I'd probably tame one, breed a couple on location, and then transport a few at a time back to my base (leaving the originals as backups).

Yeah it can be finicky to get right and you'll always have a bit of a wobble but very small, perfect straight isn't really possible but you can get very very close.

Yeah that's absolutely fine. My only issue is that i got parts of my wall like this, but then i suddenly took out 1 big chunk, and you have to do several other parts again as well (or that is just my lack of terraforming skills in this game)

Yeah sometimes it is just a small part jutting out and if you don't hit that right, you take out other chunks and may need to redo a whole portion with the hoe and back to pickaxe after.

You'll find a part of the copper node above ground and then you need to dig out the rest.
You can even make the whole copper node explode if you excavate it completely, like 2m clearance on all sides, even under it, if you then jump on top of it and break one piece it might all explode.

I have a server with a couple of buddies and we already have a well established base and are about to beat Bonemass. Is it better for a first experience to have my friend join our current server, or start from scratch with him on a different server to get used to the basics?

I've found and locked up a starred wolf, but I couldn't make it eat before it turned morning. Now it's sitting there and refusing to eat.

Make sure you're hiding and not making it aggro on accident or it will hinder the taming process, if you see heart bubbles floating off them they're taming and shouldn't despawn if you leave, however the taming process will be interrupted if you leave render distance from the wolf

It will despawn if you leave the area before it starts taming, yes. I'm not sure if waiting for night again will prevent that one from trying to run away or not.

Are they hungry? Sometimes the placement of the food just takes some time to get right even if it looks like they should be able to eat it. I use stacks of 50 so when I get it right I don't need to worry about it for a while

It's honestly just super finicky, I have issues all the time. Moving the fence back using the door snapping point trick is a great idea and usually helps the food drop closer

In case you don't know, you place a wooden door where your current wall is, then use the back of the wooden door to snap the wall to in order to nudge the wall a little closer into the space the boars are occupying. In this case, your wall would end up being just slightly to to the left of where it is pictured now.

I read a reddit comment suggesting that although the area of spawn protection might be a sphere, ground level is used to determine whether or not a spawn is valid. So I suppose that means that as long as my campfires are 20m apart in 3d space, then I don't have to worry about spawns that may be out of radius

• Any difference in Z height of spawns doesn't matter, since the zone is checked on ground

Don't get me wrong, Porcupine is quite good weapon otherwise as it deals higher total damage than Frostner, staggers better and partial pierce damage is also useful against Loxen for example, but it's not as good against Yagluth as Frostner because of the pierce damage part.
You probably need only 1 silver node to fully upgrade your Frostner so it shouldn't be a problem.
Flesh rippers is also okay weapon against Yagluth, as they are fast and deal slash damage. I've used them during some encounters.

I assume you mean Iron atgeir by 2 handed spear. Atgeirs are really good. You can also craft Black metal atgeir, it is quite an upgrade in damage and staggering.

I'd give it a go. I've played for 1,000+ hours and have never had a Gjall spawn directly above my farms in the mistlands before. Granted, that's not a thousand hours in that one location but you'd think it would happen once in all that time. They always spawn on a side of it.

I'd agree, yeah. I've learned that the spawn mechanics are based on active zones. So the 64x64 zone you're in, and the surrounding 64x64s can potentially have spawns. So if you have a base you never leave that's 1x1 zone, and the surrounding 3x3 has the full ground suppression, then I believe you'll never see a spawn, ever

Wait, wiki has 'creatures visible/move/attack' in a 3x3 zone around player, but only 'current zone' of 1x1 has active spawners. So you can simply protect a 1x1?

Put the files in worlds_local folder, launch the game, and you will be able to play on the world. If you want to mark the world to be synced with Steam Cloud, you would have to access manage saves button in the starting menu and move the save to Cloud there.

yea the only things that stop processing while unloaded are taming and breeding animals, since those can't rely on the assumption that conditions for their timers are always met while unloaded.
i'm not sure what would cause this, i think i had the opposite experience one time where i had multiple unloaded extractors take more sap from a root than it should've been able to produce/store in that time 😅

You could also dig a pit near the spawner and push 3 greydwarves in that pit. If there are 3 or more greydwarves near spawner then it won't spawn more of them.

If you're not up to something, you don't really need tree seeds. You will find plenty of wood, while playing.

have you tried hitting it with weapons? though they don't count as a structure, i don't remember them being completely indestructible either, just not targetable with a hammer.

it probably doesn't use the stability system, instead acting like a tree, rock or bush. it's not buildable by players so it doesn't really need to run stability calculations

If you're blocking and dodging well, it should be enough until ashlands, but you may want to use carapace or padded armor for the extra protection.

Fenris armor + Root Harnesk is what I used to solo her along with Krom and a Draugr Fang for main dps (also this armor is even viable in Ashlands). Also use Bonemass power (if u aren't already), and bring good food, heals, stamina potions, and poison resistance. Also Tonic of Ratatosk will help as well because u will need to run away alot, dodge, etc. Also get some sort of AOE like Ooze or bile bombs, Demolisher or Atgeir to deal with the enemies she spawns.

you can sail on a regular boat and jump on top of the spires, and jump from 1 to the other till u reach the mainland (using potions, fenris armor, building etc), or constantly repair ur boat by placing work benches on spires and sailing thru it all
