I see...My wall only covers part of the "front" entrace... (because I ran out of, and am lazy) soo thats a lot of stones
Yeah ik fortunately enough I play with my friend so we can get 2 carts of stones easily
good luck with that and back to work!
Thanks
nighttime photo to not spoil the full reveal
i would say do a 2 roof design with the angles - more slope on the edges to the centre with the high roof
will bring more edge and uniqueness to the build
@red locust had to bring up very old images - something like this with the angles on the roof to the full 45degree
❤️ Will check it out tmrw, zzz now
More bubbles please!
This looking good so far!
but not stonework protruding through woodwork in front of it....
i'd stick a banner in front of the wood or something else to hide the clipping
yea don't think alot of people know the windmill blades actually deal blunt dmg to bats during cauldron event and drakes during moder, the cauldron event is actually such a nuisance if you have any breeder pens that use height to work setup bats always kill your breeders lol
anyone know whats going on here its hard enough to find a large mist free area for jotun and magecap i finally found one but the terrain keeps doing this i come back and yea
pretty sure the ground well above its raise limit too when this happens cause it was a filled in hole
I suggested shift+placing the wood slightly forward to cover up the stone.
didnt think it was possible to make an angled ridge roof :) glad i figured it out
now i gotta start transferring items and making crafting stations...
im thinking about making a basement but one missclick and half the house goes down 😂
yes, it is better to do it before, not after 😹
@red locustyou have a lot of free space at the ends of the roof, you can decorate it with something 😼 👍
i wish i could add some extra stuff like that but i have literally maxed out the stability
. i might replace some beams with iron once i get it cooking
stability is for cowards, you are a Viking, well, half the house will fall apart, so what? 😹
@red locustI'm also doing a little renovation on my base 😹
I make earthen walls, then I line them with stone, and this allows me to build very high 😼
Back isn't decorated so much,
I see that many people love ditches:)
I lean towards natural ditches. Try to find river spots that lend to easy isolation.
Just depends on the area around what I'm building, if it's close to/ on the shore I'll trench it out and build up the shore so it's not easily accessible from the water by mobs. If it's pretty much anywhere else I'll either leave it mostly natural with some flat areas to build structures or build up earthen walls around a large flattened area to build in. I did a little simple hillside village with the natural terrain a while back, it turned out alright.
Basically all 3 houses going down the hill look like this. "cookie cutter" (i did wall in the sleeping quarters). but this what i meant by "natural terrain" i didn't terraform anything but the cobblestone paths and just enough to put a few floor tiles and a bed under the fireplace.
#screenshots message
how can i vent the smoke out of my ceiling?
Depends on what the stability at the top there is, but you can raise the center section on 1 m wood pieces over where the fire is and put the cap on top of that, or just use an angle piece instead of the roof cap
this looks a bit tacky lol
Unfortunately you're somewhat limited by physics in the game 😉 real life chimneys need caps and structure like that as well
The nice thing is that the way you had it initially doesn't actually hurt anything functionally
i guess it looks alright now
reworked the roof a little cause it looked ugly from this side
@cyan tapir
My mistlands base viewed from above at night
wow <3
This is turning out really nice!!
i got lots of work to do still haha
Working with the spires. I've been wanting to do this. Your build looks incredible. I found a spot that had triple spire. I had this vision for a Tolarian academy
That would look stunning man! 🤩
Mistlands really is one of the best biomes for building
My base at dawn (just stopped raining)
The lighting and atmosphere is hard to beat. With great contrast in color
Can we get an inside tour?* The wood and stone on black marble looks so good. I was skeptical of how they could compliment each other
Sure - it's a bit of a full single passage layout
you start at the front door which has a single spiral stair to get to it - should hopefully help to keep out non-flying raiders
Followed by the kitchen / first portal room (This leads to another base I have in the world)
also a small intermediate room with a portal to an infested mine i use for collecting goodies
Stepping through the door you have a lovely view of the main bedroom and staircase up to the workshop and cooking area, as well as a second staircase leading to the lookout on the top of the spire
If you enter the big door that is the main bedroom where I got my profile pic
if you go into the cooking area / workshop I have a single set of basic crafting stations (I main a mage build, so no need to have 100 crafting stations I don't use), as well as a mage center (apologies for the excessive lighting 🤣)
The lookout gives a good view of the surrounding valley and a nice look at the base from above
All in all, the base is mostly built out of wood with a few nice extra's thrown in where I could spare the black marble
The involvement of foliage in some of these shots. Cozy place. Looks lived in. I sure would like some house plants. Brings a lot to a well lit space.
It would be amazing! 🤩
I really liked the idea of keeping it small and cozy - built for one with the full layout of everything a wizard could need
Mission accomplished
New world, new base:
This time I have it so that two people live inside the pyramid.
first post, good portion of my base cheers
@woeful pumice Alright, is this "defensible" enough for you?
where is the castle moat? 🙀
the castle is in the lowlands, the troll will throw stones at you from above, the greenery around blocks the view for shooting, there are many blind spots that are not provided with firing zones? 😹
It looks nice though
@clever ventureJokes aside, it's a cool castle 😼 👍
There is a moat, around the actual hold. The land around it isn't above ground, it's at most level, and around the main keep there is not only a moat, but raised earth and stone walls
There are archery ports, catwalks, and access all throughout the two gatehouses, don't worry
It's a poor screenshot of the actual facilities imo
A little clearer
This one reminds me of Nubian pyramids. Looks great!
nice build but the risks are still present, trolls will throw rocks and smash yr walls up
this is a real moat and earth wall defences, pretty impregnable
No, this is a real impregnable fortress
Finally decided how I wanted to decorate my new keep @forest maple
Dang that looks sick! I like the floor a lot. Working on my black marble workshop currently.
that wooden gate door looks out of place :P
Yeah, it's the back door. I might replace it, or try to hide it better. Main entrance is over a bridge so I wanted a second way to get in and out just in case.
This hurt my brain for like 10 seconds, I demand recompense.
Hardest part was getting the stone floor pieces offset just right for the pillars to show through right
i dunno for me the stone floor looks too janky to mix with the marble, but that's personal preference
The only way I like mixing black marble/stone is in a black/white chessboard pattern flooring
Hah. That's basically how it is 😉 Just a couple fancy offsets.
Looks like a ringed pattern to me
Imagine the pain of trying to do a true ringed pattern with the way the snap points work....
a few here experiment with mixing them, but i haven't liked the look of any of them aside from the chessboard
It wasn't too bad... I was more referring to the colors alternating, not a checkerboard specifically
the way stone joins to stone just irks me
I would like using stone 3x more than I do, if it were as smooth as black marble in terms of pixel collision. The fact that it pokes through wooden cover wall irks the hell out of me and especially if you're using stone roofing + wooded tiles underneath, almost 50% of it comes through.
😬 🙈
why, god, why
Y'all just a bunch of haters 😉
@frosty birch
Here’s my Eitr workshop! Tried to incorporate some Dwarven style construction without outright copying them. The lanterns combined with the sconces make for amazing lighting. I think core wood looks great with marble. The refinery is safely ‘locked’ behind a cage to prevent any unwanted damage.
This is a work in progress, I plan on build a second floor, might make it a tower or something.
LOL don’t worry, I think it looks neat 🤌
progress pic
What are those arrows?
My planned endgame build, It's not furbished right now and in the last picture I intend to add a spiral staircase to a bedroom. I also intend to make the roofing to shingles.
At night im trying to get a mystical cozy feeling with the campfire in the lounge and the mistlights in the main craft area
crystal walls put into the gaps created by 16 side buildings
That's what i figured it was, looks nice
thank you!
Can i see your garden areas?
for mine? there aren't any yet but i'll add a picture after
Working on a massive survival temple. The spire is nearly 80m from where I took this screenshot.
i have no clue about door design, any suggestion
also i wanna try a small doorway but still no clue
I would get rid of the pieces that are angled in toward the door there, just make them the 1x1 cubes. Then for the arches, move them out to the side and separate them with another 1x1 cube so that there's no clipping over the door
I ment anyone who had any gardening ideas
thank you!
Asked our friend what we should build in Valheim this time. He said let's build a Lodge. Roof is almost done, here some construction progress photos. Don't think he realized the scale we normally build at.
Crypt is in the basement, sub basement is the kitchen which leads to the 3 biome farm
Mother of Wood that is gargantuan!
This is insane. Do you mind sending a pic of the exterior?
Nevermind. Just seen the pics you posted.
I think this looks fantastic and I am totally going to use it in the village beneath my temple
super happy rn with how the way my small farming garden turned out
@mild venture this is what i have been doing for the past 91 days in my world lol
dude honestly that shit looks nice asf
Heh the temple casts a very long shadow
I see there is a lot of people with a lot of patient 😮
And a lot of stone
Yeah!
Each circle more scuffed than the last, only the bottom was perfect
I finished the "groundwork" / "shell" of the tower
now to finish adding 3 more of these supporting side pillars, along with the top of the tower itself, and then carve out a lot of details...
its hard to get a grasp on how big it is
small updates to the "Trident castle"
calling it quits for now, gotta work on the "crown" of the tower, i cant find a good shape so far
do the isengart shape
and mods
that is the plan, I'm kinda doing the orthanc but not really
A humble freshly made warehouse waiting to be filled
What's the point of building it this size?
To store stuff
How many hours does it take to collect resources to fill this warehouse?
Hopefully longer than I'm willing to play the game... hopefully.

Is there a landmark in there shaped like a trident, like some kind of monument?
it's a sign on the tower wall - from both side. And also it's sign of trident at the gate what leading from the lower city to the castle and to the citadel
also I'm really digging how smooth the road looks in the 8th pic (no pun intended)Must have taken quite a few tries to get it that way 😬
Oh yeah - it takes a while to make it 😅 .
And actually at that place where is lower city is - there by default was goblin tower ( or that small house with 2 floor's from stone )
The Island of the lost ships. Not a masterpiece, just chaos and some mods
made a portal hub at elkthyrs altar
Lol elkthyr the moose-deer
Now summon him 😛
Bro built the pentagon
anybody have some design ideas for the indoors? (maybe outdoors too) im not very creative lmao
base has alot of potential but idk
Really like the style of your build, that combination of core wood and black marble looks great! Already nicked the idea for a mistlands build I'm just working on. Really love your hanging baskets too, they are great, and lots of other lovely details. Hope you'll show more of your build once it's done!
Thank you, I will be happy to show you the final result of my base. But the resource chests need to be replenished, so the finish line is still a long way off.
This is my Mountain cabin 🙂
That's really noice
I forgot to post how it looks on the inside (it's next to Moder's spawn so I have the view of the temple)
I always feel proud and happy of my buildings then i open this channel 😂
Well i guess this channel much more for inspiration and sharing 😀
Working on my berryfarm!
you can achieve the roof lattice effect faster and cheaper with ladders 😉 yours looks nice too tho
what do you guys think of my dock i spent 5 hours building it
Humble beginnings 🙂
didn't even think of it, thanks for the tip!
And if you do the slats the other direction with slanted beams, they don't take water damage. But it's definitely a different look.
first dock crane i have build kinda ugly 😛
Dock Crane: "What is my purpose?"
Viking: "You do nothing but look pretty and make my world look more alive."
Dock Crane: "... Oh my god."
I have the perfect emoji for this.. if only
I really like the bedrooms.
My character is Citan, my son plays torkel and he decorated his own room. I did the structure though.
Also thank you.
Super well thought out design there. I also like the cojones of walking around near the Plains in in just Fenris armor, and not even the hood 😉
Making a barn for my boars right now and i need feedback on which roof you guys think looks best
Option 4 🤌
I just went with this instead. does it still look alright?
Yeah that looks great too! Maybe you could add a beam to the top and hang a brazier from it? That would be neat.
I like how you extended the roof, really adds depth to the build.
like this? i think the beam on top looks better
Yep! Yep, the second image is what I had imagined, that looks badass!
well - at rain time it will fade
Need to figure out something fun to do with this... I'm thinking building above it on some iron supported stilts so it can stay visible as a beacon
That’s actually tough, maybe you could build up a little outpost with a plank for jumping off with the feather cape?
I'm gonna use some iron and build up around it, see if I can make a raised base above it so it can stay as a beacon (it's super tall), and probably bridge over to that slightly lower peak in the background
This is what it looks like from over there
Just a little free building, took a little inspiration from #building-ideas message
Vetlive used to do a lot of structures framed this way. Looks great
I had padded pants on too. Lol. Also, thanks.
Wow, very cool!
day 200 in my small humble viking village
That was fun, now to get back to my very hard playthrough, mountains are quite hard on very hard 😅

The house that will last me the rest of my playthrough seems to be coming along well.
It's not turning out how I expected, but I believe it looks good.
I hope I don't get disappointed with it and scrap the entire thing like I tend to do lol
Harbor for 6 longships
6 longships? that's a lotta seamen 😉
Pause
need a dock and this thing is almost finished on the exterior
Followup concept to my pen idea in #valheim-help excuse the horrid MS paint blueprint
Prevents raids from killing my boars (mostly), extends the house for storage, and looks dope in theory
now to mine the stone...
The ground is shaking
Its coming along great, just very expensive and the roofing needs work.
Progress is going slowly. I have decided though that the first half is going to be a glorified entry way, and made the second half bigger. I'm going to have some kind of section composed with stone intersecting the middle I think.
Some Minor progress on the new channel bridge/ gate
Anyone have any name ideas? The finished product will be inspired by a combination of the old medieval London bridge, Tower bridge in london, and the Twins from asoiaf
what the new gatehouse will possibly maybe probably look like
That looks amazing!
nice stone work. good use of clipping/overlapping.
Shouldn't modded builds be posted in #mods-screenshots ?
Yes it should. Modded builders just can’t help themselves.
Sorry bout that lol
cool night time view of my city on both sides of the channel
lighthouse lookin eerie
its cutting it a bit close but i think this archway might be just barley tall enough for the boat
barley, indeed
what should I do here?
Alright, got a lot of work done on it today. Also made me realize I really want to go back to the entry and modify/clean it up a bit.
Also a bonus screenshot of the framework being built during a storm.
Oh, and also it got even bigger this session. Extended the rear out even more and might have a stone patio out back.
Mistlands spire base is starting to take shape
Looks ripe for an art installation
Nice, always love that brick pattern! Can’t wait to see more progress on this
Thanks 🙂 Gotta decide if I'm going to make the upper level all stone as well, make a third level with Corewood logs, so many choices
Ooooh I need to send you picture of the new addition on my Eitr workshop, might inspire you 😁
I'm thinking I want to put a hot tub on the roof, maybe some kinda half open top cabana floor. Gotta figure out a fire, too
i had the same idea for what i'm building, but haven't come up with anything i like yet. can't wait to see what you end up doing
comfy vibes
coming together nicely i think
@frosty birch
Here’s my add-on for my Eitr workshop, I went with core wood as the third-ish floor. I think core wood blends really well with black marble!
(Kinda empty right now, need more copper for lighting lol)
the front facade looks great, just continue with that and 🤌
Nice. I finished up the overall structure of my outpost, now I've got to decorate. I'll put up a screenie later.
still needs some fine details and decoration but the towers and bridge structure are done
Cozy bed
Need to put some more flourishes and decoration on, but the overall structure is pretty much done @forest maple
Probably ought to get some ballistas built for protection soon, too...
That’s going to be so fun to jump off of with the feather cape lol
My smelting setup is at the base of the hill to the left, guarded by a friendly dvergr, so I do that often 😛
I was actually lucky enough that that bridge there is fully corewood and regular wood, no iron required to get it to bridge that gap
Oh nice, that is lucky! What’s your plan for the interior?
No idea. I'm thinking a living room type area on the lowest level, and an ornate bedroom on the middle level. I'll just have to inspire a bit.
The inside is fun since it has some of the natural rock built into the structure, and the stairs kinda spiral around it. I'll make a video in a couple days once I get all that done, still pictures don't really do it justice
though i plan to add more to the bridge like buildings and more decoration it is too a stage that i can call done for now
Turned out really good!
seaside tower :3
@keen runelooks like one of the towers from Age of Empire 2 😄 nice build
But how to use this bridge if you need to carry something? 🙀
younger me had big ambitions with this tower but now i draw a blank on what to do with it
Take it down. Build on new ambitions.
Make it a ridiculously large storage facility
Just put a single wooden chest in the middle, with 3 pieces of resin in it.
A place to keep all your bone fragments
One of my first builds was a large core wood tower, on the ground floor i had it sectioned off in 4 quadrants, one was a cooking area, 1 for smelting, 1 for crafting and an entrance with a staircase up to the top where i had a bar, living quarters and a medium sized storage room
it's supported by trees so no idea how you'd get a roof or floor in there even
Wood iron
yeah i just don't see it being used in the picture
stone floor celing
oh it is wood iron lol, sorry my eyes are definately not what they used to be .. why not replace the trees with more iron then?
Free support lol
the onlything i can say i lilke about it, its pretty much un raidable
without covering the trees with a ton of stone or something i have no idea... maybe just play/build something else till you get an idea for what you had in mind?
Actually, building on this... I haven't tried, but can you build a chest on a hanging brazier? Or just put it on a small platform hanging from the very top center of the ceiling there 😛
Hmm maybe put a personal chest on a brazier? Those small 8 iron chests.
the one resin chest
Looks like a chest in a zelda game that has a a unique item or something lol 🪃
The sound played in my head as I read that
Now we need to make a labyrinth for this chest😁
Ended up ripping down the middle and front for a completely different remodel. I think this will turn out quite good at this rate.
do you guys like my forge? I know it's small, but I've never been very keen on building in games, so I'm proud of it.
looks awesome
thanks! ❤️
Annnddd the roof is now done! Now the actual hard part, filling out the walls without making it look devoid of the awesome depth I've created.
View of how it looks from the shoreline where I will come in after a long journey (ignore the temporary shack on the left)
Interior shot before it eventually gets cluttered with walls and objects to turn it into a functional living space. Definitely going to have a throne staring down the entry
Built this storage area but my friend thinks it's "ugly" and was a "waste of time." Is it good or bad?
If you like it, then why is it bad?
Oh I'm quite proud of it.
Give a friend the opportunity to build his own warehouse and see whose construction is more interesting
Viking castle build🏰
nice man that good
is stacked a bunch of deer hid on echother
DEAR GOD
If you showed me that screenshot out of context and asked me whether it was made in this game, I'd have said no way.
Hehe, thanks! It's also 100% built on a survival server, to make it even more epic.
It is awe inspiring. After seeing this, I'm going to have to make some big structure from northrend in world of warcraft now.
the mix of norse and fantasy architecture of wrath of the lich king has never left my mind.
Great idea! Go for it! Be sure to post it and tag me so i don't miss it!
I'd definitely say wait until you make it to the plains (5th biome) so you have better building materials to work with. But that sounds like it'll be cool as heck.
oh yeah, I'm not doing that now. I don't even have stone xd
could we see some more pictures of the castle if possible? would be nice to see more angles and more details
As requested, more pic of the Viking Castle
That's amazing, easily one of the best stone builds I've seen.
If you have more interior shots I'd love to see those as well!
I have made more progress, the front's walls are filled in. I didn't want to overcomplicate but I didn't want them to appear too plain. I think I achieved the middleground.
Next session is filling out the rear's walls and then eventually I get to mess around with interior
Doing a simple troll cave starter home on this new world
rate the mountains outpost
quaint & cozy af
9/10
Now it just needs Decoration, Facilities, and touchups here and there.
can see my ship all the way down at the shore from the throne
- Longhouse: this is where I cook and sleep.
- Storage/workshop house: not done as I need 14 stacks of finewood to complete the iron chest storage system.
- Smelter + Farm.
- Portal hub: not finished as I need surtling cores and finewood, the roof is also unfinished as I ran out of tar.
Lakeside Village in the plains, took about 6 weeks but I love it
I did short video tour on it with different lightings #self-promotion message
yo thats fire
Holy cow man, this is incredible.
Beautiful.
yall are amazing builders
Nightshot - view from my offdshore shanty looking towards the village
Any inspo for building with black marble?
My spooky-themed "cabin in the woods/witch tower" build
A nice table idea!
There is an idea for a building made of solid wood and marble
Try combining core wood with black marble, looks pretty nice.
Something like this maybe? My current main base.
Amazing!!!!🤩🤩🤩
Also, ||someone is wearing a root for a hat|| 😂
Crossroads on plains
Warcraft player?
1st attempt at complex roof
Yeah I like to play Warcraft but I only played in strategies
Played the strategy ones when I was a kid, surprised I can still recognize those orc structures
Damn that was my reaction too, warcraft 3 orc vibes
Or WoW. That watchtower could be straight out of Crossroads.
each tower has wide stair cases that do fit wagons if you dont wanna use a boat and there is a cargo lift though its only for decoration since it cant actually function.
Plains are so nice imo, my favorite place to build. Here's my first plains build in my current playthrough, just a kitchen basically lol but I sailed back home and brought some iron and stuff over to put up a forge and a blast furnace, i also went and got some barley from a fuling village up the hill a ways after i took these screenshsots, and have a small barley field going now too
Oh and my first 4 lox pies being baked as well
Yes truly the best biome for chill building vibes.
Follow-up to yesterdays tower:
What's the name of those little house-like structures on top of castle towers?
If they're open they're called parapets I believe, but I'm not sure if they have a formal name
I get battlements as results when googling
That term is so broad though.
Pretty much every part of the structure that is intended for active defense is a battlement.
Have you considered adding some buttressing to the stone parts? It looks a little bland right now. The wood part looks great though.
That makes it hard to search and I've wanted to know what they're called for a while
Yes! Need ideas cause its super bland right now
Was thinking perhaps framing out sections with core wood or dark wood. And some windows
Nervous about the windows though and stability, dont want whole thing to fall when I make an opening lol
You can frame the windows with wood iron beams before deleting the stones if you're worried about stability. You can cover them up with corewood or darkwood to hide them too.
Depends on what you mean, but i would assume turrets and/or corbels or a combination. Fancy pointed rooftops are called spires. Which can still have battlements around them depending on construction. Other things may be oriels or garderobes. Lots of little structures that can be considered house-like on/ around towers.
@forest maple I think I'm mostly finished with it now https://youtu.be/CLjpEzlR00o
A short tour of the Mistlands clifftop retreat I built. Not really fukctional for anything except comfort, sap, and a jumping off point for exploration, but a fun build nonetheless.
Made a lot of progress on my Valheim house since the last post. I've never tried making a basement before, but I am quite happy with how it turned out. Have an exeterior cart entrance and an interior stairwell to my bedroom, a space for crafting + storage + a vault.
Some pictures of my black marble river fortress (ignore the ugly front courtyard, it's still a WIP).
i love the way you did the ledge
Dang that looks incredible! Makes me want to work on my mistlands boss lol.
nice open spaced house with a kitchen/workshop also a chill area with a fire pit
cozy
Love having wall-to-wall lox carpeting in my builds, too
more cosy looking
leave the bedrooms to the potion hall
snow cabbin
my little farm 👩🌾 nothing too special, the crops aren't at full capacity yet, and the chicken coop is empty, but it's the first build i'm really proud of 'cause it's functional and manages to look good at the same time. bad weather in the pic
Rain makes buildings shine and they look even more beautiful
No Man's Sea?
I'm sorry; this isn't something I am familiar with.
Ohh I get it now😂
So it wasn't me seeing things
that game is engrained into my DNA. i had an honest-to-gods life-changing experience when I first played it on release. I cannot see anything else when someone posts octahedrons, especially with little drops of red in the centre
what made you come up with this shape and build if you're unfamiliar with NMS? that's the only place i know anytthing similar in shape and colour from. the only other large octahedral i'm aware of in pop culture is Ramiel from NGE but she's blue
When Mistlands first came out, I wanted to try out the black marble build pieces. After experimenting with a pyramid, i decided to try a diamond. It was fun, but was tough fitting all of the crafting/smelting into it. On my current community server, we have shared crafting/cooking, so I revisited this design for my personal home.
If I was to credit anything for inspiration, I'd have to say weird fiction and sci-fi/horror from the 1920's and 1930's.
ahh I see, thanks for letting me know! NMS has similar vibes to what you describe, and it's own base building system alongside a lot of customisation, you migth what to check it out if you're into sci-fi at all.
all that aside, it's an awesome build
Cool. I think I skipped it due to all the bad press at release, but will check it out. This was the original build; I think I like it out in the ocean a bit more.
Trying to be creative. Still WIP.
You're succeeding! I'd love to explore that, never seen anything like it
Hedron life~
Is it just me or does the building on the right look a little like a wild west saloon? It's only missing the doors, really.
Haha, now that you mention it...
It's meant to be a garage/storage for carts and work shop. A viewing balcony on the top because there's a really nice view from there.
Well it's mead production now. 😁
Destiny pyramid vibes much?
Never played this game either, but my pyramid build is visible here: https://youtu.be/HB0VrHa2kW0?si=aGM89HFlrHaVA0Ej
Vanilla Valheim community server, Pyramid home and linked farmhouse.
This is vanilla.
Guard tower
my watch tower in the mountains
my apologies, didn't realize this channel had changed
my little and humble island shelter
Night shot of the new WIP mistlands home I'm working on. Mostly done, but still missing a few rooms and a lot of details.
The roof is one of the more geometrically complex ones I've done so far, but I'm extremely happy with how it turned out. It helps, I think, that the house is above the snow line.
Keep us posted man! That looks great!!! 🥳🥳
Slowly comin along
Viking Corporate Retreat
A simple fishing hut. A place to rest after a good fishing trip... to go on another one. Comfy for the rested bonus and some storage space for rod, bait and fish.
Thanks!
Still needs a bit more work, but I'm quite happy with how the "treasure room" is coming out.
The living area in the lower level is nearly complete as well.
It's such a nice location, too. I really like these "home in the sky" type of builds.
how do you make tall marble towers without it crumbling?
iron wood. Lots of iron wood.
like, inside and along the marble?
exactly.
damn
yeah, building towers is expensive. Or really anything with stone and marble.
This one is normal size, without supports. But you can support stone with metal
you used no metal supports with the tower?!?!?!?
Nope
Oh I REALLY like that! 🤩🤩🤩
The treasure wall is something AWESOME! 🥳🥳🥳
Oh man I really like this!
I love how you have incorporated multiple levels into your build, It’s looking so good!!!
WE'RE RICH
my first build is getting somewhere
Hello everyone, my English is not very good, but I want to share my building. I have just joined this game for about a month. I have studied many construction videos. I hope everyone can give me suggestions to make greater progress.🙇
Heck yeah, spoopy green. I love it.
Gotta stop for a bit, but did some decorating/furnishing today and added a whole bunch of "nook" storage, like you can see behind the blue curtains in the kitchen pic. Also finished the lower entrance and all the carpeting, and all of the roof trim.
The last shot (assuming Discord doesn't bork the order of the thumbnails) is an overhead of said roof so you can see how it's laid out.
It's all about floors!
Why don't floors get the love they deserve? Because they're used to being walked all over. Few people give them a second thought, but there's a WIDE variety you can do with some trial and error.
Put a room under it.
Walls should be a bit taller, and have some more decoration before meeting the floor, But I couldn't be bothered. Ceiling and floor are both annoying to build.
Sunken Crypt Fort
peak wall design
Finally!
Someone who gets it! 😂🥳
Love the e blue jute and rabbit hide
Ready for new update
reminded me of one of mine...4towercastle/port
The Bridge now has buildings on it
My little base in the Plains. Never built anything bigger than a 4x4 house so this was fun to do.
this game is so good visually
plains base up and running, but not finished
... not very defensible yet
This one kinda took a while.
a lot HP
just a starting house
Yea, that is because of epic loot. a mod. I should have posted the image in #mods-screenshots
Hey wait, it's a giant sword... and... nothing happened.
Smiffe needs to come and explain this
20x20 pyramid. I call it Giza
Pretty basic outside but I might wait for Ashlands to go live
Still my favourite base I did with friend
first building in the ashlands playthrough, im thinking about doing a village each biome. excited to play
simple but fun, i found a island not far from the starting island that would be perfect to take over, i plan on building a bridge over to it when i get a bronze axe and then ill start building a small meadows village/area
How'd you make that cloak?
Humble builder
ice hockey mountain, first solobase, church
I like your stadium (arena) on the first picture. Is there any video or something that how you do that?
except for how i made the ice there isnt much special about it. in order to have no visible gaps you need to overlap the floorparts which is a hustle
this is the start of my new base, do you have any ideas for buildings?
My 750+ days single play
@maiden furnace its just a feather cape and an eitr hood thats all lol
oh...
here you go....the Sword is the symbol of battle. i believed its quite suitable next to an arena with a beasthouse, a prison, several miniports and an octagon cage
of course the fence in the center can be lowered into the ground
It was a poke at @elfin oar - there was a discussion about how a giant sword stabbed the world in WoW and nothing really happened... and if that happened in Valheim, it would change the world dramatically - seeing the giant sword you made reminded me of that convo 🙂
Awesome build, btw - I love it!
preparing the fleet for the Ashlands expedition
that arena is so cool it looks like a sick nordic version of the Hippodrome of Constantinople
That cute Lox in the background just hanging out 🤭
How tf you see that lmfao
Zoomed in! 🤣
Damn, I just do a quick glance over builds
The pic was taken from a far and well im blind so i had to zoom in 🤭
Nah but this is sick! Gj 👏🏽
anyone know how i can improve my build?
Overhang the roof a bit beyond the wall.
and adding some some arches to the windows makes them look less blocky
At the front?
Stone or dark wood?
What do you think would look better? Also I thought about that but I'm not too sure where about on the window to put them, I'll give it a shot tho
Should I use 45° or 26°
Either or you'll need to play around with it also play around with the amount of overhang.
do you guys think this looks any better?
also if you have more ideas please lmk and thanks
What about a raised porch along the outside of the upper floor?
That's a lot of boats
Wdym?
vacation spot #2
meadows base with two friends who are new (i already made them gather stacks of copper and wood)
thats called a balcony btw
Yeah idk why it too so long for that word to come to me😅
NO STAHP....BALCONY, REALLY...MOTHER OF GAWD
Are you using the ''equinox'' seed by any chance? this spot, minus the buildings of course, look EXACTLY like the spot where I put my Lox Farm lol
actually an ancient Odinisking seed, it predates the gen websites versions (Spring'21)
It's so earilly similar, I have to take a picture later and show you.
why does it feel like you want to manipulate me into posting more? xD
Odin's Longhouse from God of War: Ragnarok (Work in Progress)
35k instances on Xbox series X on quality settings, minor stuttering but actually impressive, basically the same as my pc
console players will call 6 frames per second impressive
my issue would be why someone who has a PC switches to Xbox and rebuilds. But whatever ppl like/decide they gonna do anyways.
Show me something impressive
Pc players are so toxic it’s unreal 😂
10x better than my 2015 xbox one
awesome build
Lol nah, but 30 kinda is
i get about 10 fps on my 9 year old xbox 😂
But i generally play off game pass mobile, and get about 70 fps max casting from my phone to my tv on cloud gaming
Which really works decently tbh
I really dig that pattern with the stone floor and cobbled ground on that porch
great progress in the personal project of industrial port citadel There is still so much left, so much to do and so many new pieces that will come in the future. I'm still waiting for a larger door, perhaps 4x2 for the outer wall. I haven't even started yet xd. little by little it is built
Our swamp prep base in a world with my friends, three stories in the main house, a lounge, and a bunkroom which im standing on in the first picture
The bunkhouse previously mentioned, lacking beds:
i got carried away with extra posts
going to put the kiln and smelter here in a open section of the house, havent messed with the ground much yet
not much but i like it
needless to say, im out of wood haha
Lumberjack Simulator 2.0 😄 love the house! looking forward to seeing progress shots as you develop the site
the gladiators mansion and the teleporthub next to the spawnpoint
Ashland Materials Used‼️
first build using the new materials, there is definitely a learning curve to the snapping/connecting lol
awesome!!!! is that vanilla?
yes, no mods used 🙂
Please keep ashlands spoilers in the ashlands PTB channels, you can join them by going up to the channels and roles list at the top of the channel list, and selecting 'i want to be a public tester' the mods will likely remove your post from this channel if they see it
That being said, it does look good
"Rule 13) Do not backseat moderate. If you see someone breaking a rule, reach out to <@&816973484756172815> to contact a moderator."
thank you 😊
Lol I'm just letting you know, take it how you like.
uhm actually 🤓☝️
Redirecting is not backseat moderating
Segment of a fence. critigue is tolerated
Swamp tower
One way to build a fence.
Not a bad look
Tavern and inn
-Eikthyr's Pedestal-
To be added:
-O- Rear dock & Forge
-O- Portal tower & Road
-O- Some other stuff I'm unaware of
Resumed my work on this monstrosity 😄 Last night it took me 2hrs just to fill storage building with shelves 😄
I plan to upload it for anyone to explore when i finish, i tend to build more for wall through experience than for screenshots :]
finally put the roof over after building with a friend, day 77 and it came together so well
That all looks awesome, but it looks like that last screenshot has some of the new Ashlands pieces in it... you mind keeping spoilers out of these channels until the full release? You can share those shots in #valheim-public-test if you want
none of those are done with ashlands, o m not taking part in the publictesting.
Ohh... sorry, those looked like some of the new pieces with the lighting 😅 Looks great. Can't wait to see what you do with the expanded build set when it drops.
no worries, i love Pitabred 😉 planning to rebuild at least one map from the QuakeShooter Series
Building another layer of defense with 6 new fields for every crop whitch can growth in meadows, and small honey farm. First photo is before and other two are after
nice hidroplant :]
No screenshots including any Public Test Beta release content. Any posts containing any beta content are subject to deletion without warning.
“sculptures”😳
maybe a tutorial on sword? 😄
Hi , thank you for liking this! Here, we've used basic pieces fitted with internal and top lighting sources. I'll share a construction video in a few days.🥳
i hope i will not miss it :]
Good to know, thank you, was about to ask for opinions on my upgraded Great Hall
my base :)
still WIP
gonna redo the farms
and the smithing place
it was built before i went to the plains, quite outdated now :P
my first big building project in this game
wanted to do a longhouse
Once it hits full release we can post them here with spoilers, and you can post them to the beta channels if you want and discuss them there 🙂
nyehehehehe theres ptb content in that base
its all inside!
or out of view!
New work in progress. Not a single iron beam.
Definitely a nice thing about mistlands, plenty of solid environment to build into/ onto.
nice, i`ll pasta this over 2 major rivers i need navigable. Continue my highway
Do it! I enjoyed building it and am happy with how it turned out.
playing around with the styles of the signs to get big letters out of them with "protection" runes for my kitchen... Vanilla server
That looks great. How do you get the big letters?
Heh...
does this style of farm still work?
Gorgeous! I'm not that talented.
its a complicated mess
Is under the base hollow or all solid of rock/earth?
Pretty sure folks still do it
the problem was turnips
The text you write on the sign adds a SIZE tag like this:<size=100> where the number, in this case 100, is the one you modify to your liking. As an example, I leave you the following text:<voffset=-15em><size=30><#EC407A> I am the text of the sign
Any1 got any suggestions on how you can make the floor look decent here... planks just end up looking terrible with the overlap when getting to the middle
I am not sure I can explain this well. One thing that I have done is place the floor like normal in the center with no overlap. I would then raise the outer ring with the help of one manually placed floor piece. Creates a small step from the outer ring to the center adding a little depth to the floor.
The overlap is inevitable when you start building in circles. The best suggestion I can give you is to place rugs or carpets over the overlaps @grand parcel
Alright cheers guys, just wanted to make sure I wasnt being a moron
Made a quick example @grand parcel
Limits overlap to just the outer ring floor pieces.
I see yeah, it just cant look as smooth as hoped for, but thanks for showing me!
Looks awesome, but please put it in the #valheim-public-test channel. No spoilers or beta content in the public channels until it's released 🙂

a tower in ashlands from before
Its solid, raised earth. I have a different version with an undercroft, but this has a solid foundation, because of where its at. The waves cap only 1 block down from the platform surface during a storm, so i didnt want to build anything that would be underwater at times.
made a little bbq area next to my boars, this bird really wanted to check it out but little did he know i didnt have anything to bbq
thanks birdy
nothin like a long day collecting iron and smelting over night. i like how this blacksmith area turned out
i like how the builds commin along, ive missed this game. still lots to build and explore.. still need a dock. hope everyones havin fun
Found these old pictures of my first world's bases.
Forgot they were on reddit lmao
That last one that's lit well enough to see looks great!
Just built this thing
I'm gonna get a non-foggy one because the fog blocks it
I made something cooler of it
Odin's Birdhouse honoring Huginn and Muninn
my pre ashlands main village! currently building the mistlands buildings to the right of the screen, cant wait to explore ashlands
Now i wanna see those pesky ||bats ||try
Its dinner time everyone is invited
new smithy/refinery building
Are you playing ashlands PTR ? Those buggy green lines are actually the borders between zones, can be very usefull to know which are active zones depending on your position !
i am yes
Kind of a tacky look though lol
When you've got some wood, what's your go-to crafting project? Definitely an axe! — Enhance the blade with fiery trophy effects to make the new "sculpture" stand out even more.
how do you do thatn in vanilla?
After a day of adventuring with friends, what's the first thing you do? Grab a drink, of course! ——— We settled on an island and built some "sculptures" to conceal the exposed workbenches. This is one of them.😜
the island is comming along
finished the bridge to, was debating on a roof but i kinda like the weathered look
eventually it will all get wet, hopefully
What those of us who turn off rain damage usually do when we want weathering is to hit a piece once with the pickaxe.
I don't believe that the horizontal beams touching stone will weather, so you may have to do that. Could be wrong; Valheim is weird about that sometimes.
that looks amazing bro
The diagonal beams also don't take weather damage iirc. Not sure if they'll take water damage from the waves, but they might. But yeh hitting them would be a bit faster and more reliable.
I think they might take damage from being submerged, but I believe you're correct about the rain--all the diagonal beams, as I recall, effectively function like roof pieces.
They provide shelter below and don't take rain damage.
ill keep that in mind!
looks like i have some more work to do 😉
My coop world plains base is coming together well, just need to sort up the inside and maybe expand enough for a smelter building attachment
Waiting for the trees to grow before building was a pain
theres gotta be a easier way x.x lolol
Not really, no, I'm afraid--damage it yourself or let it happen automatically if it does, those are the options.
It's not really an issue for me, because I almost never actually want wood to look decayed, and when I do I can choose to make it that way. But I imagine it'd be a pain if you had a big bridge or something you wanted that way.
Still a work in progress
yeah i usually dont like the look, but it looks good for a big long bridge, you guys were right and the wood connected to the concrete isnt turning so time to finess some pickaxeing
a tavern my buddy made, all the food funnels through here and it has the highest comfort on the world, so we all end up here before and after all adventures
nifty
but
how many ships do you need!?
All of them
Every time I start the game, I say to myself.. just a small place is all I need..
every crafting station needs its own building
I build buildings inside buildings.. why,... not a clue
to protek
russian doll syndrome i call it
Glass or Divider?
I chose Divider because looking at the glass reflection from a distance makes me feel a little unnatural.
Progress on my portal room, had the idea to use a oak as the center piece
Day and night of the finished product, quite happy with it!
It looks a lot smaller from the outside than from the inside
Finished my little Viking fortress thing
we bit restored the tower 🫠
Made another gif for it to get a better picture of it
How do you even set up in the black forest? don't you get constant "visitors"?
I built in creative so enemies were no big deal
ah, darn, cause seeing that lighting really makes me wana make a survival base in the black forest
It's easily doable. You just have to spawnproof and build a wall and/or moat.
Everything but the foliage is possible to make
Nice pic, with the rain and all... Mine is a forever WIP...
I feel your pain, thats why I turned to creative
i did it without using a creative
Reasonable, everytime I don't use creative I just make really detailed builds and constantly use up all my resources
My pc does not run the game smoothly near my base, where the wall is, and I cannot stand playing on 15fps any longer
I have around 10 black metal of stones, but not the fps to finish it '-' (too many instances)
While it is a build copy, it looks so pretty
What are the windows made from? Also yes
Stools 😂, 9 per window
Yes, but worth it (and I had the fine wood laying about)
The only things that I know how to build are houses and taverns, all you really need as a viking
I had a black metal chest half full of core+fine just sitting around, so it seemed fun
My house was too cluttered with portals
fenris + feather cape, nice gear
Easier to run around and get mats needed for builds compared to carapace
im using mage set with carapace helmet, bcz at mistlands using fenris doesn't provide much for survival
Yeah, I only run it when I'm rabbit hunting
Now than, time for the kitchen
Brilliant. How did you change the tombstone names to their labels?
create a new character with that name. put items in your inventory. stand where you want the tombstone to be and type /die. just remember to put a lot of items in as many slots as you can, otherwise the next person to click on the tombstone will cause all of the items to go into their inventory and the tombstone will disappear. so I just split the stacks and put 1 item per slot lol
Wow, might have to steal that on the next playthrough
it's hilarious. why even waste resources on blackmetal chest when you can just use a tombstone? and you can have more than 1 lol
divider will let the breeze in 😉
New gateway to my main base
this reminds me of my mountain castle, it was lost to a corrupted map file ages ago. love the castle up on the hill looking impregnable.
Thats intense, I love it
Just built this because I needed to learn how to make a longhouse with basic builds
I got a little carried away
Love it!!!
Finished my kitchen, man it took so much black marble (and metal for the storage in the back)
Forgot about the interior, 4 stoves, 4 fermenters, 2 cooking pots, 1 iron cooker, and 24 black metal chests in the back
Want to learn together? I just built a similar simple longhouse too, meant as an early game longhouse that gets continuously upgraded through out the game.
And well, your looks epic in comparison, while mine is bigger, yours is prettier by a lot. I ll se if I can get a screenshot.
I built a tavern too in relativly the same design
How do i do free camera? Thats my second longhouse, the other one is too monstrously huge. I wanted to build it completely from wood. The stone only functions to simulate the ground i was too lazy to perfectly flatten
Its just the structure, no decorations yet
If you type "Freefly" into the console
thank you
You could also just change some of the roofs to the 26 degree one to give it the arched roof
I experimented with giving teh backside middle part the 26 degrees roofs, well didnt work too well, But you gave me an idea
Progress on my base on my server for our Ashlands playthrough is coming along nicely
Gonna do a castle on top with the new building mats, super stoked to test out the new pieces
radical
A typical small mist outpost, exploring for brains.
Fairly new to building but I had fun making a stone base in the mountains.
Few more of the inside
Anyone know what to do with those gaps in the wall? It would be a waste if I were just to cover them, right?
No storage, I already have a storage/workshop house.
you coulld use core wood logs looks pretty cool
I know but I was thinking of using the space instead of just covering them with walls.
you could try to stack 50 stacks of materals up there ???
Finally finished my three-story house! This is a replacement for my previous longhouse which I didn't like that much. I'm in love with this one now!
This build took me a while because of work but today is my rest day. In total I think I spent around 11-13 hours (calculated based on my Steam play time) on this build including the 5 hours I spent on it today. I didn't spend all the time building though since I had to gather Tar.
The longhouse/previous house is the last image.
What do you think?
I'm really NOT a good exterior designer
Awesome looking!
Thanks!!
Newest thing I'm working towards is a base down South for the Ashlands, still pretty new here.
That looks cool too, I love a plains base, I think its the biome that the most crops will grow in.
Using Ashlands build pieces means you need to add the spoiler tag. Actually, any stuff from the Public Test shouldn't be posted here at all according to the pinned message.
I love building in the mountains, the atmosphere is just great, I only hate when I build my base too big and the snowstorms prevent me from seeing the entire thing 😂
I know what you mean
Yep, exactly that lmao
Does clipping ovens cause problems?
No
I use the oven to sleep in one build
Delete. Enough posting spoilers from the PTB.
What I've been working on recently, trying to make it a bigger village, got lots of plans still.
But not having entered mistlands on this server knowing I want to use some of the stuff from there holds me back a little, and having to collect a lot more tar aswell
book shelf. posting it because i love how they look
How's my kitchen?
Functionally not the best but looks good!
Everything is accessible though.
I like it, it looks really cozy 🥰
Added trims and dormers to the roof
This is crazy, that looks great. are those item stands? I'm def going to put one somewhere
How did you make those spiral stairs? Look so good!
Mistlands furniture
Oh, thanks! Haven't got there yet 😄
my latest build:
a Meeting Hall at a Portal Hub Hill
just a round build with some fancy windows, a nice sofa and some special glowing effects in the dark 😉

Those are signs placed close together
Console 2 is definitely the best controller set up imo. Also nice place
most of the screenshots are so far beyond anything I could design
how long did it take you to learn to build like that?
it take a while of just building and changing your designs to get to the result that you like.
key is to stick to the build for as long as it takes
I guess that makes sense. I always thought people just got it right on the first try
lot of practice, gotta visualize what you are aiming for as your putting the pieces down and terraforming
My kitchen
What could be built in here to make it more interesting. This is a path on a bridge-part im building.
Thx
This image taught me how to properly make those arched out roofs on regular domicile faces
incredible roofs!!!
It all started with a wood iron beam 45º frame that looked something like this.
Thank you.
my village 🙂 This is only like a quarter of it 😆
i built this for my first base forgetting that im probably gonna move soon
The base is ready
bright and airy, but also looks cozy! well done!
Built during the ashlands play test
Ashland zone is amazing most of the other content in this update is great to, BUT base build pieces are unfinished, all ashland build parts lack texture and are flat, so so flat, even some decor looks super unfinished, just look at the comparisons. I love Valheims visual style but these pieces are definitely not it. And they are way to shiny.
Only exception is flametal parts, they look good and fits in to logic. also from the Ashland structures example we can se that they know how to make way BETTER textures. Current build pieces and some objects looks super RUSHED
I take it as a face slap for any decent builder out there 🥲 but i hope DEVS will fix this after they take some well deserved rest. Just announce that you will fix it :] @elfin oar you are my message carrier here, i don't know other names except dvoid 😄
what's the problem tho?
Just quality control, there is obvious lack of it 😄
🥲
I assume its just because of lack of time or burnout, because zone itself looks amazing :]
Literally nothing lol
That's how progress is stopped, well i tried 👍
Tried what?
A lot of people have complained about the flat textures and how they feel out of place. Maybe they’re wrong, but given the volume perhaps more of a response/explanation could be given than a lack of acknowledgement and emojis?
The pieces are too polished (flat) and have a uniform bad texture, it would be surprising to hear that the same people made it as the ones who made the basic stone pieces for example. Hoping that they will be fixed, this has been echoed by so many builders.
The random alignment and rustic nature of the original stone pieces is one of the main things that made this game's style stand out in the first place at release, attracting many builders who could appreciate art and style. And 4 years later you let down those same dedicated builders by adding pieces that look like legos/plastic, or something from a mobile game.
that's just excuses :] and this comes from a hardcore fan of this game 🤷
Cool story bro
if they have issues with it, just fix it instead of abandoning the feature
exactly
every other stone/marble piece in the game has either some 3d cracks or random alignment, and definitely has good and random textures
what are these PPL with "FLAME" names???
You can't make an excuse for having a bad 2d texture, also it's been made clear that the dev team is ridiculously bad with technical optimizations (sorry guys), but please put in some more effort before release and not just duct tape solution everything always.
yes we as fans can wait, and we can forgo some issues, but that's until certain threshold 🤷 im here from alpha, actively participated in beta testing and encouraged every friend to buy this game, and now i see very sketchy behavior 🤷 well lets not rage to much, im sure there will be much more back lash 😄
They have their own pace, if they fix these things before the full release in like 2027, I guess I'll take it
well i cant argue with that 😄 add some decent MODs and this game is a beast still :]
Hi, during the ashlands PTB i stopped playing to rebuild my entire base cuz i wanted something a little more professional. I never been good in building in videogames so i just had to started learning valheims mechanics, and after a lot of hours this is the (almost) the finished result. Theres some terrain modification and structure decoration to do but for now i like it.
I started 04/25/2024(day 680 in game)-Ended today(day 988)
This was the house before
And now this the result of the house. i added the animals and plants farm too
Nice architecture, well done :]
thank you
got the frame and roof for my new house down
Let's try this again. I built a thing. #1202313396356128808BOTM 😄
Looks great, although botm isn't pulled from discord lol
I know. X only lets me post 4 pics just to prove it's a silly platform.
Well said. I love the shape of the new build pieces but texture is lacking on ash wood and grausten for me also.
been waiting so long to start my castle on my server with the new ashlands mats, what a great day in Valheim it will be
im not the best builder but home is home
hell yeah it is! Valheim was the game that taught me how to build. Idk how many nights i spent just experimenting with things lol
That's a whole castle
It only has 1 bedroom xd
Tbf there is a lot of stone in the way lol but looks awesome
It is very difficult to build due to natural unevenness >_<
the top edging and glass windows give it a very modern look up top, i like it
main city and one bridge at a different location
did a lil custom grave point of interest
love the way you've used glass! looks like a bond villain lair
really loving that tower, and how you've used the new build pieces - the contrast between the smooth texture and the coarse stone really makes those lines pop
are people building these things in story mode? thats so much material!!
Hey guys, my 1st Ashlands build is done.
Full vid of this build here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6nikBIkiRY
ASHLANDS ARE FINALLY HERE.
This is my first experimentation with the new build pieces.
Had a lot of fun.

Holy moly man you’re a pro, how did you get that rock formation for the base in that first picture?
First proper build in this game (ignore the health was building for ages xD)
Full house between me and a friend
Raise ground with hoe
Awesome work, that chimney is sick
Dang I need to try that, looks so cool
A little fun with building after a trip to Ashlands
This is one of the best builds I’ve seen using ash wood and grausten together in an organic way
Another perfect example how, out of place, new build pieces look. Especially in the interiors 😐
My first try with new building pieces
I must say they give a tones of new possibilities
This one is rock3_mountain in commands. Just did cut off the top part to make a beacon. So i dont need to refuel it, its made out of several surtlingtrophys placed on the groundholders.
Wait you can place rocks in commands? How do you do that?
Also what are surtling trophys and ground holders?
how far are u in the game?
It looks like a solid start to something cool
@sly hamlet here's one way, from some experimenting i did in the beta for ashlands
i think i may have built my dock a little too low
Easy to get in and out of the boats
the floors were starting to get water damage when the tide gets higher
i made it a little bit higher
my house is (almost) complete now
A Mistlands build 🌥️
pre elk base
Not really an immersive background, but I'm prepping this build to upload the Blueprint on Valheimians, so clearing out the clutter. Started out as pre Ashlands Portal Hub, but I couldn't help myself because I've been wanting a piece like that for soooo long. Also everything in the screenshots is vanilla and will be buildable through the blueprint (that's what I'm testing now at least). Placement obv is not. Edit: download link: https://www.valheimians.com/build/black-marble-portal-hub-with-a-hint-of-ashlands-modded-but-vanilla-friendly/
I would have been happy if you just highlighted the well 😛
Just a me thing ^^ Seeing someone place a well in my first real play made me go: I WANT TO DO THAT TOO! (building and sharing) - screenshot is from when I still used a texture mod.
Welp, I completed my temple after 3 months of work:
This was the final build before of a playthrough with a modest group of people. At the end, I was the last one building. The server owner helped me gather resources. The server was set to 1.5x resources, and I did use one mod - Gizmo, which provides multi-axis rotation, which was completely necessary to get the roof features I wanted.
That sai...
The music is my voice, my lyre (which I made myself last year), and a frame drum. Throat singing got some of those deeper and higher sounds.
This thing practically drank forests when I was building it lol
Ashlands builds next on the list 😬… has anyone converted one of the new fortress’s into a base?
I love your winding city wall! It is beautiful.
it's like that scene in world war z
added a tree house that will eventually be my rested buff area, the island is lookin spiffy
Are you sure you can fit all of the furniture in there?
\
only one way to find out, i can always extend it up another floor to, that or build a balcony, maybe a stairset up to a loft area thats even higher? idk so many ideas
could be multi leveled or extend it wider
I would build under the existing structure. It just seems like the only logical way
added a chimney, as far as trying to fit everything, ill tackle that as i see fit. cool just having a tree house
chimney made it look better i think
built this ship house and road to my portal fortress this week end. Need to make it less square in the future
Ahhh, I thought I crashed the game
cool little building i made in the plains!! still not finished tho
try lox rugs next and you will succeed 😄
Small tower on an island. This took 5+ hours.
My second creative ashlands build is finally "done"! It's the Dragon's Tavern inside the Black Forest, close to Haldor's location. On the first floor there are enough tables for any tired adventures and delicious food you can buy from the barkeeper. On the second floor there are also 4 guest rooms you can rent if you want to stay longer. Inside the structure of the roof there is also a little resting place for the barkeep. On the side of the house there's a shield generator, keeping the pesky rain away! (just for information this build was done with devcommands)
Need some help - can't seem to figure out outside corners with Grausten materials.
this is very nice & subtle
Grausten doesn't have outside roof corners iirc
Zulug420 has a nice guide on YouTube it confused me at the start too lol
Thats what we noticed - we will have to improvise.
Thanks for this!
We will have to look it up! Thanks!
Teleportation tree
as a first base it does everything its supposed to
Under construction
graves for tames wiped out in a base raid.
Just started the game two days ago (first time player). With around 7 hours in and the first boss down, this is my first Base and location I'll try to fortify and stuff. Water is really close nearby, but also the black forest 😅
The plan is to fortify with the help of the stones and build more buildings on the outside of it, but haven't thought more about that
Found one of those "give thanks" runestones so I turned it into a shrine 🙂
normally we recommend #mods-screenshots so vanilla players don't get confused when they can't build what they see here
Ah, I see. Now I know. Thanks :))
It looks pretty cool though
thats new ship is huge xD
lil castle
Can’t really get a great angle or lighting but built a pretty cool tower base also @toxic obsidian that looks great
Dude that's awesome looking
new world, new save
i love converting the standing stone ring into a palisade wall meadows base
Swamp port from an old server With my friends
A fun creative project using a lot of glass.
What is that glass, haven't found that yet, and around the windows, does that come with the glass or what did you use for the frame?
It's discovered in the mountains
Did you check who I'm replying to though, cuz it's not the guy above me 😄
I know about default glass
im thinking about a lookout tower/archer tower. would love suggestions on outside design
