in Kazakhstan the game used to cost 5 dollars since May 22 the game is three times more expensive, will there be discounts? and why the price has increased.
Probably during Summer Sale the game will have discount. But Iron Gate has nothing to do with Steam pricing, could be regional thing.

Sometimes prices on Steam can differ in certain regions, but that is beyond my knowledge why the price may have changed.

Its not just combat right
I have been in my base now for months. It has a nice wall all the way around it and iron gates. Today I was looking in some chests and boooom a brute started pounding on me. Then I saw a boar was running around my base. I looked and the gates are all shut and the walls are all up. Any idea why they are in my base? nothing has spawn inside the walls before and I have not changed anything.
Is the area fully spawnproofed?
If they really wanted that they would raise prices for all regions, however it seems only south america was affected.
not sure how it works but I think some crafting stations and furniture prevent enemies from spawning. You prob have a gap in there somewhere
Campfires also has same spawnproof area as workbench.
I checked the wiki and it says that artisan table has a 40 meter spawnproof range.

I googled a bit. It has to do with how Valve's recommended price interacts with foreign (to US) currencies. For some reason this strikes some countries - one of them Kazakhstan - especially hard. Valheim's publisher probably just follows the Valve recommendation instead of actively researching various currencies - so if Valve's recommendation increased 300% for the Tenge that would mean the price jumped 300% in Kaz, while the actual price of Valheim has not changed - it is still 20$.
This is the case not only in Kazakhstan, but in all CIS countries

This cant be right? Using an iron pick axe one shots them, using a Antler pickaxe is two shots?

Hm, the code definitely says 5 HP.
It should be correct, but the part about all pickaxes may need a bit of a tweak since the dmg spreads with how many pieces you hit, so antler will be slightly worse then some i believe.
maybe it is 5HP - but its defintely 2x antlker hits on average - where as Iron is 1 shot

I finally got into the Mistlands like a year ago, the point I entered from seemed to have a Gjall spawning right where my ship touched down on >.> So I managed to kill it the first couple times, but then having to deal with it over and over eventually got the better of me..anyways I logged back in the other night, modified the world rules for no build cost to fix my base up to be a bit more efficient as a solo player and now love playing Valheim again 
idk if am repeating myself but man would mistlands be cooler without the mist 
like in some places the mist doesn't spawn and it looks so majestic
You definitely have said that before. Mistlands without mist would just be Lands.
its cheap to make wisp lights, so just bring a bunch of materials and build it as you explore
There seems to be some areas where it's much more dissipated, at least for a minute..the sound design is just fantastic in there though, almost makes me wanna build a lil outpost. I wonder, how have solo players found Ashlands? Particularly initially arriving there and getting a foothold? I can forsee that being another year long break event

Cant really tell since my first experience with them was in ptb where it was much much harder to get a foothold, so cant really tell you what you should expect on first feel currently. Imo now it is a bit too peacefull in there, on shores at the very least.

I'd like to be able to make a wider radius wisp lantern - e.g. out of black marble, like the wisp beacons of dvergr construction that are naturally spawned here and there around Mistlands. Make those crafteable with some thing from the press built from the Queen's drops, and it can't make Mistlands too e-z before you've "beaten" it. Win-win.
Would be super neat if you could use gold to hire out some Dverger or something in future to make big raid combat a scooch more fun for solo players, just to split up the aggro at the least!
I played on easy mode. Defeated Fader yesterday.
I completed ashlands very fast though I do not see doing it on normal.
The charred swarm you when you try to stand in one place for too long. Good thing friendly fire is on for the enemies there tho.
the hammer from mistlands helped a lot against melee charred
imo that could be something you should be able to craft out of the queen drops.
I'm gonna keep build cost off and loot drops increased for now, that's made life muuuuch easier for me, as just keeping on top of crafting everything keeps my brain dizzy enough..I also haven't explored the southern half of my map at all, so when I do go looking for Ashlands it'll be a proper adventure

How do i use that?
My experience was pretty much like that - but I bombarded the coast from the sea a good while before I actually landed. Made sure there were no active spawn towers on "my" beach, that took the pressure off a bit. But it turns out I chose a location to land where enemies are funneled at my base between the ocean and the lava sea. It's pretty much a non-stop siege. Can be exhausting at times.
I had a look at some gameplay from the ptb and it was gnarly

You can also clear old chunks and βrenewβ them with commands and possibly a mod
One thing to note is they have mentioned doing a sweep of all of the previous biomes for the 1.0 update, so it might just be wise to make a new world entirely when 1.0 drops

The spin is his only attack with a 360 degrees attack trigger and all others are 180 or less, so if every player is behind him all he'll do is spin which is easily tanked with a root harnesk.

Their weak point is weak to all damage except poison
Other areas than their butt, which is their weak point.
You can parry their attack and jump secondary attack to the weak point to deal high amount of damage.

Playing with a friend and into the Ashlands. Wiki says Fallen Valkyries are an "uncommon spawn". We're getting them about every 100 meters or so. is that uncommon or is there a known issue?
Take it as uncommon compared to other mobs there π tho they are really not that common it may feel like they are since you are always doing something (fighting) and you percieve time a bit differently there

The mob spawn rng can also be pretty bursty. It took a few days before I encountered my first valkyrie in Ashlands, then now it seems every time I walk more than 500 meters from my outpost I get one. Often together with a morgen, and always those burnt skellies. They everywhere all the time!
Ran into my first 2-star warrior today, kiting him to the nearest dvergr outpost cost me a crapload of frost arrows and I barely dented the thing's health bar. Gods those things are nightmares!

I find that starred enemies come in bursts. Some days I get one or two - like the 10% of every mob that is supposed to be starred - other days it seems two out of three are starred. Definitely more than 10% - but that's just rng for you. Sometimes the stars align to mess with you.
According to the Wise Men (the interwebs) there's a 10% chance each mob that spawns will have one star, and then another 10% chance that starred mob gets another star. So two star mobs should be about one out of a hundred - but anyone who ever played pen-n-paper rpgs using d100 systems will know that some days the dice will be "in the mood" and crazy shit can happen.

The way dungeons work in the game is that the actual dungeon is buttfuck sky high at the same xz coordinates as the entrance
And the entrance/exit just teleports your y coordinate

I keep my chickens in a troll cave. By placing some campfires around the cave and using signs to block the chickens from suiciding in the fires, the cave becomes a convenient safe breeding ground. You need to hop in and feed them once in a while, and replenish the fires, other than that they pretty much manage themselves.
And that way they most definitely don't cause any kind of lag.
Put my askvin in a similar location, but since they are so damn big troll caves won't cut it.

If you manage to deal backstab damage with the secondary attack it still deals huge amount of damage on them.
What would you guys recommend for a weapon? I always used swords and never really tried another weapon. But I see a lot of people using Atgears, Spears or other stuff. I just crafted the Frostner, but I think it deals less damage than the sword. And I havenβt quite figured out what βspiritβ means π

Spirit damage is basically elemental damage that burns undead (similar to how fire damage works), but most other mobs in game are immune to it.
I change weapon, when I know what mob I'm fighting. They all have pros and cons.

Damage in yellow tells you that the mob takes extra damage from the weapon. Use spear and club on skeleton, and check it out.
its also not that big a deal if you find out or not. there is not a lot of spirit damage in the game and its not that beneficial to know. Not worth going out of your way to use a specific spirit weapon on undead, most weapons work in all scenarios just some are better equipped to handle specific mobs or situations.
they are more just like added bonuses that give you a bit more damage but nothing gamebreaking
i think using multiple weapons for different situations is nice, but if you are passionate about swords there is no problem with only using a sword
idk it's pretty beneficial to know that silver sword against charred is pretty good

The spirit damage is noticeable when you hit targets that are not immune against it. It applies a bright glowing burn and sizzling noise that deals damage over time.

Been using Crystal battleaxe a lot in my 2h weapon run and I was so used to its hit movements that when I got Krom I had to get used to it again too lol.

i am building a castle and for the first time im actually pretty satisfied with the progress. and im messing around with a pathway and such outside bcus i had to terraform quite much in the front. and now i decided im gon do a massive wall too

i live on an semi island in the Plains and want a larger farming area and the area closest to my castle on mainland is a huge hill. but the other side of the islands mainland side is flatter. so massive wall for the farm and a greatbridge it is

What I love is to use a mod that lets me terraform everywhere to the deepest ground (until water comes) Some areas in my build were way higher than my ground level but somehow the game didnβt let me dig derper. That mod really helped. But I know this is not the mod section, so sorry if I overstepped with that comment

Usually content with wherever I am in a particular moment in combat in the swamp, and then boom a wraith spawns. Always when my stamina is drained too lol
if you want to know: they only spawn ||at night|| or very rarely ||inside some buildings the first time you see the building, even during the day||. So ||if you stay in Swamp only during the day|| you'll have far less risk.
Lastly ||place bonfires when you see one, and they will catch fire if you run around it, killing them||

You have access to an item that stops the cold effect from draining stamina. Are you using it?

No. Make sure you break them instead of interacting with them to pick them up, as they'll drop 1-3 crystals that way instead of just 1.

ive been playing on a server for a while now, it made me realize its not ashland thats 'broken', its ashland in my world... is it possible the world generation failed and gave me double respawn, which came with performance issues? thats what i think happened at the moment

its a world that was created after the ashland release
i was getting crazy about it, i didnt know if ashlands were unfinished/broken, or if it was skill issues. but i'm having no issues at all when i play in that other world online, which is on hardmode too. i get half the monsters, no performance issues (almost 0*), and i didnt notice the pathfinding problems neither. Its 'easy' compared to the one in my world.
i dont want to continue the one im doing solo. i cant step out of my base, which is on the shore of ashland without being swarmed. everything seems to be doubled. if i see one morgen, i know another is close by. same with valkiries.
I'm curious to know if anyone else had the same problems
i think the performance problems ive been having in ashlands are due to having twice the amount of npcs i should be having.
could be just bad luck, also everything in ashlands is able to kill each other, atleast different types do. valkyries and morgens can help you clear that mob, even each other. just keep running and rolling :D spotting a morgen or valkyrie during a swarm is a blessing. especially during ||asksvins|| -_-'
i played a good bit already. i got flamemetal, ask and embla armor already. i just was getting frustrated by the amount of mobs i was facing
i went play online hoping that it would be better in a group and realized it wasnt normal

I think what makes this scenario weird, is because just as the archer died, it lost aggro and was planning on the barrage attack, and then when i shoot it, it technically gets staggered, which makes it face towards you, and also causing the barrage to hit fader. IDK, this is one of the only times I've seen this barrage do dmg to Fader, and I've grinded many Fader kills in my experience

Why the sea biome seem to be just abandonned ? It could have plenty of things to do on the water (like more monsters, abandonned/haunted ships, specials events, kinds of ships, etc..).

It has multiple smaller clusters that deal less blunt than Ember staff but all clusters hitting ramps the fire damage up much higher than Ember.

So, I found a fortress in Ashlands. I thought I would be clever by clearing the grounds outside methodically - I managed to knock out one of their ballistae up on the parapet so I could approach the wall without being bombarded - but then suddenly a complete horde of charred started jumping down from the walls at me - including a couple of warlocks who quickly made the situation dire. So I ran away...and now I wonder how the <bleep> you assault those places if they can launch bloody airborne counter attacks?

Just fought the queen for my first time and died at half life cause she burrowed above me and i didnt see while distracted by seekers and she spit, but otherwise came back and finished her -- was pure mage build with 2 EITR food and one 55/55 feast π
Mods aren't vanila, of course. But #mods-discussion might be able to help with some mod suggestions. Your other option would be just to temporarily up the drop rate if getting copper was difficult for you.
the issue is that i dont have much time to play, or rather dont want to waste the time i got digging around giant copper nodes, and wasting like 2 hours in the process, just for it to keep hanging on the air and not collpasing because the actual support nodes hitboxes are so hard to predict how they behave. thx for the tip ill switch to #mods-discussion.
2 hours? You can get what you need in 10-20 minutes or so then just move onto the next. Trying to dismantle entire veins is a weird thing that people are obsessed with. Most of the time the hitbox extends below the dig limit anyway so it's kinda pointless.

It's a better version of draugr bow, and it's really good in the ashlands
And it's also giga cheap
The dmg is marginally better and its 40% more stamina hungry
Draugr lvl4 is 76 total dmg, spinesnap lvl3 is 80 (without the spirit which most things like fulings and seekers are immune to)
Thats like 6% more dmg for 40% more stamina
And im not accounting for arrows
With arrows adding ~70 dmg it looks even worse, like 3% more dmg
I assume its useful in ashlands but in mistlands it just seems bad to me

Spinesnap has 40% higher stamina cost but adds more than 40% pierce damage over draugr fang.
It's just better
And also mind you, draugr fangs poison does not stack
Sure but seekers are immune to pierce and not poison
The poison is so little anyways it doesn't make a lick of difference

Only argument that makes sense is when you're sneak hitting seekers (to increase the initial poison dmg hit), (say like when you're sniping off some near the mines), but at that point, you should use huntsman bow and gurantee multiple sneak hits on seekers with frost arrows

I'd also like to remind that huge parts of mistlands is dealing with weak points like the gjall weak point which is only weak to pierce, and the seeker butt, and having a higher initial pierce dmg is much more inflated by the weak point modifier
So while that extra 4 stam per second seems daunting, it's well worth the investment

At the end of the day - if you like Draugr more - just use that. You do you. If you want to min/max - then have both Huntsman (to solo pull) and Spinesnap (to DPS)
i never crafted the spinesnap, i continued using Draugr all the way through ashlands just because i liked the look
I tend to skip draugr and keep Huntsman bow until I can make Spinesnap. Draugr feels very underwhelming most times and the sneaky attribute of the Huntsman is VERY useful when raiding fuling villages in plains.
In the mistlands I found a guard tower that's complete no damage... looks great. There are about 6 or 7 Dvergs in it all watching me walk around ready to shoot me π¦ Now is it worth fighting them for the tower and use it as a base? or are there going to be Dvergs spawning in from time to time to fight me for it back?
They will not spawn again if you kill them, but if you destroy the ward by cart they will not attack you even of you hit stuff around π (you still can't hit them if you don't want to aggro them ofc)
Oh Ok... guess Ill figure a way to take them out one by one.. they have a few 1 star mages with them.. I have not attacked any of them so far in the mistlands.. so i dont really know how hard they hit lol
The mages hit quite hard, especially starred ones, so be very carefull.
How do people bypass those zones where you can't build

The starred mages are quite likely to wreck much of the tower if you fight them inside, so if you go down that route try and lure them outside. Personally, I'd try to lure a seeker soldier or two to the site and let them duke it out..

Well, you can't build on the forsaken site, unless there is some mods enabling it (ask in #mods-discussion if you like). As for crafting station upgrades placement of those can be frustratingly restrictive, making it difficult to place them in a logical manner but still have them in range. All you can do is move around trying to find that magic pixel where you are allowed to place them - and hope it is not smack in the middle of your hallway.
Dunno if the placement logic is something still being polished, I'm hoping it will be a little less restrictive come 1.0.

You can remove the rug, place your stuff and then put the rug back. Rugs aren't picky in the same manner

There are a few at the front door and some on the top. And I think 1 on the 2nd floor. If I agro the ones at the front door are the all going to agro? The ones on top ect...?
They will all turn hostile, but if they all become alerted and come rushing at you depends on the distance, unfortunately they are probably close enough to hear the commotion downstairs and come to investigate

Well I took them all out... but the mage on top did some damage to the top floor and the 2nd lvl floor. So far all I can repair in the tower is the black marble. Can you repair the wood floor and beams in those towers and I just have not unlocked something yet? Or you cant and I just have to rebuild it with different mats?

Yeah, you often encounter stability issues if you don't build on a perfectly flat ground, if you have it though you can just clip a structure inside terrain iirc

does item weight and wind affect catapult mechanics?
FYI - testing shows that nothing affects catapult speed/distance
Wind direction and intensity - no
Lightmead/Haste mead - no
Fader buff - no
Fenris blessing - no
In fact - the game considers you at "0m/s" speed - which made me realise that is why none of the speed modifiers affect it - your not moving yourself - its just the initlal physics.
The only thing that matters is the feather cape obviously.

Ah, there's always gonna be some slight variations due to initial placements tho, I know that myself to be true, if you wanna find where your sword went, send some items and look for where they went, sword will be in that area ish
If you can't find it, I feel like dev commands would be justified if it was an accident

i once had a terrible desync and had to re-farm top tier mistlands armor

dev decision to split player and world saves was a horrible idea in my opinion
Itβs like how terraria does it and allows you to travel to multiple worlds with one character, whatβs not to like about that?
when your power goes out for example or if server crashes, you either get dupped items or lose items you had
and I personally see very little usage from roaming between servers with same player save because you can easily disrupt other server progression "route", ruining game experience for others in the process

it's basically legal cheating in a game where difficulty is one of it's core features if you can say it like that

but to be fair, the game is what you make of it - thereβs ways to cheat in every game and i think the item syncing just makes actual hacking less interesting
personally i think if you want the game to be hard just put your stuff in a chest

The game is designed for solo/small friend coop using what is known as βclient authoritativeβ networking.
By designing it like that it has kept complexity down, and it is very successful as a result.

only problem i have with current system is remembering which chars go with what world but now i just give em the same name 
Yeah thereβs cons to either way of doing it itβs up to player preference really but I like how itβs done in valheim and terraria
I guess it depends on what you value, I enjoy the greater freedom for characters by not having them tied to a world
You can decide at any point that this world isnβt for you and travel to another world with no loss to character progression
Having atleast the worlds the characters used last in order come up at the top after character selection would help alleviate this issue
Just spitballing, it might also be cool to have a world modifier thats like, one char only

Yeah as a server-side modifier that would make a lot of sense. I would like to "lock" my server so it would only accept characters who have not been on other worlds. You wouldn't be "locked" to the server, you would just not be able to return if you hopped on another server or a solo world on that character. Just a small thing to make a server/world a little more "hardcore".

they're so close to being a good option in combat
I unironically like using it actively in battle. No MTP is great against groups, poke creates space and higher stagger multiplier of primary attacks gives surety to keep even bigger mobs staggered, like here: #memes-and-clips message (SPOILER incase you haven't been in Plains).
why use battleaxe when sword exist
and if it's used as a stagger weapon then just atgeir
It's a good enough weapon, just other things do the things it does just better π’
And the first hit of the battleaxe is slow it really can't be used effectively as a cleaving hit without you getting hit yourself
It fits my playstyle well at least. Jumping gives some desired positioning and movement for the first attack. And I like how it staggers more possibly and also deals good damage and has no MTP.
Also, the clip is from my 2h challenge run, so I have used battleaxe a lot in that run lol.

2h axe is fun, but there's better options for everything it does. Except with regards to saved inventory slots
Please remember to eat. Running around at 25 health and 50 stamina is quite bad for your longevity.
How does that work with starred 'zerkers though? Those are the ones I have the most problems with initially.
My favourite weapon for starred berserkers is flesh rippers because the two hit combo is good for the short time you have to attack.

Spawn some things in using devcommands. Or push a few enemies into a little "house" that will keep them in place. You can then listen to them grumble whenever you pass by them π
Is using swords viable in the game? I followed the usual advice or mace and stopped at the plains. Thinkikg of restarting and trying a different weapon. Should I just go mace again?
Why restart? The game is really built around using multiple weapons, ideally. Different enemies have different weaknesses, and swords are quite powerful against most things.
They are on par with macesi would say π + no multitarget penalty and another plus (subjective) is that they dont have that large of a knockback
Every weapon is viable, some are just slightly harder than others depending on the situation
