No, I forgot that part
Yea, it's pretty easy with the reddit post to find the interaction, but the time is the real question mark
Are you spawning two faders?
So is 3 seconds from the time it spawns or from when it starts taking damage?
Time it spawns, the moment he lands from his meteor timer started
Just think on how much dps you have to do to kill fader in 3 seconds
and how on earth is that possible
Something to do with battering rams maybe π€
No prior set up or building
He's pickaxe immune, so I don't think so
I think seed does matter, but I don't wanna share the seed I used yet because I wanna get the ssg ng+ fader record with this lol
I only like the first two biomes honestly
Of Valheim?!
yes
currently roleplaying as a horse and levelling up sprint
did the crow say anything about sneaking i missed?
It'll be in the compendium if he did.
did you watch a certain anime by chance?
speed racer?
hmmm idk, im watching made in abyss rn and its pretty f'd up
Uma musume?
yes
Ah yeah, thats the new one.
Lol.
is there a setting to make buildings render from farther away
No world modifiers too?
Normal mode
uh 1.5x and no boss portals
But don't think those matter just stating for science
Is draw distance/level of detail on very high?
put it higher, ty
If yes and you still want more i'm sure there's a mod for it but #mods-discussion
Lol, just seen someone post a Steam graph on Reddit claiming Valheim had 0 players even though it wasn't even the lowest line of the graph.
#1024264966712340510 there are a few I think
why i cant join my friend server ?
I love valheim :D
Trying to connect through favorite tab? It doesn't currently work properly iirc.
i had that issue when a friend had crossplay enabled
people get mad when they cant do it this way lol
Had you been able to connect to it before? If so, you might ask if they've made any changes. Check your Player.log for clues on possible connectivity issues. If you're running an Internet security suite or VPN, you might try again with it disabled.
Well, probably will be fixed at some point, but there are other ways to connect.
had one message me like "THIS IS HOW I ALWAYS DO IT BLRGADF#$$#%" π
Hey guys now i have buy valheim had anybody tips for me ?
keep your rest buff active
Listen to bird
i haven't heard about the bird
bird is the word yo
BOP BOP BOP BOP BOP
Like Scales said, the bird gives you very useful advices how things work. His advices are also found in Compendium when you press tab to open your inventory.
how many level of upgrades do the weapons have?
4 is maximum.
If you don't want to give the exact seed, could you at least share what makes the seed special so I can replicate it? I guessed it might be Fader's spawn at a low altitude but I manually generated one at minimum altitude and it didn't seem to help.
The only thing you really want is for him to be on an island of his own pretty much, right near water
Ngl tho I really wouldn't grind your gears on this too much, it has an idea from 4 wood fader that I'm pretty sure there's like maybe 3 people that know of that interaction
When/if I do ssg ng+ fader i'll show off 3 sec fader at the end π
I had a question about that too. I'm trying to figure it out on a completely empty flat platform with nothing but the wood and generic equipment. Should I be in a place with naturally generated objects instead? I know you don't want to give away exactly how this is done so I've tried to keep the question simple
So you spawned in a Fader arena with dev commands?
Maybe send a screenshot
#screenshots message I'm going out tonight so I won't be able to test if that works, but I imagine it should? π€ let me get back to ya sometime tomorrow
They only spawn at night π
Very rare from my experience but it is very worth it
It took me like a month to find one
Did you tame it?
There are only 3 absolute truths in this game
1:Trees are more dangerous than half of the actual enemies
2:Fall damage is not pleasant
3:You will never have enough iron
Make that 4: You will have to sail to another biome.
RIP seed D62C8620dV pre-ashlands update π
(you could walk from the Deep North to the Ashlands with that seed)
I've been charting out a boss-less playthrough and it must be destiny because there is (I believe, correct me if I'm wrong) exactly 1 melee weapon (along with some arrows and the Arbalest) that you can make without the artisan table, and it is a weapon that holds a very special place in my heart
Krom π₯°
Make that 5: corpse runs
Carapace spear is also available
Thank you π I think my eyes glazed over it from reading "carapace" since everything else that has "carapace" in the name requires linen or refined eitr which you can't get (besides arrows and bolts)
You can also make Arbalest π
-# and just now i noticed you specified melee weapons xD
To be fair, I originally had just said weapon but I noticed the Arbalest and edited my message π
Aaaah, i thought i just didnt notice it the first time i read it xD wouldnt surprise me at all
The real pain with that challenge in my opinion is gonna be no wisplight/wisp torches/mistwalker π . I'm sure a skilled enough player could make do in a fight with any weapon, but I don't skill can help you see through the mist
Its not really that bad in mist without them π just a bit annoying
Perhaps. I guess I'm just used to it being hard enough WITH the wisplight playing mapless π
I mean I guess that counts but theres some seeds with like a really huge starter island that u wont have to leave for a long time
but even then yea you'll always have to sail to another biome cause ashlands and deep north have 0 land connections
hmm, got a bunch of silver.. made a frostner, then realized frostner actually sucks on what I wanted a blunt weapon for
Itβs bad blunt damage, but the knockback and slow makes it good for keeping enemies away. Also the frost means it has the same damage output as other silver weapons
sucks for stone golems though
my level three iron mace will take them down with two parries
Hmm. I've been using my Dead Raiser for months, but I'm only just now noticing how weak the melee skeletts are in the Ashlands. A few of the mobs there knock them back before their attacks connect.
HIGHLY recommend giving your skellets a shield bubble, especially in the Ashlands.
Even then they're more for distraction, they're dumb pathing will usually get them killed by walking through lava.
If you want summons that deal some damage that's what the ||trollstav (which is a really good distraction) or staff of the wilds (which can do quite a lot of damage and paralyze)|| is for
Oh, I've been doing necromancy for a very long time. They'll almost always have a protection bubble if I can help it. And in general, I almost never use melee weapons after gaining access to magic. The summons and utility spells are entirely too useful.
I mean same, skellets for distraction then elemental staff for damage. Using no melee weapons ESPECIALLY means you want distractions because if they're right in your face, you should probably be backing up instead of shooting
I do back up. Gotten pretty good with my movement and know exactly when to dive away so I can quick-swap and use my staff of protection, which then allows me to throw some roots down to start clearing the area and re-summoning the idiot skeletts.
Wasn't saying you don't back up, I was just saying skellets are so you don't have to back up, they push the front line away from you so you can do the part they can't
Honestly wish there was more than Dead Raiser and Trollstav to work with. Only the former has summons that you sort of control with no danger of retaliation. Elemental gets plenty to work with by comparison. It's usable, but the boney things shatter so easily without armor.
I can't even eat them when they shatter ;-; tasty soup stock bones.
I mean if you've got to the Ashlands I'm assuming you can handle a troll. If it's only a small number of enemies then yeah don't bother but when you're seeing a number of enemies that make you sweat, I think the "risk" of summoning a troll is definitely worth it. The summoned troll doesn't do any more damage than a normal troll even if you do get hit, it just has a lot more health but either 1. There will be other enemies that will probably grab it's attention or 2. It's basically just you and the troll(s) left, and at that point you can MELT them with the frost staff and a full eitr bar or if you don't need to kill them, just leave lol
But can you eat the fiery troll?
how to join
Join what?

Anyone else find it a bit odd that the Ashlands aren't always considered to be a heat source?
Odd? Yes
Should they change it? Probably not
I've never checked if you can have the Cold status effect there.
You sure do stay wet after going in the ashlands through a portal
The ||staff of wild|| is very good, even on non magic users, the ability to summon non-targetable summons that deal a ton of dmg for the cost of like 50ish eitr is very good for back up and dmg
Ive been using my go to melee x magic build with both the ashland and mistland feast and either a stamina or health food
Servers mybad
Thankss
absolutely, love spamming them down at a point and then just baiting enemies through it because if that paralyze procs they're doomed
I was heavy armor melee x a little magic for range until I hit ashlands, then I decided magic is way to cool to not lean into and have been using it since
Slayer, Ripper, Staff of embrs, Staff of wild, Staff of protection is my build
Has saved me many times
Especially that one time I encountered a 2** asksvin
Nothing like watching a vine or two absolutely demolish a 2-star charred warrior.
And was fighting for my dear life trying to get that puppy
I do slightly miss my min-maxed Brutal Slayer max health food days. But then I watch a meteor pancake a ruin and that nostaliga passes π€£
π΄
What is the maximum armor level? 129?
142 without commands (level 3 flametal armor + ashen cape)
1670 with commands (level 4 flametal armor + ashen cape, spawned with world level 10)
That's not armor level, that's armor value.
I know, but I assumed that's what regainer meant after suggesting it might be something as high as 129
Yes, armor value. I'm sorry. I have level 3 flametal armor but the feather cape. Is Ashen cape much higher than the feather cape ? @nocturne wolf
Ashen cape has higher defense than any other cape but I think feather cape is best
I'm so used to flying with the cape lol
Only thing that can compete with the feather cape is the ashen cape
I like the Ashen cape for the armor value and reduced stamina cost that stacks with Ask set.
some people wants to try to stir drama
The funny thing was that his graph didn't even say what he was saying.

dw, removed the note on my end
π
I'm the stupid version
Lost me at test
Sup guys
Hey there.
Not long ago, I tried the fishing rod in the game and today in real life. At first, I wondered why so much stamina is spent while fishing, and in real life, you also have to put in effort to pull or at least drag the fish to the shore.
Carp 10 kg first caught fish in my life
Helloo
Congrats.
Thanks
Random question, but has there been any fix to multiplayer Valheim's network issue?
What issues?
The whole p2p networking thing causes lag desync and delays if one persons internet isn't basically perfect
It doesn't need to be perfect, just reliable.
Well, unfortunately even though my friends and I have reliable internet, lag desync occurs and we started getting world freezes and delays
Seems unlikely if you all have good connections between each other. Unless other things are at play.
yes
don't use VPN
don't use WIFI
the games "issue" is the same as most other games in the world where people have shaky internet connections
valheim is just sensitive
You mean that using morse code isn't suitable anymore?
Damn! I just upgraded to that from using smoke signals.
Yeah. it's the old "optimize game" button feature
When it's this common of a complaint it certainly shouldn't be shrugged off like that π€
I know people with perfectly good and stable connections that still have lag and it's an unenjoyable experience compared to solo
I have a pretty poor connection but can still play on V rising multiplayer with no issues
Valheim not so much
Idk about that I played with someone in Argentina and someone in the U.S. while I was on an island in Greece and it wasnβt too bad
I play on 5G WiFi over GeForce Now and I don't have the lag people claim on a server with 6-7 people.
Anyone have tips for fighting moder?
Make a terrain pillar to use as a shield from her projectile attack
If you don't wanna deal with stone golems mid fight trap them in some holes to prevent any more from spawning
Any melee weapon works (except Frostner more poorly), best armor, best foods, HP/stamina/utility meads, lots of arrows.
@nocturne wolf both work
also check #screenshots for a meme
how long do storms last bruh
Depends on the storm.
This one simple trick, Fader hates this!
Depends on the day* π
wish i could sleep through it
You can. Just need a bed.
won't let me
And time to be after noon π
How early in the game are you?
Oh, that's fair.
finally cleared
Except it's not simple
at least not simple to figure out
need meat to turn to coal to make my first forge cuz i dont wanna go look for more cores
Or you could build a kiln, make coal, deconstruct it, and make a smelter
Anyways, storms are pretty unavoidable and you simply need to learn to deal with the lower stamina regeneration. There's an entire biome later that has perpetual rain
If you struggle with stamina but not so much health, you could consider having 2 stamina foods and 1 health food instead of 2 health 1 stamina
my only recipe is a copper knife? π
Get tin
its in the forest?
Yes. There should've been a Hugin hint for it. The raven icon in the top right part of your screen when you open inventory has all the Hugin hints you've received.
WHEEEEEE
Completed the Dyrnwyn side quest again, really enjoy it! Sadly wonβt be using Dyrnwyn this playthrough, but itβs a nice trophy.
We have resources at 1.5, so me and my buddy both got all the pieces
Unfortunate that it's just a glorified torch.
Wait, the torch does more fire damage...
Hopefully itβs gets a little love in the combat update β€οΈ
π€
1.5 is the way to do it. I wish it did like a 50% doubling for single drops like cores instead of a guaranteed two, but...
is the bronze spear a throwing spear like flint or normal?
All spears have secondary throwing attack π
If you want a pierce melee weapon the is not also ranged then atgeir is the way to go
Then almost any other weapon π
Atgeir has the longest reach
it pairs well with a shield?
Spears should have bit longer reach, at least as long as axes or swords/maces.
You cant have shield with it, its a two handed weapon
That's the neat part: it won't.
i was expecting the spear to be held with the point forward like in souls games tbh
atgeir does have good block armor tho, should be fine
The main strenght of atgeir is that you pretty much dont need to block π just use secondary
should be easy to get more ore with the cart now
It has also OP secondary attack.
Atgeir doesn't need to parry, it'll just stagger everything with the spin attack. If you do need to parry, it does have a ridiculously high amount of parry armor.
Like, genuinely overpowered. The kind of overpowered that allows it to be viable multiple biomes in the future
some times i think why not all food items have the same stack size
They should all stack up to 50 like bukeperries
π€·ββοΈ no idea, but its really not a problem since there are not stacks lower than 10 for food, and 10 is more than enough
You wonder? I thought you'd think.
i mean i always thought that the smallest stack should be 20
Both jerkys, sausages, wolf skewers.
bread has 20 to
Both cooked serpent and bonemaw meats have 50.
i mean we technically are eating dogs in this game
Also both weight 10 each so full stack weights 500.
do carts have hp?
they do
Eating dogs: WHAT THE FUCK
Eating zombified human intestines: mmm sosij
Hover hammer on it.
it seems i should build a path
i you have a long way to go and need to run this way sever times then yeah you should make a path
My cart broke halfway to the shore
Idk man paths are a scam
building roads makes does also help that you don need to look always at the map
Also it's construction xp
Built a patch once to try and take advantage of the cart. It was far more trouble than it was worth, and it didnβt really make the cart transit much safer π
It was super pretty though! But I will never do it again lol
Yep, thatβs a pretty good method
For extra storage, you can place a cart on a karve
thats what I did on my first playthrough, now I always use the boat
Oh I can make a karve just need some finewood
Prob going to hit every single centimeter of the river tho
My go-to plan is to setup a kiln/furnace, then grab one good haul of coppper, then one good haul of tin. Once thatβs complete, Iβll make a karve and start transporting metal with it.
Karve copper sailing is such a vibe
Keep the rudder at 1 power and turn slowly
This game is great, I just bought it yesterday! Need people to play with !!
I can't get anyone to play on my dedicated server
Why not?
I think there are two people that both look for others on a server, one wants friends to play with and the griefers need someone to harass. When either sees that no one is active they just turn away.
Take this to #1024264966712340510
guys i just wanna say i beat yagluth for the first time
anny tips for the mistlands??
Don't die.
ah yhanks fot that
And also don't run venison-boar-honey
uhhh in all seriousness watch out for the seekers, there's a bug where they can attack while staggered
Take it slowly, dont rush, and listen to your surroundings π
Frostner does the most damage
Frostner is quite popular, BM sword or atgeir also work very well π
thanks guys i have frosner and a sword
Frostner is good for seekers but against any other enemy (including seeker soldiers) a plains tier weapon will be better
the dwarf farms on yt do they realy work??
Dwarf farms?
I've made one
yeah like for wood and srone
but you have to sit there for them to spawn, so unless you are doing while sleeping or something I dont think its worth it
Ah, greydwarf farms, yeah those are quite simple to make π
okay thanks guys you are realy helping me outπ
Tbh, skill are not that important in grand scheme of things π nice to have but if you didnt have them you will not suffer much
I also don't think that automation is in the spirit of the game as much as, say, Minecraft
But it's a personal decision
Oh for sure, but they make a good ||blood magic|| <--- (mistlands stuff spoiler) farms if you really want to farm to raise your skill
And you'll have ||sausages|| for eternity
Hmm? I was talking about greydwarf farms π but yeah, draugr work too
Ah, mb
And actually are better for the purpose i was talking about, so bonus points for you xD
The ||root harnesk + serpent shield + skeleton archer blocking skill farm|| is also quite funny
Meh, blocking leveling is done with Elder π
But you can get like ||50 billion skeleton archers in one place and do it so much faster||
You can spawn as many Elders as you want π
and the vine attack is really good for leveling
Is there a Flametal Atgier?
one of my crew is still using Himminafl, and i want to upgrade him
hell im still using himminafl
Unfortunately no, Himminafl is currently the best atgeir in game
Atgeirs really don't need an at tier version to be relevant
For example, bronze atgeir can still do atgeir things in the ashlands
Yeah, they are OP as heck, and i love them so much for it and really am not excited for when they get nerfed (which i would almost bet they will)
As long as the secondary does 3x stagger dmg theyβll be a good option
I hope we get an upgrade to Himminafl, i want a bleeding Atgier
At least 4x
still will be less than clubs do
Robin has mentioned that he at least wants a weapon for everyone in the deep north seeing that itβs the last biome
or an upgrade mechanic
Bronze sword 2
Yeah, i would also love one of each type of weapon in DN π
-# and i think i even made a suggestion of that π€
Full year ago dang
Heh, my memory didnt lie to me for once XD
Stars aligned
Its a sign!!!
that would be nice
Finally done with moder.. mostly killed with a crystal battle-axe, arrows weren't doing much
I took a few hits learning her tells and timing, then beat her like she was my own mother
I was already treading into plains anyway, now it's just official
That's crazy π
That's how I play most games, I test the limits and movements of bosses before going in for a kill
Like running up to her and not attacking, just dodging, just to measure how much time I have in between her attacks to get in my own
Built a nice small to med size house on the boarders of the plains biome and the swamp on the beach. I was attacked a few times by single enemies while building, no big deal. Right after completion, a set of 3 lox show up looking for trouble. Got one of them down to half health, 3 more show up....I just ran for my boat and took off. I look back and 3-4 of them were just stomping the place flat...sigh. It was fun.
Yeah, I'll probably dig a trench around my base when I move into plains, then I only have to deal with dicksquitos
They got an elixir for that ailment
Yeah, root armor
lol
Root armor made me basically invincible to them
And the knife one shots them too, great fly swatter
Crystal battleaxe makes light work of them too
You one shot them with basically any weapon...
Yeah, but slow wind up on the axe
I use battleaxe for everything
Yeah, they're easy to kill with any weapon, so the faster the attack speed, the faster they die
It'll probably be a while before I get black metal weapons though, need linen, and the patch of plains I have only seems to have had the one village, which gave me barley
I have something fun for you all to try
First, find a melee enemy. Ranged enemies won't work since it's hard to stop them from attacking.
Hold your hammer, and select a piece that will be targeted by enemies (I've tried this with a cooking station and workbench, but anything else should work)
Keep your crosshair aimed at the ground so the preview of that piece is always visible.
Let the enemy chase you for fifteen seconds, don't let it begin any attack animation (this may be an issue for enemies with taunts such as fuling berserker)
It should now be targeting the object preview for the next fifteen seconds
This is some random bug I found while trying to cheese fader which I have still made no real progress on
Huh, so since enemy ai cant reach/attack you for 15 second they switch focus on the "ghost" piece?
Nice find π
Anybody have room for a veteran player? I've beat Ashlands twice.
Somebody in #1024264966712340510 might have π
hi im looking for someone to play with and chill it can be on your seed or mine. I didnt play for some time so i dont remember that much I did every boss before plains
Look no further than #1024264966712340510 π
plains really does mandate having some kind of a plains base eh?
Not really, small outpost for farming is enough
Something about stocking up on yggdrasil wood and wisps, then going to the mistlands and clearing the environment
Just scratches a certain kind of itch
spawn dverger_demister_large
Anyone have news about the next update ?
Any news is in #news
Thx
how come i cant find my vegvisir in the plains?
Bad luck, unfortunately. Just keep searching, youβre bound to find one eventually
They are just the rarest ones. Look for stone circles/stonehenges π
ive found so many lol full circles henges lol no luck at all
lmao found the boss not even a Vegvisir
crazy game
I just found my first 1 star soldier, this thing feels like a boss lol
I just about had him dead and he called 3 of his buddies and they got me
Please calm down
What about it do you struggle with?
lol im pretty new so idk but I think its well balanced
sprinting costs stamina, this should not come as a surprise
Are you sure you've been playing for 4 years? There's food and a forsaken power that allow you to cross entire continents in minutes as early as the second biome.
If you don't eat, of course you're gonna get tired more quickly irl
you need to eat food to continue being alive irl, how is this your argument
Do you fast and sprint all day?
That's not the same as sprinting constantly. There are small gaps in your work that allow you to catch your breath.
valheim man can fast forever
Because you didn't eat and it's hard constantly swinging a giant axe or whatever
Bro I think youβre crashing out, itβs just a video game π
what a peculiar fellow
Take a 10-poind barbell, swing it in a 90 degree arc every 0.6 seconds, and tell me how long you can do that without stopping.
Its a hardcore survival video game, the entire point of it is to be hard. Having the stamina system makes it that. And if you have played since 2021 why are you just now voicing your concerns about the stamina system? The system we have curretly is fine
While said 10-pound barbell encounters an object mid-swing.
Get a video of you doing it π πΏ
We also need proof that he didn't chug a Monster Energy or eat within the previous 24 hours
we need someone to go back in time grab a viking an dmake them 1v1 this guy
well atleast my valheim viking isnt starved all day
It seems to me that you clearly don't enjoy Valheim, so why are you here?
Then run the necessary food and buffs instead of disregarding them and claiming you can't do anything meaningful in game.
Seeing as you hate the stamina system and thats a very large part of valhiem
Iβm also wondering why he played for 4 years
Stamina foods + tasty mead makes wonders.
And eithkyr
Also a very good point.
Ima laugh if this guy doesn't use the rested buff
Wait till this guy discovers the souls games and Elden Ring
Well there's your problem
If the souls games aren't hard for you, then why are you struggling in Valheim?
its because he no need to eat in those games
passes some popcorn around
Ooh, thanks, stamina food my favorite
You can't cast spells IRL either
You do it with eitr, which makes stamina management easier. Whatβs your point?
Nooo theyβre deleting the crash out π
You also can't carry 300 kg while sprinting at full speed IRL or magically reduce the volume and weight of bronze threefold from its raw materials
Someone crashed out because they had to eat food?
Yes
Sounds like they should just play the game without food, it's doable π
Without taking any hits either
Bye bye.
What valid points?
I'm sorry I'm just messing around, didn't mean to offend :*(
Maybe was a little too flippant I'll delete
User has been dealt with. Sorry about that π
Thanks!
Oh man, he got banished to the shadow realm lol
Guess we'll never get the video of him swinging a 20lb sledge once every 2.12 seconds without stopping for multiple minutes straight
Alright, time for me to get back to work π
Dogg you work too much
Honestly I was genuinely looking forward to that lol
-# Maybe if y'all weren't talking shit
Valheim is a game about preparation. This is what happens when you blame the game for your lack of preparation.
And wasting stamina on unnecessary actions like running all the time during fighting.
I was curious enough to test, with full gear and starting with a berzerkir mead a valhiem Viking can swing a battleaxe holding down attack for 51 seconds
with the ask set and a berserkir mead attacking doesn't use stamina
yea
Over the years stam management has become much easier
Hildir and bog witch specifically
On the bright side, there's a significantly lower chance now of a particular online chucklefuck catastrophically pulling something in his back while attempting to replicate this
he had this, he was gunna take a vid of him swinging his 20 lbs sledge hammer non stop for a week, no food and no sleep
is there a trick to finding infested mines in the mistlands?
Go up at the tall mistlands boulders and looks for mistlands boulders that are spiky and have like 2-3 of them all together
cleared out a nice fuhling village on the coast, staked my claim to it, replanted all the flax I found there
honestly, I think Yaglush will be easy
i already have a good weapon for him
Yep, but they are rare, look for big stone circles/stonehenges, they can have them π
Have you tried looking for him in lush bushes?
You will never find yaglush in this game, only his cousin yagluthπ
hmm, i did see some stonehenge looking thing, but haven't checked it out because two lox are in the middle of it.. time i get more lox meat i guess
I was wondering why bronze mining was so miserable, then I discovered the cart
I skip the pick since you don't need it to get iron. I'll take two antler picks and build a Repair station on sight. Weight will cap before inventory slots.
I think I should move my anvil setup closer to the mining spot
I have the best armor and I have the razor I am just working on upgrades atp
Eating in another game made me thankful for Valheims food system.
Like if eating is only something you do to not die then there's no reason to not just make 100's of the cheapest half-decient food and let that carry you through 80% of progression. And it leads to really weird things like a whole ass animal cooked on a fire being less filling than like... a cookie because the cookie had 3 crafting steps and the whole animal only had 1.
Valheim really found a good balance of making food choice meaningful and actually an interesting part of progression.
Yes also not so absurdly complicated and essential that turns away new players. Looking at you, Haven >.>
Anyone tried dropping items onto a boat and sailing? Do they clip into the boat and fall or anything
You can put a cart on a boat but Iβm not sure about dropped items
iirc, items tossed onto a boat clip through and sink/float as soon as the boat moves.
Sleep command will just skip one day, should not in any way affect taming, timescale could work, or if you are already using commands just use tame command to instantly tame them
breeding, not taming
Ah, crap, my bad xD
i read it that way at first too
No idea then, but timescale should still work
when skipping night breeding goes on like smelting and crop growing so also sleep should work (dunno never opened devconsole ever)
The dark power of the devconsole is absolute, seductive and corrupting.
Only those with strongest of wills are able to resist its seduction, and play normally even after tasting it.
i know, almost did it when i lost a fully upgraded fenris armor due to game freeze... but i resisted (and speed farmed fenris hair on my sanbox no cost 3x res and passive enemies seed π )
That kinda just sounds like devcommands but with extra steps tbh
Meh, still way more legit than devcommands π
yeh didn't feel so clean... still game freeze (and subsequent inconsistency with player/world save) patched my conscience up eheh
f5, devcommands, ghost, f5, faster than reloading and switching to passive and exactly the same
Vinny had another sandbox world already made π
Also, doesent give you the "Cheater!" stat π
yup, my ValhLego building practice grounds!
I tend to play the game as a viking lego game primarily so I have no such compunctions.
damn, i knew that, yesterday i rushed spamming maypoles il all my outposts because i felt i was running out of time, then went to slleep because too tired to finish... well i did the most important ones at least
i really enjoy my Lego seed, saves me a lot of time "figuring out" building tricks without res / food / raid troubles, still building something big with the sweat of farming materials is the best feeling for me
i've only actually had a couple of "pure" playthroughs, I usually cave and end up building a massive city
#screenshots message @flat pivot If you dont like it, give it back.
yup, that's probably why i spent my first 7-800 hours without ever beating the Elder (but with couple iron for stonecutter) and never felt boredom for a single minute
that's quite the feeling when you go to the seaside in the Adriatic "sea" eheh (but it opens up into the rest of Mediterranen down south)
Tbh i quite like "lakes" like this π
I knew someone would get it xD
β€οΈ
Hey how is the mod called where i can acces all matherials in my chest through the crafting table without taking everything out of it myself
Prolly something named Craft from chests, but #mods-discussion
Craft from containers, from several creators
https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/2323 You can even adjust the distance via the "config" file.
Thanks guys
Is there an effective way to create a lighthouse? Or do I have to lift up land for the bonfire?
I use demisters
Is that a mod or a mistlands thing?
mistlands, you can farm wisps and then make them, or you can cheat and spawn them in
Gotcha thanks, was debating if I just lift a huge land pillar or something
I usually make an earthen pier, that extends out far enough so nothing with attack the boat, then put a demister on the end
Someone is speaking my language
Is it ground places only too?
yeah
Island I was thinking about building on may just be too big tbh
what i a demister? never heard this word
Maybe they mean Wisp Torch?
"wisp torch" is crafted, the mistlands assets are called dverger_demister
Ahh I see.
thx for the info.
the large one renders from pretty far away, its great for piers imo
Can't hit what they can't catch... π
You cannot build the dvergr demister without mods though
just need devcommands
True, that also works (if you're not paying on a server)
and for that the mod is "serverdevcommands" which gives admins that functionality
i have 91 hours in valheim and still barely know how to do the bronze age...
is that where you are at now or did you just breeze through it?
still at that now
ive gotten to iron age once but dont even remmeber how tbh
I like taking it slow as well. If you forget, the raven hints should be enough to jar your memory. If you go to the inventory screen and look in the top right corner, that raven icon has all your previous raven hints saved.
can you still craft the dandelion crown or is it over?
i disabled the raven π dying then hearing him infuriated me
Well there's your problem
If you want tips on how to not die as much, feel free to ask π
Make sure you aren't running food more than a biome below what you're in
That's a very common cause of death
ive been trying to unlcok recipes
Have you found carrot seeds yet?
yes
Nice.
lol was literally typing that
.
Wiki says you can make it from June to October.
@storm scaffold
damn missed out on the crown
got the magpole on standby at least, though i did put it on top of my roof. here's to no trolls throwing a calculated rock π
I died because of your ping this is all your fault i am going to sue
lmao
Save me a place in line once you get to hell.
Don't forget to destroy the spawners first
Good call.

Hi, if anyone is knowledgeable on using mods, I posted a question in #mods-discussion message
I imagine anyone knowledgeable with mods will answer in the correct channel.
I wish I had a bigger

Hence why I linked to there rather than posting it all here
But you've already posted in the correct place.

A crossbow with frost damage.
I think most Texans would enjoy frost damage after baking in 100Β°F (38Β°C) weather all day
Only if I can enjoy a nice steak or burger while taking the frost damage
TooMuchHotdogg
I imagine you'd taste horrible. All sweaty and gross and shit.
Oh Iβd be choice grade for sure, no doubt
Elder is really hard I noted, I am using a +3 bow with fire arrows and barely doing any damage
It is one tanky boe
Melee weapons generally do more DPS. Even then, he does take multiple minutes to kill.
Not enough campfires
Or you could do that
Finally killed the 2 star draugr archer that was terrorizing the forest
Had a brilliant idea of taking over a stone tower, building a ton of sharp stakes around it, and then just taking pot shots until he got tierd of my shit and walked right into the sharp stakes
Waiting for storms is the most boring thing
What do you need the storm for?
@shy marlin If he needs those, he can just wait until nightfall
ye idk was my best guess
Height check on some walls
And need to pickax some too long walls and rocks in my harbor
5-6 meters should be enough for the roughest storms from a precursory Internet search. So 3 2m wood poles
From the floor (sea) or from where
From where the water level is during clear weather
Trying to avoid my bonfire markers going out in heavy storms
Also keep in mind that seawalls and shit won't keep the water out, it's almost completely height-dependent.
Nah itβs not that itβs to keep the entrance lit when Iβm flying in mid storm
Send a screen shot so you get what I mean
For anyone curious, we talked more in DMs. The waves noped his bonfire and it wasn't even storming. He has now decided to raise it up a good bit.
Anyone else find the concept of the Brew of Animal Whispers to be absolutely revolting? You basically ferment onions, carrots, and what I assume to be dried animal poo in a vat until it liquifies.
Better than turning zombified human instestines into sausages imo
Well, anything that helps with taming tbh...
Seeker meat gotta be nasty too
Valheim's got a lot of gross, useful things in it.
But yeah, still gross. But also goofy.
It probably tastes like lobster, which is normally a rather expensive delicacy. And here we are thinking it's disgusting and overcooking it to smelt ore.
Or, even worse, throwing it into the obliterator out of laziness.
Iβll punch this water
Definitely like lobster meat, with the texture of pork?
Sure, we can headcanon that.
Neck is a combo of squirrel and frog
Volture meat gotta be nasty
Probably tastes like chicken
...with a bit of charcoal and electrical fire mixed in. Yeah, never mind.
Food tier list in valheim when (based on how tasty they could be)
Based on how good it would be irl?
yee
Muckshake clears
Mmm sosigs...
fish'n'bread tbh
Made from zombie entrails, hmm might have to change my answer.
Volture meat. Dry, devoid of flavor, a bit of a smokey aftertaste...
eyescream probably wouldn't be all that bad either. I know that fish eyes are supposed to be kinda sweet-tasting, so surely greydwarf eyes are too
Bitter as fuck because of all the carcinogenic ash.... mmmmm
There are more sources for entrails than draugr.
Greydwarve eyes, I imagine having the texture of rock candy, mostly due to their bodily makeup of wood & stone.
rotten glowing eyeballs and drake testies churned together? this is difficult
Honestly, I'd probably want to try Roasted Crust Pie. Mostly because it's a giant scrambled egg mixed with sweet & sour vineberries. Custard texture?
Plains feast gotta be amazing
Honey Glazed Chicken
Misthare Supreme and Seeker Aspic unironically look really appetizing
Seeker aspic sounds like it would taste like lobster and mushroom in a sweet and sour sauce
It's always struck me as a bit strange that Yggdrasil Porridge gives less stats than Seeker Aspic despite being more expensive and only cooking one instead of two.
Ye
Surprisingly the plains are much more peaceful than the meadows
Hmm. The Meat Platter. Who needs veggies? Vegetables are rabbit food! Meat! Meaaat!
At least by reaching plains I can fully abandon onion farming
I feel like onions are the only dish that requires one item. Could be good to mass farm them to level up Cooking before turning the soup into charcoal.
Everybody gangsta until "you could eat another bite" Γ3 + farming clothes + deathsquitos
I just use root armor, even with no food it takes them a few hits to kill me
I reiterate, farming clothes.
There's no leg slot item to match the farming clothes. π¦
game SUCKS
Why would I go through the tedious process of changing outfits just to farm a patch of barley? I'll never be in "farming clothes"

Died to a skeeter again?
nah was jokin around in response to
Because of the stamina buff.
At least I get a nice dress for the farming. Unlike me, my character looks great in a dress.
Takes like 5 seconds and boom free stamina reduction
You'll be doing alot of farming especially in the lategame
Tbh its much more tedious to have to lose a ton of stamina and having it watch it slowly regen back
vs reducing the stamina usage meaning bigger patches of crops planted
The only time I dont wear them is when im in dangerous biomes like the mistlands and ashlands
They only reduce stamina usage for hammer, hoe, cultivator, and I think like one other base item
They're useless for combat
Farming skill buff from the set also increases chances of extra crops, right?
Yes, because they're meant to be used in the safety of your base or when your just doing stuff in your base like building or farming
the harvester set yes always wear it
Thatβs what I thought- yeah the stamina buff is nice and all but I love me some extra crops
You do alot of farming then expected
hey is it based on server difficulity that when i apporach swamp with boat there is army of mobs waiting on shore?
Difficulty doesn't affect the number of mobs.
Until you're well acquainted with the swamp your best bet is usually to land at some nearby meadows or Black Forest and walk in
yeah boating up to the swamp is dangerouse, one: because leaches swim, two: there could be an abomination that will dunk you
ye im just unlucky with seed and decent swamp is next to plains, and problem is draugr archer 5 meter underwater shooting bottom of boat
100 meter aggro radius from other islands 5 draugs and 5 skeletons swim into me :F
sounds like a spawner camp then, usually bone piles and rotting corpses together
Draugrs aggro range and movement speed are so perfectly creepy, swamp is honestly pretty neat
2 hour rescue mission, 5 ship wrecks, 3 bodies to retrieve... π
drop a portal somewhere
we try to drop it on this small island but they are coming from big island which is really far away
Honestly those recovery missions are some of my favorite moments
You can get like a half a reinforced chest worth of fiddleheads from one foraging
thats nuts
Especially when you run out of your house buck naked and get oneshotted
I'm in the midst of tearing down my whole meadows base
well.. leaving the building and basic structures, but taking all the stuff that can't go through a portal and sticking it on a boat
Was this a reminder that torch has... more fire damage than certain weapon?
No but that's a good point

(getting the torch out bcuz riot about no leg slot to match the farming clothes)
No more Dyrnwyn slander π

Then again she'd be using dyrnwyn too π
But what if everything in DN takes 28x damage from fire, making dyrnwyn the most effective melee weapon
Torch would still be better no?
28x was the number I chose because if itβs any higher then torch is better (assuming neutral damage from other types)
oh no it wouldn't be, dryn wins by FIVE dmg in this case
lmao
wait it's actually 1 dmg
Ye
dryn stays winning πͺ
nuh uh
Yuh huh
damn. i've been outmatched in this debate π

hi iam new to discord i am stuck in solo mode at lvl 5 boss (big skeleton) i want to create a party mod to help me how can i do that ? i launch my pc and open it with a free password ?
hi
Can i create a dedicated server where all my buddies are admins, meaning they can use 'devcommands' followed by 'debugmode' console commands?
Afaik devcommands cannot be used in dedicated server, but you can check that fact from https://discord.com/channels/391142601740517377/1202550119191412736
Only the world host can use cheat commands, so no unfortunately.
pity. would've be fun π¦
Iirc there may be some mods that enable use of devcommands, but for that you will need to go ask in #mods-discussion + mods often bring more problems
cheers mate

will the rocks load in older worlds or are they only available in newer ones
ya
ive been looking forever, new islands, far from spawn, high elevation, black forest, checking every rock
i was afraid of this. ive been able to do everything else from my one legacy world.
lol, i know, hes just the only thing i haven't done yet.
But it did take me 3 hours using devcommands
Iβd play it safe and look for another 1-3 days
i've looked since april for a few hours a day
i'll try that next, thanks for talking through it
Also, i can donate if you want
oh my! no i've done the whole game vanilla from beginning. i want to earn this part myself as well.
I was just joking
Are those face rocks just random rocks in the worlds?
They spawn in place of normal stones. But only in unexplored areas - 500m from discovered areas - and between 5m and 20m above sea level. You should check every slope, even small ones, during your search. Rivers and cliffs are most promising yet I found mine on a little hill in the Black Forest.
π€ yooo
And 1000m away from map center.
Add deepnorth
They are...
Slopes have no higher probability to have them π but otherwise yep
They should at least in theory, since there's lots of stones. Yet I've found mine at a little hill too.
Aside from the Lox we already have? Probably not.
Not that we know of, but Iβm doubtful π€
just for that they arent adding it
Hello fellow vikings!
So, I JUST defeated Bone mass.....
And im having a bunch of fun....buuuuut....what do I do now? I know imprep for snow and plains....but i didn't grt a wishbone should I fight him again?
Are you sure you didn't miss the wishbone?
Odd you didn't get a Wishbone. Did you go back and look around for it?
I didn't, but I will tonight
Bonemass is supposed to drop 1 wishbone per player.
Prolly did i did get the trophy though so I should have gotten it
Yeah go back and have a look around. Otherwise you'll have to Debone the Mass once more. Unless you want to use DevCommands which I can only assume would spawn one in for you.
I don't use devcmds bleh I'm a real viking i fight for what I want π
Same.
I wish there was a better structural side to the building, having random posts everywhere kinda sucks lol
there kind of is, shouldn't need random posts
Can you send a screenshot somewhere? You're probably approaching the problem wrong
I can when I get home, I just have to have like a second wall on the top layer being held up by 45Β° posts otherwise the floating roof crumbles
I wish valheim had the option to change Portal color
With different building material, you can build taler and strech longer. Wood-beam vs Core beam vs stone vs iron-beam, are a big difference.
When do I get iron beam?
There's no iron beam. Are you thinking of wood iron?
You said iron beam π€£
A beam made of wood and iron.
Why would there be an elephant in the middle of Sweden??
But not in Norse mythology (although they don't 100% follow it when creating new mobs).
Wdym the zombies are totally in mythology
you did get what you fought for, just missed retrieving it lol
I meant elephants/mammoths.
Nah those are mythical creatures like unicorns
the thing is, norse mythology creatures would probably live in other realms, and not in valheim
dwarves are an exception that is justified in the lore
The political correct term is little person..
(I'm joking)
actually it's divisive, some people prefer the other way
Ik im just messing around
Yeah, draugr were in Norse mythology. Some times depicted as a reanimated corpse, but some times much more than that. Truth is, what you see in media called zombies ain't zombies either. Zombie are voodoo mythology, usually a still living person under control of a spell.
Draugr apocalypse??
Although I do think mammoths (or a mammoth-like) would be a far better fit than a horse (or horse like) itβs hard to say what will happen. Heck, never wouldβve expected (Dep North spoiler) ||seals|| but here we are
We need painguins. Like deathsquito, but in penguin form
Smiffe be like: letβs seal the deal π¦
is there a way to teleport to your comrade or any other means of fast travel?
PAINguins
i despise the ocean in every way possible. just took a boat out in this game and have a fking serpant in my face
because for now game feels like a trash and disrespect to a players time
Skill issue, 100 ways to make it easier on you.
is this not #valheim-chat ...
Brain fart
Thought this was general XD
did this server get reset or something, i joined it some years back when the game came out and this guy was helping me. He was a dad abt in his 50's. couldnt see my old messages when i rejoined
i absolutely acknowledge that it's a skill issue, but game itself making me walk absurd annoying amount of time to my grave is not helping me getting interested in game
that's a learning curve, you won't make the same mistake twice
like, 3 times already
well...
Thatβs just valheim
i don't do a mistake, blue eyed treants spawn all over me and stone me to death
why not put a portal on the outskirts of the area ur exploring
like, i get an overall idea: you can't get coΡky with enemies in new area before you build a base(bed) in said area
the problem is - i can't catch a breath in dark forest
Yeah, it got nuked by a bunch of bots about a year ago
Try to keep the rested buff active at all times and stay out at night because of increased enemy spawns
how am i supposed to get this stuff from starting location?
oh, i can't post screenshots
basically, it requires materials i don't have access to yet
idk dude, im 100 hours in and im sailing around the swamp rn π
You don't unlock portals until after you explore the second biome a bit
never progressed past it
i played 2 hours and i came to the point where starting location has nothing to offer anymore, but dark forest kills me in first 2 minutes
bread?
are u taking the correct food and gear?
i mean, my wife managed to build 2 beds in third run, but she accidently claimed both beds
destroy the bed replace it
Did you beat the first boss?
ye ye, i know it, i just capitalized all my health on that leap of faith into the bed
then realized both are claimed and died next second
and i am not ready to run 4th time
it's disgusting game design
get ready then π
its just harsh game design
harsh can be done without disrespecting person's time
Are you able to go around the edge of the black forest to get closer to your grave?
You could make a bed closer without entering the biome this way
Generally, if something is taking an abysmally long time in Valheim, you're taking a suboptimal approach to the problem.
i considered that 2nd run, but if it only gets worse then it's absurd design still
There are exceptions, the ||iron grind|| later on being a prime example, but those are exceptions to the rule.
like, am i supposed to place bed every 20 meters in swamp area?
By then you'll have access to portals
oh, fair enough
You get faster at picking your way across the terrain. It took me a while to get used to, but now it's amazing fun.
You could eat some stamina food, use Eikthyr's power and run past everything. Don't miss the rested buff, since it doubles your stamina regeneration and increases health regeneration.
What food are you eating? What armor and weapons? The biggest thing a lot of people miss is that food is critical, as is building all the crafting stations to be able to build other tools, meals, etc.
ur not forced to play the game, theres also a manual save if u press escape so u can just reload the backup if u like
i don't eat food
That's your problem
That's why you're dying so often
food gives u stamina and health??
Well there's your problem, holy cow
in multiplayer?
if u start server yes
click escape and u can see it
If you don't eat, you can't even regenerate health
i deliberately ignored food to force myself getting good at fights faster, but ye, should put aside that mentality during "migration" periods
this has to be coping not strategy π
Food means you'll have like 3x the health and 2x the stamina
when u know u will die from 2 hits even from boar - it motivates a little
There is a combat difficulty world modifier you can change instead
Yeah π This is where people usually get hung up on Valheim as compared to almost all other survival games. Food is an actual mechanic, it's just not "stop from starving" chore crap like most other games.
@shy marlin Thoughts on not eating as a new player?
no no no, that's for pussiΠ΅s
he means to make it harder not easier
AH
So to get this straight, you deliberately made the game harder for yourself, die a lot, and then call it bad game design.
i just died a whole continent away from my bed and respawned abt 50 meters from my death inventory? howd that happen
Interesting. Could you post the map somewhere fir the area in question?
well my death inventory also just isnt here...?
my problem is with game punishing you by wasting your time a lot if you don't put checkpoints every 20m
and if you do...well, you are spending half of your time building beds, huh
Did you close the game immediately after dying? That can cause saving issues.
i did not
Sometimes you have to zoom in to get right next to the death marker
You wouldn't have to place a bed every 20m if you weren't using a challenge run to learn the game
Well you could run farther than 20m reliably if you had food. You'd also be doing fewer death runs.
Use portals
Again, eating food means you could have 3x the health and 2x the stamina.
Thallas is in Meadows currently
nope i had it right, the issue was i logged as a died to and loaded a backup 3 mins prior and didnt load it back
You could load a character backup the same way you load a world backup
im not sure how i respawned here tho, did it load in where i had saved?
yea i think it loaded my saved position
tbf its just a matter of learning
u dont have to place beds so often if u dont die
u could use portals instead aswel since ur gonna want/need them around places anyway
it makes sense, until your customers leave before getting good enough
You're choosing to make the game harder than it should be to a new player
(although i understand i am b*tching right now because of skill issue)
u just told us u dont eat food cause u wanna make urself better, ur doing this to urself π
This game isnt hard....
Some people do challenge runs without food, but generally only after hundreds if not thousands of hours in the game.
π€¦ββοΈ
Even with food, your first encounter with skeletons is probably going to fuck you up pretty badly. Meadows should feel pretty easy.
Ghosts are easy
i want a clip of u curb stomping a troll bare handed
i died to 2 of them second time only because i got surprised they don't get staggered much by stone hammer
i, in fact, want to do this
Everyone should do it, saves 3 inventory slots
Well fuck, that didn't help our case.
3????
Everyone should also not use armor, saves 4 inventory slots
Playing with an inventory is only going to lead to inventory management issues
also
Scales, for context.
any recommendations with mods? are they cruicial for better experience? (like in Darktide, for example)
You should avoid mods for your first playthrough as they can lead to breaking things which you don't realise are broken
Someone was able to get iron very early, for example, without realising they had skipped a lot of progression
#mods-discussion if you must. I highly recommend against mods for the first playthrough, though.
Valheim by itself already has a ton of content so you should be hooked till endgame
no no, i meant QoL kind of stuff
Any mod can break anything
Even if its QoL mods I still advise against it for your first playthrough
I prefer playing through with no mods, you don't know what QoL you might want until you know what's already there. I personally like it find perfectly vanilla.
after Darktide i ask about this in every game-community i jump in
At this point, if you're refusing to eat food and calling corpse runs bad game design because of it, your idea of what is considered QoL probably includes multiple game-breaking mechanics.
Many QoL things are already handled in world options as it is, too. Lots of mods people use that are already in the base game features.
my wife disliked building system (but i am never responsible for building a base, so i have no idea how a proper system should feel like)
The most important thing when playing a new game is literally just play the game and get used to the mechanics and feel
then unfortunately the right side of her brains dominent
the building here is quite simple
No need to get that personal with it
u unlock an unfathomable range of building options the more u progress
nah, it's ok

wasnt meant to sound as tho its an insult, apologies
you were right anyways lol
she was fine in ARK: Survival Evolved (i mean building system), so i got confused big time
looks like same building systems to me
Building system has been quite simple since launch but nowadays it's easier thanks to the ability to swap snap points for building pieces.
good time to join in then
hello vikings, i too am a viking
No
show us ur valhalla documents
Where are yours?
and OdinID too
π€£
i am not a viking
i built a bridge across a gorge in defiance of hades and the little stream he had running through the gorge. thus i defeated the designs of the gods.
valhalla now pls.
You still have a ton of time to catch up to the lastest content, so dont feel discourage that its gonna take you a long time
all i need is to put my roots into dark forest sooner than i rage quit
Is it troll proof? Lol
i did have to defend it against trolls.
Yes, new content will be generated automatically when you open your world after a content update.
while my friend did exactly nothing to help me. :c
Lol
the stability is ominously red. but i'm sure thats just a glitch.
Classic friend.
"automatically"?
-# toooooorches
Yes, when content update is added to the game the new content will be generated in your old worlds too when you launch them.
Like, you won't have to manually configure stuff when the update drops for Deep North to generate.
But note that they are generated in unexplored areas.
i only built the bridge cos i was making a path all the way to spawn from our village, then got a 2h side quest to make a bridge to continue my path
Β―_(γ)_/Β―
magnificent
To simply put, say you have a old world and then an update comes out, the parts of your world that is unexplored will generate new content
That way old worlds stay relevant even when game gets new content.
Doesnt minecraft do a similar thing like valheim but just in a larger scale
because you have to travel so far to get to new content
But in case of final biome, it's best to leave that unexplored if you want to play your world when it's added.
And please for the love of Odin eat food until you actually know what you're doing. The difficulty ramps up significantly after the first few biomes.
Hmm, can't remember.
Yes.
Dont spoil him about our friendly blue man
"Oh hey, this one has stars! Wonder if it's friendly"
π
i had an unpleasant fellow try send me into orbit with a tree.
very rude. very unwarrented. i just tryin to build stuff over here.
You can actually send yourself into orbit later on with ||catapult + feather cape||
Viking space project.
theres more than one way to get to valhalla.
if you've seen predator, that scene where they fire into the forest. but replace the guns with bows. and the soldiers with your buddies.
At least you don't fly into orbit like in Skyrim when giant hits you with a big club. π¨βπ
no i just get turned into a silly little headstone instead.
Very carefully π Parrying and non-blunt damage is your best bet usually, the hardest part about them is that you're usually surrounded by other enemies as well, and they hit hard.
