can I?
test~
Raven Town still in Prozess !
This is a house i have been working on in survival on a world with my friends, i found the perfect rocks and made it underground ^-^ it is still WIP but i am very proud of it so far and wanted to share (we used 1 mod to allow us to dig deeper into the ground)
That is fantastic. So this is some big rock you dug out I assume?
Yup its 2 big rocks right next to eachother and a copper vein just barely connecting to the big rocks aswel
Was a lucky find
Ill do another post of it when its fully finished
Fantastic build dude, amazing stuff
Building a "storage" tower I suppose. Windmill will be at the top.
cool asf, how much stone used tho?!
Many many thousand
Valheim goes 'Silent Hill' when fog and time of day line up correctly.
Many thanks my Dude
Made some progress on the keep of the castle, the spiral stairs are fully surrounded with stone and walks pretty smoothly on the outside edge. And the last tower insides are a few beds for "kitchen staff" and storage.
Finished building the keep, and connected the armoury tower to the top of the keep with a little sky bridge, and got the bed and bath set up as well. Used dark wood beams to cover up the iron wood for the ceilings. Just need to finish decorating and do the garden beside the kitchen, and maybe a separate bath house as well in the back.
Finished the tower yesterday.
Definitely ended up well, the roof makes it so much better though.
Finished off the kitchen with a meadery, and added a windmill and beehives to the garden.
Finished off decorations in/around the keep, and made a grand-ish entrance for the castle. Nothing too fancy.
My other free builds in this world, a floating Hags Cabin, a Tower, Mount Castellon, Hildirs Longhouse
And last but not least, my Hall of Odin, and my Dvergr Castle and Portalhub that connects them all.
Small mountain castle
This is the most complex base I have built so far.
Trying to make one more complex then this.
Nice base, but floor(you can play with patterns of stone floor here) and port(u can add some wood here) looks boring for me
I would've preferred to post it here, but mods, so... #mods-screenshots message
Simple island base up & running π
Cute little table for two :>
Working on a docking bay for my home
Finally, a home in the plains, decorated. Now i maybe start doing the stuff to actually progress.
inspired by yt videos, but added smth mine into it
made a garden shrine on a tiny swamp patch between black forest and plains.. with a few spawned bushes and yggatrees π
@oak gate @ornate galleon Both these builds inspired me and gave me an idea on how to build my dinning hall/mead hall. Great job guys.
np
WIP 100% survival kingdom, its rough around the corners and got lots of unfinished builds, but its been coming along over the years
one closer shot of the castle
the house on the right with the thatch roof was the first and one time only house upon the hill before everything else
the latest addition to everything was this forge I designed yesterday after me and a friend beat moder
Very quaint, i like it
the amount of interior design throughout the build, would flood the channel so I aint even gonna bother, theres a reason its still so unfinished after the years ive played valheim :p, I am excited to start my next build in the Plains, but I been so obsessed with "finishing" this one
That's why i started doing "free builds" in hammermode (previously would use console commands) when i want to really build something. I get too obsessed with the building and ignore the other parts of the game lol
(the biggest obstacle being that Im trying to follow some sort of realism and add every facility an actual castle/kingdomy thing would have in medieval times)
yeah we only beat Moder yesterday and Ive built all of this, never been to mistlands
my latest build: the Dawn Hill Retreat
I love that tree courtyard thingy
are the pink trees even vanilla?
The mists are different for sure, you'll love them
no, these trees are coming with a mod called "saisonality".
the trees get pink in spring, look normal in summer, get red in authum and white in winter. π
I bet, the exciting thing when doing more of the game is being all woah when unlocking stuff and wanting to go back and build and upgrade the kingdom
That's pretty rad
ok one obligatory post of the great hall in the castle
I think my biggest excitement with starting a new build is being able to put in tons of effort and fine polishing into a single house like how @sacred sluice posted above, with this kingdom its such a macro scale project (even tho i design interiors)
it all starts with 1 house π
i ended once with a hole lagoon in mistland
looks nice at a glance, I wont zoom in cuz I scared of any mistlands spoilers xd
great idea to put a stone floor under the forge!
looks realy like a medival forge hut! π
hahaha, i see!
you will love and hate mistland at the same time!
so did i the first time i entered it π
that is a lot of stone. hard work
how did you get the fish to hang like that?
aww heck yea this is dope do you have a picture of the interiors?
Are the trees mods? Iβm just about to beat bonemass in in love with this game
yes
I built a pyramid now.
It comes with a mod called OdinShip by OdinPlus
intersting consequence of the construction: From above it is a perfect grid of diamonds
potentially one of the "warring castles" Im thinking of building in the area on either side of my suspension bridge. Maybe with the theme being "a battle frozen in time" would be very fun if I could simulate explosions and fire stopped in time, like the end of HL2
More variations of the "best window" I put in tips. Not all are good, but I wanted a pic to compare all offsets.
how much eitr is that spent on gear? π
880 if theyre wearing pants lol
they are
the lean to's in the top left shot are an original feature, i added a little fishing dock
looks very nice though
my own slice of valhalla xD
Awesome build
ah, my old kitchen
These are sick!
Bottom right really pulls it all together. For me.
sink and towel π
Yea. That bit sold it. I know it's a classic tech. But the wooden long shields work perfectly as counter top accessories
it took so long getting that knife to perfectly lay on top of the shield, not too high or too low
Ha I know that struggle. Such a finicky profile
Was not mean tto be like this, was meant to be properly curved. But oh well, it is really hard building in deep water especially when you want a curved build and need a lot of support
the stairs on the right are extremely useful if you fall in which you eventually will, the main stairs are for the ship
base is still wip
i wonder the use of those stairs in the real life, those on the right, cause they always seem to exist on docks
These winding stairs are really nice
illuminati dinner
A secret portal entrance
long hard work in perspective... π½
i don't get how you go from screenshot 2 to 3, i guess it's well hidden π
It's a chair you use to clip through wall
Look at bottom of wall. Armor stand is pointing at the revealed bit of chair
oh yeah, now you say it ^^ reminds me of when I hid chests in multiplayer maps, with only 1 pixel sticking out of the land
litteral first screenshot containing 4x2 walls ?
Lol no, to show someone else a hexagon
Sick village. Are all drauger villages coastal? I like that there's usually a good amount of structures
Idk that they're all coastal, but this one was a small one, only 3 structures but plenty for what i needed, and built my own portalhub. I've come across some not very close to a coast and much larger that i thought about using, but it was a lot more than i needed. This one i found on the coast was perfect for my 2nd survival world.
Looking sweet
No, not all
Hello everyone! Here are some screenshots from my current build that i've been playing on for a good while now, i only have The Queen left to kill and i'm taking my sweet time trying to perfect my village.
Hope you like it!
πΌ
small bathroom πΈ
the tower has many floors and many ideas for them πΌ π
Just a lill roof
I can't decide if this is better or worse, it removed some ugly edges, but also lessened the flower pattern
I like the 2nd one better.
can't very tell the differences, i guess it's better to save instances π
@plain heraldbut the chests can be turned to the narrow side, so you can fit more πΌ
like this π
I have circular this way, i can post images later
πΌ π
I believe that the speed of access to chests and the minimum space taken up is the most functional
idea for the throne πΈ
Secure storage: "Kept under rock and key"
What's the monthly rental on a place like this. Lol
this is my throne P.S. i forgot the key wich hids the hood π
i like to build around rocks, i wish you could build caves in valheim but it seems that would probably require a big rehaul and would change game mechanics a lot.
I would love proper cave building. The large rocks are suffice. Of course picking away at the rock has its own complications. Sections that run vertical blowing out leaving holes
Alternative open air design.
My storage, as promised(looks better ingame), it's inside the big building in this image: #building-screenshots message
My kitchen is on the floor above #building-screenshots message
here's an overview of how big my base is(yellow area still needs to have stuff added to it)
How fancy, storing your stones in chests. Meanwhile I'm just stacking them outside, you can stack up unlimited numbers in one spot (could be a bug
)
WIP house, 1.5x resources on a survival server
Floors
Also WIP gatehouse for our village walls:
Also inside of the tower:
Chain Suspension bridge with yggdrasil motif. Made of only 2 unique building pieces
Custom dungeon entrance, hidden traps, fake back panel wall leading to portal, hidden chests, Custom enviroment π Located in the Black Forest
I've done windows and a roof. So here's a quick chandelier. Was kinda limited, because I wanted it fuel/smokeless, but it turned out fine.
looks great! a year ago I made a "suspension bridge" like that, but without any fancy mod, so it's feasible in vanilla
Great work considering the limitations!
Thanks to whoever it was that posted the idea of doing fort boyard! this was a fun build
Is it possible to see this chandelier from afar, integrated into the decor if you wish, please?
Current normal survival, getting ready to face moder then move to the plains for my real base
very nice!
Updated Scale model map, now with blue oceans instead of brown!
That's a lot of jute lol
Build a scale model map in game with no-map challenge
No-map is truly next level play
Who needs a map when you can zoom out this much! π
Looks like Finland to me
finland mentioned, torilla tavataan! (i know english only sry)
A fellow Finn?
Long way up
need ideas for storage, all my items are scattered around my base in chests and carts..
@echo trellis like this?
that looks really cool! How is it like from the outside?
Its a small part of one of the floors in this building @echo trellis
holy π³
It just happens to be shaped that way in my world π
Really happy with how the centerpiece of this main room came together. A lot of very careful snapping.
@echo trellis here's my current world's storage house+
stock pile for bulk building mats, "dump" aka "to be sorted" area / utility annex, hardware corner, granular storage for seldom-used mats
upstairs is mostly unused at the moment, has some reinforced chests for trophies, old gear, a mini portal hub, and a couple of guest rooms
exterior shots of front and sides. it's gone through a few iterations of being remodeled and added onto etc.
I want share my building
Nothing fancy, just my first ever build
If that roof is all dark wood, it's not going to keep out the rain, unless you're in the mountains, then it's less of an issue. The regular angled beams however do, for whatever reason, keep out rain if overlap is close enough. Even if you were to switch them over, I don't think you'd have 100% coverage.
This is the first 'non-spiraled' design that's around 90% effective that I've been able to make.
Y'all make my builds look like child's play but hey, who cares? Gonna post other stuff later, trying to keep the screenshots grouped by build. This is a ruined village I reclaimed and rebuilt. Name of the tavern comes from the copper deposit that was there (kept the last bit intact under where the "tower" now stands to justify the name, lol)
WIP of our server's Borgund Stave Church. I caved in and downloaded Gizmo for angling pieces.... Still a survival server, but I don't think I can go back to not having Gizmo.
I've worked really hard to get the proportions as close as possible as well
Very old build but I'm quite proud of how it turned out, particularly the gate with the dragon head
Burnfast city
Burnfast wasn't built in a day.. to burnfast. Like the name
what does everyone think is a good height for a dedicated storage room and dedicated portal room
Today is Castel G[***]s, name censored because it's the name of my home IRL and i don't wanna dox myself, lol
Built this yesterday, got inspiration for a Water Temple. This is my first decorative heavy build so i hope its not too badπ . Mods used to build it: OdinArchitect (huge columns, roof and the ceiling), Infinity Build (disables building physics-basically like in minecraft) and Rune Magic (runes that repell water, helped to make a pletau for the columns to stand on). I actually really enjoyed building this, very peaceful :D
Wow! Did you build it in survival or creative ? And how long did it take?
Starting a swamp tower, on a bit of meadow on the shore. Basement first π
the dungeon
Planning on a spooky keep. We will see
Ive always wanted a swamp base, but constant wet and jumping blobs scare me xD
Fires everywhere and make a tree house in the indestructible trees.
Also Iβm building on a meadows outcrop, and raised earth walls taller than blobs can jump
Wraiths are the only thing that can get to me
@tawdry bobcat mind dming me the screenshots of your base ?
My entire base?
yes, put it on an Imgur album and pin it to this channel π
I don't think its a I need it now kinda thing but rather, when you can get to it could you please give us some pics of your base.
for the record, i am off work tomorrow and the weekend, so if anyone wants a tour, let me know. i swear it looks better in game π
It always looks better in game
underwater terraforming pretty much where i want it for now, so i decided to make a thing
What is the average depth if this pond/lake? Can you stand there or swim only?
roughly between 2-6m, swim depth only and lower so the boats don't scrape, also all underwater rocks and logs removed
Why not just making some fairway only? It would be much easier to build and maintain? Just for the aesthetics?
huh?
i asked 'why bother with making swimming depth all over the place? just for the look of it? or other purposes?'
well most of it was already that deep or deeper, i just removed anything that would catch the boats
would have been 3x the job to bring it all up to be walkable depth
shallowest area was around where the bridge is
Do most people use mods to do builds like these? I prefer playing vanilla but I'd like to eventually create something like the pictures in this channel. I had been assuming it could be done with stock tools.
for me its just that i dont like how the pillairs look in vanilla, they are kinda slant. also you cant build that far in the water in base game i think so yeah ig mods are required
sorry, forgot to tag you
All good. Thanks!
Seed channel won't let me post a thread, so here ya go:
SEED: 2cbeCz85ip (All bosses, trader, and so forth on starting isle)
Dang
If you look down at the bottom, above the eC of the seed name, there's a tiny darkwood island in the bay of the southern isle. It's like a minute trip in any direction to reach 4 biomes, and that mountain to the upper right of that spot has a massive flat peak waiting for a mega castle..
Nice
Could do worse for returning to Valheim after 3 years. My main Huntsman character was rendered homeless by the loss of a dedicated server.
Where's the queen π
Not sure, I'm returning after 3 years away so some stuff I don't even know of exists now, and I still have to remember prior whatnots π
This is sick. That starting island shape and that cove with a trader spawn... oh my god. Epic!
I'm a big fan of bays π
Ok, I have way too much to share, so I'll fit them into respective posts.
External view of my new viking mansion. My grandest build so far. I am on hammer mode, and I finished this design in (hammer mode) ~30 hours. The final shot is an encircled tree with a shrine to Woden.
Internal views including architecture and decorations. Still a WIP.
#screenshots message
Finally, midst rebuilding my previous design, hammer mode allowed me to upgrade my Portal Hub β’οΈ with finer materials. Time (in hammer mode): ~1 hour 40 minutes
Much cleaner, looks great
I planned to build a castle on the water, but during construction I realized that the height due to the basement would not be enough : (
Now it will be a cottage with a pier
Locks amazin
Can anyone help me with my layout with this base , Iβm a newer builder and looking for ideas on how to set up this for functionality, itβs my main base , the spawner location has 4 smelters and charcoal kilns under it using it like a chiminey and I have a storage and portal room set up , I believe each one of the rectangles is 20x10 squares
what spawner?
Snowy day, snowy build! This one was lost to a world save bug from some time ago that thankfully got squashed. it started as a rebuilding of a castle ruin I found and it grew from there. Pics are from various stages of construction. The almost floating platforms worked thanks to an ungodly amount of iron support beams. I never rebuilt it, but maybe someday...
I have made a similar design, and I'll post some screenshots.
*Oh no, it didn't the reformat of my computer!
I built mine out of Meadows and Black Forest materials. Firstly, work the land and water to receive struts and foundations that will support the structure. Lay out the shape (I used long Core Wood logs). Use the logs to create the upward boundaries and connect each together to block out the 3D structure.
To fit in the water with structurally sound foundation, continue to use the hoe and the raise earth enough to get the struts to connect with the water's floor. Fill the blocked out sections with your wall of choice, and top them with the roof.
For the boat itself to fit (assuming the Carve), be sure to have enough space. You may even find a semi-dry dock method using downward roof slats as the receptacle, but make it low enough for the boat to easily sail into it and out.
Once all built, you can optionally build two gates between the mouth ends of the (north) edge. This way, it feels more realistic and keeps swimming enemies from reaching your structure from the inside.
Finally, wreathe the dry dock with 26* angle stairs for access out, as the build creates a kind of pit that may be difficult to jump out of without them.
Happy building!
P.S. If you mean your bed (spawner), there should be enough room for that. Your earthbound sides may have to open out to your smelters and kilns, but the portals could very well fit, especially if you take it to a 2nd level. π
@visual quest I have the structure built basically exactly as you said Iβm looking for help for the interior layout
I had just woken up when I read, so I apologize for the building infodump!
I haven't messed with encapsulating a spawner! Is the plan to get that caged off and have a n infinite greydwarf material source?
@visual quest yes, that was the original design around the base ended up taking shape the way it did. Currently I have for smelters and four kilns using that as a chimney and a gray dwarf spawning at the base level of the structure
That's really cool. I might try that someday. π
@visual quest just looking for help on how to best set up the inside for astedics and function
Have you got any screenshots for it?
I can in a few mins if you like out could stream out
Sure I could check it out! Do you have a mic?
Would it be possible to build a bridge over the river without ironwood?
YES
yes
@visual quest just lmk when you want me to cast it
Damn. That was one hell of a bridge. Thanks for sharing that
yeah i made that like 3 years ago π
I'm free now!
ok
In Hugin's
@jade lichen Thank you for sharing your build! I hope all of those tips and tricks make that structure super secure. Hope you found some decoration inspiration as well. π
Small mountain castle
I'm trying to build a huge Castletown, I managed to get the surrounding walls up no problem, but now I'm at a loss for how to make a decent looking castle. Can anyone help?
take a picture of a real castle and build according to the same plan. But do not forget that each ring of castle buildings must rise above the outer ring, that is, the most central building must be tallest πΌ π
you can try something like this plan, just reinforce the walls with iron bars and you can build high, also raise the ground around the center of the castle as high as possible around the perimeter, this will give the structure a foothold and you will have a wonderful dungeon πΊ @wheat quail
@wheat quail the game allows you to build towers of this height πΌ
power grid optimised
why do you need so much? πΈ
gotta have all the comforts of home xD
but it doesn't look aesthetically pleasing πΈ
@narrow prawnWhat about lamp posts? πΌ
usually use them just for street lighting
exactly my thoughts with the waterwheel power station xD
rainy day at the castle, added a kitchen below the porch
forge on other side of wall with chimney chute between them
@narrow prawn
other side of castle
interior where the power "cables" come through, and power my indoor industries
that's dinner sorted xD
I'm going to try this, thanks for the tips!
door for castle corridors πΌ π
howdyou get the ground flat like that?
whenever i level its all lumpy
hoe πΌ
always lumpy when i try lol
@full sierraπΈ
i can't get anything flat lol
@wheat quail an earthen wall of this type will serve as the basis for your central residential tower of the castle, below there will be warehouses, quite spacious, with a secret passage from the castle, and at the top there will be living quarters πΌ
if you can't level the hole, add dirt from above and remove it with a pick, then use a hoe πΊ
base for those who value safety πΉ
From this angle I pickup on the beam of energy you're harnessing. With a faraday cage to contain it. Thanks for your creativity
πΉ π
Wait. Are you envisioning the iron bars as conduit!?
it `s Magic πΈ
Or a bussing of sorts
it goes right into the artisan table, which then distributes it around the base and outside via (assumed) underfloor/ground wiring
Or wireless like Teslas vision.
I see. I dig it
or "magic" xD
Heh modern day electricity is a bit of magic
teslas wireless would be dangerous AF trying to power modern devices
u'd be having flash arcs all over the place
It's protecting paths of potential with synthetic lightning I could never see possible
all it takes is a conductive metal getting too close and it'd arc
Not just that. But magnetic and atmospheric conditions
might of been ok to powera few light bulbs, try running a bunch of air conditioners tho, gonna have to juice it up to extreme danger levels
energy of the gods πΊ
Looking for a new group of builders to make a project with, vanilla and dedicated pls
Think this is too high to snipe Yagluth from? Would he despawn?
annnnnnd I broke the attachment. here it is again lol
bosses dont despawn, but do you know what yagluth does?
Yeah yeah, meteors. I plan on building a platform between all the spires and running across them π
ok
is that a "you dead" ok or a "this might work" ok
that's a "you dead" silence π
imma build an iron wood and stone platform anyways, screenshots and tears to follow π
Good luck!
Very cool! To add even more safety, you can block the entrance and make a portal only access. π
work in progress (staircase is scaffolding)
Last time I took on Yagluth, was in hardcore mode, he wiped out all the spires
Yeah...been worried about that. Built a low rise beneath it to try and use against him first but he might end up doing that anyways π
this is where it's at now lol
May the odds be ever in your favor
My Jotunheim tower over 106m construction
OOOF
yag platform w/ loxpit
Now just build a castle around it and find a new yagluth Spawn location
@visual quest i ended up getting the roof done with only 2 supports
Good on ye!
Planning on recreating Tor gvalch'ca from the Witcher
Jarl's Longwouse with 6 usable froors and tomb
Made an inner sanctum for the mystical arts
w or l
todays buildings
Absolute cinema
I may be able to help. I don't use creative, And I am not REALLY REALLY good, But I still have a good bit of experiance and am willing to help.
But u can do like this above one to two bonfires and u don't need that much space, so u can place this in your house
true, just tryin to be creative, got 2 chests full of wood, i should got beaten the boss but, what i do now is just building for fun lol
U can capture the spawner to get infinity free wood
And do more complicated things without tone of farming
wdym by that
like those mini guys spawner?
damn u are creative
I prefer this compact variant https://youtu.be/hcX1XG99f74?si=9HlVrhvo5nlaowhe

THANK YOU ALL FOR WATCHING!
βββ¦ββ...
imma try tmrw, ik spawn of em, but i must dig a bigg hole under that spawn to get a little safehouse farmer
it can be hard for me, cuz they spawn fast, big guys too
U can find also examples with fugu and wolves or dark magic
They won't spawn if there is no ground open
so i need to block em with walls n thats it
U can use smth like wooden floor to block their spawn, just cover above it
But if u gonna do this you should keep the drops in the chests, or you ll get a bit lags, or u can use obliterator
im watching that vid rn
I think it is the best option cuz stone bonfires(u can find in some videos) will be easily destroyed by mobs, but bronze will never broke(if u play on normal difficult) and this kind of spawner abusing doesn't require so much space as the other ones
Actually u can abuse any of the spawners, except skeleton one(bones now is useless)
If u need to easily upgrade dark magic skill u can also abuse spawners and just go afk
I think their only usage for game is to give the player as many resources as they want, and increase skills like shield one and dark magic one by being in afk
im just gonna try with bonfire
n do more simple, dig a hole
place a wall so they cant attack me, 3 or 4 bonfires down
then its just mini safehouse stuff, chests etc
cuz im not in bronze age rn, so yeah, more simple
Love that bridge
thanks
City of "Adelsdalen" - work in progress
Brunfast - Runeshell - Greenhorn - Mistblade Fort and Haldor Shop
Those are awesome
Wanted to showcase my Stave church.
Inspired by Norwegian stave churches from the late viking age. Mainly Borgund stavechurch.
In the backround of the first image you can see the partially covered ship burial mound just outside the village.
(Oseberg was probably left half buried for a little while)
My new bedroom. made the floor out of tables.
I bet it is literally more comfort with this
Could say you bring a lot to the table
im tabling more design options for now
family friendly ballista
anyone got any Screenshots of a consolidated base layout ?
Define consolidated. Compact and efficient base design?
yes most stuff in a neat consolidated space (least amount ) for like a complete crafting room and such
I manage to stuff nearly everything (minus windmills) in a 11x11 footprint. All essentials under one roof. Neatly placed inside of stone circle
for instance here is the front and back of a chiminey setup im working on for all the smoke crafters
With a monsterspawner incorperated in the middle
You can put most upgrade structures inside your walls. This room is a first draft, but it contains fully upgraded forge, workbench, cauldrons and black forge, in addition to a iron cooking station and the furnaces.
In the walls or in the ground.
I like microhouse challenges, and i saw couple of mind blowing examples of how you can have almost everything on an area under 100 sq m or such
you got any pics ? im super interested
It wasn't made by me, so idk, try to find smth
this one is a late game black marble house, but smth like this
https://youtu.be/BIhrCK7JhMg?si=eI9G9UC2qIPbsaY0
I'm back with another tiny home build. I'm loving the black marble, and the new lighting pieces.
These get more challenging with every new biome, but I still managed to get full comfort, all the crafting stations, and the upgrades in.
Bring on the Ashlands!
The rules:
No digging
Ground floor must be 3x4 standard floor tiles (6x8 meters)
Firep...
This is awesome
A shot of the main "work" area of my current survival base. Crafting stations are just out of frame to the left. Living area is upstairs above the hearth.
The floor took a lot of very careful snapping voodoo.
Looks good. You built this at a stone circle?
Yeah, they were the original supports for the corewood frame this started as back in the early game. It used to be entirely supported by them, like a treehouse.
Well played. Favorite spot to build
Finally got this window the way I wanted it
Now I can't decide which is better
Inside view
the stave-kirke! fabulous, good job man!
if you ever get a chance to visit some of them, take a look up in the rafters -- there is almost always a secret Odin carved into one of the beams... they were forced into christianity, but always worshipped the old gods
great workbench, as it were
I should. DonΒ΄t live to far from the border.
Inspired this.
Probably gonna spam this in a cathedral like room.
I still donβt understand why they donβt make a modded building screenshots channel.
Work of 10 month ( All survival, all vanilla, 0 mods - everything farmed - day 3250 + ).
Castle with 0 iron beam. ( Just walls and raised ground )
no, unfortunately
How many instances π²
50k+
Love it!
I'm speechless
Living up to his name π
Big fan of the layout! Although I'd recommend you to take a look at masonry and take some real walls for reference. Built three quick examples for you.
First example doesn't require you to let go of the snapping function, whereas the later two require you to do so. You can also texture your stone by damaging it.
Obiously, that's kinda hard for round walls.
I love myself some structural 'tegrity
To much trouble with such wall's like you show:
- Pain in ass to repair it.
- Smaller structure pieces = more instances
- That kind of design not appropriate to that place π
But i rly apricate for you recommendation π
Older arena build, instances and amount of fires kept low for better fps while fighting. Vanilla & devcommands.
That's literally colossal nice work
Thanks β€οΈ
Bakery
Also dumping my mountain entrance here. Posted the statue here in the past. It's now guarding the path to a mountain peak's church. Vanilla & devcommands
Not perfect, but I'ma use this for a sauna stove.
- Bottom half is versatile, here's another use, although this one was made in 2min and is kinda uggly
Update on new hood π
Having insane structural issues in the most random spots and no idea how to fix them lol
Maybe I shouldn't have gone that big on the third built
Oh wow, I love this!
Basic rule is that support is based on the number of connections away from "ground" (blue) level support, and the type of material used. You probably need a central pillar or something of iron wood in some of those walls to provide the level of support you need.
What color is that on your signs?
#00FFFF
LOVE THAT STATUE!
Hide wood iron poles as supports behind some other block in the design, they allow you to build up to 21 blocks or something crazy like that.
So for example, build wood iron poles as a frame for the house, then build on top of them normal wooden supports or stonesupports, assuming you don't like the look of wood iron poles/want to hide them behind some other block. You could also just leave them exposed if you like the look
uhm.. the fire is leaking through the bottom of the hearth..
Wow this is amazing, i love it!!!
It's nice but kinda basic isn't it? nothing exciting going on. The walls are bare, not even a tiny window, and the torches are a bit meh . I guess you can't do much about it until you get your hands on better lighting options π‘
As a person who used one every day I'd say 5/10
Eh, fair. Although I'm curious if you have a better design, or just ideas on how to design one.
Tbh I'm not even sure what they should look like. The typical stone barrel that shows on google images is clearly a modern design, and also something I've never come across in Finland.
Mine basicly has the shape of a larger electric stove, but stone instead of metal.
Same mine is an electric box with stones
Btw small updates from the "lower city" ( part after the 1st gate - but before 2nd gate with "Trident Symbol" on it )
Love it
I Havet built yet because Iβm new
My roof top bar
"The Beacon Is Lit... Gondor Calls For Aid!!!"
Did you finally finish it?
Or what is the current progress?
My old stockpile with well and shop in front
The stone piles make them seem like they're part of the foundation which is a cool idea even if it's not intentional π
Odins Betryal Server. WIP. Looking for more builders to help out β€οΈ
Who knows the feeling of being in a state where you know a building is good, but you can't shake the feeling that something is missing?
That's how I felt for the past 3 weeks.
Today I can say: the Dawn Hill Retreat is finally complete.
Version 2 now has all workstations and the kitchen at max level, enough chests to store all the stuff, and a lavishly set feast table.
Furthermore, I played around with the Fire-Spread mod a bit and made some elements black.
Check it out and let me know what you think!
https://www.valheimians.com/build/the-chared-dawn-hill-retreat/
mountain house ! made with @vernal wedge
(ignore the strange supports i am still figurin stuff out and we dont have the stonecutter or forge or any metals up here for that matter)
Corner chimney β€οΈβπ₯
I've been done with it since early Dec. TacoGPX has a 20 min video of a tour on YouTube.
Well my congratz man - you finally did it=)
old days
Portal Hub time
meadows-tier builds are some of my favorite builds
how many times did you die falling off while building it
0 feather cape...π€£
the struggle with the bellows had me dying
"A NEW POWER IS RISING!!"
nice little round roof, not perfectly centered.. i blame the dvergrs
thank you :p
back to building the mountain mansion
I really like how this pillar effect looks. Thanks whoever posted it a while ago
mapping it out and damn its going to be a big one
Same, I also love building in the plains
Grand Circular Portal Hub build redone in Darkwood with rest area centered in the middle. This was a build I took from youtube so I'm not taking credit on the original design yet it looked good enough to share π
The pain, realising your floor design is off centered
remodeled my spa.
good idea - but i guess will be useful to put under those carpets, wooden floor, it will remove that problem with open spots
already fixed it - what would you use wooden floors for though?
hide those open spots - where you can see thru the carpets, black marble floor
ah that part... also fixed already but used marble instead. It was regular stone before (the smooth ones), which clipped through.
also altered the design a little
obviously, that round spot in the middle is for kneeling
Rest Now, Traveler... And indulge yourself in the Iron Dragon Inn... (slight nsfw)
i see now. It make sense, and look way better
Bro built public house in valheim π
ahaha a sort of brothel/inn for a server
hell yeah
farmland
Interior of our longhouse
The cribbb
cavern chicken coop
awesome!
Mayor's Villa from Burnfast Town
@real bolt I'm not the other guy, but here's a couple portal hubs I've built previously
Made a mausoleum for all the boss stones :p (modded)
No clue how im gonna build a path heading down
switchbacks
I am cooking something up but god if it isnt gonna take way to much stone
i needa go get geared up for the plains to get some mass mining out of the way but ive intelligently wasted almost 200 iron on building before making iron gear
I just wanna know how many times you've died on that mountain with no iron gear lol that's a whole tier below the silver gear you want to have before going to plains.
I was immediately suspicious of your pic
its a small mountain with a lot of spawn proofing, im used to playing on very hard difficulty where being one shot in the best gear is basically the standard so i havent bothered to upgrade yet. but yes ive had a fair few deaths mostly to wolves sneaking up on me.
I can imagine, when i first started playing i built a small base at the foot of a mountain and was just chopping wood in the meadows and suddenly a wolf came down and killed me and then more or less destroyed all my base items, I had to use eikthyr and my death run to get away and sneak back to grab everything and gtfo.
this run i tamed a pair of wolves before killing eikthyr fun how different first few hours vs several hundred hours in are
nothing is cooler than summoning the elder just for him to be mauled to death in mere seconds
Haha very true
main thing helping me build is mods that expand the stack sizes and carry weight of items, man that was insufferable in my first run of the game
im probably 4000 stone deep at this point
dunno what to do with this lower area, not big enough for a building
A gondola maybe? Or maybe a pergola
maybe, i might just leave it for the time being and building something there when i have a idea of what would make sense
that or maybe just make it a viewing platform since i plan on building quite a bit in that lower region
progress on my main base before a troll destroyed half of it:
I'm starting a new house. I'm a fan of maxing out a fireplaces utility.
I love how compact it is while still having a smelter and kiln.
the length i go to for perfect snapping....
you know i had to give the dvergr tower a twin
cool
I have to battle the ocd urge when my snap points go goofy (I do a lot of circles.) I usually find a way to make free placed peice act as a bandaid.
Thanks
About to start my carrot garden later this evening here
Looking for suggestions on how to improve this compass / directions post i build around the area. I like the design but it feels a bit to basic
Roof is done! Onto windows, then interior.
Second smoke stack is hot tub, btw. Decided to add a sauna.
should've gotten electric heating ;)
Doable. Or we can use infinite Greydwarf power :)
Dear Vikings,
I would like to share my last project i finished yesterday.
Its nice and cozy base inside frost cave.

This is my main base for my solo run lol am heading into mountains age, been wanting to build a bigger base to accomedate all the station but idk where to begin or what style of the base i want so ig i will stick with this for now, many of the styish build piece dont unlock till plains anyways
This was originally a copper deposit with a ruined stone structure no roof there, at the start i just put my work bench and a roof over it for rested and storing the metals but then i figured why dont i just smelt the metal as i am mining out the copper deposit and slowly it turned to whatever this is lmao
Windows were easier to install than I thought they would be.
Is this in vanilla or moddedm
This page is supposed to be for vanilla, #mods-screenshots for modded buildings, but citans build looks quite vanilla to me if that's what you were asking
Obviusly not a working mill.
But i got inspired.
This type with the horizontal blades for the water wheel is called a Skvaltkvarn (Kvarn beeing Mill) in Swedish.
They were typically used in small streams or on the side of bigger rivers and without damming.
Normally used in spring on the spring flood when the water was a bit higher or during autumn when the rains come.
Smallscale homesteading needs.
Might fit you needs if anyone just want something that looks like a mill for your base π
Timber cabin because Sweden.
Used the big round marble pillar for a millstone. Stacking two didnΒ΄t look good imo. but you do you.
Chest for your grain and a log to sit and wait for the flour to grind and enjoy some spring sun π
Whow. Aesthetics are off the charts
rate my first house
pretty nifty
Pretty proud of it. No mods, survival, no cheating. What do you think of it? If u want to see the interior, ask and then I'll do some ss
interior pls, need ideas xd
I like the custom wall, like a lot. Also impressive scale.
Very nice, how many hours?
I have total of 342 h, but on this world I have lie 530 days, so dont know the exact number
So here is the front of the base, general entrance, lox pen, farming area, cozy little area to chill and the stairs down to the chickencoop
After the entrance, there are my armor sets, the kitchen with the connection to the cozy area outside, storage room. At the end I got 4 ways, to left is the sleeping area, forward is the great hall and to the right the forge and crafting
Here is the smelting and worplace area. I personally love that my magic room I had in mind while doing the build, everything has it's place
And to the great hall, I chose to make it the display of the base, It has great view outside, small corridor leading to the black marble portal hub ( The giant thing ), on the outside there is my favourite build - the lantern with the build-in fish pond. On to the sleeping area, it's just simple for me, maybe will upragde it after the ashlands. The outside is a farming ground and more view to the second entrance and portal hub
On to the backyard, as I said, the lighthouse is my favourite, everything is connected with the hub via the shore route.
Here is some hard mined marble portal hub, general tip for the name tags - use <#FF9900> for the portal like orange
And on to the last - the port! Here are mine boar and wolf pens, and the boat station, I had some trouble doing it but I think it came out nicely! The last building is the chickencoop, the empty area behind it is where is envison the ashlands build. Thanks for watching, reading or both! I hope you got some inspiration although I don't think I am much of a good builder
Iβm new to the game what material is that roof ?
Tar & wood
Thank you
so many amazing screenshots
It never getβs old to scroll through this channel π₯°
absolutely in love with those lookout towers
The decorative use of corewood beams is an aesthetic I've not seen. I dig it
Like this a lot. Those vertical core logs are very neat ! Aren't they gonna be damaged by rain ?
Ye they will, can always mod that out tho π it still looks good when they are weathered imo
Definitely gives character
I did the same but after each rain it took a long time to fix it xD soo skiped idea
Super cozy feeling little hut i did
Part of an ongoing personal project of a dvergr mountain kingdom. The first bridge of many connecting to the ascension to the peak.
Old New Place.. i remodeled my first Base into Farm since i got myself new base in Pains
???? since when can you put stone on core wood
since it's a hardwood π€·ββοΈ
Knock, knock, knock on wood.
u can since long ago but not too much tho.. still for larger structure u have to use iron-wood to support it
@lavish agate
Small update of lower city
nice bridge
Fish market for all these evasive troll fish π
what's the name of this masterpiece?
Idk I donβt name my builds
really great setting!
i like the way you integrated your build in the landscape
π
Not that happy with it, but it's something.
Creative. I'm sure more will develop from it. Never stop
Found Hildir, building her a little 2 story house
looks sick to me
still working out the design but being this tall it's getting sketchy
Progress on the second bridge(the upper), ascending steadily towards the peak.
Hildirs House (I'll eventually decorate it)
Just finished this today, took me 4 days and i havent even begun the interior
Windows and doors done. On to interior.
looks very nice! π
Roof borders are very creative. Good tip
I was going for a unique non-uniform silhouette across the roof so the bordering came naturally.
Oh I love this!!!
Found a nice 5 building draugr village on the shore, built a tower to snipe some of the body piles and draugr from, gonna make this my base of operations for a while
First architectural checkpoint for my mountain fortress' Pantheon.
Nothing impressive, but I'm happy with my lil forest mining cabin π
Makes it look like a hunting lodge.
Not really my jam but i just got caught up on ShΕgun and got a bit inspired.
Might fit someone elses village.
Especially you guys that use that cherry blossom/pink tree mod. π
IΒ΄m sure it can be massively improved but hereΒ΄s my Japanese inspired temple.
I haven't taken many screenshots, but here is a larger build of mine. Basically two fortified ports on the same island. I built this as a huge hidden object map to play with friends. I can post some more details of it some time if anyone is interested.
Nice Bro!
Got rid of the building in the middle and fixed up the large building to be a kitchen for when i get moved in
Just thought I would share my castle on top of the Mountain. I had to write my name in the snow too.
A few more.
a nice idea
Pretty sure nothing will get to you.
Would have been cool with a working trapdoor if that were in the game!
.. some people man
It's one of my first creations on the first server my friends and I played on, we named it "The Watchtower" and it was the only safe place to stay AFK while the others raided.
This was 2 years ago... since then I have built a lot more.
The first capital city I build
Headed into the Mistlands, needed a proper wizard hut for our homestead
Progress of the dvergr kingdom: first watchtower.
Tower base will be in the front.
Cheeky Pre-mountain fort
Odin's Pantheon.
Serves as a portal hub, Map room and soon a place to hang all the boss trophies.
I just realized I've never shown the back of my new house. Almost done with the interior, btw.
Maybe it would be better without bars on the windows? πΊ
I like the paned look of it myself
This side is waay better lol
Or maybe I just missed the latest update of the front
new house
It's pretty.
My port
Kinda winged going for a boat unloading thingy, turned out a little bulky but still decent, any tips on improving are welcome :)
Dunno what else I would use for the rope other then core logs
love the basically daily updates on the progress :)
First "big" build. Not done yet.
Big fancy houses are nice, but what about a good ol' fashioned R O A D
First of several dvergr towers completed, based on the original designs.
a small entrance I made, pretty proud of it
btw ty for idea - i long time have thought about making some kind of such circle, around a fire for relax
This is awesome. Can you post a little more screenshots?
The staircase is pretty awesome
I made a mistake. I thought using iron cages would be a good idea, it just looks worse. I'm just trying to give some texture to the wall and building core wood wall is such a pain in the ass.. but using iron cages isnt any better since it costs so much iron lol. What do you guys think?
In game the one with iron cages looks worse than in the screenshot like when you move around
I'd go with the core wood walls, looks so much better in general
true
Are those armor stand fences?
yyea, half buried
I need to try that in some of my builds it looks nice.
also thank god i made a save before deleting half of the core wall, I never want to go through the pain of placing so many doors again just to build a wall lol
They really need snapping points on vertical logs it makes things so much harder without it
too expensive and doesn't look as good as the corewood
Tasty mead. Shaken, not stirred.
Some wip
Just finished building / terraforming and work on the farm for my fort. Yes it has a anti troll ditch and I use the mod plant everything to do that on my hardcore run with some friends. I thought of sharing this work art.
oh nice - using armor stands like a fence π
A PvP Ice Arena I made on Jotunheim.
It's not much, only cost around 700 iron nails and twice that amount of fine wood π₯²
did you build it in vanilla?
of course
i'm not talking about cost - just entire idea=)
Just clear the crypt and disturb the birches a little)
currently in the process of building a slaughterhouse next to it
Bet nobody can guess what's inside the slaughterhouse :P
draugrs
this was their village
The door is open... I'm guessing there's nothing in there, they've all escaped π
My skycastle I did a while back, figured I'd post it
dreidel, dreidel, dreidel...
Oh tell me why
Do we build castles in the sky
Tried my hand at a temple style build.
Early morning light.
sausage factory
Oh, they're in there. I've confined them in a cage, it's quite a humane slaughterhouse, see:
Very clever
slightly too high if they are still aggroing in there
another layer of iron beams beneath the one there should fix that
Time to build a wall. This is gonna take a while...
Doesn't matter, they aggro every time they spawn because I buried the body pile underground, so they come out with half their body in the ground and they spot me before they pop back up π
A simple build for sure, but made a watchtower for my current playthrough
And how are you going to shoot those who come under the walls? πΊ
I make a special protruding gallery so that there are no zones that cannot be shot through πΌπ
if they're willing to come that close to the watchtower, I have a silver sword with their name on it
Also an option πΈ
At the end of the day, it's a watch tower. Nothing of import is inside of it, and it's a bit of a ways away from the main building
It's just that I'm a little fond of fortification, and I think in this direction, I try to make buildings with the maximum defensive component, but there's nothing wrong with just a watchtower πΌπ
mine don't
I'm in the flow - i love this game
soo cool!
Added on a small work space off the kitchen, made a stonecutter and zooted up my dock a little bit
vnice building style, just a few things: cover those exposed iron beams!! even regular wood will do the job, but corewood or darkwood also works, also ctrl+f3 if you play on keyboard to hide the UI when taking shots (p.sure you can do this on xbox as well), and you can hide yr character nearby and use commands to take shots without it in if you want as well ||for this you want devcommands-freefly||
I didn't know ctrl f3 function thank you!! This build isn't my own just redone in marble but yes I need to do more work hehe thank you again!
really just small deets in an otherwise great build
First attempt at a dome. Well, octogon, really.
before and after I got my stonecutter (oops slow posting is on)
(The stairs were just scaffolding hehe)
I'm always too scared to go into the swamp so getting iron for my stonecutter was hell lmao
The swamp is much scarier in bronze armor

my Tower was first locking bad I needed to fix something
Looks like you're trying to send an SOS transmission to Midgard
looks cool though
reaching Midgard from the 10 Realm is hard i think i need more of them to get it running
reminder that you can use trees as free full supports for building XD so tree houses are a viable option
Upgraded my storage shed, finally put in a hearth, and redid the roof of my dock in 45Β° pieces for more height and extended it out 8m. At the very limits of what the core wood can do so high up there in the front.
@sage wraith @forest maple 1- Forge compound 2- docks 3- road start 4- road continued + entrance gate 5 - portal hub exterior ...
6- portal hub interior 7- farms! 8- watchtower 9- main steps 10- the main building
11- front gardens 12- BEES 13- inner gardenx2 14- craftings 15- hearth + storage and mead shelves
16- The courtyard gardens 17- portal hub "reception" 18- roomx2 19- balcony connecting the rooms 20- the gatehouse view. Done.
daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaammmmnnn how long did that take?? Now I'm afraid of what your post-plains base looks like
Everything looks amazing. I love the detail, and somehow the front gardens just tickle my brain right
Looks really nice!
Haha, the actual compound won't be changing. This is a "forever" base. I'll just be changing basic decor to darkwood accents, tar roofs, etc. Probably nothing with black marble because it would throw off the aethetic
Just curious, did you use the plant everything mod?
Yeah, it's the only mod I ever run
Nice! Thatβs one I want to try out some day.
Game just feels weird without it
I like your toll road the most;) it's a cool concept
thanks! It was sponsored by the sheer frustration of not being able to cart a full load of iron from the docks LOL
So we cut the load in half, each person got half a carts worth and we raced up the road lol
A deer in the 20th picture: is waiting for a car to appear to jump in front of it
Oh, that's Jeff. He's pretty chill, just don't let him see you farming
sorry not sorry
drakes invading plains?
Galdr Tower of Doom - Valheim Raft server
Its a trash build compared to to all your builds but still pretty proud if it
The main thing is that you like it
Nice build and in my opinion all players build wath like
this is my house simple and functional
Looks great brother
ty
@shut grailif you want i can jump in a chanel and strem to give u a tour of the inside also
Maybe some other time brother, maybe in 5 hours? Im not home at the moment
Im looking forward to seeing it
nice, I'm always a fan of mixing stone with stake walls
That is amazing!! Gonna steal some ideas π
I need roof ideas for this
Either you go elven smiths and make 3 seperate ones or go Sauron and do one roof to cover them all.
My small town is gowing I just added this tower and now it looks like this
How did you do the windows
back to work on my mountain mansion - back to work on the small garden areas
just realised how huge it is compared the mountain itself lol
added some details, still dont know what roof design to put on it...
I need roof ideas for this...
maybe try this on larger scale like the 2 outside parts lower roof and the middle one higher with a balcony and 2nd story
That's a good idea
should I add dormer windows on the roofs? and should the overhangs be just half the length of the roof?
idk what would look best but dormer windows would be fine i guess
should the overhangs be just half instead of a whole roof piece?
half piece overhangs look better but are trickier to work with
i know how to do them I just need opinions on what would look better because im undecisive
it's all preference tbh, no overhang, full tile overhang, half tile overhang, it's really whatever you feel is best at the time
try them out and alter it if you don't like the look
the pic i posted there was to give ideas on how roofing can be crossed over and even dipped in with a T or similar structure
thanks
I agreed - it's to small
oh damn yeah, building a full fledge castle!
This is your building, experiment! Try different options and find what you like
Might be wild, but you could do like a tall second floor?
yeah thats good
*third floor technically I suppose
This is my gate for my new elven base named:Avenhelm
I should be done building Avenhelm in about a month of constant building
Raise it a meter higher, and do something similar as the sides
Alright ill do that
this fog will always be here right , so i can just make the flooring of my place here and it wont be visible
should just about cover it by the looks
you might want 2 floor tiles high if you don't want to see it at all
Just whanted to share what i did on server with friends
Btw - if you interesting here is link with video tour https://www.reddit.com/r/valheim/comments/1bog7hc/trident_castle_work_of_11_mounth_valheimbotm_some/
I've finished building my house. It ain't much but I love how it turned out.
Glad to see that middle section turned out well!
Thank you for contributing ideas. β€οΈ
Looks great!
now you just need to build a portal tower
Will add that to my list! I might use those sealed towers for foundation!
Looks great!
You know you can enable dev commands and use the freefly command to grab screenshots. It's not cheating! Despite the name it doesn't let your character fly, it just lets you move your camera freely
What about the stern Viking against the background of the house?π
Took a year or so out but I just downloaded again I think I might try to finish off my big project, here are some of the old screenshots, as you can see I'm only about 33% done, or less if you count the inside decoration
Thing is, I'm not sure if I like it enough to continue, but it also took me a long time to get to this point even with console commands so I'll try it for a while
and I still really like my mini cathedral
Wait for the Ashlands, which is coming soonβ’, there will be 50 additional building pieces
By soonβ’ I mean there are still 3 months to go until Ashlands, but who knows it might arrive soonerβ’
I would sincerely love some more building pieces
Flying above Forest
"Skeleton were surprised!"
which window ?
I'm talking about the first oic you sent, the house on the left side
do you mean because it is 3m and i got a beam at 1.5m
you could do some overhangs at this roof windows or a spike peak at the end of the roofs like this
No like how did you make that window look curved
....... im gonna need more stone haha
are you going to cover the foundation with wood flooring? if so, you can remove all of the interior non-load-bearing stone pieces and no one but you will ever know they aren't there π
i wanna try to keep the bottom floor all stone :) maybe second floor aswell we'll see
then get to pickin'
Lotsa rocks on the hill in the background there, easy peasy π Grab a cart and go to town.
i got portals to some crazy crazy plains :) like 15 pillars in one area
The pillars don't drop as much rock as I would think they should, I find them lackluster for actual stone supply. I love them for a base to build on, though π
truuue maybe i should just go to a mistlands i finished off
That reminds me, I need to try drwarfheim one of these days, dig into some Mistlands rock and make a base there...
max dig depth hits fast than you'd think
But they're large rocks, they're not ground depth. You can dig through the rocks π I do that with the pillars on the plains as well, carve out large rooms in them as I build a staircase up around the outside.
That's a cool idea
i think this is big enough :D
gonna have to wait and see and experiment a lot to see if i can make second floor stone.. stability is complex, only willing to have 2 rows of pillars inside
Are you planning it, so as to not use iron beams?
Canβt wait to see how it turns out!
i always wing it and it turns out better than i hope :) we'll see
I feel that
it's how most of my builds have been aside from my stone castle i built a few months back, which i had a basic idea of how i wanted it to be. It turned out pretty good too imo lol
imagine typing skΓ₯l as skol in the emote name
Hey noob to alotta things in valheim Iβm just making it to mistlands anyway how do yall get these birds eye view shots and stuff
stand on tall stuff, or use cheats
Yup, either make a pillar to stand on, or you can use a devcommand called freefly to take control of the camera and get good angles/better angles than you can with your character/head in the way
Sickkk thanks bro
Prefer not to cheat but maybe prolly just stand on tall stuff lol
I really like how you broke up the wall and have some depth to it!
@red locust You can raise the ground in the corners and camouflage it with stone, this will give an extra stone floor πΌ
IM HYPED @woeful pumice also good idea i might need the extra stability
@red locust I did something similar, with no supports at all, but I don't remember how wide it was, I'll go into the game and see if it was πΌ
The console is turned on with the f5 button, Enter commands: devcommands, debugmode, freefly. Take screenshots and disable commands in reverse order
After entering each command, press Enter
Sick
Does it effect anything cause it warns me itβs not suggested
only spawning in permanent objects is really risky, and yr not gonna be doing that
also once yr in freefly, ctrl+f3 hides the UI as normal
How do I free fly after I enter it
press f5 again to close the command window and the camera should be free flying
just the normal controls for movement, wasd, ctrl to descend, space to ascend
Huh i must be doing something wrong lol
also in the commands window, if you type in lodbias 1000, you can get more than usual to render in for the shot
Oh whale π³ I got a decent shot for wht i wanted Iβll keep trying tho lol
Freefly, one word not 2
the lodbias tip will help your shots too Fukov
why make the ceiling of that stone?
would of made that out of wood to be fair unless that was a basement design
i just wish my fish would stop tryna jump out lmao
the moat is full of pufferfish to poison any enemies that fall inπ€£
Why the windmills on the chimney?
Good to know, I'll give it a try
oh they are placed specifically so that when i go thro the portal in the kitchen it takes me up to them and the flour drops down into a little chute that pops the bags into the kitchen
Nice!!
I have a few ideas that might be useful to you πΌ π
Cause the entire building is going to be waaay larger :) i like the look of a stone bottom floor
Nice!
Also might replace the core wood i put in with darkwood :)
New base or just a build?
Might have to be my new base, question is only if i have the patience to move my storage lol. + all the metals an stuff u cant tp with
Keep posting updates. I like watching builds progress and yours looks like it is going to be amazing.
β€οΈ
I only have a mini shack built right now but I want to make a main base later.
we built a tavern on the forest/mountain border π
made something similar to that xD but on a large scale
ive been mostly using them around the edges of my portals in my portal room for accents but god damn they make a nice window too
not easy to set up but what do you guys think of this?
looks really cool but wouldnt it be annoying to walk on?
Beautiful, I suggest making the gaps betewwn the stones grass
it's kinda like that bridge where mobs can't get across because of the gap, but you and your cart can move smoothly over it. So I suppose this is a mob-proof path
I tried this out initially but the grass blades poke through the stone as well :<
Damn would be cool though
started building a Big wall
also good bat swatters
I do something similar with wood beams on dirt paths. makes it look like planks laid down for traction
certainly getting somewhere... but no idea where though LOL
that place is familiar lol
hahaha yeah.... it do be like that. Stub island
oh can I see it?
That looks great!
Forgot to take a picture but me and a friend is trying to make a man-made river system
Just remember the 8m dig limit... Valheim's terrain and water system isn't super amenable to that kind of earthworks most of the time.
ahhhh damn it π¦ Ive already dug like half of it, but not deep enough so water can reach
At least you know now π Terrain in the game can only be raised or lowered up to 8m from where it started.

weird alignment bug
i think that's just the slight imperfections of the models themselves to give them detail? like wooden walls and floors are slightly bent and misaligned and not perfectly straight
if you hold Ctrl with an item selected you can see how it will warp when placed to create variance
the points will still be "snapped" to each other, but the model itself will skew slightly so that not every instance in the game looks identical
I feel this is just an issue with when pieces are rotated. If they are rotated the same way then these imperfections will line up with one another properly. If they are not rotated the same way, the imperfections will be mismatched and not line up together.
You can see similar issues with 1x1 wood floor pieces. If you alternate them rotated 180 degrees at a time, there are noticeable gaps, offsets, etc. between each piece. If they are rotated the same way, they all mesh together really well.
π
lol yeah i know but stuff can be interesting without always being symmetrical π
Try turning off tesselation to reduce some of that? But it's intentional.
You could place another layer of walls in front of that
wont be perfect..
perfect is boring
hold shift and place the wood just in front of the stone enough that it doesn't clip through
Embrace the imperfections!
variation is what makes things look unique and human-made
I shift place so much shit in my builds to make things work, and you'd never know just walking through and looking around at everything
you'd be too busy asking "how did you do that?" lol
this'll work.. i will just accept that stone is visible.. now, stairs.
@lavish agate yeah my best ideas come from just rotating stuff, placing it, and getting ideas, making everyting mirrored and right angle'd gets boring imo
I shoot for asymmetry as much as makes sense in the build. things end up looking much more interesting to me π»
started to rain.. gonna have a looooot of repairing to do after i finish my build lol
Heck that's a lot of work to do, but wasn't the trenches supposed to be before the wall? Like _trench_/-| WALL | (villa/home/houses) | WALL | _trench_/ ?
Trench was made way way way before I started building that wall so yk
OOhhh, I get it... I wasted a lot of stone covering mine, but mine was also thinner. So still doable, yet it made a lot difference when bulding my outerwalls
