Lampposts in the bottom right are a bit
i dont link either haha you reminded me to remove it
coming along but need far more wood
Started a new playthrough, found a nice stream to make a bridge over, need to go get some core wood so i can make it a bit taller so a karve will fit under it though
Jesus the lord be praised
Absolutely love it. Cozy simple but creative builds like this are the best ❤️🔥
Indeed, it's definitely going to be a main base kinda playthrough, it came out quite nice. I usually do multiple bases until the end, but I'm going to develop this one as I progress.
I decided to build a warehouse for the Ashlands' resources. Construction is taking a long time, and I've used up all my marble and iron reserves, but it's worth it. So far, I've only finished the marble foundation and shaped the towers. I've used up all my iron. One tower is 2 meters too low because the top of the cliff is offset, making it less stable. I need to build a latticework of beams inside, but that won't work for me. Oh, and if I hadn't touched the tower's shape, the stability would have been better, but it's just not that interesting.
island building 💆 (no mods)
@faint kindlenice it givs me Mortal Kombat vibes
Thank you, let's see what associations you have when I finish the work😁
It looks good, so obviously modded 😏
You can tell it’s moded based on the snaps to 90 degree angles.
👀
90 degree angles exist in the game, dude.
It was a joke referencing the guy who came in last week obnoxiously insisting a vanilla build was moded based on snap point cardinality.
Whoosh! Right over my head, my bad.
Yeah, there are 16 rotational snap points and he was adamant there are only 8. 😄
hides her Gizmo with 32 snap points
See that would go in #mods-screenshots
It’s such a pain in the rear; half the time my lanterns are like one click off and don’t line up with the wall
Well if your rear didn't have so many snap points, they wouldn't be off 😉
done another 2 floors, a lot of farm 😂
Bro this looks absolutely insane!!! Love it!
The stacked sideways beams next to the stairs.. that's some patience.
I know right haha in our server I try to rush content so I can spend more building. I am aiming to send full island build in 2 weeks.
Thanks😁
I see there's a running joke going on but does the use of Gizmo/Infinity Hammer pics actually enrage people here? I would have thought mods-screenshots was for mods that alter world items, and I came here to post screenshots that include ||up to 256 rotation points and otherworldly snapping|| 😏
256 isn't even a snap point, it's just a smooth rotation!
Enrage is not the right word at all.
But #mods-screenshots is all-inclusive. It is not for "only specific kinds."
This channel is for purely vanilla screenshots, as the devs themselves have stated.
Usually it is just a matter of tagging the person and redirecting, they delete and post in the correct channel. -- No harm, no foul.
Occasionally you get really butthurt modded people who believe they are entitled to post here and do not care what the rules say 🤷♂️
The 64 other degrees in a circle are hurt by you saying they don't matter for smooth rotation 😭
No one liked those other 64 anyway 😛
For when you just need one and you have to go through most of them to get it 😩
More than 64 screenshots channel when
Not sure I can deal with these 64 and under ppl
Isn't this just #mods-screenshots ? As that is the only way to get that many?
Joking
Ah.
My joke wasn’t making fun of gizmodo users. The peeps who build with that do more intricate stuff that is amazing. Categorically, as other people mentioned it should go in the other channel.
My joke was making fun of the really rude person who was wrongfully accusing a vanilla builder of cheating.
it got the right wing now 😏
trying to reach the ocean, but the tide is pretty bad, so can't increase the height of the ground
Got iron, upgraded the bridge first of course
Simple chimney that doesn't get extinquished by rain.
Roll on getting stone foundations🙄 what wooden walls are those?
Corewood log beams stacked on top of each other.
Can the smoke ventilate through that?
Yes it can, you can see smoke coming out in one of those pictures.
I’ve made a base directly outside the swamp, Abominations etc can’t agro from there can they?
Well, abominations are found in their non moving state and emerge from ground when getting close, so very high possibility that they will not aggro unless woken first.
cozy basement mage bedroom
Love it!
What the heck is that thing?? 🙀
||Morgen|| trophy.
That makes way more sense. It looks like an evil toilet seat and my brain couldn’t get past that
Shark jaw toilet ring.
🎶 tooiiiiilettt SHARK! Doo-do, doot do do-do!
-# Please don't tell me that's Baby shark.. 🥲
looks like a very comfortable toilet seat
yeah. 10/10 experience
guys do u have some vid tuto for good endgame bases? because im to stupid to build smth by myself(
Hop on every now and then to just do a little work, i plan on adding a walled off outer town towards the side with the bridge)
Rebuilt the main tower and put a house on it lol
Gonna make the artisan homes etc in the walled of area with the main dock, the manor/deepest inner area, and then more typical villagers living outside the wall with potentially small stake style walls
plains base so far so good I just wish I could move traders in here to simulate some kind of civilization
I use devcommands to spawn in various creatures, such as greylings and dvergr. The ones that aggro I put behind low walls, and I make sure the dvergr can't aggro on anything inside or outside (or they will totally destroy things to get to the enemy 😂)
Dude's bout to throw hands even tho its proven you can build those snaps without mods 😂 Bro's a greyling
anything i should add to make it stand out? (im looking at the cathedal)
its not much but its home
Maybe hang some banners on the inside of the tower windows to a) give a pop of color, and b) mimic stained glass
eh, not supposed to be windows there since thats meant to be the compartment where the bell is hanging and rings
I would use banners, but put them on the outside for colour. Google castle banners and that'll give you some ideas for placement. You can also add lighting on the outer walls.
If that is not much then what is very much?
Very cool building! 🤌
Lol thank you im just trying to sound cool ive spent like 2 months building that house 😂
chillin
This a such a cool build. Very unique(in the best sense of the word) looking building. Great job on the roofing!! Seriously, you're allowed to be proud of this one 🙂
You're not giving yourself enough credit. This looks great and you've put some really nice details into it. 🤌
home sweet home 🥹
Truely a place to call home
Arial view of that plains base I posted earlier
I cant even begin to imagine how many grueling hours that took
well done
My recent build over a troll cave
Love it
Nothing crazy, but the atmosphere in this room was real nice
Inside of my cathedral/front, any recs on decorations beyond what i've already thrown up?
Working on the fort still, currently making a tavern/inn (any alternate ideas more suiting to being in the walls are welcome that use the first and second floor)
My main base from above, there's space for future buildings
Anyone who'd like to recommend what I can add to my base?
Anyone able to give me some inspo on what their crafting stations look like? With all the add ons to the workbench, forge etc I’m struggling to make it look tidy/neat?
You can make shelves to put the add-ons on or some people hide them in the walls so there's less clutter
Looking real good! The workbench space especially. Great detailing.
Damnn bro, these set ups are mint!
Grass?
Rebuilt the bridge to accommodate my longship, and made it to the mistlands and rebuilt the original tower with marble
what should i put in the middle? a farm? a barrack/keep?
Barracks/keep
Keep/communal hall with barracks in the corner towers
Great hall with throne/dining/etc
Cozy tree house
My great hall any tips or criticisms are fully welcome
Your main hold should be in the middle
Hello, my first completed build, maybe someone could give some tips?
The 2m stilts are an interesting choice and probably made stability a bit of a pain in the ass, but otherwise it looks good
Windows would be nice
I have core logs inside 2m stilts, so it was a lil bit easier, thx for tips!
Slow but steady progress
Thinking on this style of tower
wip black forest build :)
Good and cluttered as Loki intended
Does anyone have any portal hub/base inspo? Ideally I need to fit 10-12 portals in the room/building?
Well. If it is just the regular one and not the big one from ashland. I have this simple one:
How did you get the signs so big? Even with my glasses on I struggle seeing the normal horizontal ones🤣
You can take a look at any youtube guide. After I put the sign, once you start to write message input this <color=white><size=40> (any single letter).
Oooo you’re on PC, I don’t suppose you know if you can use command prompts on the Steam Deck
It's not command, its sign text
Ohh as in where you’re actually typing the sign you need to - cheers
Only 2 portals. No more, no less.
The master and the apprentice.
The named and the emergency.
I would imagine it's possible, likely similar to using an xbox controller
Geeeeeee, that’s tanky that is mate, did you struggle with the foundation placement between the trees or was it fine as soon as the iron beams were connected?
Trees are the same as connecting to the ground, so it's totally solid no issues
This is inspirational
Just cause i wanted to make sure i still remembered how to do it, basically start with the inner ring, and then make flower pedals and the inner X's and then extend each pedal tip by 4m on either side (5 iron beams across), then turn back the ends to make the 16 points.
Although i think i made this one a bit bigger than that other one.. yeh the pedals are 4m instead of 2m like the older picture. Same gist though.
So turns out i can't count, somehow if you extend the pedals to 4m you need to do the turn backs, and that creates 32 points, 2m pedals makes the 16 pointed structure and no need for turn backs.
Okay, sorry for the slight spam trying to figure this out still 😅 but i finally figured out how i did it last time. Start with 5 beams, then make 3 turns every 5 beams and eventually it'll create this structure, then work the pedals in from there and fill in the inner circle and X's.
The original way makes the center hole wider, so it probably made doing the spiral stairs easier
accidentally made a death trap
Chicken soup!
Supersized it and made a giant mushroom
Cozy toilet room next to the storage.
I used two item stands for the toilet paper, one with a skeleton trophy, and one with a hammer (to make it look like a toilet roll).
Working on a kitchen for my world (making a building for each station)
Blacksmith was the first of the buildings
What’s everyone’s farms/planting look like? Currently in Mistlands and realising the importance of food buffs, need some help building a good planting station/base
I know some people make their farms on the mistlands-plains border, so they can grow all the crops in the same area
Other then that, just fence it off and buy one of those handles from the Witch trader to make the harvester thing, so you can farm quicker.
Some people place wood beams to direct better how they plant their crops, personally I just make one big flat area and plant them randomly.
Oh and windmills are important
new bild 🔥
WOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!! SO wondetful of a builddd
yeah thanks it took awile but finally finished! if u ned tips lmk!!
new food hall build lookin a little sus
It's been over 2 months since I started building an oriental-themed base on the plains
@small barn @vale needle , behold my Ashlands settlement ❤️🔥
Working on this rotunda kind of thing… not sure how to proceed or if it’s going to be just a simple thing and keep as is
@copper ferry #building-screenshots message
There are better builds, but here's one i built with grausten
Oo sick man thanks
No worries
Looks amazing!
Finally find a time to work on hidden kitchen at my Trident castle. This spot was empty almost 2 years 😅
I like this little dock lift, I saw a brazier chains in YT, than I had to try it.
wowwww
im new to this game im playing with out spoilers but dang the building looks way mroe detailed than i thought
all you need - just put some effort on it, and i bet you can do even better 🤠
Boat is blue, clearly modded 😏😏
Just wanna share my base :) no map no portal chill serv
(it is way too big i use maybe 50% of the surface with all my loot up to plains and cosy interior haha)
Trying out some of that Mistlands biome. Vanilla but with devcommands for mats + fly mode, just building for fun. Work in progress, more to be added.
I decided to upgrade my tower, simpler is before and more detailed after. But I started to wonder: was it better before? Thoughts?
I think the second is better as a lighthouse, rather than a watch tower. But it looks cool
Think I actually like the first one just a little more, it appears taller in comparison which makes more tower-like imo
It is a bit taller.
Made the upgraded one slightly less tall to deal with stability issues.
Because this is the repair menu, and my cursor is on the boat. I use the build camera mod, which only allow to build outside the character's perspective, but all the game content are vanilla.
@hallow epoch
then they change it in last patch
which is good - i gonna put some dendies and thisi on kitchen aswell XD
well done my friend
need more fine wood for the item stands
Time to clear-cut the plains!
Don't worry Sev was just kidding lol
My IslandCastle is finally ready
Added some more stuff to my Mistlands project 🙂
Just a small workshop for some dvergr i found hanging out killing seekers that spawn on a small island nearby
And decided to decorate the dvergr outpost under the queens cave a little
oh forgot this supposed to go here
in a hole in the ground, the lived a- oh, hi bjorn
love the bridge good job
Kudos to you if you know what I'm building. Here's a clue:
"A dining room."
Thank you One Punch Man

You know how I can tell this is vanilla? 😏
Just finished our 140-Day Project...On day 432 we finished our Mountaintop-Castle...it´s been a ride :)
first tree house build
Finished my first house 🙂
any tips?
first meadows main base
ark base type shi
ive always wanted to do this but its so hard to find a good spot for it
Id really recommend it! You can get really cozy spots :3
My Island home
Added some more stuff to my Mistlands project 🙂
Had an actual fairly peaceful landing coming into ashlands this time, put a little workshop for exploring from.. 40 minutes of exploring later i have some asksvin hide and morgen parts and lots of other goods... in tombstone

I demolished my old blacksmith workshop for the new one. Do not know if it was a good idea 🙁
The new one is bit off, but historically accurate
Resident evil.
Yes! The Spencer mansion from Resident Evil Remake. Nice!
I was thinking: where is the statue that's supposed to be in the second floor?
It's up there you just can't see it in the pictures
mini portal tower
Built some upgrades for the manor. Now I just I need those fancy steep roofs for the main tower
My first base with better materials.
some small updates for the kitchen 🥕🍄🟫🍅
finally happy with how it looks
Alright I'm back with a few updates with my plains base and I have finished the roof of my castle complete with a dining area a fully upgraded forge two smelters, Three Blast furnaces and a lookout tower with a very nice view of my plains base. Often I wonder, "am I cooking? Or is this mid?" and at this point I've concluded that is a stupid question because I have poured almost 300 hours into building this base in a game that I have grown to love very much and I cannot even question the integrity of this base because of how much love I have put into it. Whether I view myself as a master architect or not and acknowledge that this doesn't compete with all of the beautiful incredible things I have seen on this server I am still incredibly happy with the progress I have made and how much fun I have had with this game! Thanks if you read all of this I'll catch y'all in my next update on this build
Got tired of dealing with the water damage from my bridge and just the weird layout from my river base, I've built a new house, moved everything to the new one,
Also I plan to build a mess hall with boar pin for meals
Dock house to smelter array turn out pretty ok
So magical!
How much instances here?
All of them lol
Redid my island build!
this type of building looks close to what a real one is
Around 11k but okayish fps (35-70)
Allways my Intention to build with the Terrain, not against them.
The content I was displaying was about building. All my building stuff is 100% vanilla. Hence why I put it here.
The content is modded.
Hence it goes in modded.
Attaching things to the thrones makes for some really cool custom throne designs.
Modded content is modded and goes in #mods-screenshots
ok. Please circle the parts of the above screen shot that are modded 🙂
Sorry to make you look silly... but you didn't see I backed out the modded eliments
I saw. Doesn't stop it from being modded
now don't feel TOO bad for not noticing... just look before you respond next time 🙂
I saw. Before responding. My response remains the same because it is still in the wrong channel.
Ok ok... ease put a red cicle around the moded elements visible in the picture :)lp
Not the point. It is modded. Blacking stuff out doesn't change existence.
Ok so by your warped logic, despite me having no building mods installed I cannot poast my vanilla build in the builds channel because I have a mod that makes me faster on stone?
Hell if I didn't have that mod and posted it you would have no way of even knowing... yet I would still have a handful of mods installed. So do tell... when someone posts a screen shot here how do you check the image for say.... Smooth ladders or items float? DO TELL! Afterall if they have those its a modded screen shot, right?
I'd like to know how you can tell from a screen shit that peole don't have any mods at all... after all there are sevral that simply wouldn't show in a screen shot
It is not my logic. Check the channel description.
I see missed my question. I'll ask again since you didn't see: How do you check if the poster has smooth ladders or items float in water or plant everything with not plants in the picture or any of the other mods that would not be apparent in a cropped screen shot?
I didn't miss. That's not something that can be checked, which you know, so the question was pointless, which you also know.
So I did not dignify it with a reply.
If people wish to knowingly violate rules because they believe themselves above them, that is for their conscience to deal with.
Hmm I think you're mising the spirit of the rule for the letter... I REALLY think the point is to not post builds impossible in vanilla such as builds that ignore build restrictions or used modded matieral. I REALLY don't think they care that an icon is in the top corner. As I have posted builds here before where my player was visible and no one contested me over it...
However to placate you I'll switch to a normal character for further screen shots
It's also odd how hard you are railing against this instead of simply posting in the proper channel 🤷♂️
You can search up the last time the devs got involved in this discussion if you like.
There is no spirit vs. letter debate to be had. They were very clear.
Right to share completely possible in vanilla builds I have to disable all unrelated to building mods for this builds channel.
Kinda tempted to find the most obscure vanilla thing possible and cause people to think its modded XD
Still not sure why this is such a point of friction when it takes so much less effort to just post in the proper channel?
Because I'd rather share here than against builds that DO use modded materials and build mechanics. Lucky for me only one of my characters is a squirrel so I can simply swap to another character and temp disable speedy paths.
Next time just turn off your UI and then no one will see the mod
I wonder if someone with no visible mods ever posted in modded screen shots and was chastised because people thought they didn't have any. XD
Anyway as he said its not, as I can switch characters and turn off my hud to have an unmodded screen shot.
Of course I know full well this more about you wanting to be a moderator here than it is that you are passionate about not seeing small buffs in the corner.
I do not, have never, and will not ever want to be a mod in this server... so no idea how you drew that conclusion.
@quaint zinc no pillar v.s pillar. I just think the transition ends up looking a little smoother
looks good! nice idea with the seeker wings 🙂
Going for a simple training area/sparring arena. Definitly a few more TWIG dummies and not sure what else.
Redid my garden at my main base and my smelting area as well and added a couple little resting areas for decoration and a grausten step path to my garden
if you can, Id add like a little mini like spectators bench XD
Oh~ yeah! awesome idea
a modern home from my defunct (disk died 😭 ) server
the other side of the same home
custom wooden staircase using vanilla only parts
A vanilla survival build on a community server when the Mistlands first came out.. I miss running around the old place
The dome
Glass tower tops
well this is where its going Elkobold .. it is a building and a screenshot, so deal with it
Its clearly modded, you dont have to be salty because you didnt read the rules
the rules say do NOT post modded screenshots or pictures from our Public tests here.
This is not from a Public test.
and of course it is modded .. I said it was.
exactly, the rules say 'do not post modded screenshots'. There's a different channel for those.
are you really going to pick and choose what to read of that sentence? if you read the entire sentence (as they are designed) ... it says from the Public tests.
like, i'll delete it just so donks wont get panties in a wad but if the intent for this is only half of that sentence .. perhaps those 'rules' need to be corrected to read that way.
It's not picking and choosing when the sentence says OR, don't do this OR that. It literally reads that way if you read it.
Glædelig jul.
Merry xmas.
😁
Ngl bro just drop it by this point it's not funny and the argument is not going anywhere
so leave it alone. your comment was not warranted.
Your arguing over something you are in the wrong for your just gonna get in trouble with the mods
so drop it.
this subject ended over 7 hours ago
I'm going for a wizard tower look with a pond and lil forest below it on the inside. Made sure my entrance is facing the the amazing view
🔥🔥🔥
How did you make the flames?
Dyrnwyn sword I'm in creative mode playing around
Ah ok
Another cool alternative lighting is surtling trophies!
Or Brenna trophies.
1/4 Done any guesses?
Sauron?
nope
Zelda?
No no no - Barad-Dur is HERE. That thing - is something else
Is this looking oriental ish
how are you getting that like white paper like material?
Im using the white banners
All deaths from fall damage 😭
Not with a feather cape
Yeah till I got feather cape
Castlevania, Dracula’s castle?! 😳😳😳
Time to add some trees
Not sure where it's going but it'll get there eventually
Didn't like how the staircase ended up, large curves just don't work well, so i changed it. Probably will end up changing the wood structure i put up, idk yet but I'm not really liking that.
could use the marble triangles to make faux stair corners
I might try that
It worked decently for the first 4 steps, but then it was too long on either side so i swapped to 1x1 cubes and the last 2 steps are ashwood 1m beam, looks much better now
Very nice
Very proud of my base I'm on around day 150 currently
I still got three other sides to do
got bored and made a little dual towers I thought would look cool on the plains shore :D
bit of a cooler angle, really tried to experiment with free placed objects and depth on this build. i feel like more often than not i build big squares/rectangles and it started to annoy me hahaha, really proud with how it came out tho :D
love checking out old builds this was when ashlands came out even tho i never really made it there haha
Tried to make a cool portal hub, friend said it looked like an onion🧅
Very cool, but yes onion XD. but also, gonna need WAY more space than that XD
Less onion, more Holy Handgrenade of Antioch
It's like ogres - very oniony. But looks nice. 👍
fire
Silver Pavilion (Ginkaku temple)
Horse Statue
If anyone builds churches, look what I found out.
Time for some more greenery
a little place 4 my boat
what could i put there? i was thinking about a big tree/portal
old versus new dock, much needed upgrade in my opinion. :D
The perfect storm
does it look good?
i need the other arm, i wanna build it like if it was waking up
Just finished the Mayor’s house in my new town. Totally vanilla, How is your new year going?
I have played this game for thousands of hours and Ive cut down probably tens of thousands of trees, never have I EVER had a tree stand straight up after cutting it, but here we are
how are you making the lanterns?
Progress Mistlands.
noted
Had a lot of fun with this build. Mostly proud of the gable window. The circular tower houses all crafting benches/cooking stations, as well as upgrades and a bunch of chests
O ma god. Rate my home! It start base to survive 👉 👈
That looks so damn beautiful
Thank you! Appreciate that a lot
How long did it take u to make that? And your welcome
it was made in survival, and most of the time went to planning layout, but i would say 2-3 days with farming included. Just building took 2 days
Nice I thought it would take longer tho but once it comes to ps5 I might need help building and organizing since I am very horrible with building and organizing
Granted, i have been building a lot, the one before this was a Japanese inspired build hehe, so the timeframe is a bit off for beginners. But if you need help, you can shoot me a message
Ok I will idk when the release date will be for the ps5 version I hope it's soon
How did you make this tower so tall
if you look at the structural calculations for pieces on the valheim wiki you will learn alot of valuable information about the different pieces. not only do they each have a strength calculation, but also a ratio at which they lose that strength in different directions. flametal best for going up, iron beams best for horizontal iirc.
(my method is to typically make the skeleton shape out of iron beams, put flametal beams where any vertical chute/pillar can go, and you should be able to go VERY high)
Oki Got it
probably he built around a tree to achieve that height. The tree is considered ground.
That's possible, or raised ground and spawned rocks. Though you can build pretty high like that with iron like tryveld said. This is like 26m tall and could go much higher with more iron or flametal. The first 8m are based around raised ground though.
Still working on it, but I'm liking how it's coming so far
Cosy indeed
my first workshop, bruned me some good hours 🥲
chilling place with a view at obsidian ⛏️
There's also a boulder behind the camera and then the back wall of the tall square building lol
I feel like it started out strong, and then i got to these pele towers or whatever you wanna call them and while i won't be tearing them down, they are ugly lol but I'm not mad at the gateway, that ended up alright
||still wip||
Stealing that idea for the chests. Brutally efficient
Its a common one lol, people do it like this
Also lets not chat here, this is building screenshots
@violet gyro some shots of my egg farm. 1: top view. Hope this helps!
2: underneath from the back.
this looks almost as cruel as real industrial egg farms.
checked real images... okay, your chicken actually have more moving space.
Yeah I know it's not the same as free range pixels.
What if I told you the Hens don't need to be caged 🤔
How do you get the eggs to go where you want? screenshot it?
Screenshots don't describe it well enough, and I see you don't want to watch a video... I'm looking at building it on a public server for people to visit though
Wait, that was dmanmad that doesn't want to see a video, I'll post in self-promotion at that seems to be the only acceptable location: #self-promotion message
Rust Bases shape!?
I am joking this looks really good you cooked 🍻
spawned in rock_test_destructible and reduce the pile to a fitting size. you cant build that high with any metal, btw vanilla build cause someone tagged wrong channel
Thanks. How do you get the hens onto the beam, if I throw eggs they will fall through or do I cover the floor and then once hens catch then break the beam ?
exactly. I put the beam down under a 1x1 floor for each hen, then when the eggs hatch, the chickens/hens are too big to fall so I remove the floor.
how do you feed them ? I guess my main issue is positioning food close enough so they eat
nvm, was able to have them eat. looks like it's working, thanks
Basement brewery
slowly coming along
that look's allright. But i will continue the city wall to protect harbor
Tavern
The territory is almost completed
''YOU COULD EAT ANOTHER BITE'' My first base in Valheim (Ignore the random stairs, I'm eventually going to create a proper stairset.
Can help me make a port
This roof has just about driven me insane... but I love it ❤️
Added a smithy and some small houses to fill out my mountain village a bit more
Added an out house to the tavern used an idea i saw someone else here do with a couple item stands and a hammer and skull to make a "toilet paper roll"
oven setup
Added a drainage to the tavern outhouse and updated the toilets a bit. Think I'm finally done with this one.
my first building
This should properly be in #mods-screenshots
Figured a screenshot of my building would go in the building screenshots...,
You're correct in that sense, but this channel is for vanilla screenshots only. Check the description.
It’s the punkins and corn that zinged you
I'll delete it and hopefully everyone can get on with their day 🙄
Still nowhere near complete, but for my first home it is looking good.
I'm going to smoothen out the landscape a bit and add more details.
Okay now I'm done with it lol added some coal piles for poo under the outhouse and a cultivator for a muck rake and also added a stone quarry under a big rock
my brand new bakery
work in progress
are screenshots with mods not allowed?
Not in this channel, but there’s another channel for them
oh, sorry
No worries, just helps clear up any confusion players may have
Correct. There's usually someone who tags them with "wrong channel". I am not sure what the polite thing to do is when people post modded shots in here. I think people get distressed when they are tagged "wrong channel" but it's important to not post modded screenshots in here as it is frustrating to those of us who see a thing, get interested and think we've missed something but it turns out there's a mod involved. Also, the UI being modded can make for frustration as well. Not everyone wants to play with mods and there needs to be a specific place for us vanilla people!
greenhouse
Finally got my roof upgraded
Love the way you combined the 45 and 23 roofs for the curvy slope.
Thanks 😊
I don't remember why I did this
Love the village, is this your base ?
Hello,
I would like to share my lates project. Got idea that i could make a somehow base between 2 hills which are connected with Ancient Roots.
Kind of like some bridge between the hills. Each terrasse is like separate room.
Hope you will like it. Later i want to make a video since not all rooms are finished yet.
I mean I like it but how in hell do you manage to find a place like that, and wich isn't completely covered by mist
Forge and kitchen
No it was just something i decided to build in hammermode (free build)
Ooh I've never tried this gamemode
I use it when i just feel like building, it's pretty neat, you can also turn on passive enemies so they won't bother you or your build as well
Yeah but I only play survival
I did for a few playthroughs and then found out how to use devcommands and would use those for the same purpose that the modifiers work for now but i still use the fly command and other some devcommands to make building easier when I'm just building to build
I don't really like building if I haven't earned it, the feeling of sailing a long time and discovering a dope spot, gather the ressources, makings plans so I don't have to redo the whole construction over if I don't like how it goes and making sure it has every necessity to make it a solid base and balancing defense, design and functionability in the same build is my source of dopamine
I can easily understand why some people prefer to build in this construction mode but that's not why I play valheim so I'm not really intrested
I've been working on the Thousand Sunny from One Piece in my vanilla survival world, and the past few days I've been working on the considerably smaller contents of the Soldier Dock System.
So far I've made the paddle wheels, Shiro Mokuba, and Mini Merry, and I'm brainstorming how I'm going to approach the Shark Submerge
I had to tear down the walls of the SDS to build these, but I'm happy with how they turned out at this scale
our smol mountain castle that served as our early game base
(by early I mean it's the first true base we built and we started the construction on day 20
storage in the basement, workshop and kitchen on the 1st floor and then bedrooms and other stuff in the wooden area
its not complete😅
Hub Process so far
I’ve been playing a long time but usually don’t bother with docks, so I decided to make one this time
1-10?
Hey everyone! I made a base for myself and my friends. It's all made of metal and a little tar. I only used "Plant Everything" for the farm; I don't have any other mods installed. The walls, towers, and gates are fully functional; you can walk on them both inside and outside. You can add a lot more to this fort or castle, however you like, but unfortunately, after three months of work, I'm too tired to farm resources. I'd really like to post this for Build of the Month, but unfortunately, you can only upload 10 screenshots, so I'll just leave it here.
If anyone needs a map for their own playthrough without T4, T5, T6, or T7 resources, I'd be happy to share this build with you.
I wrote this with the help of a translator, I hope you understand me, because my English leaves much to be desired 😄
This is an amazing example of how beautiful builds can really be! 10/10
Thank you very much) Okay, I deleted it from that channel.
Main base in progress
little area I made for my crops/chickens :3
Is this made with mods? How did you get the hare skin to sit at an angle like that on the stair railing? I'm thinking of incorporating it into my builds, but don't play with mods. And what is that thing in the third screenshot on the left hand side of the desk, next to the black forge? It looks like an old sewing machine and I love it!
Yup that is a mod, for the rug angle, and some other stuff. But the sewing machine looking thing is an ashlands addon for the black forge if I'm not mistaken.
Yea, this was made with help of some mods, but i wanted to create this with as less mods as possible. I wanted this building to work even if i turn off all mods so i can use it when new major patch will be released cus usually mods are not working for some time until they are updated.
Most of the mods i used were only helping me with command line. For example it helped me to put that ancient roots between rocks with command - hammer.
For that hare skin angle i used gizmo mod.
And that old sewing machine is called i think gem crusher or something its black forge extension.
Thanks!
I have added the Shark Submerge, built up the Soldier Dock walls complete with labeled doors from the central chamber, and as a bonus, here is a full view of how much of the Sunny I've been able to build pre-Elder without commands (besides freefly for the camera) before the structural integrity of the ship starts begging for iron reinforcement
looks very elvish great build, but it also looks like a single gjall will be the death of this xD
I think you could improve the looks of your path even more by grassing some areas of the pathway to make more variation in the pattern, since it changes the rock face back to mountain
Omg! its Beluga! I always thought Beluga was a myth!
Did some testing in creative on how to make a foothold in ashlands. It was stressful even with godmode xD
@solid veldt it's pretty hight was spending a lot of time building it and none came close. 4 balistas on each side would be enough to protect it once it's finished. I didn't want to put them there before I make final screenshots and video of that build.
do a Gjall fight in the video as a finishing up! 😄
still a lot to do but my keep is slowly coming together
(I know I shouldn't use commands on survival but gosh flying for screenshots is so much better, I don't use any other commands tho)
severely work in progress but this is my first major base ever since playing valheim, would appreciate tips on how to improve!
looks really cool at night
Yellow mushrooms in the swamps looks great!
I need so much marble
Managable
Unless you're playing alone, I tend to forget I have 2 slaves subordinates who mine wood, stone, iron and marble for me
I have a buddy who is also mistlands geared but he needs his marble 😁 eventually the other four will be geared and then we’ll take the queen.
Worked on a Log Cabin this evening, lots of fiddling around with 1 meter beams to work around some offsets!
Smoke vent still needs more work but had to stop for tonight.
Updated the fireplace into an exterior stone chimney, opened up alot of room inside. Happy for now with the result, will probably play around with more aesthetic solutions overtime.
Autumnwatch
Located in the southern lands within the confines of Maedhroshold. Autumnwatch was constructed as a southern settlement for the Realm of Rhovanion. Housing a hall, inn, several houses and a dock, it guards the southern seas. Prior to the founding of the settlement, there was once a grand citadel and an abandoned outpost from the los...
Village build, started in October and finally feel like it is share worthy 🙌
don't have anyone else who would understand. just found the Queen and will be headed to the Ashlands soon.
@wary crystal
What windows are those
i have a lot of mods enabled so they might be a mod tbh but theyre apart of “core wood pieces” im pretty sure. ill get back on later after i finish my tattoo and give u the exact name though bro
WIP of a giant stone dock im working on, currently trying to figure out how i want to do railing
using dvergr metal walls with item stands on them as rails around the light fixture but idk if thats the design i wanna go with all around because it's so tedious
Where does the boat..is supplsed to dock ?
Going to build a second stone outcrop on the other side, going around the boat. Grinding the black marble is taking a while so I just did one side for now
Ooh oki I see
I should try to build in the mistlands one day, but gosh I'm not used to that shi
got inspired after mistlands
finished up laying out the whole shape finally. There are no longer Dvergr towers in my local mistlands...
i recently started dipping my toes into building, and i gotta say, the darkwood building peices are awesome
I dont really post much of my builds on here but I thought I would start sharing more to give ppl some inspiration since I use this channel alot for inspiration haha
Medium sized modded medieval kitchen building for a town that I am planning to build in a different server 😛
This can be built pre iron age
I'll be back to build in Valheim soon, I miss it. In the meantime, happy new year to all you little horned helmets around here ❤️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ1b9T7ZcH8
Great North Vanilla build. Description below ↓ Made in game for fun, thanks for watching👍
My shipyard was located on the frontier of the Great North and was unfortunately destroyed by the Ashlands patch: my thoughts go out to all the animals I couldn't save. Many thanks to Karottsama for welcoming me into her world to continue the adventur...
I'm done with my Japanese-themed Island. 14k instances
A compilation of some of the recent builds. All on the same island.
Made a nice place for a Valheim world with friends.
My log cabin atm, always a work in progress as I discover new ways to add depth/details but overall I am really happy how it turned out after fiddling around with 1 meter wood beams to create offsets/depth for the log walls, roof, door and window.
fireplace:)
Still working on moving everything after relocating to the Plains, but how's this storage set up looking?
(There's an identical layout behind me too.)
I call this my Swamp Manor
How did you change the lettering color to white?
<color="white"> and then the text you want
Into the sign, yes.
Once you type the command, it goes blank again, and then the following text will be white.
There's other codes too that you could look up.
make them so much easier to read. Thanks I will
You can also just use hex code for greater color variety. “<#A1B2C3> Core Wood”
You can also <size=x> for font size and \n for a new line
My latest go at a compact, practial Ashlands-tier base under the Elder altar.
Features all maxed crafting stations, full kitchen with fermenter and oven and sleeping area with maxed comfort along with plenty of storage space and lots of portals (including one stone portal).
Built a huge castle
Build i did with a few friends on a public server... @jagged coral has seen it in person.
@waxen sparrow You see all the corewood coming out of the tree?
Streamed some Valheim building yesterday, I think the floor ended up looking really nice 🙂
some shots from my latest survival build
Bronze age survival
I like the raised fermenters
Ill try to get a better picture of them when I get home, below them is a cabinet I built around the butcher table.
My blackforest base right next to Haldor with a frostblob greydwarf farm right in the middle.
Light cube i made with wisp torches
It looks very magical
Bro all this stuff is crazy
Guys which fantastic builds all of you made.. Atm I have no words 🔥
build another skyrim like tavern in the mountains named this one the frosty tankard
i did the best bridge ever
Here be aliens? 👽 😁
Was helping MD with her Victorian manor build with decorating ideas for the nursery. Modeled this after a historic toy and she went with pic #2. Ignore the table lamp in the first pic, vanilla Valheim isn't ready for this stuff...
nice new update - ty for that much fuel at every brazier🤣
waiting for the 1.0
WIP. Will update as I get more done. Hope you enjoy as much as I like to build. 😄 Vanilla game, no build cost. Day 600-ish.
I built a teleport hub on the server for everyone to place portals, and I absolutely love it—it looks amazing!
@pine wolf ?
my shi* got hacked
sry
Small fisherman's cottage i put in my village build, really love how the dock turned out
More from my WIP. I hope you enjoy as much as I like building! This build is on the edge where the water turns red, where we toppled the mighty Fader! Skal!
Here's a thingy i'm building for my partner for valentine's day, we're big on our valheim phase rn so i thought i'd surprise her with something cool c:
This is only half the finished build tho, theres gonna be a big farm house sitting below with fields of barley and such c:
heres another angle during sunset :3
I didn't manage to finish the project by the new year, but I believe it's better late than never😁
I have a very strong "this goes in #mods-screenshots " from some of these shots. 😬
But I am happy you finished your project!
There are no mods here)
(Genuinely asking then)
Is this just, a lot of item stands clipping into each other and rotated?
Yes, there are a few horizontal racks for items, and it takes a little bit of work, but once you understand the concept, it's easy (Through a translator, I don't speak English)
Amazing work!
Thanks)
Very possible in vanilla, I make flower pots like this a lot
Love this, I make a lot of flower arrangements myself, happy to see another person make some. It's very pretty 🥰
@cunning reef great creative placement and great job getting it centered. Now, protect those rocks from ever getting smashed! 🫠
Tysm, i wanna put loxs to protect it but also they might break it so idk 😭😭
@cunning reef those lox are a gamble. I find they break my stuff trying to protect it whenever I've tried them. Let me know what you come up with!
WIP castle build
It's great that the developer has added more items to make flower pots.)
It begins
What's the concept, I'd like to do a little more with the pots, they're kind of boring when empty
I ❤️ Ashvine!
Happy early valheimtines?
Will you be (infested) mine?
Place the pot against the wall, select a wooden post, and find the position where the anchor point is at the top. Move the post along the wall until the top of the post aligns with the top of the pot. Install the post. Remove the pot and install a post in its place, but slightly lower than the top of the pot. This is why we placed the post against the wall. It serves as a height guide. Don't lower it too low, or the pot may not fit. On top of the post that you used in place of the pot, install stands for items, making sure they don't protrude from the sides of the pot. Place several rows on top of each other. Then fill the stands with the desired items, remove the posts, and install the pot. If the pot glows red, the stands are too low and need to be raised slightly. If you're not placing the pot against a wall, you'll need to place a wood and iron post under the stands after installing the pot. This post is thin and doesn't protrude from the sides of the pot. If this is not done, the racks will fall apart, as they have no support and hang in the air.
An impressive building. Great details, as always 🔥
what do you guys think what can I improve
bigger door, u'll be able to frame the upper brick above it, also try some core wood it'll give it some more touch..
u can do a window above the door, to see upcommin guests..
that big window is for smoke to get out
meant like this
like this?
u can also decor it..
Been working on this since 2020, currently 930 in game days have passed. Wanted to share it with others as a finished project. Feedback is welcome:)
Thanks)
an old build of mine
Isn't that modded ?
the humble starting meadows base
My lil starter bases after killing the first boss. It ain't much, but it's getting there
this one is great 👍 it feels authentic and gives cozy vibes. let it evolve over time
our small base in the mountains we build it with my friend without commands it was really hard but also fun(At least getting stone by destroing all Big Stones on the Plains).
Haven't posted in awhile but thought an update was in order. First is an image is posted ages ago
Here's that area now
My new and current ashland base, quite toasty in here
Fun to use a vanilla fortress to install own base
I did something similar recently as well.
Looks like very cool
some screenshots from a build ive put spirit into... its gonna be great!
The shield generator's cover more ground when put in the corners
I also originally put it in the middle but saw there was some unwven parts so I placed it in the middle
I like the way the dock turned out too very rustic looking like a old time scenic look
My dude thats not a base that a Bastion fortess. Worthy of a Jarl.
This is the start of something beautiful, but you should have kept the little pond and added some fish in it
starter base, first of the playtrough
little tour
the exterior of this structure isnt that impressive but im having alot of fun designing the main feast hall
I need some design ideas on how to fill in this top half of the entrance gap. I've been building my portal room/building and this is the only part I've had builders block for. Any builders have any suggestions?
how about just putting a literal portal up there just to symbolize thats where the portals are
why you taking rain damage mf you got a roof over you
LITERALLY DRY PATCH OF LAND WHAT DO YOU MEAN
During rain storms the water levels (btw the water is everywhere under the ground) raise and fall, so likely since the bottom step is underground the water from below is damaging it, not the rain from above. But it will never go below 50% hp just from water damage.
oh my god, that makes sense

oh boy, this is the first time ive ever tried to actually make a cool build. i built this in survival without free crafting before i even beat moder. its in my solo (modded) world, so if i caught any modded stuff in the screenshots, thats my bad. nothing in the castle with modded items, nor was the construction aided with mods. im pretty happy with how it turned out and i now have a base that hopefully will last until i finish the game (well with the mods, i guess ill see). overall, i think this was a good learning experience for me as it helped me get better at building, but nothing made me better than you guys in this discord! seeing all the cool stuff you guys build made me want to try a feeble attempt at it. and while this is an insignificant build compared to some of your guys, im still happy i was able to do it. anyways, do you have any tips for me on how to do better in the future? if so, id love to hear them
Hello everyone ! Its my very first time joining a games discord, and i dont really know if this valheim building channel is okay with mods (only mods for crossing the building limit)
Thanks, but somehow, i feel like guys in the mod-screenshots channel are another type of mod users, like is this channel only vanilla builds ?
My builds are more similar as you guys than the other channel tbh
Okay thanks mate
You have me wondering what the green cape in the other guy's is.
I thought it was just his brightness or something messing with the color on the deer hide cape, but maybe it isn't
Yeah. It looks like deer but... dyed?
these bases are genuinelly insane
i dont think i could ever build something like this, not even because of the ammount of materials id need, but i dont think i have the skill to make something look so good
You'll get better the more you build, take some ideas from others, use them in your own way. I know how you feel though, some of these folks build some extremely cool things.
@main oak It isn't something I do all at once. I constantly check views running around and envisioning my next move. It's a lot of trial and error sometimes. Patience.
how many hours did it take you
@main oak can't say exactly. Depends but anywhere from 40-100 for some. Sometimes inspiration hits quick and it's faster.
damn, yeah i understand the inspiration thing
Gonna share a few shots of my base if that's okay with people
That's the view from over the river and from the boat bridge at dawn
Kitchen and kitchen storage
a couple of views from the rear tower, including farmland and tree farm
work in progress trophy hall
any tips, ideas, suggestions feel free to share
Smelter street and the faraday cage I built for my eitr refinery
Why would it not be ok with people? 😭
Now listen here buddy, my social anxiety is better equipped to answer that question ok
Only thing we would boop you for is blatantly modded content. In which case we still want to see it, just that goes over in #mods-screenshots 💛
The only mod I use is love. And probably autism
Lautisve.
The centerpiece of my survival starter base (The rest is yet a construction site, only temporary sleep and work boxes)
looks really cool the thing on the tree is really creative
It was necessary, because the standart oak wasnt the height I wanted. So I built a terrain pillar for the oak and then hid it with that little pavillon.
does it have any use or is it just a decoration?
As of yet its just decoration
it looks cool tho
I must see, if you can grow seeds under that roof, then I could make it a little garden.
oh that's a good idea
Trees need sky directly above them
And carrot seeds?
All plantable plants need sky above them
Trees would be too large, because I still want to build a house there
You can plant them first then build around the garden later if you don't plan to use that garden for actual crops
Maybe I'll demolish that roof once more, those roof tiles shouldn't be that difficult to restore
been working on this fort so long I've ignored all the important things I need to be doing
My little island base from a distance looks like an Ewoks paradise
love the style, really gives off a good presence, you know that place is fortified when looking at it
Been spending most our lives living in an ewoks paradise 🎧
We clothesline the speeder guys, livin’ in our Ewok paradise
Do you have any tips for decorating the place? It will be used as a scarface portal for offering trophies later
Found a small plains cutout completely surrounded by mountain biome. If this had a river running through it, itd be a 10/10 seed for builds
Even has the goblin camp for a war room (music change)
jvKVmqPrfp for anyone interested
Planning a new main base build. right in front is gonna be a larger storage. on the right is gonna be the kitchen and dining hall, on the left a workshop and something i will have to plan later. in the back of the build is going to be the main resting area and bedroom.
Pics from The Longest Longhouse. Built in creative mode (on stream), no mods.
New build for the boys when deep north drops. All rock harvested with the power of troll meteors.
This shape has become my favorite to work with.
Got bored and started a new playthrough a couple weeks ago. New little roman barracks-esque thing im slapppin together on a small island
some structural changes, interior and roof planning and most of the stone structural support done
Just finishing up on my first really big planed out build. Giant barn for the farmstead. 36 x 20m. Been quite a beast...especially the top sections without getting things to break. Don't think I have any iron reinforced in the structure. Next time I'm going to get the camera hammer instead of trying to crawl around and put all those freaking shingles on. I'm thinking of shift to the black shingles when I get to the plains. Still trying to give some "depth" to the exterior...nice touches. Any suggestions would be great. As you can see from the excel file, I hope to make the 6 surrounding "area/enclosures" for other critters to make a kind of 8 pointed rune-ish feeling.
I love it...but I'm going to have to be honest...I'm not sure what I think about the tower with the red sky background...thats looking a little "suspiciously" shaped. 😝
Seriously though, one of the coolest Mistland bases I've seen...
Worth it
framing for the roof and support done. next task is to start work on the floors, walls and other interior bits. and to get more wood as ive ran out already.
Just a random build but liked how this balcony turned out
@queen knot This is the barn I'm operating out of 😄
You do your roofing far better than I did.
I just slapped random roof tiles on there, which fitted the occasion. There was no idea behind it 😄
Ah yes the very long house
Old save file from back when I used to play with a friend who was an incredible builder. Normal survival vanilla. All credit goes to him 😄 I gathered, he build
Should I prioritize a proper house and defensive structures over a brigde and a pavillon in survival mode? Yes.
Will I prioritize building the house before the brigdes and the pavillon? No.
How know where build house if no bridge to align it with? 😉
That was my thought
Especially in constructing the roof, it needs to fit into the brigde neatly
There is another brigde yet to be constructed, then I shall dig the moat a little deeper and then I'll start working on the home.
pub 🙂
is this pen big enough, no babies after a few days
Hard to tell, but I think you'll want at least 20-24m from the center to either edge
it's more than large enough. You can get at least 2 babies in pretty much any space (4/10m) Make sure they're both showing 'Happy' status and can eat.
@jagged sapphire Heres my current world and its storage room
Cozy!
@distant hare The beginnings of our Kingdom. So far we've a sleep house, a workshop, a forge, a store house, a mead hut, a cookery, an apiary, a small farmstead and a cartography hut. Trying to come up with a name. Suggestions?
Kings Cross, Warriors Way, Middleton, Ohshititsatroll😉
Are builds made with mods not allowed to be posted?
They’re supposed to be posted here https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202934384643154001 if they have modded content in them
built a pool table for my Tavern
What are the balls?
Onions (99% sure)
Genius
Onions for balls and wooden training spears for pool cues
how did you get the pocket outlines? That's amazing attention to detail.
Looks like tankards just below the rug
Yeah its tankards that are clipped under it, I used the 4 of the first wood table as a base, framed the outside and then put the tankards in the pocket spots. Free handed beams so that the lip of the tankard showed but not the handles and then layered the carpets over top
because every trophy deserves it's own grave marker 😉
bergshire
humild
The landscaping and the roofing of the living quarters are almost finished. Its turning out well. Might become my best build so far, once its finished, but that chimney was an absolute pain to erect with just wood and core wood...
I had to incorporate terrain spikes within the fireplace to barely hold up the stability and then there was the task of hiding them well...
you know the usual stuff @leaden rose
That is genius
My first shared base, spent a good 3 hours on it :)
Please send any tips or feedback, harsher the better
This is our first game. We were as responsible and honest as possible.😊 By the way, we spent a whole week building this base😅
harsher the better
Ew... Meadows. 😉😏😛
been working on this port since yesterday, just wanted to share a progress shot 🙂
Thats fair lol
A crafting and smelting house I built for our playthrough recently. I liked how it turned out.
another angle 😛
roof didnt line up with the wall so I improvised 😄 looks pretty good imo
Roofing, brigdes, landscaping and farm area are finished. Now for the walls, the fermenters, the indoor areas, the docks, the defenses and the brigde entrances... There is yet a lot to do, but I think this will become my best build as of yet.
Ah and once I'm finished, I of course have to repair all these collumns and floor tiles...
Attempt of Palmo Plaza. 10% of the way there...
added the forges to the end of the dock below and started to get the bridge overtop the river, the boat has just enough clearance to get under 🙂
I decided I should level fishing.
so naturally I had to build a fishing hut
shingle roof achieved
Finished dock build, but it feels kinda lifeless. Any tips?
Needs some clutter and cargo. Some barrels, crates, maybe a cart or two.
^this, maybe some of the feylights, you could also hang trophies in the rafters maybe
Peaceful Farm base nestled in the Plains , on the border of the Black Forest
Lox's kept spawning outside of their Aquarium. So this evolved into a pretty solid defense system.
They actually keep flattening the next Goblin Village when provoked
Todays Longest Longhouse addition 🙂
West bridge
new world, new house. i decided to experiment with using the 45 degree logs and wood walls as windows/decorations. i think it turned out well, what do you guys think? (made with no mods as always)
anyone have any arena ideas (any non circular designs)
against rounded shapes for this build, dont mind odd shapes or octagonal shape but want proper sides to it. Its going to be a relatively simple addition to a compound base for a survival world so dont need to think too big, mostly a small pen we can call the pvp area on a tour, maybe some spectating area but optional, depending on inspo can tuck it away or can make a bigger deal of it.
Did you look at the 2 builds i linked in the discussion channel?
It is gradually growing🔨🔨🔨
Forgot an update from yesterday! added some lighting and details around the whole port, and finally connected my bridge to the other side, hopefully gonna get the archery/training grounds added today then i can start planning for the big house i think 🙂
How did you get that tunnel?
Looks like it was cut under a big mountain rock
Me and my roommate have been playing our survival world on and off for about two years now. And our main base is finally almost finished (with a few more things i want to add and some things to finish making look nice). Im pretty proud of it, especially knowing the work that went in and wanted somewhere to share it, weve also got two large builds in other biomes that i might show off when they are closer to finishing.
Winterfell , Westeros inspired build
I've been building a small village, trying to keep most of nature where it is. Defeated elder, Bonemass not yet. Any idea's for improvement?
The roofs and walls could use a bit of layering
Slowly replace your walls (support with beams for now), use the 2x1m pieces and layer them like you would a real brick wall. At the ends of each wall, instead of using 1x1m pieces to fill in the gaps (seen ppl do this), simply rotate your 2x1m pieces 90 degrees and use them to start the layers on your next wall. This will make a big difference already. If you need more stone easy, you can use the stonecutter to delete black forest buildings.
From there id give your wall some texture by putting beams down, start with the corners and then put a beam down every 2 or 3 or 4 blocks (i think it looks best when all beams are evenly spaced out). Id then try and give the build some depth, get a 2m beam ready to place in front of your first beam, use the auto snap setting, and hold shift and just try to line it up as best as you can, the rest you snap should roughly align, but itll look be fine if its a tiny bit off. Then just do that on all the corners, maybe the middle, and you can potentially connect them up with a fancy pattern if you like. This depth (after youve done the other stuff), will make the biggest difference and turn it into smth that feels alot more real than a game structure snapped together. It also just pops more from a distance its a really nice addition.
For interiors, spam stuff, and build random things you like, you don't have to make everything straight, a lot of things look better a little off center especially in mass. But really interiors is about placing alot of things on item frames and just requires a lot of resources so I wouldn't worry about it if u are focused on progression.
Also its a game and its ur build so as long as u like it and are happy with it then its a good build, you dont have to do a bunch of extra steps cause of discord
The fassade of the left house is finished and for the right house only the outer layering is yet to do. After that interior for both and a roofing for the connection between them.
The view from my wip house :)
Really pleased with the new fey lights + been working on making custom placed chimneys
Still need to add more details to interior but really enjoying the building process lately
Wooooah, cool lights :0
building for a public server, it has been 1 whole week playing 10-12 hours daily mostly building 😂
a challenge for you all , can all of you build a base with everything in it , ie , smelters , refinery, spinning wheels and all the things apart from the farm for growing crops , and ofc bees , and chickens , in a 10x10 square base , , its doable , challenge set
shaman and drake? or shaman and deer?
i like the deer better
looks like he attached wall hangers to the brazier then attached the deer heads to the hangers

Thanks!
Bakery in the town I am making.
Butcher shop with freezer. I have been overly excited to build recently.
First roads (finally)
WIP portal outpost to sail to DN from
Thankyou also it wasn't a pond unfortunately it was the ocean and the wall was built over it. The water level was so deep to the terrain it would have caused more problems than would be worth it unfortunately. Maybe at another place it might work but then again at that level when it storms it would overflow and ruin the aesthetic.
a build i did with me and my gf
playing with stone, little beacon/lighthouse
front part of my DN outpost is taking shape (back still looks like ass though)
Currently at ~24k stone used, i'm putting more work into this than in my main base 😅
found my old build that i never ended
That's gorgeous! I really like the corewood framing and the way the different towers fit together.
I built a fortress in Creative. Also remembered about the old world
rate ?/10
My little starter base
does the serpent throphy look out of place here?
I'd move it down some and to the right a little so it's centered to the dock, otherwise i don't think it's "out of place"
i dont want it to block the window
I meant like right there
Ooohh. I'll try that 🙂
Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I'd like to share my 200-hour build with you. I hope you like it, and if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. 🙂 ❤️
damn, how many instances, honestly I never manage to build a medieval castle, and when I try it, my mind is completely blank
You've done great detail work on the upper part of the towers but the lower walls in the front are pretty bare. Maybe add some depth and decorations to break up the monotony?
I won't hide from you that I tried several times, demolishing everything and starting from scratch ( the nervous breakdowns 😂). I was inspired by some builds I saw on YouTube and made something that suited me.
Good idea ! Now that you point it out, that's all I can think of.
I'll work on the perimeter walls. 🙂
Also, good job taking pictures in the daytime. Surprisingly many people have yet to figure this out.
I take pictures at night all the time and they look fine, until later when I open discord on my phone haha
should I make the towers smaller?
Nah. Just make the wall longer
Lr add corner towers
it was based on the bottom middle one
YOOO those are sweet!
You could try adding the botom left (of the 6) to the corners, if you plan to make a full wall/castle
It would look amazing
Bottom right, I meant. But yeah bottom left would look cool too.
you might be able to get away with just pulling them in 1m
but otherwise yes, either bigger gate or smaller towers, the proportions are off
the bottom right would match perfectly ngl
yeah that looks a little better i think? Would probably still look better with a bigger gate tbh but you'd basically have to redo the entire thing
It's possible to make the gate bigger without redoing the whole thing I will try
the entire central tower i mean
like those kinds of gatehouses are 16-20m high or so. Your's is about half that which is why the proportions look off
yeah i guess
maybe add 5-6m of height and 2-4m of width? Something to try at least
if you want the upper towers big enough to be usable at least
like this would be good?
that's more like it
it looks good and uncunny at the same time now
the stone part is too small now, need to make that wider & higher too
?
not the gate, the central tower
needs a layer or two more of stone before the wooden walkways start
so it looks beefier like a proper fortress, with it being so thin it just looks weird
like this?
Now just add those corner towers to the walls, and make it a wall around a good sized area then you can build a keep and some smaller buildings like a small village in there and you've got a nice castle town
right now that wall is made for fun rn but it looks so good I might use it for my normal server with friends
Here I go again, starting a project I will probably never finish
new stone hights ma bruhdas!!
The lighting is coming along really well
My cozy tavern.
the build continues
Looks beautiful
Started work on my 2nd ever home.
My house that I am updating through the ages from meadows to the end of the game on my no map/no portal server!
construction break...
ohmy is it only with flametal beams?
After a long while my immersive mode build is finally finished! Its not my biggest build, but I think its my best so far, and that only with bronze age materials!
And it all evolved from this little island
this is amazing!
Still learning how to build. This is my third structure.
Good start to a bridge style base
@sturdy peak
Mostly..
Thank you
@fallow python idk if this will help much, but here's an example i slapped together real quick.
I love the oak tree being a part of it, and the wood details are excellent
Nice little village in my world
Bridge is a nice touch
Very nice islanf though.. almost want to ask for seed
Fleshing out my outposts dock area
My current build whilst im working on the phones, on a small meadows/black forest island
I wish i could find an island like this 😮
Depending on your skills at terraforming, it's possible to create an island like that
Yeah uhm we don’t talk about terraforming, it only took me 8 hours to clear trees and terraform
Nothing fancy, but a solid hill fort thatll eventually become a lighthouse over the harbor of the starting village.
I need to fix the landscape, but for my first real base/village, it is going well.
Little update on the village, new forging building, a dock, a center park with a sundial and some terraforming.
image you can see in.
Sundial is an interesting idea. Does it actually work?
Yes, they work (during the day, obviously)
this is my second base on my first playthrough
been spending a lot of time with it and i am happy with my build
just want to share it with everybody 😎 if anyone have ideas to improve my build, pls let me know
thanks you
Technically this should be in #mods-screenshots , just fyi.
I mean yeah, It could be.
Should vs. "Could"
i'd suggest decorating your walls. Wood framing, banners, lights, pillars, anything to make them look less plain and bare. There's tons of videos with build tips on youtube that are worth watching for picking up tricks and techniques
took me ages
Yes I should, but there is nothing in the build that is modded except for the small beams on the sundial, and some stuff in my inventory.
So, knowing it belongs elsewhere, you made the active choice to post it in the wrong channel?
Interesting...
LOVE what you did with the banners!
Karen
No need to start name-calling. There are different channels in the server for a reason.
If you're aware of the server rules, you should follow them. that's just decent.
Lmao, your name is ironic😂. Sure but the wording made me laugh, it sounds wayyyy to Karen like lmao.
Ez block.
man, this happened again...
it wasn't producing at all at first
and now I harvest from it at the same rate as other beehives, but every time I click after (I remember the spot) it tells me that it wants more space
I see an Oak in the background. I wonder if the low hanging branches might be causing that message occasionally.
I don't know how much space they need above the beehive.
oh, okay...
gamers don'tlook up
Some structures actually have these kind of "rays" (visualized by mod) that determine how covered they are. In case of beehives, if over 60% of the rays get stopped by other structures or obstacles like terrain or trees, they inform they require more open space to produce honey.
^FYI too @warm cypress
Preparing for the Deep North by building a new castle and I couldn't think of a better castle to build than Castle Black from Games of Thrones (still a lot to do, pls don't drop DN till I'm done, thanks!). Also, going to have to make due without the wall, I couldn't make it work on vanilla.
I looked at the pictures before I read your comment to it and my thoughts were: Well, that looks a lot like Castle Black! - Well done!!!
Where did you build it? I was just wondering because you said preparing for the deep north
I'm probably a 10 minute sail away from the Deep North. I found the most northern mountain biome that had flat enough terrain.
