mighty lion
#

ah ok i see

steel mica
#

My hours will probably double once 1.0 drops

#

Currently still sitting at 881hours and waiting patiently for the last major update ๐Ÿฅบ

#

I have ALOT in mind on what to do,but that will have to wait till 1.0 releases Rocky

balmy seal
#

I remember the good olde days when games were released complete. No updates at all.

steel mica
#

Excitement, especially for a game's final major update

#

You get the feel of "Oh shit, were actually here, the last biome."

balmy seal
#

And the sadness

steel mica
#

That aswell

#

But still that journey of it all is so worth it

#

A lot rage inducing moments, satisfying moments, and most importantly memorable moments

open bolt
#

Releasing a finished game often means it will have many bugs and glitches that will only be discovered as we play.
Releasing early access means they have more room to fix glitches and bugs as we play, so we basically help to fix the game before the oficial release. Which isn't bad.

steel mica
#

If I had the ability to remove all memory of me ever playing or knowing about valheim and re-expirence it, I honestly would do it

balmy seal
#

Maybe Elden Ring as well

steel mica
#

In fact I did a quick run of it again like a month ago

open bolt
balmy seal
#

Do it. And don't look up anything online, it's best figured out while playing.

steel mica
#

But yes experience it without knowledge

open bolt
#

Got it ^^

steel mica
#

You will probably get ptsd from a certain... encounter

balmy seal
#

I love the random curve ball the game throws at you about midway in. You think you've figured out what it's about and then "wtf was that??"

granite grail
#

Is it actually an adventure game or a horror game? (Subnautica)

steel mica
#

:))

#

But more specifically its a survival game

balmy seal
#

Very subtle horror, if you could call it that. There was a couple of instances I found genuinely disturbing.

open bolt
#

I heard it's like "alien" stuff but with underwater exploration, or something...

steel mica
balmy seal
#

But the sense of isolation and exploration is second to none. I love games that make me feel alone in a big world, and Subnautica excels at this.

steel mica
#

big bases can feel quite empty

open bolt
#

Oh, it actually has a discount on steam rn ๐Ÿ‘€
And I don't work this friday... longer weeked... so I might buy it.

balmy seal
#

Exploration sure, but I don't get much of a sense of isolation with Valheim.

steel mica
#

You're bound to encounter something

balmy seal
steel mica
#

Subnautica does NOT

#

You have no idea what might be in the dark waters

#

That was me for my first time playing

open bolt
steel mica
#

I feel bad for those with thallasaphoba ๐Ÿ˜ญ

balmy seal
steel mica
#

portals help a lot Rocky

open bolt
steel mica
#

But yeah I do feel you with Subnautica feeling bigger

balmy seal
#

Fast travel is one thing I don't like in games, but I understand the necessity. I used to fast travel in Skyrim all the time until I did a playthrough without it. I was missing out on so much stuff. And the world felt bigger too which I liked.

steel mica
#

Looking at it, it looks smalls

balmy seal
#

It's not huge, but it has depth

steel mica
#

But actually getting into it... yeah whole different experience

granite grail
#

Y'all are making me so curious this game keeps popping up in conversations in my life lol

balmy seal
#

Get it

open bolt
#

I see ๐Ÿ‘€

balmy seal
#

Thank me later

steel mica
#

A phenomenal game just like valheim

#

especially if you like survival games

steel mica
granite grail
#

I don't knowww I don't mind shocks or jumps scares but I'm not for something that is intentionally an oppressive atmosphere

balmy seal
#

No atmosphere underwater

pliant hatch
#

There's some presure you need to deal with, though.

granite grail
#

I love chat sometimes ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚

steel mica
#

The closest jumpscare we can get to valheim is a troll and a goddamn bear

open bolt
steel mica
steel mica
granite grail
open bolt
#

Or seeker in the mist. They usually make a noise when they aggro, but sometimes they don't, so they get me by surprise.

barren gyro
open bolt
#

Yeah xD

granite grail
steel mica
#

The big tree for jumspcares in valheim (literally big lol)
Trolls
Bears
Lox

pliant hatch
#

I think ticks are worse. You run by something in the mist and all the sudden one jumps on your back and start sucking your HP down.
A normal one is something you can deal with. But a 2 โญ.....

barren gyro
#

I always hear hares and think its the seekers.

#

Its a weird chirping sound they make

granite grail
#

How do u get jump scared by trolls tho you can see them from a mile away?

open bolt
barren gyro
steel mica
granite grail
#

Huh that's surprising I don't think I've ever not known a troll was there. Maybe 1 time only

pliant hatch
steel mica
#

Mind you SNEAKING behind you not infront of you

dim trellis
#

all it takes is like 4 trees to block your entire view

steel mica
#

Seeing a giant tall ass blue man in front of you will surely alert you

steel mica
#

But combining mining, fighting, or anything that can cover their footsteps gives them the ability to sneak up behind you ๐Ÿ˜ญ

granite grail
#

I always see them on the hills and whatnot when I'm scanning I am always looking in all directions

#

To me they are very obvious ๐Ÿ˜ญ

steel mica
#

I've gotten used to the troll but they still get me from time to time

balmy seal
#

A pity trolls don't launch your character like giants in Skyrim.

steel mica
#

Bears and lox are probably the ones that jumpscared me the most froggi

barren gyro
#

Lure enemies to foreign biomes if possible.

granite grail
#

And bears have the worst reaction times

barren gyro
#

Reap the loot

pliant hatch
#

I think the one that jumpscared me the most is something that goes "Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt

followed by "Shit! I'm dead?"

barren gyro
#

Have you tried any Viles yet? They are very jumpscary

granite grail
barren gyro
balmy seal
#

I was just thinking of Viles. Their screams are genuinely horrifying.

granite grail
barren gyro
#

If you dont have anything silver its a slow fight

steel mica
#

Its not about facing the enemies head on...
its about the fact these enemies dont emit a damn sound as they sneak up on you, lox and bears are the fucking worst

#

If you see them head on YOU WILL BE ALERTED

granite grail
#

Also if anyone wants a vile trophy I can donate one lol

steel mica
#

You're guard is up when you know they're there in front of you so jumpscare is not a thing

pliant hatch
barren gyro
#

Deathsquitos killed me the most I think. My stupidity for not using root harnesk. The times I did id always burn to death from a shaman.

open bolt
steel mica
#

But once they sneak up behind you, its practically game over you're getting jumpscared no doubt

granite grail
balmy seal
#

Easy enough to parry when you're sufficiently leveled

steel mica
#

I have quite sharp ears so I'm able to hear a deathsquito from a mile away

barren gyro
pliant hatch
#

I'm playing since H&H. So I've seen a lot worse.

Still, not as much as those who started playing even before H&H.

steel mica
#

Especially the fact im using earphones and not headphones

granite grail
#

I have only ever not worn root armor so I have never developed more then a mild irritation to deathsquitos XD

barren gyro
#

Fenris is my go too armor

#

Zoomies

balmy seal
#

I tend to skip bronze and iron armors entirely

#

I like being able to move

barren gyro
#

Oh?

steel mica
#

Light armor all the way Rocky

barren gyro
#

Has the ashlands anything like fenris?

#

Ive yet to reach there

steel mica
#

Its a medium set

pliant hatch
#

It has light armor. But not like Fenris

barren gyro
#

Aww. Is fenris good to use there?

granite grail
#

I like wearing the fenris legs. Although the suit will never not look like pajamas to me xD

barren gyro
#

Or youd want more def?

steel mica
open bolt
barren gyro
#

Yeah I like parrying with bucklers

steel mica
#

Otherwise mix and match or go full heavy

barren gyro
#

That feather cape i absolutely adore.

steel mica
#

I play heavy because im a greatsword main

barren gyro
#

I only reached mistlands recently

steel mica
#

Heavy + Magic

#

quite strong

barren gyro
#

Krom

#

Is there more greatswords?

steel mica
#

But with some specialtize

#

You'll know once you get there

barren gyro
#

Ive only got 7 fragments. So im close

steel mica
barren gyro
#

And Ive found her lair its literally on the border of ashlands a bonemaw came along and scared the life out of me upon traveling there. The one time the wind was actually in my favour

steel mica
#

And not for the weak

barren gyro
#

Only like level 25

steel mica
#

Melee against Queen is very doable but it mostly comes down to precise timing

#

and dodge rolling

barren gyro
#

My bow skill is also quite low

#

Friends keep recommending to level it.

steel mica
#

But if you wanna go the masochist way, melee is the way to go

barren gyro
#

Yeah Im not looking forward to it all

steel mica
#

I would not recommend the krom against queen unless you're VERY precise with your timing

barren gyro
#

I've one last infested mine to clear later today

#

Oh no I won't be.

steel mica
#

The Queen does not leave a lot of ample room to get hits

barren gyro
#

I just enjoy it

granite grail
#

The queen was the longest fight for our group of 3. And she is SOO ugly bro xD Moder is beautiful I wish she had the name queen

steel mica
#

So time your hits right

barren gyro
#

Is she a bug?

granite grail
#

The queen seeker

open bolt
steel mica
barren gyro

The matriarch of the seekers

merry pebble
steel mica

So yeah you'll be dealing with the big bad lady

barren gyro
#

Does she summon them to fight against you?

granite grail
#

Also be warned she will constantly spawn swarms of seekers to attack u so be very used to fighting them

barren gyro
#

Or just her?

#

Ffs

steel mica
#

She spawns ads

#

And the room is full of mist

barren gyro
#

I hate the soilders

#

I hate them so much

steel mica
#

So bring wisplight and materials for wisp torches

granite grail
#

No soldiers I think?

steel mica
barren gyro
#

Thank god

steel mica
#

Only seeker and seeker babies

granite grail
#

Real ones know a solider is easier then a seeker ๐Ÿ˜ญ

steel mica
#

But still annoying to deal with

open bolt
steel mica
granite grail
#

Also poison resistant is a good idea

steel mica
steel mica
#

Because I have...

open bolt
granite grail
#

I did the queen fight with my root harnesk ๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜ญ

barren gyro
#

Is root good in mists?

steel mica
#

its good, even in ashlands

barren gyro
#

Oh wow

open bolt
barren gyro
#

Underrated armor

steel mica
#

Even the mist itself lol

barren gyro
#

Does that polearm himnalflf (idk how to spell) the electric one stun enemies?

I'm okay with the mist. I just wish for the purpose of making a clear base area the wisp torches cleared the mist in a radius that went UP. I have an annoying patch thta is hanging above my wisp torches

I love that they got 3 different summaries lol

steel mica
#

Its best to climb up the tall rock formations to get a better view of the landscape, and take general note of which direction the POIs are

barren gyro
#

But there's no like rock shapes that all have like a similar sizes indicating a mine? Other than the abandoned dvergr tower camps

steel mica
barren gyro
#

Like sometimes I'd be jumping rock to rocks looking around and cant see anything

steel mica
#

You'll recognize it once you get on top of rock formations

barren gyro
#

Are they big spikes?

steel mica
#

Yes

#

Bigger than most rock formations in the mistlands

#

So you wont miss them

barren gyro
#

Oh wow

#

I have been missing loads then

steel mica
#

Simply put

#

If you see 3 or more spike formations jutting outwards, its likely an infested mine

barren gyro
#

My friend was like nah you just find them. I was like that's like trying to find a needle in a haystack there must be a way

#

That's great to hear I really appreciate you telling me

steel mica
#

The thing to take note of is to never always be at ground level in mistlands, you're goal here is to find the 2 main POIs, dvergr outposts and infested mine, always be at the top of rock formations to get a better view of your mistlands

open bolt
steel mica
#

Only go down when you're making your way to a different rock formation or to a POI

barren gyro
open bolt
steel mica
#

If you can rush feather cape

#

Best thing to craft early on in mistlands

open bolt
barren gyro
#

Mostly chasing the hares ๐Ÿ˜‚

#

Then running into gjalls and seekers. Ultimately my deaths

steel mica
#

Many complained about mistlands because of well... the mist, that's because "You just aint doin it right!"

open bolt
#

Ground is good/essential for some resources. But maybe not so good for POIs. Unless you are near the sea or in certain areas where there's usually less mist.

barren gyro
#

The jumping potion is also a necessity for the mistlands.

#

I love that so much

open bolt
steel mica
granite grail
#

I thought it was best to always be low bc if you're high you miss everything ๐Ÿ˜ญ I also didn't know the mines had markers xD

open bolt
#

Mistlands and Mountain are the best biomes to lvl up Jump ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜…

steel mica
#

A lot of people hate mistlands to the point some quit because of that biome specifically and I do not blame them

granite grail
#

It's the most beautiful biome tho

barren gyro
#

I wish the wisp cleared more so its easier to see ahead of you

steel mica
#

Mist is such a nuisance but its practically nothing to a lot mistland enjoyers

open bolt
barren gyro
#

I hate sailing in mistlands

#

Cant see anything in front

steel mica
#

Sail the edges

barren gyro
#

Im on xbox cant do any mods

steel mica
#

Sailing IN the mistlands is never a good idea

#

you're bound to get jumped by flying bugs

#

If not a soldier

#

Or worse...

#

The flying tick.

#

๐Ÿ’€

barren gyro
open bolt
# barren gyro I hate sailing in mistlands

I usually find a dvergr port and leave my boat there like forever...
then basically I just move with portals between my base and the important places in the Mistlands.

barren gyro
#

I died several times on the journey

steel mica
#

I hope they fix crossbow level up and add an extra speed for reloading

#

Once level gets higher and higher

barren gyro
# steel mica If not a soldier

Yeah 2 flying seekers came over 1 blue 1 star hit me so hard I fell over board and took 3/4 of my hp and the other then killed me in the water.

open bolt
#

And even for the Ashlands, I don't think you will need all your stuff. Just some essentials.

barren gyro

open bolt

I always mix up blue and purple

steel mica

steel mica

The rest feel common because we just encounter the enemies a lot more meaning more chances for trophy

barren gyro
#

Im trying for the Vile trophy atm

steel mica
#

Compared to something like a vile

quasi night
#

Guys, magic is so fun. I slept on it since Mistlands release because royal jelly was a non-renewable ressource, but now I'm trying it. I just took a 2 star soldier, then 2 gjall at the same time, then an entire fuling camp without sweating. skelly + bubble is so good for tanking

warm sphinx

Serpents and bonemaws are pretty high too

Deer are also 50% because otherwise Eikthyr would be insanely annoying to reach

#

So no they aren't nearly all 5%

placid delta
#

are portals proximity based? say you have 2 connected to 'Home' and you move 100m away and set up 2 portals and name both of them 'Home' (so now there are 4 portals tag set 'Home').. they connect to each other .. is this intended behavior?

tacit crystal
placid delta
#

so the first 2 portals would be considered null?

balmy seal
#

Only one name per connection

tacit crystal
#

If you have first 2 portals with the tag they stay connected to each other and next 2 named the same are connected to each other.

placid delta

tacit crystal

So to farther expand on this ... if 'Home' is set in Meadow and 'Home' is set in BF ... then add a 2nd set 'Home' in swamp and 'Home' in Mountain .. the 2nd set would connect to each other and the 1st set would connect to each other ...

#

Meadow>BF ... Swamp>Mountain ..

balmy seal

Interesting. I hadn't realised you could use the same name. I figured they just wouldn't connect

paper marsh

I thought the gear in mistlands is rather unique and I really liked it. The magic is a bit OP but other than that top notch

I can see disliking the visibility and movement, not for everyone

What do you dislike about the mobs? I kinda like that there's not archers and such hiding behind trees ready to oneshot me from out of nowhere, but that the mobs are more melee oriented and the one ranged mob is huge and glowing and loud to warn you. Plus the fact the seekers can fly somewhat mitigates some forms of cheese

I will say, a lot of people get frustrated with the short range on the wisplight, and I can agree with that.

Personally the mist doesn't really bother me so it's not much of an issue, but the fact that I don't even feel inclined to fight Yag before doing mistlands because the wisplight is a minor QoL increase is a bit sad

Yea I mean those are just for your base/outposts to give some visibility

Or for the queen fight

I like Mistlands.

steel mica

The progression in mistlands is very rewarding because it nullifies the major issue in the biome and in some other biomes aswell movement, back in swamp you dont really have much option other than flattening the ground and having to deal with a -25% stamina regen, dont get me wrong I like the progression in swamp, a lot of nice things in there, huntsman bow, root harnesk, iron, longship, access to stone buildables, but man the progression in mistlands just catapults it to S tier biome for me

The main problem with all the "good advice" is that you need to be young and have fast reflexes to pull all of that off.

You need to be fast and young to pull off dodge-rolling and parrying.

Her attacks have quite a fast cooldown

And I don't have that problem with any other boss.

Fader is a piece of cake compared to the queen.
